Re: Thread: Everyday Chatting & Waffling {2019} Let's get to know each other!

It seems hardly fair to make us wait for the 5th :)

Ha ha - I know!! LOL

I know that whoever wins, they will be great scrappers! This year seemed particularly difficult to decide - such great layouts! I think us Ginger-Scrappers have upped our game and are becoming some pretty great scrappers!!

I still can't believe I got second last year! Being on the CT is a dream come true!

Re: Thread: Everyday Chatting & Waffling {2019} Let's get to know each other!

Thank you!! I was envisioning your dog chasing his chicken - like he was raising live chickens!!!

:chiiickseeking::taz:

Happy Wednesday to all. Today [and tomorrow] I have the day off from the g'kiddo's. I planned a lot of scrapping [trying to complete a book to print] and catching up today [including housework]. A very long time dear friend asked if I could go to lunch. We did. We had a lovely time together. She's pretty much alone with a lot of medical issues. I'm happy I could help out.

Yes on the allergies here. DH got them for the first time ever. One of his RX was expensive!!!!! Sure hoping it works!!

I love the Survivor challenges. The challenges made me think and I am happy with all 5 of my pages. Now the wait until Friday.

I was asked by several from the alliances and in the comments about the dog mentioned in my week 5 page.
Well here is a page I did with the dog from Survivor season 4.

The dog introduced us trying to eat Bill's chicken off the little hibachi grill. Next time we saw each other was the adult pool. I had my screaming infant nephew there. Next was I was jogging and stopped to chat at the mailbox. The day Harry Chapin died. After that we started dating and it is 37 years married in June.

LOL- Nope not raising any chickens...just trying to eat some dinner and I kinda disrupted several of them in the first few meetings. I looked awful at all 3 first encounters, but here we are since 1981!
I really wanted Pogo [my doggie] to be ring bearer in the wedding but Mama said no......

I have only 2 pets in my life that mattered to me. Pogo was one, and Marbles was the other [he was a Yorkie]...I won't do another.

I can't wait to hear! Friday is never going to get here. I don't think I'll make it near the top, but being a CT for Gingerscraps is on my Bucket List :). Maybe some day...

Re: Thread: Everyday Chatting & Waffling {2019} Let's get to know each other!

I am so proud of the five layouts I completed, I went outside my comfort zone, had fun doing it, and love my pages. I’m excited for whoever wins.

Re: Thread: Everyday Chatting & Waffling {2019} Let's get to know each other!

So we had snow and freezing rain today...oh ya and we also had no sunshine and heavy cold winds. Isn't it April?

Oh yeah it's April. My daffodils started coming up in February and I think that ruined them because they are not blooming at all. Sorry to hear about your snow- that sounds like something that would happen here!

Re: Thread: Everyday Chatting & Waffling {2019} Let's get to know each other!

Getting ready for the BIG REVEAL tomorrow. Scrapped some of the cutest buttons ever. Bat baby girl and Bat baby boy. Which will my new grand batbaby be :) My DIL is nuts about Batman. I have worked SO hard to create some really cute bat baby stuff for her gender reveal party.

I also made some cute "Keeper of the Gender" buttons for my daughter Karen and my DILs cousin, Lilly who are the ONLY ones who know. My DIL, Nessa (vanessa) is a nurse, so she has been careful not to look at any of the scans.

Re: Thread: Everyday Chatting & Waffling {2019} Let's get to know each other!

Lynnie - Congratulations on Survivor! How exciting!

Sherri - My hubby asked me if I did the best I could do. I went back and looked at my pages. I really feel like I did and I'm proud of them. They're good enough for me and my family and I think that's good enough. My hubby had to talk me back down to reality. He's a good man. :)

Karen - I'm sorry about your weather. It's been cold here, but thankfully no snow since last weekend. Today it's actually 70! It's suppose to rain tonight, but I don't think the temps are suppose to go down to much. Hoping for you that the sun comes out soon.

Ane - I love your siggie! It's really pretty. Those are some of my favorite colors!

Well, have a great day ladies! I've got CT deadlines to meet, so I'm scrapping most of the day.

Re: Thread: Everyday Chatting & Waffling {2019} Let's get to know each other!

It is going to be a BOY! I am so happy. We have a trend for boys.... I had four boys and a girl, my sister in law had four boys and most of the grandchildren so far for my SIL and for me have been boys. Steven and Nessa are really excited. Now we have to wait on James and Hannah's baby. He/She is due any day now but they decided to wait to find out what they were having...

Re: Thread: Everyday Chatting & Waffling {2019} Let's get to know each other!

Lynnie boys dominate in our family too... but I did end uo having 2 girls and 2 boys, my oldest sister had 6 boys before she finally had a girl... :) and the second to the oldest sister had 4 boys... LOL
Finally getting some good weather, just hope we don't get as much rain as last year, we will see... :) just thankful its warmed up... :)
Well off to do some scrapping... have a great day LADIES!

Re: Thread: Everyday Chatting & Waffling {2019} Let's get to know each other!

Lynnie, Boys dominate our family as well. I have 2 and 1 for each of my siblings. When the kids were expecting they invited both sets of parents to the Ultrasound which was very exciting. Of course, since I had 2 boys I secretly wanted a girl and my wish came true with my grand-daughter of 8 years. I am excited for you for 2 new grandbabies!

On another note, to TOOT my own horn, I was nominated for Baker's Best this week. Even though I didn't win Survivor I love all my LO's I submitted and I feel al warm & fuzzy when my work is validated. Here is the link if you want to stop by.
https://forums.gingerscraps.net/showthread.php?46601-Bakers-Best-3-31-4-6/page3

Weather is warming up but it is the time of the year where it is so dirty with all the snow melt but we have have rain today so it should wash some of that away and I was able to go on my first ride of the year (I cycle ALOT).

Anyone joining in on Mousescrapper's 10th Anniversary? I am hoping to complete all the challenges so I can get the BIG Disney Collab! The designers are so generous! Well off to scrap, have a great Sunday!

Re: Thread: Everyday Chatting & Waffling {2019} Let's get to know each other!

Congrats, Lynnie! How neat! I can't imagine waiting to find out the sex of a baby. I had two girls and two boys and I would a have went nuts if I would have waited. Good luck to them!

Karen, we never did the Disney thing and my kids are in their 20's and 30's now so Mickey is a long ways off for me, lol. It sounds fun though. Have a great time!
I'm glad you were happy with your Survivor layouts. That's the most important thing and that you had fun, and I had a blast!

Alta, it's finally getting pretty here too! It was in the 70's here yesterday and I think today is suppose to be the same way. I'm so happy! We had all of our windows opened yesterday. It smelled so good in my house. I love the smell of Spring. We live in the country and I just smells so darn good!

Well, I've got a couple more CT things to do and then I think I'm gonna be able to play with some challenges. I'm kind of excited! You ladies have a really wonderful day!

Re: Thread: Everyday Chatting & Waffling {2019} Let's get to know each other!

Congrats Lynnie
We also are boy dominated. We have ten granddaughters and 20 grandsons. I have been able in the last couple days to get my journal scrapbooks pages caught up. It feels great when I stay caught up but sometimes I get a week or two behind. I am also able to get the challenges done a little better since Survivor is over. I love the challenge each year. We have clear skies and then rain every day here. Hope all of you have the allergies clear up. Mine have not been so bad yet.

Re: Thread: Everyday Chatting & Waffling {2019} Let's get to know each other!

Another male dominated family here! Where are all the girls at? LOL . . . I have two sons and six grandsons to two granddaughters. When that first granddaughter was born . . . ohhhh did I cheer! Her mom warms my heart by calling her a "Mini Me."

They recently moved out of state, so I have to up my care package game. I'd love to put together a small box each month - sorta modeling a subscription box but geared to each of the kids. Then I told their mom that I'd like them to open it while we skype. I desperately want to stay connected to them between trips to visit. I see some hybrid projects in my future!

The last two days were spent at a craft show to support Mennonite Central Committee. It's a fun time as both my sisters (no brothers either!) come from out of state to work the show with our aunts. We so enjoy spending the time together.

Yesterday was beautiful and today is the same . . . sun and warm weather makes the garden grow . . . quickly!

Re: Thread: Everyday Chatting & Waffling {2019} Let's get to know each other!

You guessed it- another male-dominated family here! I have 3 boys to 1 girl, and come from a family of 5 boys, 2 girls. My husband's family has 3 boys, 2 girls.

Yesterday and today have been in the 70's, so I am doing a little sitting outside with DD. We've been talking about some hard things and she's not entirely sure how her father is going to react. I am more calm on the outside but sort of freaking on the inside. I will ask her permission before I share here, to see if anyone else is going through/has gone through the same kinds of things. This is something I never thought I'd have to deal with, but here we are.

Re: Thread: Everyday Chatting & Waffling {2019} Let's get to know each other!

With the talk about male dominated families.... my siblings were two sisters and one brother so 3 against 1 but he was always the apple of our mother's eye.
I only had one daughter but she has provided me with 3 granddaughters and 1 grandson. Therefore no male domination for me!

Re: Thread: Everyday Chatting & Waffling {2019} Let's get to know each other!

Wow, good to know My daughter & I aren't the only male dominated household lol. I have 4 boys & 1 girl. One of my sister's has 2 girls & 2 of my other siblings have 1 boy & 1 girl each. I am the eldest of 6 & that was 3 boys/3girls

Feels like forever since I scrapped, haven't really done anythign since I had to pull out of survivor. I managed to pull the muscles in my neck & shoulder the same week & haven't been able to scrap much as I can't sit at the computer. Went to physio last week & he fixed me up but I stupidly lifted something the next day & pulled the muscles again. Can't get back into physio until wednesday so just using my heat pack to ease the pain.

Its autumn here but the days have been like summer, only a little milder & the mozzies are out in force
Hope everyone is doing well, hope to be back with some layouts in a day or two

Re: Thread: Everyday Chatting & Waffling {2019} Let's get to know each other!

I had this fabulous post part way typed, but I am at work and needed to get something fixed on my computer, so I had to quit the post :(

Thanks for all the info on boy and girl families. WHAT FUN! I am just excited to have more grandchildren. My oldest grandchild was 19 when the second grandchild came along. I thought I was never going to get more. FINALLY I am getting a crop :) I am so blessed, too. Both my daughters-in-law want me to be a big part of their children's lives, and they adore me. I am all about being adored...

THe party was fabulous. Only Karen (my daughter) and Lilly (Nessa's cousin) knew. They conspired to make it fabulous. Nessa is a HUGE Batman fan, so they had a "Riddle Me This - BatMom" cake (inside was blue, but we could not see that!). They had blue and pink decorations everywhere, there were blue and pink Bat Baby pins. There was a sign to Beware of Batdog (Geisha). We had a backdrop with a City Skyline and Baby Bat props. There were batman signs on the tables with half blue, half pink backgrounds. It was fabulous. When the time came there was a countdown and the Bat Signal shone bright in BLUE. It was so much fun. Then we cut the cake... There was also a blue smoke bomb that swirled around the Bat Signal. It could not have gone better.

It was particularly amazing since the party was originally at Lilly's house (Nessa's cousin). It had to be moved because 75 people responded and they would not fit. Steven and Nessa just bought a house and whereas the house is small, the grounds are plenty big enough for 75 people. They have a huge wide driveway down the side of the house that made for a perfect venue for the party tables, plus they opened up the garage. It was wonderful. It also motivated them to get unpacked (This was their third Saturday there :) and the first Saturday was moving day. )

SO - look for layouts :)

Re: Thread: Everyday Chatting & Waffling {2019} Let's get to know each other!

Lynnie, sounds like such a fun time...even without the baby here yet. I wonder what the baby shower will be like...LOL! I can't wait to see those layouts!

Re: Thread: Everyday Chatting & Waffling {2019} Let's get to know each other!

I am looking forward to making them, Karen. The shower is going to be just as ridiculously awesome! Nessa is incredibly creative and amazing. I adore everything about her!

Re: Thread: Everyday Chatting & Waffling {2019} Let's get to know each other!

Morning, Ladies! Does anyone know if the challenge rewards have been sent out yet? I don't mean to be anxious, but I can't help it.

Re: Thread: Everyday Chatting & Waffling {2019} Let's get to know each other!

They have not as far as I know, It is generally the middle of the month.

Re: Thread: Everyday Chatting & Waffling {2019} Let's get to know each other!

Thanks, Katherine! I'm just entirely too impatient :)

Re: Thread: Everyday Chatting & Waffling {2019} Let's get to know each other!

I know what you mean, Lynn. I get impatient, too, waiting for stuff :)

Re: Thread: Everyday Chatting & Waffling {2019} Let's get to know each other!

I know Missi is out of town, on vacation.

Re: Thread: Everyday Chatting & Waffling {2019} Let's get to know each other!

I’m voting tomorrow in our provincial advance polls, and I am still confused about the whole thing. My daughters first time ever voting and she is so excited.

I got our tax tax stuff together and organized and am dropping off at accountants tomorrow. Took me 12 solid hours and that didn’t include all the time put into it, throughout the years.

I stopped all pop cold cold turkey last August and broke the drought this week, grrr to myself so disappointed.

It rained lots lots this morning, hoping it ends the snow mould. Early for rain though here.

Re: Thread: Everyday Chatting & Waffling {2019} Let's get to know each other!

Yes, Thank you, Michi.

It's suppose to rain here today, Sherri. It's been beautiful the last few days. It's was 85 yesterday! The high Saturday is suppose to be in the 40's. Yuck!

I'm going in for surgery this morning. I have to be there at 11:45. I'm not sure when I'll be on the computer next. I've been told I'll be given some pretty strong pain meds afterwards. Maybe I'll be back on in a couple of days. You ladies enjoy the day and I'll talk to you soon!

Re: Thread: Everyday Chatting & Waffling {2019} Let's get to know each other!

Lynn....good luck with the surgery, hope the recovery is quick. I've got a busy day of desk work (I work at home) and laundry to do but hope to fit in a bit of scrapping too. It's raining today so Taz will enjoy his walks (runs thru the puddles) but me, not so much :)
