We heard about those darned falling iguanas when we were down in Clearwater several years ago. SO FUNNY, but not funny. Can't imagine being hit by one though. Geez.

There's some nasty weather coming into the East Coast. Everyone be safe!

We're holding our own here in MN.

Oh my goodness, I am so tired of the cold weather, isn't it time for spring yet?

In related news, this year will be the first time that I am actually interested in the Super Bowl for the game, it is the first time that my team has been in the big game since I was a kid. And, I have to admit that I'm excited about it. Who Dey!!

A friend from Miami posted one early this morning that had fallen on its back on the sidewalk. Such a strange thing to see.

Alberta specifically where I life in Alberta has another snow squall warning out, Alberta just doesn't get squalls let alone in Feb. I think we have had more precipitation from rain this month than from snow. Seeing the Eastern USA snow, and how much more than us, was strange.

We are enjoying a warmer-than-usual day in Kansas today, but winter weather is coming later this week. We've already stocked up on supplies so we don't have to leave the house if it gets bad.

Despite the Kansas City Chiefs losing their game yesterday, I had a good weekend. I FINALLY finished my 2021 scrapbook and it's ready to upload to Shutterfly and be printed. HOWEVER... because I was so excited about getting it all done, I showed my dear hubby my pages. He decided to have an opinion about which pages made the final cut into the album and asked why certain photos were not used. I suggested that he was welcome to make his own scrapbook and he could put in his photos and tell his memories of the events. (Beating head on wall). He has now asked me to show him how to put together a page. So that should be a comical (and short) experience. But who knows... maybe he'll surprise me. Wish me luck.

@breoni have fun with that, congrats on getting 2021 finished already.

‘’I have a book in progress just need to sort it out. I don’t remember how to do the pages so they don’t get cut off. Any advice?

Hello Scrapping Family!

We are doing well here over all. I enjoyed having some quiet time last week, while Hubby was gone with my Dad. We have had extra cold weather here in Tennessee, too, and even had a snow Friday evening, that we were not expecting.

I started with some congestion on Saturday... thought it was just allergies, but yesterday, started feeling really wiped out and achy, and a lot of sinus pressure... I'm not thinking it is covid, because I don't have most of the symptoms, but who knows. Hoping not... and that it will just all be gone in a couple days.

Other than that, I'm good. I added a new job to my plate, last week. I signed on as a Norwex consultant. Super excited about this new opportunity.

My Carla is still waiting to hear about the job at Cracker Barrel. (the manager that interviewed her, quit the day after, so they said, it would be a bit, while they try to get organized). I know if that is not the place for her, there will be something else. My son, Teddy's follow-up appointment after the procedure on his arm was good. Not sure yet, when they will schedule the next one, but it is all good. :)

Oh and on one other positive note... I have lost 10 pounds this month! So I'm pretty excited about that! :36_1_33:

You all have a good week. Try to stay warm and praying for those who are sick to be well soon, and for those grieveing and struggling to have peace.

I dont often post in here but do occasionally catch a post or two in the "what's new" list that entices me to pop in.. this time it was the frozen falling iguanas that attracted my attention...the phenomenon actually made the news way down here in Aus!!

Life is moving along. Feeling very tired lately. I've been sleeping in my new recliner because my arm seems to be getting worse and not better. Can turn on it in bed because it hurts and hurts more when I wake after sleeping on it. I went to get x-rays of my arm and knee. Remember when I feel up the stairs a few weeks ago! The knee shows osteoarthritis. Doctor is recommending shots in my knee (not cortisone but a medicine for osteoarthritis). Going for an MRI tomorrow for my arm. X-ray showing nothing abnormal. Doc prescribed anti-inflammatory medicine. Also, the last month or so I've had a flare up of restless leg syndrome. I've had that before and was on medicine for it back shortly after Philip was born. It was so bad last night that I had to get up and walk around a little, had a little snack and I turned on a show and fell asleep within 1/2 hour. Boy, I don't remember restless leg feeling like that... antsy and wanting to move so badly that I couldn't get to sleep.

Hello Ladies!
Wow! Never heard of falling Iguanas.... it is kind of funny. Here we have very cold weather and snow, schools have been closed. I just go out to go to the doctor and grocery store when needed. I just can't take the cold these days. Arthritis, and lately blood pressure issues. So been to the doctor a lot lately, But we are finally getting it down some, More pills which I hate... But gotta do what you gotta do. Sending prayers for all those that need them... so much going on in this world. You all stay safe and healthy. Try to stop by again soon. Have a great week ladies!

Just thought I would pop in and say praying for each of you and your problems. I haven't felt good the last 5 days. I also thought I just had allergy issues or a head cold. headache and watery eyes and nose. I finally took a covid test Sunday when it started getting worse and it said I had Covid. I have talked to my doctor and to my husband's medical team. He is supposed to have a biopsy surgery on Thursday. They did say if he tests positive on Thursday, he can still have the surgery, but I cannot go with him. I have one of the family that said they would take him needed. I am feeling a little better today than the last two days. Other than that, we are doing fine.

Thanks! There's a couple of things you can do so pages won't get cut off. For me, I always build my pages so that the text isn't close to the edge (I set a border guide about .5 inch from each edge. That way, if the page gets trimmed, it doesn't cut into the journaling.

Another option in Shutterfly is to pick a layout that allows a small border around the page. Typically, when I upload my layouts into Shutterfly, I fill the entire page with my layout. But you can adjust the size of the layout within Shutterfly.

I hope that helps! :)

@breoni have fun with that, congrats on getting 2021 finished already.

WoW! really in Australia! It's a real thing.... My son in law's sister posted some real encounters... from a weather forecaster here in Florida. Hoping the link will show here.

https://www.facebook.com/MattDevittWeather/

Many here, don't have the insulation in the houses or winter style clothing.
From the cold here on Sunday, we had frozen warning and frost...my car acted out and 3 lights from the engine came on. Long story short... it's a $500+ fixing job. ugh! I guess I have a "Southern mobile".
The good news is temperture to rise in the 70's today and 80's tomorrow.

WOW beoni! I don't wanna say "I h*** you" but you're done with 2021? I'm sorry... I loathe people who can actually get an entire year done that close to the end of the year. I admit it. I'm COMPLETELY JEALOUS! I think I'm caught up to about... November 2011. Yup. Mind you, I have a boatload of layouts done between 2011 and 2021, but no complete year done.
GOOD LUCK to your hubs! You simply MUST share one of his creations!

Sheri, that's what I do too. I think it's a really old Shutterfly trick, but make sure you don't scrap anything "of value" closer that 1/4" to the edge of your page and you should be fine.

Well done JOY! Good luck to your Carla and Teddy and I hope it's not CV.

HI Jill!

Oh LilyAnn... what are we gonna do with you? Ya know, I had viscosupplement injections for years and my knees are doing great now. I also take glucosamine chondroitin tabs everyday. They really don't hurt. Of course, my mom taught us transcendental meditation from an early age and I've always been able to calm myself before injections. Such a wonderful gift she gave us before anyone knew what the heck she was talking about! LOL

Cold is so nasty for all of our joints, Alta! I am with you on that, girl! Hope you feel better and stay warm!

Katherine!!! Not CV too! I'm so sorry. I hope you don't get it bad. Hope surgery goes well and your family pulls through for him.

Michelle, that weather man is a HOOT! I have another friend in Tampa who shares his posts too. I remember my aunt and uncle talking about racing out to "flood" the orange groves when they were young. CRAZY! Never did understand the concept, but I guess whatever works!

I think I caught just about everyone.

Harley and I went up to visit Mom on Saturday. She was doing well. Looked pretty good, for a lady with a broken neck and cervical collar who hadn't been to the hair-dresser in 5 weeks! LOL! That was the first thing she asked, "when can I get outta her to go to the hair-dresser?!?" I had to tell her that the salon in her building had been shut down due to CV anyway, so she wasn't missing anything. smh. She goes in for her 6-week follow-up with the neurosurgeon on Friday and he'll let us know when the collar can come off and when she can move back home. Keep sending them prayers!!!

Love ya!

Carla, you are cracking me up! Thanks for your comments! LOL!

We had a big snowstorm come through last night (and is still going today), so we were given permission to work from home. So I've been doing exciting things like reviewing contracts from speakers and venues for upcoming events. Wheee. I have two virtual committee meetings this afternoon.... and they're scheduled for the exact same time. So that will be fun. But I'm looking forward to switching gears later this afternoon and working on some of the February challenges here. Maybe Randy will be ready for his first scrapbooking lesson. LOL! I'll keep you posted.

Breoni, I am actually stuck in the same snow mess you are. Ice early this morning and more snow scheduled for today and tomorrow. It's the first winter storm for us this season, which is weird, but hey, it gets Eren out of school and hubby working at home.

Eren applied for 2 more schools last Saturday and interviewed for a job Monday. It's weird but nice to see them adulting.

As for me, I need to get scrapping. I saw several of the challenges I'd like to do and get that free kit (I am a Tiger, so it appeals to me.. :)

We had a blizzard at the beginning of the week and now the temperatures are brutal. Today we have an extreme cold weather warning, -22c with a wind chill of -38c. They closed school and roads around the city and outskirts for a couple days. Thankfully we have a snow blower and son at home to help with the loads of snow. Only going out for the essentials and visit Mom so staying warm.

Yesterday, there was huge fire in the downtown area, destroyed a strip of heritage buildings but no fatalities so that is a blessing. On the news this morning they showed the ton of ice that is weighing the building down and will be demolishing it soon. And to top it off, there has been a steady stream of "Trucker protests" in the city so it makes it hard for commuters.

I haven't been in high spirits lately and have been dragging myself around....not much creativity either. I can't wait for spring to come...retirement is on the horizon.

Sending prayers for those who are in need and I wish you all a wonderful weekend. Stay safe!

Hi everyone. I was away for a bit, trying to process and come to terms with the lose of Bailey. It devastated us and I'm still finding it hard to focus and get back to normal life. I retired early and I'm so glad I did. I couldn't work with everything that was going on in our lives and now with Bailey gone, we don't want to stay here in the city so put our house on the market this week and will accept offers on Tues. Luckily it will be sold next wk. If so, we'll be driving up to Kamloops (about 4.5 hrs away) each week for 2-3 days to attend open houses and bid on any homes we like. Then we'll be busy packing up the house to get out in 4-6 wks. The next few months will be crazy busy but hopefully at the end of that we'll be in a new home that we love, my daughter is going to live with us (we will buy a home with a basement suite for her) and I can then enjoy being retired and having more "me" time.

I haven't scrapped for a bit so am looking forward to getting back to it.

Hi Everyone!

I have been doing some digi soul searching and have popped in to share that you will see me taking part in challenges and chatting on the Spicy Motivators thread.

I was tempted to be more involved somewhere else but an incident made me realize that here at Ginger Scraps we have the very BEST store owner in digiland. And some wonderful diverse designers of which I have such a huge stash that I do not want to see it going to waste.

So, you are all stuck with me!

Here I am again....twice in a short space of time.

Rae, I am devastated to hear about the loss of Bailey, I am so so sorry, I had read where she was missing but hadnt heard this. I had come to know about her a little bit through your lovely LOs. Such a tragedy.

Does anyone have any news of Lynnie? She hasnt been around the site much lately and I havent had any contact with her for a few weeks (she and I go back many years), I hope all is well with her Mum, I know she has been very worried about her.

Hi Anne Marie, nice to see you. Ill be watching out for your LOs in the gallery.

SOOOOOOO Happy to be STUCK WITH YOU! (I think there's a song like that!!!)

Rae, I'm glad you stopped by to update us. I've been praying for you and your family. I can only imagine how you need to get away from where you're at. Good luck to you in the next few months. It will be a whirlwind, but you can do it. I'll add prayers for the PERFECT new home. God Bless.

Hello Ladies...
Jill I was wondering the same about Lynnie... Hope she pops in soon so we know she is OK.... If you hear anything let me know. I also hope her mom is ok, will be praying for her and the family.
Rae hope you find the perfect home. Moving is a big strain but you will get through it. Hope the sale of your previous home goes smoothly and quickly.
It has been so cold here, and we are expecting more snow soon. So I have been staying in... But will need to go grocery shopping in the next few days. Hope to have a little warm up for a day or two when I have to go out. It wears me out and makes me so sore by the time I get all the shopping done and put away once I'm home. But I got to keep moving... Will be praying for all who need it and will stop in again soon... Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Thx for all the well wishes and prayers, everyone. I feel a little bit better each day and its good to keep busy to keep my mind from dwelling on Bailey's passing but it is also exhausting. I retired last week but don't feel retired yet b/c of everything going on. But...tomorrow is the last day of showing the house and hopefully will have offers on Tues...fingers crossed (otherwise, we keep on showing the house for another week). I really want to move forward and as soon as we have a sale then we can start driving up to Kamloops to view homes and put in offers. It boggles my mind that we will be packing up this home we've been in for 25 years and leaving the city but my heart knows it is the right thing to do for the family.

I've never eaten so much take-out/restaurant food in my life, almost every day. But we have to keep leaving the house when it is being shown, then dealing with all the funeral stuff and in general, just not having much energy for cooking, so for now, it is what it is. But...hopefully soon I'll get back into cooking so we can eat healthier. I'm scrapping a bit this wkend which is still difficult, I'm still sluggish and foggy from stress and sadness but there is a little spark of joy too to be playing with digi stuff. I know that will get better. It just takes time.

Tomorrow we show the house again and we'll use that time we have to vacate the house to go look at SUVs b/c I'll need a new vehicle for the move to Kamloops. My little worn out putt-putt of a car won't be safe to drive up there. I've been putting off buying a new vehicle for a few yrs so its finally time.

Busy wkend. Hope you all are ok and I hope Lynnie is doing ok too.

Hello everyone, I have not been around much, but it is good to know everyone has been keeping up with each other and encouraging each other, these have been tough times. I have read all the way through the thread and caught up, but definitely not able to comment on everything. Just one exception…

Rae, we prayed and prayed and prayed for Bailey. I am so sorry the outcome was not what we had hoped for. My love and prayers are with you for this and for your move.

It has been a difficult month. My mother stopped eating at the beginning of January and has finally been put on hospice. I am her full-time caregiver now. She has very little time left and is unconscious most of the time. Except at night! She is often agitated T night and I have slept by her bed. There have been some very bad nights.

in addition, my grandson brought COVID home from school. My son’s family came down with it and the youngest was taken to emergency. He is okay at present, but they are keeping a close eye.

Anyway, suffice to say I am worn to the bone. Keep us in your prayers. I will be back on as soon as I can.

keep your loved ones close!

Lynnie, I am sorry to read that life has been dealing you such tough blows. I hope your mother does not suffer badly in her last days. Also hope you keep in good health because caring for a loved one can be such a drain on your health.
May your son's family pull through with no bad after effects.

If any of you are friends with Lynnie on FB, I read that her mum did pass away yesterday, if you want to head over to send your condolences or post them here.

I’ve just now found a pm from lynnie asking me to pass on the news of her mum’s death but I see its already been done. I can only imagine how sad lynnie is feeling right now. My thoughts and prayers are with you and yours lynnie. Ruby has been part of my life through your pages for many years.

Just a quickie- update - from me.... I think I have read ..most /all to here- and my heart hurts with all experiencing a loss. Oh my stars, Lynnie - I had a flashback to my Mom
passing- January 7, 1993......It flashed... I totally get it!

Rae-and Elizabeth: we lost a son to a tragic.... never - should have happened...in 1991 -....I still struggle to go there.... but he turned left/ and apparently - it was not a wise decision.....

cold Here too!!! WE stayed in the 50's with rain ....drizzly, not hard all day long!!!!!! Not a Florida kind of day.

On just a positive or a chance to shake your head and just share a moment of laughter -from a 6 year old 'creative schoolwork"... [yes - she is mine ]...Not sure how 'true' this is, but according to Sarah.

I hope this brings a smile.
