Sorry, that I have not kept up with all the happenings here. I hope nothing bad has happened to anyone.
It is a rainy day here which is good as we needed some Spring rains.

I have just started a new challenge in the Random Section which means it is not for adding to your Cookie Jar. The challenge is for those who like to create ATCs or Greeting Cards. Or possibly you could use the ATC for a Journal card to go on a layout.

You can find the challenge HERE

I had to lookup what ATCs were! WHO KNEW?!? But I'm just loving getting back into creating greeting cards so I went over to look. Now, whether or not I'll actually get to creating with your template, who knows as well... LOL, but it's darling and I will try! That's for the additional idea, A-M!

So glad your house is coming along LilyAnn! I've been watching the progress on FB. Very excited for you!

Bre! Those pumpkins sound adorbs!

Our house was reshingled yesterday, boy was it noisy upstairs. We relocated the bunnies downstairs where it was much quieter. They loved going up and down the stairs, they got a lot of exercise. It was fun watching them explore a new area.

I feel as though it has been forever since I posted, but it has not been that long. I am looking at my calendar and it is an absolute mess of things. I actually wrote in "NOTHING" on a few days because I was feeling so burned out.

I went to a friend's house on Tuesday to scan pictures and managed to do almost 200. I am now turning them into slides. I have a huge list of little things to do and I just don't want to do any of them. I want days of doing nothing. My book club canceled today, so that has given me a little time.

I really just wanted to check in and let you know I was still living and busy :)

Hi Lynnie....nice to hear from you. You’re always so busy, I’m not surprised you want a quiet day. Me too...I want a lot of quiet days. Life has been busy and time flies.

I’ve been scrapping, taking care of the dogs, doing my desk job and binge watching shows, busy but happy with life :)

Just wanted to pop in and say hi.

Hi everyone! I've been quiet mainly because I don't have much going on. Some days I think about getting a job, but I always rule it out. I'm way too much of an introvert and my last work experience is almost 30 years old, LOL. I do have a degree that I don't use much. Anyway, my weekend will be fairly boring. Hubby and Eren will be gone on a band trip tomorrow and won't get back until 3 am Sunday. So I may have to do the shopping solo, ick.

Rae, I hear you, just doing the same stuff you always do. It's comfortable, isn't it? :)

Lynnie, I don't blame you for wanting a quiet day. That's pretty much all I have and it's so boring I have to take daily naps. But you definitely deserve one or two when you want them.

Sherri, I remember when our roof got re-done. It was a noisy few days, that's for sure!

Carla, I remember ATCs from long ago, like when I first started digiscrapping in 2006. I don't think I ever made any though.

LilyAnn, I'm excited to see pix of your house! It's gonna be so cool. :)

Breoni, I have never heard of those kind of pumpkins. They sound pretty awesome though.

Tragedy in our office... the office microwave has died. Gasp! How will we get through this Monday? Ha... do you think that's reason enough for me to work from home this week? LOL!!! However, that does mean I need to go out for lunch today as I had brought leftovers to reheat at noon. Alas!

Here is the layout showing our friend who grew the pumpkins and those "blue" pumpkins I was telling you about:

I'm hoping my fall decorations on the porch will still be intact. One of our friends planted three varieties of pumpkins this year and they thrived this year. She has so many pumpkins that she's giving them to everyone she can think of! Ha. She gifted us a huge bright orange pumpkin that it all bumpy and so cool. She gave us several of the tiny little decorative gourds ranging from yellow to orange to green to white. Then she also gave us two of a variety of large pumpkins called "blue pumpkins." They are more of a soft greenish blue color and they are so neat. We sprayed the whole lot down with bleach to keep mold off of them and to extend the time we can display them. I'm sure I'll do a scrapbook page them on them.

Hope everyone has a WONDERFUL day!!!

Breoni, My in-laws grow pumpkins and we are going there this weekend for a late Thanksgiving. I hope to get some photos too of their varieties but I will have to tell them about these blue pumpkins, they will love them! Awesome layout of your friend, and the T-shirt is perfect!!

Hi everyone. The sun is out today (we've had a lot of rain these past few wks) and it was nice to get out into the yard to throw the ball for Remi and take some photos of the fall foliage and birds. I am going to head out later today to take more photos in the neighborhood. I love this time of year for outdoor photos.

Its my b-day this coming wkend so we've decided to go to the movies and see the new James Bond movie. It'll be the first time since COVID that we'll be in a theatre. No other big b-day plans though and didn't want any gifts b/c I can't think of anyone I really need or want, other than some good hiking boots for going out with the dogs but I'll buy those myself when I find what I want.

So, not much happening lately but that's ok, I am enjoying the quiet around here. Hubs has about 6 wks left of work until retirement so things will be busier and noisier around here after that.

Hope everyone is well. I've got to get back to my desk work. BFN

Happy early birthday! Please let us know what you think of the new James Bond movie (it's on our list of movies we'd like to see).

I'm with you with not wanting "stuff" for presents. Randy asked me last night what I wanted for Christmas and I told him I wanted him to clean out the basement (which is piled sky-high with boxes of his paperwork and outdated electronics that we "might" need in the future... oy). He paused for a moment and then asked me what ELSE I wanted for Christmas this year. Ha. Maybe I can enlist the support of the girl child to motivate him. She recently rented her first house, and I told her she could have some of the furniture that in storage in the basement... so for her to get to it, Randy will have to at least move some of his piles. Oh my.

Happy Birthday Rae! I hope it's a great one! :)

Me, I haven't been doing much. This weekend will be busy though- there's a local marching band competition that Eren's band is attending Friday (and Saturday, we hope). And we have to the usual Shopping/Saturday chores too. So exciting (ha ha)! I'll muddle through it all somehow like I always do, LOL!

We were going to go to the movies tomorrow for my b-day but decided not to chance it, too many people, not sure how well ventilated the theater will be and we have to be extra careful about germs with Bailey (b/c of her compromised immune system with the chemo she gets, as that makes her more susceptible to getting sick). We'll stay home, watch a movie and have nachos and burritos for an early dinner before taking B back to the carehome.

Today I have lots of desk work, need to do some CT stuff and want to get some beans and rice cooked up in the instant pot for tomorrow. An aussie pup doesn't lay around much, they need to be busy, so I won't take the dogs to the park today b/c of the rain but will tomorrow regardless of the weather as she'll need the exercise but today I'll do lots of play time and indoor training with her.

Hope you all have a good day. I'm getting to work now.

Hi everyone! How are you all doing? I'm feeling pretty good despite taking a really long time to fall asleep last night. The result of the band competition for Eren's band- they placed 9th out of 59 bands. So pretty good, I'd say. That was a late night too, so I had to nap on Sunday. Yesterday I started a new blog. I'm not ready to unveil it yet, so that will take up some of my time.

Rae, that was probably wise not to risk the movie. I hope you had a great birthday weekend and that the rain cleared up. :)

Hi everyone.
I got to go visit my mom on her 85th birthday on Monday, being in a care home I haven't been able to see her much since COVID started. She looked really good.
Alexis has been busy volunteering, even though her jaw is still painful.
Austin is almost done courses he is currrently taking.
The kids Dad is taking holidays next week, hopefully get some things done around the house that I can't do by myself.

How's everyone's weekends going? We did shopping this morning and had a couple hours at home before going to another band competition for Eren's band. They did really well, and it got pretty cold- a nice damp cold that makes it feel colder than it really is. Brr! Tomorrow is church and choir practice. We will watch some Halloween-y movies and hand out candy. :)

Hi all, I spent yesterday making tick-or-treat bags for the girls and decorating pumpkins and the yard. I took granddaughter out on Thursday "House Haunting", we had a nice time together and saw some amazing Halloween decorated houses.

I have been working on my laundry room and finally have the old vinyl floor up and ready for new flooring. I have to take out the cupboards and paint then it will be ready to put back when I am on vacation next week.

Today being Halloween, what is happening in your neck of the woods this year? We are mostly back to normal but mask wearing is a must. I guess we will see how many kiddo's we have this year.

Happy Halloween everyone!

I took the Civil Service Clerk/Typist II test on Saturday morning. It was a 3 1/2 hour test. I used almost all the allotted time. Many said, myself included, that the test was really hard. I guess the promotions will be based on the best of the worst scores. LOL!
The house is almost done. Just the finishing touches left. Than all the unpacking and where should we put this and which closet will hold that. It seems like even with the bigger kitchen, there still isn't enough space for our kitchen stuff. Never mind the bedrooms which are a lot small that what we had upstairs. In a week or two we will be having our oil tank replaced. Did you know they only have a life of about 30 years? The yard, garage and basement will be next, possibly next year.
You wouldn't recognize the house now!!!
We are settling in nicely and will be hosting our first guests for Thanksgiving. We are inviting a few of our select friends (who mostly have family out of state) over.
I digress... Saturday night we went to a wedding 1 1/2 hours away (in PA) and got home about 1:30am.
Sunday we lounged around most of the day. The kids went Trick-or-Treating and I sat on the stoop giving out candy. We had about 80 kids come by. I heard neighbors a few blocks away only had about 15. I guess location mattered this year. LOL.

Hope everyone is doing well and staying healthy!

I. Am. Cold!

Ha... it's in the low 40s outside and we haven't turned on the heat yet. I'm wearing a hoodie and just finished a warm drink. But I'm still cold. Time to pull out the electric blanket.

On Friday, I have a work event that I'm flying to in Washington, D.C. We keep watching the news about all of the cancelled flights and rerouted passengers. Soooo.... fingers crossed that we have a smooth travel experience. I'm hoping while I'm there to meet up with several sets of friends, as well as our niece and nephew. I'm also hoping to see some new attractions, like the Dwight Eisenhower Memorial and the new Museum of the Word.

Normally this time of year, I'm planning our annual youth tour to DC. However, with all of the challenges brought by the pandemic, my members are pulling back the number of students they're willing to send. At most, I'd only have a group of 15 students. Although, that may not be a bad thing. Or I may just skip DC altogether and create a statewide youth conference locally. Ahh... I wish I could see into the future about what this summer will bring. Instead, I keep getting more and more grey hairs! LOL!

Good news. We finally broke down and turned the heat on in the house! Ha! Life is good. :)

It’s been cool enough for us to have heat some nights for about a month.

my son completed his last exam, for the last class he needed to finish the requirements for a high school diploma. I am so proud of him. We aren’t sure what comes next yet.

alexis is busy doing online volunteering.

we got to see my mom for her 85th birthday. A outbreak at her care home cleared two days before her birthday, then another outbreak declared the day after we were there. It was so hard to see her hugging the kids when we left and her not wanting to let go. Broke my heart. Covid has been so hard with the isolation.

That's great news about your son, Sherri, and I'm glad you got to see your mom. I'll get to see mine later this month as we are taking another trip for Thanksgiving.

I have had a pretty tame week. I've been out in the cold (it feels like we skipped fall) most nights this week. It's supposed to warm up again, but I'm enjoying it. This weekend will be a bit crazy, as it's the band's annual craft fair. Hubby is in charge of the café/bistro and I'm signed up to help him a few hours on Saturday. Sunday I'll be at church all by myself, which will be weird.

Today marks a year since my father passed away. I can't believe it's been that long! My son has mentioned it a couple of times this week where he started tearing up.
Most of the renovations are done. We are just waiting for a couple of finishing items, banister for downstairs to the basement and two more cabinets to make an island/prep area. We have been emptying boxes and trying to find places for everything. We think we need more room. LOL!
We will be hosting a small Thanksgiving get together at my house. Can't wait to show it off. LOL!

Lily Ann- Wow, has it been a year already? Big (((HUGS)))! Congrats on getting the house almost all renovated! That is exciting stuff. :)

My family and I survived all the hours we put in with the band's craft fair. It was a worthwhile effort, as we made a lot. :) In other news, this is a upcoming weekend is a big one for Eren. The band is going to a huge national competition and will be gone about 3 days. Woo! I don't have any plans other than becoming best buddies with Netflix during that time, LOL!

Ane - Those band competitions... So much practice and effort to make the show spectacular. Must is always a good thing!

Good morning ladies, I hope you have all been well. I have lacked the spoons for socialisation beyond the bare minimum for work, so I have been hibernating for a month. I don't know that it "Fixed" or modified anything, but at very least I feel up to being social again, so baby steps!

My ongoing work struggle saga culminated in working 42 hours in 4 days, and then my throwing a very well documented, very professional tantrum in front of the entire EU branch of our company during our weekly meeting. If I am to be expected to do the things, the things must work, and something needs to change. Part of this was hard due to my anxiety demanding absolute perfection from myself AT ALL COSTS, and part of it was me finally reaching the end of my rope. I was already making fondue out of string cheese, it's not possible to make fondue if I am given an empty larder.

It's a week later, and there are a few changes. They're putting in daily work on a new server for my invoicing to run on, with the maiden test voyage set for Wednesday after two weeks of tweaks. This should pull me back into the territory of finishing the cycle in 16-20h across 3 days, which is reasonable.

The other point of contention was the lack of communication and follow-through from my supposed peer in the US office... Y'all. Between not answering questions, redoing things I just did not even three days prior and lying about technical malfunctions of software when it was simply that she forgot to do something... wit's end. Without going into toooooooo many details, it's a tandem project, so she does one full cycle, and I do the other- but they should be more or less at the same place at any given point in time. The project needs ongoing maintenance, and the standard rate of that maintenance should be every 3-4 months... There are some aspects of the other cycle which are TWO YEARS behind. When it was clear she wasn't getting caught up, they asked me to loop in and help pull her cycle regular- so for six months I've been trying and failing because of the same vicious cycle of bad communication, excuses, and forgetfulness.

The end result of my tantrum is that she's now a direct report. I plan, she executes. Hail Caesar.

I will definitely be going home to Minnesota in January, and I am SO excited. We're actually staying there the whole trip, because anything else is a logistical nightmare, so I am thrilled to pieces and will hopefully be able to do EVERYTHING I want while we're there. And because my partner made the final call on us ONLY going there, he can't complain too much. I hope. Lol.

Sylfie, normally I am not a fan of tantrums, but it looks like yours got some positive results! WTG! I'm glad you get to go home in January- that's exciting stuff. :)

Hey everyone! It feels like I'm hogging the page, but oh well. News from me- Eren's band went to a big national competition and placed 18th out of 99. In the nation. Woo hoo!!! I had the house to myself for 3 days. Later this week, we're going to visit our sons/brothers for Thanksgiving. It'll be nice to get back there again. :)
