Thanks, Michi. I'm at that stage where I THINK I'm getting better and I'll have a burst of energy. So I'll start a project (like dishes or the laundry) and then a few minutes later, my body says "just kidding" and pulls the drain on my energy stores. LOL! But at least the migraine symptoms are gone today... so hopefully I can work on the photos of our trip. We crammed as much into our trip as possible, and I snapped photos along the way. It's been a delight to go back through them and relive (at a relaxed pace) the fun things we saw and did. Randy keeps coming over to peek at the pages I'm working on. I look forward to putting together a Shutterfly book from this trip (it may have to be a two-volume set! LOL!)

I had a chance to look at all the fun challenges this month. There are several that I'm looking forward to completing. The designers do such a nice job at coming up with fun things for us to do.

Awww... thanks to everyone who voted for my nephew! He is currently in third place, but for a time he was in first. He thought he'd only get a handful of votes, and was shocked to see that was briefly in the lead! LOL! Love that kid!

Shana, I just voted. It looks like he's still in 3rd. I hope he gets more votes! :)

Well.......... went to the doc yesterday. I guess my knees have actually gotten worse and I'm not sucha big baby. Turns out both are bone-on-bone and he's sending me to an ortho for a consult. argh!!! Now I AM A BIG BABY! I don't want surgery! I guess that's my biggest fear. What happens after that? And how long is the recovery? I can't afford to take time off work and it's not the money, it's the time! No one else does my job. It would drive me NUTZ to leave my work for more than a week. Seriously. I would stew that the work wasn't getting done. Anyway... I'm sort of a wreck just thinking about it. We'll see.

Love and Blessings.

Carla, I'm sorry that you are in a very stressful situation... that doesn't sound fun at all. Sending you a virtual hug. I'm glad that you at least KNOW what is going on in your body, and will be getting some options soon.

If it's any consolation, my dad was in a similar situation and he put off the surgery as long as he could. Finally, he relented and had the knee replacements. The first thing he told me was... "I wish I had done this sooner." Good luck to you!!!

I'm pretty sure that's what I'm supposed to think. My mind is telling me that. My heart just hasn't caught up yet and I'm a big baby where "pain" is concerned, although hubby would disagree. He says I'm strong as an ox and endure too much.

Thanks.

Love and Blessings.

Carla, I am so sorry to hear that! My husband is going through something similar. He's been home since mid-August, and I think that's the hardest part for him too (worried when he gets back, that things with be in disarray).

Carla- how I feel for you with the knees. I've been bone on bone for quite a while [years]...and like you, I do NOT want the surgery. I don't have time either......

Happy Sunday.
On another note...Here we go again with a hurricane approaching Florida and currently aimed right for us......

@mrsbrad… right? I was just coming to let all my FL scrapping friends to let them know you all in my thoughts and prayers. We are in prep mode as well. Lot of devastation from Helene around me and I’m actually a little worried about Milton. Stay safe my friends!!!

Yes most definitely from Helene and TS Debi/ brief hurricane was no picnic either. I'm not sure your location. I'm in Tampa, the northern side [NW] in the county.
Thus far 'we ' are ok. Our home elevation is considered high. We are at 52 ft but within 10 miles of the water.
I've lived here since 1960. This one, is concerning me. Schools are closed M-W [thus far]. In my opinion, they will not be open on Th-F either.
Praying for safety for all, and electricity!!!
m

Keeping an eye on Milton and hoping for the best for everyone in its path. We currently have sent around 80 electric line men to help with restoration efforts following Helene. I'm working on transportation now to bus the relief workers to the site to keep the efforts working, and bring the first crews back home. Our guys are in South Carolina, but I'm wondering if we won't have a request from Florida, as well. Egads. Enough with the hurricanes, Mother Nature!

Hope everyone has a happy AND SAFE week!

Yeah, right now I'm worried about the linemen who are IN FL helping out being in danger from Milton! Geez.
Prayers for everyone in the path. We have loads of friends who are directly in the path. Of course, most are evacuating as we speak or already gone. I just pray for what they fine when they return.

Oh my friends, I need some motivation, positive thoughts, and hope.

My husband is due to be laid off tomorrow if he can't find a job within the company he works for. The chances are looking slim. I hardly know what to do, think, or feel right now. He's always been the breadwinner; I haven't worked outside the home since 1994. I guess I am looking for good wishes and prayers, if you are a praying person. I'll be praying too, for him and for those in the path of Hurricane Milton.

Love and hugs to all of you! <3

According to the latest and several reports throughout today, the linemen are staged near Ocala and areas where not as much...."should" be impacted although the entire state will get some of this major storm.

Hi all.
We are in the cone of "uncertainly" with Hurricane Milton. That said we are not in a flood zone or an evacuation area. We are staying put [gulp] and have prepared the best we can. If you are a praying person, prayers are appreciated.

Oh Ane, I'm so sorry. That's so scary. Sending love and prayers for peace in your heart. We've been there too years ago, when the girls were little. It all worked out in the end and it will work out for you too.

Thanks for the info Michelle. I still have a special place in my heart for linemen. Our Shawny was a lineman before he passed. I heard first responders were staging at some huge arena too. Good to know that there's somewhere safe for the people who need to get "there" fast! Prayers for everyone in Milton's path.

Love and Blessings

Stay safe all those of you affected by this horrifying hurricane, the vision I am seeing on the TV is terrifying. My nephew and his wife lived in Florida for a few years, I am thinking they will be thankful they are back in Aus again now.

So we ended up leaving as we were in an evacuation zone and we are a block away from the bay. When it
looked like Milton was headed to the bay, we left. We are still evacuated. So we are safe. We do not know the condition of our house. We do know it’s without power and the county has asked us to not return until they give the all clear.

Esther, I'm glad you are safe! <3

In other news, Hubby was rehired by his company for a new job. Details have yet to be worked out. Thank you all for your positive thoughts! :)

OH ANE!!! I'm so happy for you and hubby! See I told you it would be okay! YAY!!!!!!!

I always try to remember... from The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, "Everything will be okay in the end. If it is not okay, it is not yet the end." It wasn't actually "his" quote. Can't remember who said it first, but I always loved that line. People say it was John Lennon. How lovely.

Love and Blessings to everyone! Have a GREAT weekend!

Ane, that is great news! Thank you for the update!

For those who have evacuated, I hope you were all able to return home safely.

Happy Friday, everyone.

We are home from the cruise now. We talked to so many who had homes and/or loved ones living in the evacuation zones. They were trying to enjoy the cruise but the constant worry and stress was inevitable. Hope no one here sustained any serious damage.

We had a fantastic time on the east coast. Peggy's cove in Nova Scotia was a joy to visit, so picturesque. I loved Boston so much! If I had to live anywhere in the USA where I've visited, so far it would be Boston. I walked so much during our four days there. The markets and gardens were wonderful, not to mention the shopping! I enjoyed checking out Trader Joes, grabbing a few spices and tea to bring home.

Now we are home, I need to spend lots of time with Remi (she is my velcro dog, gets so depressed when I am away), continue working with her on her knee recovery and Taz just wants lots of cuddles. He slept all night draped across my knees, refusing to move LOL. Came home to a northern lights display in the sky, not anywhere near as powerful as the night before, as seen in the photos my daughter sent us, but I was happy to see a bit of color in the sky nonetheless.

Today is house cleaning (no housework for 2.5 wks so lots of dust), laundry, unpacking and groceries. Can't wait to scrap some holiday photos.
