We have finally tested negative and have booked our flights home for Tuesday. I am so happy. It has been lovely here, so close to the grandkids and my sisters, but I will be glad to get home this time. I am seldom delighted to leave, but I need a proper rest to recover from this.

Now our final hurdle is getting that last COVID test done.

Last night I finished my first layout since end of February and my first one on my new laptop. I handled the small 15 inch screen okay.

OH MY Anne Marie!!! Look at that. I knew it was bad, but that puts it in such horrible perspective.

I remember when the Red River flooded in Grand Forks in 1997. We were sitting in the hospital (for my dad) and my brothers were watching the TV about this fire that they couldn't get to due to the floodwaters. My older brother just shot up and sorta screamed (under his breath) "THAT'S MY APARTMENT!"

I feel for you. Wouldn't want to live through that again either. Glad you got your new computer and are scrapping again.

Anne-Marie, I know exactly what you are going through. We have been experiencing unprecedented snow and rainfalls in April. We had slight flooding in our basement this past weekend and currently had a short hiatus with a cold snap but this weekend we are having 3 days of downpours. Many people have received so much more than us and we all feel so helpless. We spent this week taking out part of our ruined carpeting and drying out things that we salvaged. So much work and at such a stressful time with my Mother now waiting for placement in a long-term care home. I am so stressed to the MAX having to deal with flooding amongst having to clean out Mom's condo for sale ASAP.

Carla, I remember Grand Forks all to well, everything from the Red River flows to us north in Winnipeg and we had the "Flood of the Century" that year. So many people suffered however they have put in so many measures to alleviate massive flooding again so fingers crossed, that we don't have that happen this year!

I hope things improve for you Anne-Marie and so happy to hear you got out before things got worse.

Goodness, Anne-Marie! My heart goes out to you! Great page, by the way. (((HUGS)))

I got good news Monday- my kidney stone is definitely all gone. :) I see the pulmonologist about my lung situation tomorrow. I hope he agrees to biopsy the nodule.

I am so excited to be home :) REALLY excited. I rested Wednesday, got a massage and doctor appt Thursday and it is Friday and I am still in my pajamas :) HOME at last. I have so much to scrap though.

Tomorrow is my High School 50 Year reunion and I am on the committee. I am so glad I got most of the work done before I left for England, but I do have a few things to catch up with, which is my goal today.

Anne-Marie, a big hug to you. I hope all goes well from here out.

Anne-Marie big hug and hope things are still proceeding forward.
Ane so glad your kidney stone is gone.

I got a new to me used stove yesterday, required removing the old one cleaning under it and behind it, and then getting the new one in. Its convection and I have never used that kind before, any tips? Chicken breasts I did last night were so dry. LOL.

I am not feeling great, pain in my body seems to be everywhere. Not sure if I have just been overdoing things, or a fibro flare, or the weather, but I just ache everywhere, and the headache is wicked.

My girl has got some good news lately which has really cheered her up. Thankfully.

My boy has his friend visiting as he is on a break from work for a few days.

We had an old family friend pass away from cancer last week, and the owner (Patriarch) of the company my husband works for pass away on the same day, and the funerals are same day in different cities at the same time.

I did a 5k walk last saturday, no running for me. But so proud of myself.

Ane, So happy for your good news on the kidney issue. :)

Welcome back Lynnie, glad you had a great trip. Your reunion sounds wonderful, Enjoy!

Sherri, So sorry to hear of the passing of your friend and husband's boss, so much loss is hard. Take care!

Things are getting wet here today, more rain from a Colorado low coming in for the next 3 days and we are still experiencing some flooding. Pray that the rain will stop for my house and the whole province under floods!

Sherri, convections cook with air so your meals are going to need a lot more liquid and make sure you cover everything loosely so you don't end up with a mess. Check out pinterest and youtube and various recipe sites for good recipes. I don't use ours very often just because I'm so used to using the the old-fashioned oven, I've never wanted to switch.

Happy Saturday, all!

We had a lot of severe weather last night, but luckily our community missed the worst of it. Tornadoes touched down in some towns and caused a lot of damage. Today continued to be windy and much colder than it had been. We have a high school ElectroRally event on Monday, and I'm hoping that the weather will cooperate for those students!

I started watching a couple new shows... one is from Japan and it follows little kids running errands for their parents. It's called "Old Enough." Each episode is less than 15 min, and the kids are surrounded by crew and camera men. But some of the kids have been as young as 2 or 3 years old. It's pretty cute, though. I also finished up the Great Pottery Throw Down that's filmed in England. That show is always fun and creative. I've never thrown pottery before. With as messy as that hobby is, I'll stick to digital scrapbooking! Hubby has the remote now and he's watching shows from the Marvel Universe. Ha.

Hubby and I did attend the Vincent Van Gogh Immersive Exhibit in Kansas City this week. It wasn't quite what I thought it would be, but we still enjoyed it. I'll post a scrapbook page on that in the next few days.

Hope everyone is having a relaxing and happy weekend!

@ Shana My daughter went to the Van Gogh and I've done a couple layouts of her at it. Where is the Great Pottery Throw Down found? We love the shows like that. There is one that is about glass blowing that is fantastic.

WTH - I haven't heard a thing about flooding over there. It was gorgeous and such a may day today here, hoping you get this weather soon.

Thanks Carla, I think I will be using the basic oven too, I have already burned stuff with convection. LOL, not that I don't anyway, but still, It is nice to have a dependable oven. really nice.

Yup... I've watched Blown Away, as well. Great show. Anything that shows creative people solving challenges and making things are shows I LOVE. (Project Runway, all the baking shows, etc).

I watch The Great Pottery Throwdown on HBOMax. I think there's five seasons now. I also like to watch The Repair Shop where experts restore loved and cherished items for people.

Hi everyone! Sherri, I also went to a Van Gogh immersive experience. It was very cool! I *think* I scrapped those pictures. I am a big art lover, so of course we had to check it out.

Well, the weird growth in my lung has only a 12-20% chance of being cancer, so that is good news. I'm going to get another scan of it, a PET scan, woo hoo! That will tell if it is cancer, I think. I'm hoping for good news.

I need to get going on some challenges this month! I have to do it before my sons and their families come later on. So of course we're prepping and cleaning like crazy. I'm so excited they'll be here for Eren's graduation! :)

My son watches the Japan show, it is fun to watch. We have been to Japan and the culture there is so different.

The Vincent Van Gogh experience is coming here too, I might check it out.

I am praying that your scans come back with good news, how scary for you!

It is finally getting to be a normal Spring here but there are still places that have had overland flooding and the people are displaced. I pray for the farmers, last year their crops were hit with drought and this year flooding. This is going to mean higher prices for our fresh produce. Northern Quebec is now under a blizzard warning today...Global Warming sucks!

I always seems so busy and yet it seems like nothing is getting done. Organized the basement a little on Saturday because the overflow while we were on vacation, things got moved around.
Most of my bedroom is still unorganized because of the move (yes, still unpacking) and that we put together the corner desk.
Going from a super large bedroom to a bedroom that barely fits a bed, one dresser and a small desk means there is no room for anything! :(

Hope everyone is doing well. Still working Monday and Wednesday nights which leaves that much less time to do anything. Uugh!

Lily Ann... I understand that unpacking can take forever. There was a time in my life I was moving for my job every 3-6 months. As a young professional, I learned not to accumulate too much stuff so that way most of my belongings could fit in my car. But now... hubby has lived in his house for more than 20 years. I've lived in that house for 12 years. It's unreal how much "stuff" we have collected... and how much of it we never use. I'm the type that likes to purge... too many things around me drives me nuts. I like a clean space where everything has its own home. Hubby, however, likes to hold onto anything and everything that he's ever touched... receipts, tags off of clothes, cords to electronics we no longer own, every computer/laptop/printer/speaker he's ever had. I wish I could get him to part with some of the stuff so we could use all of the rooms of our house (many rooms are just his storage rooms... unorganized and cluttered so he has no idea what's actually in them). It's the only thing we ever fight about. There are days I would like to just have a really large bonfire..... hmmmm....

@shana I have threatened to rent one of those big huge green bin garbage mobile units and clear the clutter out that way. I hate it too. I just don't know how to handle it.

Alexis was nominated for a Mayor's Award for Community Building and was notified she will receive it in June, she is so happy about that. I am too, I might have cried, at her hard work being recognized.

How's everyone's weekends going?

Mine's going pretty well. I woke up early so I went with hubby to the weekly farmer's market that's set up here. After we took our haul home, we went to pick strawberries at a local farm. Then we did some housework to get ready for the family coming in 10 days. Now, we're waiting for our child to finish getting ready for prom so we can go take pictures of them and their friends.

Tomorrow will be church, where it's my turn to teach a Sunday School lesson to 14 & 15-year-olds. Then I think we're going to take it easy, because today has been long, but good.

Alexis is in Prince Edward Island at a Students Conference this weekend, I am busy monitoring her posts and envying her. Prince Edward Island is Canada's smallest province, an island on the east coast of Canada, surrounded by the atlantic ocean. She has now touched Canads Pacific, Atlantic and Arctic Oceans. She is loving it there.

Austin has a friend over playing video games, and I am absolutely relaxing. I got my hair cut on Thursday which I needed.

Just popping in to say hi, hope everyone is good. I have been super busy with clearing out my Mom's condo to get ready for sale. My Mom...the collector of everything, sad to sell it all. The weather here is back to normal temperatures and I even have quite a few buds coming up in the garden. I did a lot of cutting back and transplanting last year so happy to see they made it over our exceptionally brutal winter. Hope to get some photos soon and maybe scrap a page or two. Have a wonderful Sunday!

I just dropped in to say that I never really got well from my spell with COVID in England. I have a bad cough which keeps me up at night, shortness of breath, low oxygen and a rapid pulse. The doc put me on antibiotics to see if that will help, but we will try a few other things if that doesn't help. It has been over a month now and I am really ready to get well.

I have rested a lot, but definitely had a few things I had to get done. I had my high school 50th reunion, which was huge, mother's day, what would have been my Chris's 50th and have been babysitting a little. I have a Bible Study retreat coming up at the weekend, and our monthly Daughters of the British Empire tomorrow. I spend most days being in my room with my feet up. My husband has been an angel.

I have caught up with my reading, but am not really up to much commenting. BIG HUG.

Not sure if anyone saw the mass shooting at the Geneva Presbyterian Church in Laguna Woods. That is my community and the church is a little more than a mile from us. My friend, Pam and I have attended special services there. The shooting was at a banquet for the Taiwanese church there.

We heard the sirens and helicopters, but were never in danger. I don't know if I know anyone who was there, so I am not in the middle of any of this, but it always shakes you up with it being so close to something like that. I teach a graphics class and over half my students are Chinese or Taiwanese. I can't help wondering if any of them were there.

Life is short and unpredictable. We need to always be kind and treat each other well.
