Re: Thread: Everyday Chatting & Waffling {2019} Let's get to know each other!

Excuse any errors, I’m posting this from my phone. The Internet here and even the phone reception is very poor. But who cares we’re overlooking the harbor we have an incredible view and why would we need a phone and Internet anyway. The pace of life here is so different. It’s much slower, much, calmer, and the focus is on the little things in life. I really do like it. I often think about moving back, but I have children in both places and I have more children and a mother and a brother in America. I don’t know if I’ll ever move back here for sure, but I’ve been thinking about maybe getting a second house here and visiting a lot more often after I retire. Perhaps it’s just a pipe dream, but it’s a lovely one.

Re: Thread: Everyday Chatting & Waffling {2019} Let's get to know each other!

On The flipside, I have loads and loads and loads of pictures to scrap. And often as I’m taking them I think of the kids that I have that I can use. I think this is the perennial issue that a scrapper has when they’re taking pictures. The places that we’ve been and the people that we seen are breathtaking I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of taking pictures of England.

Re: Thread: Everyday Chatting & Waffling {2019} Let's get to know each other!

So glad you're having a lovely time, Lynnie! I can't wait to see England someday myself. :D

Re: Thread: Everyday Chatting & Waffling {2019} Let's get to know each other!

I am BACK! I have so much to scrap I can't breathe :) I am so excited. SO - watch out for layouts, but not for today, I just got back to work and I have over a thousand emails to catch up on.

Re: Thread: Everyday Chatting & Waffling {2019} Let's get to know each other!

Welcome back Lynnie glad you had a great time... can't wait to seesome of those photos, s get to scrapping... LOL

Ane have a great trip, and be safe... :)

Today hasn't been to bad but it has been trying to rain off and on all day, we are suppose to get some storms tonight, long as the electric doesn't go out I can handle the storms... I also sleep better when its raining and storming... But I don't want more rain we still aren't dried up from the last one, and lots of flooding by my daughter's house... she is up high enough it won't get to there house, but they might not be able to get out if it gets much higher... And then they had trees down and had no electric for quit a while but they do have generators... but we need some good weather for awhile... :( hope it gets better soon.
Got some challenges done, but need to do a few more so will be working on that, nothing better then scrapping and listening to the rain... :) Well you Ladies all have a great night... I'll be back soon. BYE :)

Happy Mother's Day everyone!

Re: Thread: Everyday Chatting & Waffling {2019} Let's get to know each other!

I did have a nice, safe trip, thank you! We went to New Orleans to visit my in-laws and see my nephew's graduation. Just got back a few hours ago. :)

Re: Thread: Everyday Chatting & Waffling {2019} Let's get to know each other!

Glad you had a good time, Ane. That was a quick trip, it seems as though you just left!

Re: Thread: Everyday Chatting & Waffling {2019} Let's get to know each other!

The site seems so quiet. Is everyone recovering from NSD?

Re: Thread: Everyday Chatting & Waffling {2019} Let's get to know each other!

I don't know what's going on, but it does seem quiet. Hmm.

Re: Thread: Everyday Chatting & Waffling {2019} Let's get to know each other!

Saw a new anesthesiologist last week and he seems to think he might be able to do a nerve block to help my daughters pain. Fingers crossed for us or prayers on the 27th please.

Went and saw my mom yesterday, she didn’t know who I was, asked the same questions numerous times. It was sad.

Im ticked the final game of thrones has been leaked, I’m ifnoring everything to do with it in hopes it doesn’t get spoiled for me.

My husbands hours at work have been cut again. Not good at all.

Re: Thread: Everyday Chatting & Waffling {2019} Let's get to know each other!

Sheri, I certainly hope that helps your daughter. She has had a rough time of it.

I remember when my father-in-law stopped knowing who we were. He always thought I was his wife who died and he wanted to escape the facility where we had him. I would always let him go wherever he wanted to go with his imagination and followed right along. It was sad, but it was escape for both of us from the terrible reality that was his life. As he deteriorated, I used to sing to him. Even when he remembered little else, he remembered music. He would often try to join in. Again, it was an escape from the reality of his life.

I really feel for you. It is hard watching someone you love deteriorate. I cannot even imagine seeing my mother go through that, it would break my heart. I wish we could offer more than a caring thought.

I really have to catch up on GOT. I am so far behind on the TV series. I have read the books, but of course, they were never finished. At least I cannot spoil it for you :)

Sorry to hear about your husband's hours. That is tough.

Re: Thread: Everyday Chatting & Waffling {2019} Let's get to know each other!

Yes, it seems very quiet here lately.

Sherri, So sorry to hear of your father-in-law. I know from my own experience with my grandmother, letting them go where they need it is the best way and it helps both to cope. Glad your daughter has some hope of pain relief. My hubby is still waiting to see a surgeon, may take a year and then we don't know if surgery will be an option or even help.

My family is just getting over a nasty virus that has lasted 2 weeks+...so not much happening here. I am hoping I can get started on spring clean-up soon but my energy level is low these days.

On a brighter note, my younger son is graduating from University with a degree in Kineseology and we couldn't be happier for him to start his career.

Hoping eveyone is well and enjoying the weekend!

Re: Thread: Everyday Chatting & Waffling {2019} Let's get to know each other!

Karen, why is your husband waiting for a year to see a surgeon? That seems like such a long time, especially if he is in pain.

I am not getting over a virus and I have no energy either. I am trying to remember to take my vitamins, eat properly and get enough sleep, but I don't know that that is helping a lot. I have no idea WHY is am so tired.

Congratulations on your son's degree. That is a very good degree to have these days, I understand there are lot of positions open that require that degree. They require it in my retirement community for all employees working in the health club. They even have to have kineseology, specializing in old folks. :)

Re: Thread: Everyday Chatting & Waffling {2019} Let's get to know each other!

Lynnie, my hubby has a back injury from years ago that forced him into early retirement. It takes that long to see a surgeon here and it is just crazy that people must bear the pain of the medical system along with their own pain.

Thanks for the wishes for my son...his convocation is in June so I am sure I will have lots of photos to scrap. and he loves working with seniors, such a caring soul!

Re: Thread: Everyday Chatting & Waffling {2019} Let's get to know each other!

What a week!

Mum was in emergency yesterday - I did not think it was an emergency, but the Coumadin clinic said to take her immediately. She had swelling and redness in her feet and bad headaches, they were afraid of a blood clot. She has an infection and slightly restricted blood flow to her feet, so we have to see a vein specialist. We were there from 10am to 7pm. I was pretty glad to get home :)

In addition our dog was having issues - without going into too many details, our carpet was a disaster! I tried to scrub everything before I went to the hospital. My husband had to take Belle to emergency when he got home from work.

When we finally got everyone home, I went to do the dishes and the sink backed up - kitchen was out of bounds the whole night! It was one thing after another. I had to laugh.

Today, all is good. Mum is home, Belle is doing well and the drains are fixed. Life is wonderful.

Re: Thread: Everyday Chatting & Waffling {2019} Let's get to know each other!

Oh Lynnie, thankful that everything has worked out! :amen:

Re: Thread: Everyday Chatting & Waffling {2019} Let's get to know each other!

Glad everything came out ok, Lynnie! :)

What's everyone up to this weekend? We did some shopping today and DD is having friends over to celebrate the end of school. Tomorrow will be church and family time, then Monday we're picking strawberries and having friends over for homemade ice cream in the evening. :)

Re: Thread: Everyday Chatting & Waffling {2019} Let's get to know each other!

Ane, sounds like some fun summer time is coming up...love homemade icecream.

Today I finally got back on my bike...feels so good to get outside. Did some gardening but still a little to early to plant, maybe a nother week or two.

Since we have been ill for almost 4 weeks with a terrible virus, I missed Mother's Day with the kids! :( so tomorrow we are going over for dinner. :)

Hope everyone is enjoying the weekend!

Re: Thread: Everyday Chatting & Waffling {2019} Let's get to know each other!

What is everyone up to this fine holiday weekend?

I had a million errands for my mother on Friday morning (taking her to doctor, eye doc, pharmacy, grocery store, bank and I forget where else.)

Friday afternoon, I had a friend's birthday party (with fancy hats and a belly dancer).

Saturday was the Royal Ascot Lunch and Fashion Show (with fancy hats and for which I was responsible for table decorations and photo backdrops!)

Saturday Evening with kids

Sunday is church and dropping off / picking up family at Scot Fest

Monday is my friend's birthday and we are celebrating her birthday all day.

Re: Thread: Everyday Chatting & Waffling {2019} Let's get to know each other!

Sounds like you all had a good weekend, Mine went pretty good... Weather was nice so was outside a lot, I did fall playing frisbee with my grand-daughter, but don't think I hurt anything, will see how I feel in the morning, might have a bruise... Also got a call and my youngest grandson fell and broke his leg, playing on the trampoline, but is taking it well, sees a specialist tomorrow and gets the cast put on. Otherwise a good long weekend... Yard got mowed and looks great... Puppies are happy because they have been able to be outside more... Well heading off of here... will try and check in again soon you all have a great week!! :)

Re: Thread: Everyday Chatting & Waffling {2019} Let's get to know each other!

My friend Pam and I spent yesterday at San Juan Capistrano Mission for her birthday. It is so beautiful and peaceful. We wandered around the Los Rios historical district, ate lovely food, went shopping and finished off the day with a lovely coffee. Just perfect.

Re: Thread: Everyday Chatting & Waffling {2019} Let's get to know each other!

I've been MIA for a while - have been having stomach issues for a while now, and 2 1/2 weeks ago had to have gastric bypass surgery to fix the issues since none of the conservative treatments have been working. After surgery my stomach wasn't emptying normally so 2 days later had to have another surgery to fix the issue - 5 days in the hospital - where I work!!! That was interesting LOL. Anyway, I've been home for 2 weeks and saw my surgeon today for a follow up and he was quite impressed with how far I have come. He didn't think I would be as good as I am this quick. I go back to work 1/2 days tomorrow.

While all that was going on, I was ignoring my schoolwork and scrapbooking - but it is time to get back into things!! I finished a paper for the class I'm currently taking tonight and submitted it. This week (after my afternoon naps) I want to scrap a couple of pages and work on my next paper - hopefully having that ready to submit this weekend.

Kimb, so glad you are on the mend. :)

Lynnie, Sounds like a wonderful friend's day!

My husband used to be the youth minister at the SJC Mission parish in 1996-1997! I grew up goign to Latin Mass there once a month with my Momma.

And Los Rios street - such memories. We would go to the Los Rios Tea House all the time and drive through Los Rios, and then take the side roads home. You just gave me such a beautiful memory with my Momma!

Here's a page I did from Los Rios Street!

ACK - I can't find it now. DST is so hard to navigate - it was posted over there. I'll keep looking.

Well, I can't find it. I made this post public on my FB so you can see a few pics!

It shoudl be the first post on my wall!

I did not see it on your wall. I went back to last Friday. I love the Los Rios District, it is so interesting.

Goodness, Kim, sounds as though you have had a rough time of it!
