Re: Thread: Everyday Chatting & Waffling {2019} Let's get to know each other!
…..and now
I am laughing uncontrollably and spitting coffee all over the keyboard
OMGawd....ha ha....thx for the laugh. I can just picture that!
My mother is really funny and so unexpected sometimes. When my son was not doing well, before he died in 1996 (this is a funny story, I promise) my brother and I purchased some pot for him to help him feel better. This was before it was a common thing and you could buy it in the shops. When my mother asked us what we had got for Chris for Christmas, my brother TOLD her. I couldn't believe he told her!!!! She responded by saying "Oh, how very nice. ... Perhaps I could get him a little pipe or something."
My unexpected little mum!
We should have a chit chit chat thread about GoT, for the season. I always want to discuss it, and I’m the only one thatvis obsessed here too. I’m so looking forward but also dreading the end. There is going to be an aftershow at the end apparently to discuss hanging ends without resolution.
I have some serious catching up to do before I can discuss it. I will see if I can set aside some binge time to catch up!
My mom had two eye appointments this week, two hours driving for each. Her eyes are not degenerating more, which is good.
My son had parent teachers and the big complaint is he is brilliant but he doesnt try. He doesn’t hand in stuff.
Then he had a hair cut.
My girl irl has been battling a upper respiratory thing for two weeks now. Took her to walk in, they won’t test for influenza as it’s too expensive and we are one week beyond flu season. Grrrr. There was an X-ray to check for pnemonia and bronchitis. And she was given inhaler. Not helping cough at all.
My poor kids. Every time they get sick, I tell them "Take a Shower!" It has been a family joke for years. My daughter was thrilled when she got to use it on me for the first time haha.
My son had the same issue. He was ADHD - incredibly brilliant with no common sense and no urgency to follow through with anything. He would whip out homework in two seconds flat with every answer right and then forget to turn it in. It was an endless source of torture for me.
We had similar issues with all the younger kids, but put them through a school boot camp program that taught them techniques for remembering homework, writing things down, planning, etc. It has been a good thing for them in life in general. I would encourage you to find a similar program if you can. It was worth it.
Lynnie, that was just the laugh I needed this morning!
I don't watch Game of Thrones but my son does so he has it on often in the living room, looks like I could get into it but then I would have to binge watch it.
Mom's appointment went well but she may need eye surgery. We have to go back in June and re-do all the tests and then the surgeon will decide. That will be hard on her but hopefully her vision will get better or at least stable.
I hope both your mums are doing better with their eyes. We will keep them in our prayers here.
Well, my Survivor layout is in! Talk about a production! I had the backdrop with the castle. I have intended to use it for little photo shoots with my grandchildren. It was pretty creased, so I had to iron it! THEN, the only place we had a mirror that would work for this idea was in our closet area, which is pretty tight and narrow. it is a hallway between our bedroom and bathroom with mirrored closed doors on either side. Trying to put up the backdrop in such a narrow area was not easy, to say the least. My husband was really patient. Then trying to get an angle that didn't have a closet door edge running through my head was hard. We were in hysterics with the angles doing the pictures, and then trying to do the first picture and not moving when I was swinging up the crown! I was explaining to a friend one day that I had quite a collection of crowns. I really could not explain why. There is no reason, I just ended up with crowns from Karen's dance days, my mother's birthday and various productions my husband has been in. I have a crown for every occasion.
Anyway, it took about 30 shots before I got a pair I could use. It was loads of fun to get.
