The second MRI of my arm was denied because the request was "too similar" to a previous MRI done on my shoulder last month were they found the rotator cuff tear. I'll have to call when I get a change to get it straightened out. I was hoping to get the results before going on vacation but that will not happen.

I'm so excited for this trip. We are leaving on Friday and heading to New Orleans port area. Our cruise to the Western Carribean leaves NOLA on Sunday. We will be returning the following Sunday. This trip was postponed due to Covid in May of 2020, so it's a long awaited vacation. What makes it more exciting is we are NOT taking the kids!!!! They are finally old enough to be left home by themselves and can be trusted to do so.
I will not have WiFi much while away. It is expensive and we bought some time so we can stay in contact with our kids.

If anyone sees notice that I won a contest, please let the host know I'll not be around until mid-April.

Stay safe and be well.

Anne-Marie, I am thankful to catch up with your news, I have been thinking about you, and once again feeling so sad that Lismore CBD and surrounds are today being evacuated again!! How much more can people take!! I am glad you have a good place to stay while you sort out the rest of your lives. Take care. Stay safe.

Hi everyone. I have been busy with packing up the house and getting ready for the big move. Tomorrow the movers come and the next day the cleaners come, then on Friday morning we head up to Kamloops for a night in a hotel before getting into the new house in the early morning of the 2nd to meet the moving truck to unload. Whew. Its a whirlwind of emotions thinking about all that has happened to us in the last two months (Bailey's passing, the long road trips to the new city to view homes for sale, packing up our home and selling). I'm looking forward to seeing what retirement really looks like, once we get settled in the new house. I'm looking forward to long hikes with the dogs in the grasslands (they start at the end of our block) and having relaxing mornings in the new home with Jen living on the bottom floor in a suite so we get to hang out together every day (including all 3 dogs).

I'm exhausted but doing ok with my back and other ailments but I'm so glad it's almost done and my health has held up during all the frantic activity.

I'll be back in April once we get internet hooked up. Take care everyone. See you soon.

Heard from my doctor again today. The spot in my lungs is suspicious, so I get more imaging and a biopsy. Fun times! The spot on my spine is suspicious too, but I think the lung thing is more urgent. The thing on my liver is just a cyst that hasn't changed in 4 years. I am also getting a referral to a urologist for my kidney stone, but again, that's lower priority than the lung thing. I could use prayers, as I know most of you do too!

Anne-Marie, I'll continue to pray for you, and for you, Rae. Tough stuff happening out there in the world. <3

I really do miss not being active here but it is getting closer to a time that I will be back. We pick up my new laptop next week. They were able to save all my document and pictures (photos and digi things since January last year) from my desktop which the flood water went through. I am typing this post on a friends computer where we are now staying.

Last Wednesday 23rd we arrived in Toowoomba ( where we moved from just over 8 years ago) to stay with friends who have stated we can live with them for as long as needed. They are easy people to get along with and they have made lots of room in their home for us as their two daughters are grown up and no longer living at home.

The insurance estimator will be visiting our house on 13th April so hopefully not long after that we will know what direction to take. We are thinking if we end up with enough funds we will buy a unit in a retirement village.

With being back here in the town I grew up in, yesterday we went out to lunch with my last surviving Aunt to celebrate her 84th Birthday. She is so happy to have us back for now as she has missed us a lot.

It may not be long until you all see layouts featuring my photos from our life changing event.

Anne-Marie - that is so life changing! We moved to a retirement community for completely different reasons and I love it here. I hope you get the same pleasure out of moving there. Prayers you get a nice settlement. I look forward to seeing pages scrapped about this.

Lovely to see you pop in, Jill.

It sounds like a wonderful move, but I totally get the emotions that go with it. Hurry and get unpacked and send pics of your new place.

Well, that is disturbing! I think a prayer or two is in order. Big hugs, prayers and best wishes for a positive outcome.

Can I just ditto everything Lynnie said, word for word. I don't know how to do multiple quotes, but she summed it up wonderfully. My girl is feeling really down, lonely, and her pain has increased for some reason. I am keeping a close eye on her. The boy only wants to play video games. Kids Dad finally went back to work, but the pain from his fall that was almost gone with a month off work has come back, finances, OMG, pennie pinching is a real deal. One step forward and a bunch back.
Having a nice snow squal tonight with high winds, rain and snow, and insomnia.
I finished Scrapathon with 31 LO and Gingerscraps design team requirements for April. I should be able to relax later today (Thursday).

Haven't checked in lately, Mom is hospitalized and we are sorting things out. Things have been busy and very straining on my mental health. I really wanted to participate in the scrap-a-thon but unfortunately had no time to scrap lately except for my CT layouts. :(

I hope everyone is well and I pray April brings better news.

just barely squeaked across the challenge line, i've been meaning to do pages for three days and everything has been SO terribly messy. my push hard at the start meant that i could bang out 7 pages today, several of which made me ugly cry. i am hoping that it'll start getting better with the move saturday, tomorrow's invoicing and a guaranteed fatality, it's gonna be extra ugly, but BECAUSE i am moving, i am setting hard boundaries, and they can like it or lump it.

I am so sorry she is feeling down. Pain sometimes increases when your spirits are low and that is all you really have to focus on. She is such a lovely young lady, I am so sad for her. Video games are the ultimate escape, I think. I don't do video games, but I have been known to lose myself in a word game on my phone when I'm feeling low. Penny pinching is a challenge, especially when prices are increasing everywhere. You are getting a double whammy. Then the weather -- oh my goodness.

It sounds as though you have a lot on your shoulders. I wish I could give you a big hug, too.

Just remember, scrapping is optional and you don't have to finish challenges, particularly when the make you ugly cry :) Scrapping should be loads of fun. I actually decided no more CT work, no more challenges for a while. I am giving myself some space without pressure. Perhaps you could do the same for a little while. If you can't take a break from CT work, at least do the minimum, then scrap for pleasure the rest of the time.

Anyway, I am getting ready to leave for England... I am not taking my computer, so no scrapping while I am there :) I can login here and comment, though :)

It was definitely a good decompression and I'm pleased I managed it, usually it's ok, just pages about grandma are still very touch and go for me. I love them, but they make me cry. I am surprised I still have half-functioning internet here, it was supposed to go to the new house because I couldn't get it transfered on a saturday... so I'm gonna have to see how long it holds.

First day of moving is over. We ended up going to Italy with the dogs because it's absolute carnage. We got the majority of things transferred some are even on the right floor. 66 flights of stairs today, I am in pieces. Tomorrow we need to bring the last six or so car loads. There might still be some things in the garage, but I'm not super worried about having THAT empty as much as I am getting the house itself emptied of all things and starting to get the new place set up. For the moment, the beds are physically in the right places, and that's about it.

Sylfie, how's your moving going? 66 flights of stairs is nuts! Make sure you take some time to recover from all this when you're done. :)

Me, I spent a few hours Friday morning in the ER with intense abdominal and back pain. I learned that my kidney stone had moved and is now blocking the tube that leads out of the kidney. So I am having a procedure done on this Friday to hopefully blast it to oblivion so it can pass safely. Prayers and positive thoughts are appreciated, as I'm being knocked out for this.

As always, I pray for you all. Take care! <3

The move has been really difficult I am only now almost done with the kitchen I am missing a box which has my steamer and I have a sneaking suspicion it is underneath every other box that belongs everywhere else in the house but I have the pantry set up and the spice rack done which accounted for 10 bags of stuff so that’s well done and I’ve unpacked five large boxes and a dozen smaller ones with the flatware and all of the plates. The stove is induction so far I have found one of my frying pans which is compatible. We also had a absolute nightmare a couple of days ago Macchiata got caught up on her bed and she fell and hit the floor very hard. She was semi conscious and mostly limp. I drove her to the nearest vet and had her there within 15 to 20 minutes and she was still very out of it they kept her for 24 hours under intense Pharma therapy and I went to get her Tuesday morning. She seems to be doing okay she is a little clingier than normal but it looks like she’ll make a full recovery and now that the medication effect is wearing off her personality is starting to come back. The vet was also concerned she had diabetes because her numbers were all over the place so we sent a secondary blood sample for analysis and it came back clean she’s okay she does not have diabetes but the vet suggests that she might benefit from a home-cooked diet So we’re gonna need to look into that. She even barked at a passing dog today, so she must be on the mend. One of my two couches does not fit up the staircase, so it is currently in my garage and I need to figure out if I can take it apart and get out of the staircase or if I will have to sell it.

I still don’t have my office completely set up or an all set up really I’m using my partners desk because it was easier to put together as a temporary fix. I am going to give it another few hours today to try and get things in order here and then we are going to go down to my partners house in Italy so that I can get some scrapping done and relax a little bit because it has been a very intense week.

Syl! I'm so sorry about Macchiata! That had to be so scary. Glad she's doing better. Give her an extra squeeze for me. Harley has diabetes and it's not terrible, but it is a rather PIA. Just shots every day. Sorry about the couch. Hope you can figure something out. Make sure you get some rest in between minor catastrophes.

Ane, praying for your procedure. Hope your pain eases up before and after.

Nothing much new or different here. Don't know if I told y'all that Anne made the pro women's football team here in MN. That's American football. Well, they start their games on Saturday, so we'll be attending those for the next couple months. The season is VERY short compared to men's. Only about 2+ months. The MN team is quite good and she's thrilled to be part of it. She's on defense and probably the smallest player, but she's FEISTY! (like her mom, some would say!)

Ane, hoping things are better for you and take care in your recovery.

Sylfie, Sorry to hear about Macchiata, glad things are going better. Your move sounds exhausting, hope you are getting some rest in, take care!

Things are moving really slow with my Mom's care and she does not like it there. It is hard to see her for only an hour a day and she is only allowed two visitors per day, one at a time so I have to share. Her memory is getting fuzzier these days which adds to her confusion of where she is and why. I am hoping her assessment is done soon and we can work towards getting her back into her condo. For me, I am doing OK but it is really hard to keep it together sometimes.

Spring is not moving along, into April and we had snow yesterday! The streets are a mess and the mounds of snow are still high but the birds are singing and the geese are back.

I will check in again soon , have a wonderful weekend everyone!

Karen, I'm so sorry. I know it must be so hard. You know it's okay sometimes NOT to be okay... sometimes. You need to find someone to "break down" with. I know that's not always easy, but who can pull you back out of your funk in case you get stuck. It's really hard for us caregivers to be strong all the time. We have to allow for the "break".

Our spring is not "springing" here either. Of course, nothing like what y'all have. Our mounds are pretty much gone except where they've been pushing them all off too all winter.

Hi ladies. We are moved into the new house and the billions of boxes to unpack is daunting but I am getting a bit done each day. New furniture purchasing and deliveries have been ongoing but by next wk we should have most of what we need delivered. The new appliances came last night so I can start cooking again. I am still unpacking the kitchen but I have enough unpacked to manage for now. I love the weather here (Kamloops, BC), it gets windy which the dogs love and I love the dry weather (not much rain here). I haven't had a chance to get out and take any photos yet but maybe later on the wkend I'll get the camera out.

Sylfie - Hope the unpacking goes quickly (I sure can relate). It's exhausting but will be good when its all done.

I haven't scrapped much at all for the last few months as we dealt with our family tragedy and then with the big move. I know soon I'll be more settled here and am going to love the new city. Looking forward to exploring it.

I got a LO done yesterday and will slowly find some time to get back into it as the month goes by. Just wanted to pop in and say hi. I need to get back to unpacking. BFN

Rae and Sylfie, I'm relieved to see that things are going okay for you. It's always good with such massive projects to go slowly and take plenty of breaks. I'm no stranger to moving, so I know the impulse to just dive in and get it all done too quickly.

To everyone, thank you for your prayers and positive thoughts. The procedure went well and the kidney stone disintegrated before their eyes. I have not had any trouble passing the fragments. And, after taking a look at my CT scan, the pulmonologist (lung doctor) wants to see me. So now I am on my way to getting that mystery solved too. My biggest complaint now? Sometime in the last week I caught a bad head cold, LOL.

Happy Sunday, lovely ladies! Hope you all have a wonderful day. Spring is trying to bloom here, but the weather has been so windy and cold, even though the sun is shining. I've been home recovering from a small procedure. I am getting lots of rest and the hubster and the girl child both have gone out of their way to do kind things for me... including starting to work on the massive piles in the basement! WHOO HOO! These piles all belong to the hubster and he's promised for years to tackle them... so they worked on them for a couple of hours yesterday and apparently plan to take things out to the dumpster / recycle today. Here's hoping they don't lose momentum. Ha. I plan on sleeping and scrapping today, but not quite sure about tomorrow. I know I need to go into the office, at least for the staff meeting. But there's no way I'll make it a full work day.

I finished a couple of the books I was reading and I'm caught up on my podcast, so I will look for the next book to read today. When I'm more recovered, I also need to pick up some spring flowers to plant. I tried to plan Forget Me Not seeds left over my mother's funeral, but they are not germinating. So I'm hoping to find some nice, bright happy pansies.

I went on a super shopping binge today with my Scrapathon winnings and got a whoooooole bunch of new toys to play with. I am super excited to play, but FIRST I really need to get my office finished 100% it's one of the last rooms that is still in absolute pieces. I need to put together a bookshelf and my desk, and find where my other bookshelf-desk-extender is currently living. I WANT to get a new or new-to-me desk, but that hasn't happened yet, so I'm gonna have to just set up what I have and make a decision about what would make my office space "perfect" for me. I am kind of thinking maybe having an L would be ok with the short _ on the wall, but am pretty indecisive about it. So until I can decide what would make me happier, I am just gonna have to get what I can in place.

Work, however, made me super frustrated. I mean, yay, I was working from home, but boo, because a meeting ran over the top of my lunch by an hour, and an inconsiderate coworker made me stay over the end of my day by an hour asking questions I knew about as much as she did. It was HER department first, I came in as a pinch-hitter, so why am I now the expert + her manager? Oh right. Because she doesn't show up on time, doesn't try, and doesn't reach goals. That's right. My bad. Grrrrr.

I need to get some scrapping done tonight, so I need to get myself and my office in order to facilitate that! Goals, anyway.

I just returned from a lovely Spring Break get away. Now it's time to get to work scrapping again! Utah weather was extreme...it was in the 80's our first day and by the time we left, 22 degrees and SNOW! But, it was fun! I'm off to the challenges sections to get some motivation!

Good morning ladies. I'm slowly getting the unpacking done and exploring the new city. Still haven't got my PC hooked up yet but hopefully this wkend sometime. I can't remember if I packed my card reader with the computer stuff but hope so. I would love to upload the photos I took yesterday of some little birds, hawks and eagles. There is still a lot of unpacking to do but I try to unpack for at least 3-4 hours every day and then spend a few hours sorting and figuring out where things will go. I keep reorganizing the kitchen LOL.

The weather is great. Its been sunny every day. I know we'll get a bit of rain here and there but not much (semi-desert climate). So far the neighbors have been friendly and the neighborhood is really quiet.

Sylfie - I bet the shopping was fun :)
Kim - our weather hasn't been that extreme but it is all over the place, we had snow flurries, then sunny warmth and then a snow blizzard up in the hills about 5 minutes from home.

I'm going to get another coffee, get dressed and get on with my day. Have a good day everyone.

Happy Monday, All!

For those who celebrate Easter or Passover, I hope you've had good celebrations. We took our daughter and a friend to see a fun play called The Play That Goes Wrong. We all had a blast. The weather has been cold and rainy, so yesterday was spent at home working on house chores and napping. It was great to have a quiet day at home. I'll be on the road all this week for work. Friday night I will attend the wedding of one of my former interns, and Saturday I'm shooting prom pictures for my nephews and their tribe. So I'll be putting lots of miles on the car and listening to audio books as I drive. Hope everyone has a great day! :)

Daughter and family left on Friday for their "holiday" weekend with his family. So, without the grand babies (age 3 and 1) not running around, Grandpa and I had a wonderful quiet weekend together. Every once in awhile, those are really needed!

Today, I've been blessed to look through photos of their fun while hearing the pitter patter of their feet this morning!

:)

We had a nice, quiet weekend too. Hubby took Thursday and Friday off, so we went and explored places in nearby St. Louis. Saturday we saw a movie and went shopping. Sunday was our Easter service at church, and I sang in the choir. It was lovely! After that, I had a nap and we had a nice afternoon and evening together as a family.

This week, I don't have much planned besides an MRI on Thursday. I don't think I've had one of those before, so it should be interesting.

Have a great week everyone! :)

I posted a long update on what has been going on and i got en error message when I tried to post it. Basically, I came to England, got COVID and now I am dealing with the difficulties getting back to the US :). I will post a longer update when I am up to it! WIsh me luck and keep me in your prayers.
