Michi... you are cracking me up! Thank you for the laughs this morning!

Do any of you use the full blown version of Photoshop? The "content-aware fill" and "content-aware scale" are two tools I use often if I need to alter elements (such as making a word strip with text into a blank word strip). I also used that tool recently to remove a sticker from hubby's shirt in a photo. We were on a tour and all were given stickers to wear to the guide could ID us. I liked the photo, but the sticker was distracting... one click later, the sticker was gone. Ah I love Photoshop!!!
 
Shana, I have a tutorial coming up for Elements using Content Aware Fill. It's SO handy!

I've done almost nothing constructive this month. My son had cellulitis of his right foot, the side most affected by his strokes. At some point around the time the cellulitis appeared, he also rolled his ankle, probably when being walked to the bathroom without his ankle-foot brace (AFO) on. Ten days of antibiotics cleared up the infection but the ankle injury is taking much longer to go away. At least the swelling has gone down enough to put his AFO on but he still isn't weight-bearing. We're starting on week four here... I can't transfer him on my own if he's not weight-bearing, and he can't spend time downstairs so I don't get a break. (My husband only spends time upstairs if he has no choice. It's not worth the aggravation.) We've watched a lot of cartoons, season 6 of Schitt's Creek and several movies. Last night he watched 2 episodes of M*A*S*H* while I listened to a podcast. I know I'm a little depressed but that'll pass.

Fave elements? Solid and small-print papers, fasteners of ALL kinds, paint splats, scribbles, doodles, string, ribbon, borders, clocks, butterflies, realistic flowers, leaves and twigs, word strips, lace and doilies.

Not-likely-to-use elements? I REALLY struggle with papers with jumbo patterns on them. If I use them, they're going to be resized drastically. Bulky frames, cartoony elements, muddy colours, premade clusters (for all the same reasons!), ombre papers, orange, yellow and brown.

My grandsons had a really good weekend. Jonathan's hockey team won a crucial game 9-3 and Aaron won a silver medal at his first speed-skating meet. Living vicariously thru Instagram........
 
Shana- I have full photoshop and use content aware quite a bit. I just mix up the tools for whatever works best.

Crochet blanket done. Knitted lap blanket...almost done. Now to hunt for what I'm doing next.

Michi, I sort of know how to crochet (enough to make a scarf), but I never learned to knit. At this stage in my life, I find it difficult to hold on to the hooks long enough before my fingers go numb and I need to do something else. That's another reason I love digi scrapbooking... it reduces the repetitive movements on my wrist and is much more ergonomic!

However, I've started a new hobby. Needle felting! It's sooooo theraputic to stab wool and make it into cute things. Although, I've learned I can't watch TV while needle felting or I tend to stab myself! Ha.
 
Shana - I will look into that craft as I am curious. I've crocheted for a very long time and only started knitting at the beginning of the pandemic for something else to do. I find both help my hands.
I think I've found my next crochet pattern. Off to watch a video...

What's everyone got planned for this weekend? Or not planned? I'm going out with hubby tonight, then shopping/errands tomorrow, with some cleaning thrown in. Sunday we will have church and that's about it. :)
 
Ane, our weekend plans were changed when Mother Nature decided to cover our part of the world with a sheet of ice yesterday! After work, I took my daughter shopping for a new outfit to wear to a family wedding (we found something cute for her), and when we left the store, I couldn't believe how slick it already was. By the time I got home, cars were already going into the ditch. So once I made it home, I stayed home. The sun is out now so hopefully it will melt soon. But today will be spent warm and cozy inside. Hubby promised to work on his ever-growing piles of "stuff" around the house and I plan to work on photos from our recent vacation.
 
I have been so busy this past week so today I am having lunch with my old hairdresser (she's retired) and is a really close family friend. The weather is still frigid here although it has warmed up to -22c with a wind chill of -31c from -40c so I guess I shouldn't complain...LOL!

Obi, sorry to hear of your son with cellulitis, my brother has had that a few times and it is painful. I hope your son gets well soon! Congrats on your grandson's silver medal!

Michi, I took a crotheting class many years ago and only made a set of doilies. I admire yourhandiwork and am thinking of taking it up again when I retire.

Shana, I feel for you with all the ice. We have had a wicked winter too but mostly frgid temperatues. I am hoping spring is around the corner, in March. I will watch for your vacation layouts, I am gearing up for my Europe trip in April.

This weekend I will be tuning into a live summit that showcasing card making which is another type of crafting I love to do. Does anyone card craft too? Is it paper cards or digital? I used to do paper cards using the Julie Nutting dolls for a card exchange that I used to belong to.
 
Monday is my son's 18th birthday so other than Church and lunch with the family tomorrow he asked for a stay home and do nothing day (aka a day he and his brother can fight over the xbox all day lol)
So I'll get to finish my February challenges today <3
 
Well, today is MY Birthday, so started out with breakfast at the Legion with a buncha friends I haven't seen in ages. Then a day of just celebrating with various peeps. Tomorrow is our family dinner at "somewhere" I haven't chosen just yet. Probably TGIFridays cuz it has something for everyone and the kids can get a little rowdy if they want. Had most of the week off and I took Friday off just for kicks (and my pre-birthday). Played around with cards and scrapbooking a bit. Didn't get a lot done, but enjoyed myself.

Happy Birthday Carla! I think everyone should celebrate for at least a week, spread out the joy and fun w different groups of friends/family. Sometimes it takes even longer than a week to connect w those we want to for special days, all good.

Those mainland weather reports/traffic/people stuck in cars or abandoning them and walking out are terrifying. Here in beautiful Kailua, Hawaii we've had a wild night of high winds, but not the rainy deluge we were expecting.

My dh and I had a fun intro to pickle ball class inside a local gym yesterday. There happened to also be two people I knew from work (both now either retired or moved on) so that was a bonus friendship reconnection. We want to play pickleball w our sons, so this was a great way to get started.

Google to the rescue re pickle ball....looks like a cross between tennis, table tennis, badminton. Looks like fun too!
 
I like that idea Glee! Celebrations for at least a week! Didn't exactly celebrate all week, but it sure was nice being home all week. Finished off yesterday with dinner at one of our favorite local restaurants and it was hopping. Saw a couple of our friends there too. Had a great dinner. Tonight with the kids and grands is sure to be super.

Happy Birthday Carla, I LOVE TGIFridays...when Mom & I did road trips to Fargo for her birthday, we always celebrated with the vanilla bean cheesecake. Sadly, that location closed down. Hope you'll be able to have you favorite deseset for your special day!

Yes, that's exactly what pickle ball is a combo of. Much easier and lower impact than tennis. It was apparently invented in 1965, don't know why it's suddenly sweeping the nation. Interesting to hear it's not yet an Australian phenomenon. My wise son suggests maybe you folks call it something else...?

I also work with full photoshop. I am pretty good with GIMP, but I much prefer photoshop. I use the content aware fill for word strips.

I find a lot less time for scrapping these days. I am babysitting my grandson three to four days a week and home three. Those three days are so busy! I am needed to take Bruce to school. He is only three, but has some speech issues, so he has a special class.

We DO have pickle ball in Australia according to Mr Google who knows everything. I dont think it is in our town though.

In our part of the world, we have had places called "Chicken and Pickle" pop up in more heavily populated areas. They have pickleball courts, a casual restaurant, outdoor places to gather, and a stage for live music. We've gone a couple of times to meet friends, but we haven't played pickleball yet. Maybe someone can create a page and post it under the "tell us about your hobby" challenge! :)

This is going to be a busy work week for me. I have five meetings scheduled today (one I'm leading). Tomorrow, I'm helping judge the KidWind Challenge in Manhattan, KS. It's about a 45 min drive and I'm going early to meet up with one of my camp alumni for breakfast, so that will be fun. I have board meetings Wed. and Thurs. And on Friday, I fly to Nashville for our national convention. I'll fly back next week on Wed. So I need to pack a couple of suitcases tonight or tomorrow. Whee.

Happy March! Is everyone as excited about the Scrap-A-Thon as me? Who's participating? I plan to go for 20 layouts and 50+ gallery comments. I'd do the 31 but I'm going to be away from my computer for 8 days, starting Friday. I'm excited for my trip too- I'll get to see all my kids and granddaughter, plus some friends who live in the same area. Woo hoo, exciting month! :)
 
It does look like fun Ane, but I haven't scrapped in so long, I don't know that I'll participate more than just looking and commenting on the beautiful layouts.

I am participating, but man all challenges wanting friends in them, thats a tall order for me when all my friends are in digiland. lol. I will figure it out though. Expect lots of bunny lo this month. lol.
The girl has been to Ottawa, and Montreal and now outside Toronto and is having a great time but is tired. She is home in another week. Two conferences and one visiting friends of ours. She got to go to a sucre shack and loved it. It is quite the quebec experience.
I am at home with the boy. and great news there he got the job at the greenhouse/nursery starting sometime in April. Need to get him steel toed boots and gloves. any recommendations? fingers crossed.
The kids Dad lost his cousin to cancer a few days ago. She was the youngest of 8 and a twin and the two were always with the kids Dad growing up. It sucks.

On today's action in my life besides cleaning etc.... LOL
I finished a new "outfit" [outlook'] on life for my cousins Raggedy Ann and Andy dolls her grandmother made her .....well over 50+ something years ago and Grandmom was 70+ at the time.

Welp!!! I'm 70... and I think I restored, best I could with fabric I could locate and no pattern.
I see her next week.

We leave on cruise next week. Please keep my husband in prayers with his back that we make it. Luckily our haircutting lady answered the phone today. Hopefully I look ok for cruise photos.

I will be gone and most likely no internet from March 9-20.

Howdy, all! I need to download the list of challenges and see what I think I might be able to accomplish. I just returned home from my board meetings... and found a very sick hubby. So I've cancelled his flight, which means I'll be goign to Nashville solo tomorrow. I'm there for six days for my work, but now that means I'll have time to srapbook in the hotel room! LOL!

Need to get the laundry started and change out suitcases.Then I'll heat up some broth for the hubby (his last round of antibiotics did TOO good of a job and now he needs probiotics and a couple of other prescriptions that I picked up for him). Poor guy. He's so bummed.
