Lynnie, so very sad to hear of your Mom's passing. So hard to loose a parent, no matter how young or old we may be. May your final days with her bring you peace. HUGS

Lynnie I saw your post elsewhere and am deeply saddened for your loss.

I haven't kept up well in here and I'm so sorry. I feel like I've been putting out small fires everywhere and something else pops up. Lost another family member, a cousin a little older than I am. It was her father who died in October. She had been in the hospital since December and I JUST got around to mailing a get well card, but I've been keeping up with her progress. Was very shocked to get the news; I surely thought she was going to recover. I can't get there for the funeral this time; need to come up with some other way to send my love. My heart is broken for my aunt and her sisters.

In lighter news, my new word art challenge is up. I hope some of you can grab it and participate - thank you so much.

Hugs to all of you -

Lynnie .... my thoughts and prayers are with you and all those grieving the loss of this loved one.

Oh Lynnie, I am so sorry to hear of your mother's passing. I know that there is nothing worse than losing a parent. I know that there is nothing that we can do to make things easier for your in the moment but know that you are in so many of our thoughts and prayers.

Lynnie, so sorry to hear about your mom.

I go to the doc to follow up with the MRI of my shoulder I had on Sunday. Pray for the best results. But I'm still in pain. Ladies, don't fall up steps, you CAN get hurt.

Update: current sewing project completed. All Ct work up to date, [I think]. More baseball on Saturday.

And prayers please for my brother battling several 'things' and a surgery on Tuesday.

I feel like I am so far behind on catching up.

@RAE I WAS devasted with the ordeal your family faced with Bailey. I am so so sorry.

@Lynnie huge hugs and I’m so sorry for your loss

@carla glad your mom is doing better. As for the hairdresser I got tired of not having seen one in so long, the Covid numbers being so high here, I took scissors to mine this week. Not a great job but so much better, then Alexis had me cut hers too. Hers looks reasonable good.

@ Route 66 those dang truckers eh? And Winterpeg living up to its name.

@ A-M glad you are back,

@Elizabeth big hugs

anyone Ive missed … sorry

myles fell this morning on a icy sidewalk, landed in such a way that his back ribs hit the highest part of sidewalk curb with the rest of him on the road. It’s been warm enough to melt here for days, water runs across sidewalks then as temperatures dip at night it freezes, leaving treacherous ice. He was in ER from 5;30 am till 3 this afternoon. Extremely bruised ribs, but not broken, off work for a while, he does manual stuff with heavy lifting, so can’t do it.

Happy Valentines Day everyone, may you all find something to make you smile today.

Alexis is buying me a birthday cake, Myles bought me chocolate, and Austin gave me a hug. Love all of it.

Ouch, Lily Ann! Prayers for speedy healing!

Happy Birthday, Sherri!!!

Still praying for you Rae and Lynnie!

Did everyone have a good weekend? I slept terribly Friday night because the abdominal pain woke me up. It's been bad for a week now. :( I manage to go shopping with hubby, then church on Sunday and not much else. Been watching the Olympics every night, and scrapping some.

I've been nominated for LOTW again. I'd love your vote, but even if you don't like mine, please do go vote. Mine is titled "Snow" and had Lena playing in the snow.

I don't have any waffling to do today; just wanted to pop in and say hello. Well, I suppose I could have had waffles for breakfast, but I didn't. I have found these little frozen biscuit wrap egg and cheese things at the grocery store I'm kinda loving. They're not big so I can have two or three. They actually heat really well which surprised me.

Thinking of all of you who have been through family loss or medical issues recently. I pray things improve in any way they possibly can for you, and that you are surrounded by loving family to help.

I found a local board game group and we are going to join them for the first time tonight. It will be so nice to have more players than just my husband and daughter. My daughter and I want to play the games that require more players that we haven't been able to play in a while. Any other board gamers in here? I'm talking Saboteur, Spyfall, Donner Dinner Party, Bang! The Dice game, and Sheriff of Nottingham as the ones that need at least five players. They are 'hidden role' games so there is a bit of fun pretending you're someone you're not. Taking those and hoping we can get other players to join in.

Thanks to those who have joined in my Mixed Bag Word Art Challenge!

Good luck, Ane. I voted for you! :)

Elizabeth, how fun that you love board games. My cousin collected board games all his life. He lives in Omaha, NE, and the paper did a story on him... he had a couple thousand games at that point. The Saturday Night Live writers saw the story, and ribbed him in their Weekend Update segment. He took that video from SNL and created a Kickstarter Campaign. Long story short, he now owns and operates a non-profit board game cafe in Omaha. One room is nothing but games. Then he has multiple rooms for people to play the games. Large tables for groups, and small tables for couples. There's even a section in his cafe for people who show up alone and are looking for others to play with them. You can order drinks, including fancy coffees or alcohol. They had to shut down briefly for the pandemic, but they're back and running again. It's just so neat to see him share his love of games with others in this way!

Just taking a moment to say "Hi!" to everyone.

School is out today for a scheduled long weekend. I'm hoping to get some inspirational cards made up today. I got behind making card fronts for my 6th grade choir students to write some uplifting notes for the 5th grade choir members and I want to make sure those are ready for Monday. All week it was in the 70s and we had thought about doing some outdoor things and taking pictures but a cold front moved through yesterday and dropped us into the upper 30s. Hot cocoa, my laptop, and a crochet project sound like a solid plan for now. I hope everyone has a great weekend!

We got more snow and colder temps and more ice and rain, so much for the finally cleared sidewalks I could walk on.
myles bruises are still getting worse from his fall, bigger and darker.
alexis is busy with zooms.
i had a migraine this week that was horrendous.

Howdy all! I've been binge watching a British show where they help people tidy up their homes and find a few items to sell to get them a small amount of money. It's inspired me to go through my closets. I'm naturally a very organized person and I just hate clutter. But even still, in a matter of about 15 minutes, I had 2 bags of donations and a bag for the trash. Hubby always gets worried when he sees me cleaning out things. He LOVES clutter and would live in a cave surrounded by everything he's ever had if I let him. Ha.

Oh my... I just realized I've been totally out of it here for too long!

Lynnie, I am so very sorry for your loss. Praying for you and your family.
Elizabeth, praying for you too, and your family.

We ended up having Covid... Just did a home test. I think from the way it acted and the symptons it was the latest variant. I always spell it wrong, so I'm not even going to try. LOL!

Anyway, we are "over it"... but hubby and I are still dealing with fatigue and I have this cough, that comes from a "tickle" in my throat, especially if I talk too much. Which if you know me, it is hard thing for me not to talk to much! LOL!

My Carla, didn't get either job, but it's ok. We have her focusing on getting ready for her driver's test, and just keeping up with school.

Teddy got moved to Knoxville and finally got in his apartment last week. We miss him being around every day, but this is a good fit for him. He enjoys his work at the church, where he is "interning" and also will be doing EMS work Friday or Saturday night each week. Not sure how his schedule will change once his classes start. He has a short class (6 weeks, I think) that will start this coming month, I think. Then in the fall he will take classes to be a medic. Anyway, he is keeping really busy, and I can hardly keep up with it all... but that's ok. :)

Wishing you all a wonderful week-end.

Second blizzard here in the past 2 weeks, not sure where we are going to put all that snow! There has been so many closures here but today I think things are getting cleaned up.

My son's birthday today, 36 yo, can't believe how fast time moves! Having a dinner get together tonight.

Last week there was an on-line auction for one of the pet rescue centers that my friend volunteers for and I won a bid of $16 for a cute pair of Reiker sandals, they sell for $130 at Quarks, if I would have known I was only bidding with myself, I would have donated more the first time around.

Hoping things are well for everyone, happy Sunday!

I wish I could say I was having a fabulously exciting life, but things are just bumping along as usual. My abdominal pain is still with me, getting up to a 7 today. I also had a 3-hour nap because I just haven't been sleeping well.

I had an eye doctor appointment last week and found that I can now use reading glasses, if I want. I don't really want to but I probably will soon enough. I'm surprised I got away with it for this long

We had a couple of warm days last week, followed by a couple of cold days. Now it is warm again and that means I'll have to go outside tomorrow and do some pruning. It'll probably get cold again but not freezing. I'm sad that winter is coming to a close because that means allergy season is coming up. Sigh.

How did everyone's weekends go?

I didn't do hardly anything at all this weekend. I mean I did some housekeeping stuff and I did some sleeping but that is pretty much it. I've been feeling a little bit down here lately and it really stinks. So tired of that and just want to be me again. I attribute a lot of it to this time of the year (we are rapidly approaching the anniversary of the day that my dad died and though it has been a lot of years, this period of time still rubs me a little bit roughly).

Kids are doing good, my mom is doing pretty well after the most recent surgery and in some ways it feels like things are starting to fall into place the way that they are supposed to.

We had a nice quiet weekend but received some disappointing news. We were to be heading to the next state this coming weekend to have three nights with my sister and her family. She contacted us to say she is unwell and her doctors says she is not fully recovered from Covid and her husband claims he is not unwell but has not left his bed the last few days and is not eating much. My sister suggested that it best we not come to visit as she would hate if Bob had covid and passed it onto us.

Anne-Marie, that is so disappointing. I hope you're able to rebook your trip to visit your family soon!

Half of my family are living like hermits to avoid getting sick, and the other half of my family are living in denial that the virus exists. Oh my. Randy and I are just doing our best to make smart decisions and keep ourselves and others safe.

Yesterday, I volunteered to be a judge for a youth contest where we interviewed high schoolers for a free trip and scholarship. Everything was done virtually, which was lovely to be able to do that from my own home (if it had been in person, it would have meant me driving three hours each way). It was fun to visit with the students online. Only one had connectivity issues, and only one judge kept trying to speak while muted. You'd think after living this way for the past two years we would have the tech side of things down! Ha!

Today, my college intern starts at my office, so that will be nice to have some help. She's only able to work about 12 hours a week, but I know I have enough projects to keep her busy! :)

Hope you all have a great day! We are expecting a high of 70s today, so I'm planning to go for a nice long walk after work. By Wednesday, our expected high will only be 25, so I'd better enjoy the nice weather while it's here! Ha.
