Everyday Chatting & Waffling {2026} Let's get to know each other!

Morning, all. My coworkers are stressing me out. Help me lift my mood by telling me something good. What has made you smile today?
Sorry I didn't get to you yesterday, my friend!
I had TWO goodies yesterday and both of them AT WORK!
Both of my testing issues were resolved IN MY FAVOR. I was able to work on billing all day yesterday due to an ordering error on the DAC's part so I didn't have to test yesterday and I don't have to test a completely non-verbal student. (which shouldn't be my responsibility anyway, TBH)
I'll be doing the testing as soon as the materials show up and I'll be testing "the other student in that building" when we schedule, but the case manager will test the non-verbal student themselves. Why the parents don't simple sign the refusal form is beyond me, but ....

Don't know if that helps you @breoni , but it was a GREAT relief for me.

Have a wonderful Friday Eve! Spring Break starts for me tomorrow!
Love and Blessings.

Wow ... life just flies by when you are busy. And it wasn't even big things going on, just little ones. But the days and hours seem to be flying by anymore. Not enough hours in the day to get things done even with my structured days.

I would have "loved" to have been at Adobe headquarters ..... what a neat experience. Back when I was working as a graphic designer I participated in a few of their virtual conferences. To be honest, some of the information was overwhelming. Nothing like smarter people making you feel like a newbie when you thought you had a good idea of how things actually worked. lol !!

Well, the weather here in southwestern Pennsylvania is more menopausal than I am at the present moment. It's been chilly and blah and today it is in the 60's and I am sitting here with my window in my office open enjoying the fresh air. (oh and two cat's fighting for the window ledge to take a cat nap)

I've not done much scrapbooking the last few days so I better catch up on that before the end of the month. I still have like 3 or 4 challenges to complete.

And I have my new blog/website to start working on. The two biggest things in my life are being a Mimi to my 6 grandchildren and the other is my love of all things Disney of course. So I went and bit the bullet and bought my dot com .... themagicalmimi.com !!! I should probably work on an opening page or a site under construction page at least. There are SO many things I want to do with it.

Just more to add to my TO~DO list right now. Have a great day all ..... <3

@breoni Has your day gone better today? Some things that made me smile the past couple of days: getting to use my musical skills, seeing my hubby after a long day, getting fun things in the mail, reading what I want to read. :)

I have been busy working on my schoolwork. This week it's a PowerPoint presentation of at least 20 slides. I'm about halfway done, and it's due Sunday. I am not a PowerPoint wizard like I am a research wizard and I have yet to work in the primary sources, eek! I'll get it done, but it's not going to be very pretty.

Have a great Friday everyone! <3

Thank you all for sharing your things that make you happy. They definitely made me smile. And, even better, today is FRIDAY! Yay! I'm taking my nephew to a movie tomorrow, so that will be fun. We both read the book that the movie is based on, so I'm sure we'll have lots to review and dissect.

I <3'd doing powerpoint presentations. Funny that when I first took a powerpoint class I totally hated it, but I grew to love it once I worked more with it and found some cool tutorials to add a special touch to them. Whenever there were group projects in class I was always voted to put the powerpoint together. LOL!!!

A good friend of mine just started the same program I just graduated from and she asked me for advice ... I told her learn powerpoint and learn to love it too; because you will be doing a TON of them. ;)

Happy Monday, all!

Nephew and I LOVED the movie. They remained very true to the book (Project Hail Mary) and we greatly enjoyed it. I was also able to create several layouts this weekend, so I'm feeling good about that. And, another positive note, Randy and I are running away and making a long weekend of our trip, so this will be a short work week for me. YAY!

I'm so glad, Shana. That's always the biggest issue when turning a book into a movie. It sounds like a fascinating concept. I'm hoping to have more time TO read when I retire. Hoping to have more time to do a lot of things. We shall see. Have fun on your long weekend. I'm on Spring Break, so maybe we'll see how that "more time" thing works out??? HA!

What movie is that? I just took my grandson to the movies to see Marty Supreme, he read the book. It was fabulous and won a few awards.

I greatly enjoyed reading "Project Hail Mary." And I also greatly enjoyed reading "The Martian" by the same author (Andy Weir). His books are clearly speculative fiction, but they are fast-paced and he interlaces enough humor that both Randy and I are eager to hear what happens next, and you'll often hear us laugh out loud while reading these. :)

Today I'm working on my summer youth programs... making rooming assignments for the teens based on their interests, finalizing shirt designs, and picking what shirt colors I think will look the best in group photos! LOL! I'm glad to have a day to focus on these little details.

Does anyone have any plans for Easter?

Shana, we are celebrating Holy Week with scripture readings. I was thinking of starting to watch The Chosen as well. We've just never got around to watching it before. And I just spent a chunk of money on Easter gifts for hubby. We haven't done baskets since all the kids left, so this will be fun. I am hoping he will do it as well. We talked about it but didn't really get anywhere. Today I just went to Target and did it. We also have a church conference we'll be watching on TV Saturday and Sunday as well.

We don't have any plans specifically for Easter, but I've started reaching out to the youth that will travel with me this summer. I asked these teens to let me know their favorite type of candy. Currently in the lead is anything chocolate and freeze-dried skittles. LOL!

Freeze-dried Skittles?!? How does one go about getting those? Must be a new thing. As my parents, grandparents, great-grandparents, etc., etc., etc., used to say... Kids these days. HAHAHA!

I guess we have kinda BIG plans. I'm a little torn, but very pleased as our daughter, SIL and grandson are confirmed in the Catholic church on Saturday night. Not torn really. I am very happy for them. I am. Lacy was raised Lutheran/Episcopalian and I'm always reminded of the line in Steel Magnolias when Truvy tells Annelle, "God don't care which church you go, long as you show up!" I just have some questions, shall we say, about Catholicism. (but that's between me and God and we've been discussing it at length... lol) I'm very happy for them because it's their decision and they've found a wonderful church family and we've been very welcomed there too. So it's all good.
Sunday we're having a HUGE family gathering at their house. I guess the Cooper/Clausen clan is up to 15 now. While that may not seem like many to y'all, that is HUGE to us, in a family of four and Freddy, as an only child. It doesn't sound like it will be nice enough to have any outside Easter egg hunt or activities. 😭 Mother Nature's off her meds again. We had rain/sleet/ice last night & today. Grrrrrrrr..... and it looks like it might only get up into the 40s (4C) on Sunday.

So yes... rather big plans and I'm excited. I've got black jelly beans for Freddy. smh  (tradition) and Jelly Belly Beans for Koltey  grandson... but he has to share with Nick, SIL... smh, again, tradition) and chocolate eggs for "me" and everyone. :D (grandpa cliff used to pull them out of his suit-pocket for all the kids and kids-at-heart, wonderful memories.) <3

Wow a bunch of comments since I was here last :) FUN!

@AJsRandom Ane, I loved doing PowerPoint presentations. If you need help, reach out. You can always send it to me if you want it prettying up :)

@breoni Shana, you are always so busy - I think you need the freeze dried skittles and chocolate to keep your energy up!

@Carla minicooper452 Carla, I love Steel Magnolias. I was raised Church of England and now attend (for the past 48 years) a Lutheran Church. I have been to others, but I love the familiarity of the liturgy and the blend of hymns and modern songs. Plus I attend a very giving church, which suits me just fine. It sounds as though you have great plans for the weekend.

@Route66, Karen, @GingerScraps did a whole post on Marty Supreme. She loved it.

@lebjs Jo, it is nice to see you here :)

@honeybee, Melissa, We have a lot in common. We love Disney, our grandchildren and PowerPoint (not necessarily in that priority order!). My daughter worked at Disney for a long time, in Disneyland (California) and at Disney Paris. She is still really close with her Disney friends and there were a TON of them at her wedding last November. I mean a TON. The fun thing about Disney folks is that they know how to pose. We had a wedding some years back (that sadly did not stick) where EVERYONE in the wedding, except the best man were Disney folk. They loved posing and I have a million gorgeous pictures from the wedding. I wish I could use them just for pages from time to time, but she is happily married to someone else and I would hate to have her ever bump into one. I have loads of Disney pages, if you look through my gallery. I have a lot of grandchildren pages, too. As for Adobe, some of our designers were on the beta testing team for Adobe, so we always got a look at new features early. Funny story, one of the designers had her stuff used in the opening of Adobe photoshop (or maybe elements) back in the day. Her son was in a photoshop class at school and his friends were totally surprised to see his face in the opening of the pages. FUN!

@DebraB What colour did you do the laundry room floor? You can't drop a line like that and not give us all the scoop! :)

Me and My life:
We are having Easter over at our place, as usual. We have a small condo, but the kids like coming there. We usually have Rand, Me, Karen, Jon, Steven, Nessa, Bruce Scarlett and our friend Lois. That is nine. (I had to put down the names to count, haha). The fly in the frosting is that we just discovered a leak behind our shower. The water damage folks are coming out today to tear out the wall behind the toilet (which is next to the shower) and put in big fans to dry it out. Depending on the extent of the damage, they may need to tear out the back wall of the shower also. I am so sad our place will be a total mess for Easter, but it is family, so we will manage. Fortunately, we have another bathroom with a shower for us and they should still be able to use the toilet (hopefully!) They have the parts on order for a new shower, so that is good! Fortunately, the wall, the water damage and the shower are covered, so we will not have to pay. The thing I am concerned about is that there is carpet in the bathroom (not our idea, it came that way). We wanted to replace it with flooring, but there is asbestos in the glue they used for the original tiling when they built it in the 60s. It means that we would have to pay for asbestos abatement to replace the floors. Annoying! Anyway, the tackboard under the carpet has rotted from the water damage, so I am concerned we will have to pay the asbestos abatement.

Funny story to start your day…

Scarlett is a little bossy this morning. She announced that “mommy must make my chocolate milk” and “nana can make my breakfast.” Then she said “who is going to cuddle me?” When I volunteered, she said “No, you are making my breakfast, mommy is making my chocolate milk, where’s Daddy?”

Apparently the world revolves around her!

Yes Lynnie... Lacy is very comfortable with the Anglican liturgy and Lutheran is so similar. In fact, her bestie Char was so surprised when we both were quite able to follow along with Mass very comfortably almost immediately. Of course, we also volunteered for years downtown at Sharing and Caring Hands, run by an amazing woman, Mary Jo Copeland, who led us in prayer before every meal and we finished every prayer with the Hail Mary, so even before she knew she was going to do this 20 years later, she learned that prayer! LOL! She's going to be very happy with her choice, I'm sure.
Your little Scarlett sounds like a pistol! What fun.
Love your new profile pic and siggie too.

Happy Easter all!

Wow, I am so glad I found this chatting thread. And I love how you all are yourselves and openly talk about everything (even the so-called taboo topics such as religion). I was born and raised into the catholic religion and I never understood it, and had many questions about things and what they believed. I walked away from the catholic church many years ago. During the last three years with my cancer battle I become a more faithful person. Started reading the bible on my own, participating in a few bible studies, I also am currently doing verse studies, character studies, and word studies as better to understand things. I have learned more in the last three years on my own than I ever did growing up in the catholic church. My choice to "believe" differently than some of my close family members is the reason there is so much tension in the family. But I am strong in my belief and believe that you are to respect everyone's choice of religon even if it differs from yours. The family has tried to pull me back in several times and I will not budge. I am happy where I am at in my life. I am also frowned up that I was "re-baptized" as a baptist back in 2004 during my husbands battle with cancer. He was baptized Methodist as a baby, but we both chose to get baptized back then. We aren't attending Baptist services anymore as our church closed down after COVID. I am comfortable practicing my faith on my own. It is how I start my day every day and it works for me where I am. I currently don't label myself as a particular faith, just a faithful believer.

Currently we are getting ready for Easter tomorrow. Got all the grandkids baskets done ... finally !!! I would much rather buy all this stuff for my grandkids than for my adult kids. However, 6 grandkids may put me in the poor house. lol! My daughter is unable to have anymore kids, but my oldest (even though they took custody of 4 kids), still want one of their own some day. My youngest child told me he will never get married and leave me. lol!

I hope you all have a wonderful Easter no matter what you do or who you spend time with.

Easter blessings to you all !!!!

I'm so glad you were rebaptized and feel comfortable again honeybee! One of the FEW Blessings of CV, IMO was the advent of virtual services. I go to church online most weeks now. We found our home church sort of turned away from some of our core beliefs and felt that we had to leave there and then of course, CV and closed entirely. Well, I absolutely ADORED my Sis-IL's church about 50 miles away and it was a perfect opportunity to begin following them weekly. The church where our oldest was originally baptized has also continued online services and their priest has changed so we're thinking of perhaps trying again to see if things have also changed.

The service last night was beautiful....... BUT LONG! I did cry. I am so very happy for the kids. They look right at home there. Everyone seems to love them and the building is quite lovely. Man, I was exhausted by the time we got home though.

And I do NOT want to go back to work tomorrow! 😭 Forty-Five Days though! That's doable.

HAPPY EASTER!

Love and Blessings.

Has anyone seen @VariaMoon around. She posted regularly for a while. I think she is off traveling, I just wanted to make sure she was okay. Someone else mentioned that they had not seen her around in a while and I hope all is well.
