Happy Friday. I decided to 'join' the Today's shows February exercise challenge. Just adding some extra daily things to what I already do. Since all the medical stuff I encountered since last summer I had to stop a lot of what I wanted to do. Here's hoping I am able to get it all back again. I'm medically cleared [one more dr. to go] just physically weaker than I prefer.

Rain for us later today with a cold front. And even by Florida standards not very cold for here. I sure feel for those affected by the big ice storms and cold temperatures. I will call my sister this evening. She's in Wisconsin.

Glee- that is interesting about your hubby's eyes and the tearing. My hubby has the same after his cataract surgery. When asking the dr he was told it was dry eyes. Hopefully they will look more into it on his next visit.

Ann-Marie- that's neat about your husbands woodworking. My dad made several items that I still cherish. What crochet projects are you doing? I've always got yarn on my lap.
m

Michi, I crochet - baby flip flops, baby point shoes, baby headbands, cute sort of modern bootees etc.

Anne-Marie, I am so glad you are finding your feet in your new location. I cannot imagine what the past year has been like for you.

Last time I saw my optometrist, I was told I have the start of cataracts so no doubt eye surgery is in my future:(. Here in Aus once you turn 75, you have to get an eye check and a Dr check before you can renew your drivers licence. Because of the early cataracts, I now have it noted on my licence that I must be wearing glasses whilst driving. No problems there, I dont drive at night and always wear prescription sunglasses during the day.

Hot here....

michi, do you ever hear anything of Lydia? Not sure if you live anywhere near each other in Florida.

My brother and sister in law are currently sitting in our living room with the baby... Who we will be keeping this week. They have a conference in Denver this week and we're babysitting. Should be interesting. It's been 13 years since I've had a 7 month old in my home :D

I woke up yesterday so sick! I was babysitting little Bruce last week, and he had a runny nose. The entire family has come down with his runny nose and all the associated aches and pains. We have been teaching him to share; I think he finally got the lesson LOL.

My husband and daughter have been planning a camping trip for MONTHS. They left yesterday morning, the car packed as tight as it could possibly be, and made the five-hour drive to Death Valley and set up camp. This morning, Karen came down with the same thing I have. Every inch of her is aching, coughing, congested, runny nose, etc. The wind has kicked up, making it worse. Dad has called the 'mission' off. Every time there is a big trip like this, they plan it for months, then the night before, everyone watches Apollo 13. There is a line in the movie where Jim Lovell (Tom Hanks) says, "We just lost the moon!" Karen feels as though they just lost the moon.

I am scrambling now, preparing for Rand to arrive in about five hours, maybe six because they have to stop at my son's house to drop Karen at her car and unpack her stuff. I promised to wash the dog's blankets yesterday and did not get that done, so I have to do it before he gets here. In the meantime, my lovely clean house is about to get trashed with camping gear.

There are worse issues in life.

Hello Ladies,
Lynnie, hope your are feeling better. The same for the rest of the family. My oldest son and his family have all been sick. I have stayed away... and have had no issues. But I don't go out much, So not around a lot of people. I have been working on the Feb. challenges. I also have been doing jigsaw puzzles...
The weather has been cold but it warmed up some today, the temps are up and down... But I am ready for Spring...
You all stay warm and safe... and have a wonderful week... I will stop in again soon...

I think I am caught up with everyone's news.

Life is getting back to normal here. I had a care conference for Mom at the nursing home, what a difference since she moved. She is so alert and her memory has come back which is so delightful. When she first moved in she made me take all the photos of Dad home because she was mad at him for not being there...he passed 33 years ago and she still misses him dearly everyday...true love! Today I took the photo back and she was so happy, she told me she wondered what happened to that photo! So happy she wanted it back.

My son and I have everything planned out for or Europe trip in April, what a trip it is going to be!!! I still have to shop for a short pair of rubber boots just in case we have more rain than not. Otherwise, I think I am ready! Every week my son sends me a little tidbit of things we are doing and it is keeping me pretty excited!

The weather here has gotten much more tolerable and I hope it lasts while we take the grandie to the snow maze this weekend.

Not too much new otherwise, hoping to get a good amount of scrapping done this month, I adore the Rise and Shine freebie this month. It will be perfect for all my breakfast photos on the trip. How bout everyone else, getting lots of layouts done?

Question? How do you organize trip photos and how do you scrap them? I want to do something different with this trip than all my other trips and am looking for some new ideas?

Have a happy week everyone!

I’ve been down with a migraine for a couple days. I had to go pick Alexis up at the Calgary airport and the Chinook winds set off a really bad one. We have been enjoying the great weather though. Melting everywhere. The airline broke Alexis walker on the way to Ottawa, and now after she is home we got word they can’t get the parts to fix it, so they will replace it. Hopefully before her next trip.

‘’my boy is working on a resume and with an organization to hopefully find him employment that will make accommodations that are needed.

Ann-Marie- those sound adorable! I hope you will share some examples. I crochet- but lap blankets, baby blankets, hats, neck warmers and shawls.

Jill- when your 'turn' comes for the eye surgery, please know it is an easy and pain free procedure- just nerve wracking. Here we always have an eye test for any driver's license renewal. Lydia moved to Colorado with one of her sons. I've not heard from her in a while. She has not replied to facebook messages.

Steph- fun for the baby sitting. I miss those days with a little one. Our 2 littles are 7 and 10 now.

Lynnie- Yikes on catching the germs from the baby. Hopefully just a short route.

Alta- hoping everyone feels better soon.

Karen- I'm hoping on scrapping more too.

Sherri- Yikes on the headache and that's awful about the walker!

Happy Wednesday to all. The weather is beautiful here. We were lucky not to receive the bitter cold so many received. However, rain scheduled for Friday and a cold front, so possibly quite chilly for us at baseball on Saturday.
Granddaughter Sarah scrapped her own 100 days of school photos with me on Monday. She has plenty of opinions and did it all herself!!! That girl is on it! Now I gave her just a choice of 2 different kits and 2 different templates [or we would still be looking or shopping]. LOL.

I'm working on the g'kiddo's valentines for their teachers. Sarah selected poses to be photographed and lending me her opinion on the page which is turning out to be a card for her teacher. David wanted a baseball photo with a candy bar wrapper. I might embroider a coaster or mug rug for them as well.

That's about all here.

Hey everyone, I'm just been lurking for a bit, nothing really earth-shattering to share over here. Eren is probably going to transfer to a university closer to us (about a 30-minute drive) because they are pretty lonely out in New Jersey. Plus boyfriend is here, LOL! This is happy news for us, though we had gotten used to their not being home all the time. ;)

I'm doing all right, just have the winter blahs. It's been a little warmer this week, which helps, but it's also been cloudy a lot. I should get out more, I guess. :) At least I'm scrapping and getting a few other things done.

Hi Karen,

I keep a detailed journal and then transcribe it, adding the applicable photographs, then look up some background information when I didn't manage to get it included in my journal. Sometimes I do it in Adobe's Indesign. Here are some examples of Scrapbook pages.

When I am done, I print the pages and put in a book. If I do Indesign, sometimes I have the book printed and give to anyone else who was on the trip with me.

I hope this helps,
Lynnette

Well, folks, I am still sick. I am watching Bruce and am still feeling pretty rough. Hopefully I will get better soon.

Lynnie hope you feel better soon.

‘’Karen have so much fun, I will live vicariously as that is a dream trip of mine

hypothetical question: if you were a very important piece of paper in an envelope full sized, and you were not in the last place four people acknowledged you being, where would you be? Hypothetically of course?

My sister in law and brother got home yesterday so Baby is back with them. It was fun having him here and listening to those little baby belly laughs!
Trying to convince my sons we should go hiking today. It's chilly but not freezing so it's perfect hiking weather (Plus the service pup woke up with entirely too much energy today and needs to work it out lol)
I start my new position at work on Monday after training the person taking my old position for the last week and a half. I have the feeling I will soon be doing both because I just don't think she's going to last. It's not easy working for a non-profit and even harder when that non-profit reports directly to the VA here in the states because they can be a... well nightmare is the best adjective I can think of! :D
Now off to make coffee <3

hypothetical question: if you were a very important piece of paper in an envelope full sized, and you were not in the last place four people acknowledged you being, where would you be? Hypothetically of course?

Hypothetically... I'm sure I'd be in the LAST PLACE you'd look Sherri! PLEASE! Why didn't you think of that?!? LOL Sorry I couldn't be of more help!

I am coming at y’all from mi iPad mini. My computer is broken again (wouldn’t boot up at all) so now it’s in the shop. :( I can’t scrap or download the newsletter hop so I’m going nuts. Sigh. Glad to see we’re doing mostly ok in the thread (get well soon, Lynnie!)

I am enjoying a wonderful Sunday here, weather is getting nicer and the sun is shining.

Michi, Yay for your granddaughter, that's a big accomplishment and it is nice to hear she has opinions. Here comes the next generation of scrappers. LOL

Lynnie, Sorry you are still sick, feel better. I can not thank you enough for sharing all your trip layouts with me. It gives me so many ideas on what I really want to capture in my trip book(s). I am not sure if I want to make 1 jam-packed book or divide them into countries, any opinions, good or bad?? What size of books does everyone print? I usually do 8x8 books to make shelf life easier.

Sherri, I wish I could take you with me.

Stephanie, having only 1 grandchild myself, I so miss those baby days.

Ane, sorry about your computer, hoping it works soon so you can get along with important business, you know, scrapping and all!

Ana, I can TRULY DISLIKE that post!!! For once... I hit dislike and MEANT it. OMG, I don't even have an iPad as backup! I do have my work laptop that I could bring home daily, but what a pain. Good luck getting it back and running quickly!

Lynnie, hope you feel better soon.

Sherri, did you find your important paper?

Happy SONday! Have a great week all!

Good news, I had at first discovered I had taken a photo (and scrapped of course) hypothetical son holding said piece of lost paper. Then I discovered that I had scanned said piece of paper, Huge sigh of relief.

Then I am at computer, turn around to talk to son and see the envelope, under a bunch of dear kids dads stuff, and lift it all up and there it was. I had no memory of scanning it, but when I did I most likely left it on the computer desk, dear kids dad most likely moved it when the printer needed replaced in the fall. So all is found, and a huge sigh of relief.

WOOHOO! Yay Sherri! Isn't it always when you relax and stop thinking about it that you find the stuff you're looking for?
Btw, I love that you refer to your "hypothetical son" instead of your son holding the hypothetical paper... Got a GOOD chuckle out of that!!!

Good morning and happy Monday, all! It's good to be back after a long trip. We came home late Saturday night, which was also our anniversary. Hubby woke up yesterday feeling sick... had him tested, but it's "just" a sinus infection so he's on antibiotics and hopefully will feel better soon. I spent all day yesterday doing laundry. I had to laugh and told hubby we couldn't take any longer vacations because we don't own enough clothes to be gone for even one more day. I took thousands of photos, so it will take me a week to get them all processed. Happily, I have a local crop on Saturday!

I plan to catch up here at Gingerscraps this week, as well. I came in extra early to my office this morning (around 6:30 a.m.) and had nearly 2,000 emails to wade through. I was able to delete a lot of them... but I still have a couple hundred that need responses... so I'll be doing that for the next couple of days. But I wanted to pop in and say hello!

Good news! I will have my computer back tomorrow. Bad news- I have to reload all my software/apps back on it.

Also good news- my LO is up for LOTW this week (the week ending Jan. 28). It is the Bubble Run one. Please vote for someone. :)

Well, they did a whole bunch of stuff to my computer. I picked it up, plugged everything back in, and nothing. I know it’s a small thing, but I’m wrecked. :( This is gonna take some hubby power, and hopefully not another $600.

Oh my Ane, I feel for you, computers can be such a headache. I am so happy that I invested in my future (free) computer service when I put my son through computer sciences. He is a computer wizard and I am sorry you are too far away to lend him to you. Hope your hubby can fix it for you.
