Everyday Chatting & Waffling {2026} Let's get to know each other!

How is everyone? We are starting to feel better around here (now that my son and I have passed it to my husband) lol !

I haven't gotten much scrapping done because I spent more time lying on the couch in the living room than upstairs in my office being creative.

However, I did tackle a "very BIG project" that I have had on my list to do for a while. I finally cleaned off my EHD and got rid of a lot of old digi scrapping stuff or things that I don't use anymore. It wasn't as tough as I thought it would be. I do like how I created categories for the different themes of kits that I have. Makes it so much easier when I have photos to scrap to find a kit to match the theme now.

The only bad thing is I made room to buy more kits and digi scrapping supplies. ;)

My "digi style" has evolved over the years; so there were literally a ton of things that no longer got used so they went bye-bye. They are not gone forever ... I do have everything over the years backed up on discs. "Hello, my name is Melissa and I am a digi-hoarder." LOL !!!!

So I feel quite accomplished that I cleaned out both EHD's (yes there are two ... lol), my regular laptop files, my dropbox files are cleaned out and organized, and I also cleaned out my folders in my email accounts. Things are more organized and I feel lighter, I don't need any clutter weighing me down.

Now I am learning OneNote and creating my own personal planner digitally ..... which I love. It has been keeping me on task since the beginning of the year. (Which I really needed desperately). I used to be a paper planner/calendar type of girl .... but digitally has me hooked. And my weekly task pages can evolve as I change over the year ... I am not stuck in one layout like a paper planner gives. I've also started a Vacation Trip Planner for an upcoming trip to Disneyworld next year. Haven't been there since 2016, I have a long bucket list. ;)

Good morning, all! I just read all of the updates and it sounds like everyone has been busy! Randy and I had a lovely vacation to celebrate our 15th anniversary. We did Disneyland for a couple of days and then a cruise. One of our stops was at Puerto Vallarta. We were there two days prior to all of the horrible activities now plaguing that area. So sad to see such a beautiful country having what is basically warfare between their government and the cartel.

Going to be a couple of extremely busy work weeks for me. Board meetings, local annual meetings, Kid Wind challenges, and our national annual meeting will have me on the road or in the air quite a bit. Will try to pop in as I'm able!

Hi Melissa, it's been an interesting life here. I haven't been able to access my school (it's an online university) since last Friday. Things are coming due that I can't finish due to that no access. I have tried just about everything. I've also been battling migraines, anxiety, and a variety of crazy emotions to go along with my poor sleep. But there are good things happening too. I got great satisfaction from my 2 volunteer "jobs" this week and my scripture study. I'm glad you're feeling better and that you are accomplishing things. Good for you--you deserve it! :)

Shana, I hope you survive your busy life! Thanks for popping in!

I hope everyone has a great weekend! <3

Nice to hear from you, Shana! It sounds as though you had an adventurous, but wonderful, time!

Ane, have you contacted the school or other students? Maybe it is the site! Also, clearing your browser cache, logging out and logging back in, using a different browser, trying a different computer (just temporarily to see if it is the computer)?

Melissa, I am a digi-hoarder, too. BAD digi hoarder. I can't get rid of anything, even stuff I would never use that is horrendous. I don't know what is wrong with me. I keep my drive pretty organized, though, but am always coming up with new organizational ideas. For example, I have a tough time finding templates I want to use, sometimes. I keep everything organized by designer for ease of preventing duplicate purchases! Within designer, though, I sort out templates into a separate folder so I can always find them. I also sort out styles because I can never find them when I need them. within every kit, I sort the elements by Misc, Flowers and Foliage, Ribbons etc and Word Art. It makes scrapping easier. I also tag the kit title with categories (Disney, love, ocean, nature, UK, USA, etc). I used to think that all the time organizing was taking away from scrapping, but then I realized there is something soothing about organizing. A long time ago, I was in a calendar store and saw a calendar for the AnalRetentive. it was before I knew what that phrase meant, but I remember admiring it so much with all the organizational tips and charts. I purchased it and the office never let me forget it!! I think organization is a form of control over my surroundings. I always have too much on my daily plate and the dive into an organizational spat helps me accomplish something and relax at the same time.

@FormbyGirl Lynnie, I did all that and more. The school stopped responding to me. I finally found a phone number and we called today. Tech support was able to help me fix the problem, at least on this computer. I get to do the fun stuff to my laptop later. Just waiting to hear from my prof to see if he will give me more time to finish the final paper. If not, I have 3 days to write 8-10 pages. Hairy.

I have a day off babysitting and I am thrilled! I love to watch the kids, but I am a bit under the weather (a lot) and welcome an extra day of peace and quiet to recover. Plus - Steven and Nessa are having a staycation next week, so no babysitting!! I get 10 days, maybe 12 in a row!! I won't know what to do with myself.

I am feeling a little better today. I finally broke down yesterday and went to Urgent Care. They were CLOSED! What is the point of urgent care if they are closed on the weekends :) I came right home, but decided to book an appointment online with Doctors on Demand. She was a lovely doctor. She asked tons of questions and listened as best she could to my breathing. She prescribed some medication that has done wonders. I always wonder why I don't take care of this sooner.

Hope everyone's March has started well.

@FormbyGirl ... glad you are feeling better. And yeah, that is weird that an urgent care is closed on the weekends.

@AJsRandom ... glad you got extra time for your paper. The school I just graduated from was an online school. There were "always" technical issues with the site, or email, ... luckily the majority of our professors gave us their personal emails/cell phones to be able to contact them in case there was technical issues with the school blackboard site.

I am finally feeling human again ... that "crud" we all had here was brutal.

Tomorrow we are cooking a spaghetti dinner for our kids and grandkids .... I just love when all the grandkids get together. For so long we didn't have any grandchildren compared to most of our friends. Then in January of 2020 the first grandbaby arrived and he was our NICU miracle baby. November of 2022 grandbaby #2 made her grand entrance. Now, I have said I have 6 grandchildren total. Last June (2025) my stepson and his fiancee took custody of his half brothers 4 children. 11, 10, and a set of 4 year old twins. They love coming to Mimi and Gramps house ... and we give them more love than their actual biological grandparents. It is a very sad situation, but those 4 kids are in the best place they can be. The two older girls are getting straight A's in school, and the 4 year old twins (a girl and a boy) are in headstart and learning so much. They didn't speak any words when they were put in my stepson's custody ... now they say everything and count perfectly to ten. Which is a big deal compared to where they were. They will always be our grandchildren, my family has stepped up and helped get those kids what they needed and they love being a part of this big family.

Maybe I will have some messy spaghetti-face pictures to scrap a page about during dinner tomorrow. LOL !!!!

The pending winter storm is missing us (thank goodness -- we can finally see the grass around here. It is just going to rain all week .... I can deal with that. I only have to go out on Wednesday to get my B12 infusion at Oncology and then take my Mom on Thursday for her testing for her heart.

Hello everyone, I have been MIA while I travelled to Portugal for 2 weeks. I must say that I had the most wonderful time cycling the Algarve trail coast to coast. The trip was amazing but I am glad not to be living out of a suitcase any longer. We had a new destination everyday so it was very busy. The people were very gracious and the food was amazing! My cat missed me immensely, as I her!

I hope everyone is well and waiting for the Scrap-A-Thon!

Unfortunately, I just don't have time to catch up with all the dailies so I will begin here. I am just working on catching up on life's busy activities like unpacking, laundry and grocery shopping not to mention sleep. I think I still need a day to catch up to my time zone but I am taking it day by day. The snow is still here so I have some shoveling to do as well as taking my car in for annual maintenance.

I am waiting to get photos from my son as he brought his good camera, I did do phone photos as well.

Have a wonderful week everyone!

@Route66 welcome back! I'm so glad to hear you had a great time in Portugal dear Karen! just reading your post made me crave the food, especially the cod, which is one of their specialties. To combat jet lag, try to stay hydrated, because even though it might not seem like it, you get dehydrated when you travel. If possible, get some sunlight during the day and try going to bed an hour later. Each day, go to bed an hour or two later, and you won't experience the hormonal imbalance of jet lag and the typical headaches; a nurse friend gave me that advice, and it's what has worked best for me when I've had to travel, looking forward to see your photos soon when you scrap them.

I spent yesterday at the Camera Club in our community printing scrapbook pages. I am so pleased with how they are coming out. I purchased the paper, and the charge for the ink was 60c per page. I am very pleased with the quality.

I came home and started going through all the ones I have not put in books yet, there are hundreds of them. I went through and sorted them into the books (James and Family, Karen and Jon, Steven and Family, etc.) I am so pleased with how many I have. I need to add them to books, though. I have loads of pages, it is just time I am lacking haha.

It was a busy day yesterday, a morning meeting that got canceled, a lunch with my club ladies, the afternoon printing scrapbook pages, then the evening sorting them, plus tons of stuff along the way (like scrapping, commenting, etc).

Today I met someone about 1/2 hour away to pic up a plaque that has to be engraved. Then I had to pop over to a clubhouse to submit the layout of the room for a meeting on the 14th, then I went through a drive through car wash and washed and vacuumed the car. Now I am at home, working my way through my todo list! haha, but on here first.

Hi !! Just popping in real quick. Taking it really easy today. Had my B12 infusion yesterday and I am wiped out. Usually it takes about four days for me to not feel so tired and heavy. So it is a good excuse to hang out up here in my home office and scrapbook until I feel like I need a nap then I can just hop in my recliner for a little bit for a snooze. Monday night was spaghetti night with the fam and it was so fun. I didn't take any pictures, I just lived in the moment. I need to start taking more pictures, guess another thing to add to my bucket list.

@FormbyGirl ... love your new profile picture and signature.

It's a rainy gloomy day here in Southwestern Pennsylvania (better than snow), good day to stay inside and rest.

Someone was mentioning in one of the other threads that they don't like to do personal journaling. I want to point out that you can quote a book, use a poem or something else along those lines. You don't have to provide an insight into your life. I highly recommend Becky Hemsley or Donna Ashworth as poets to quote! Or... you can write your own.

Thanks Ginger! I'll visit those threads soon. :)

Hi everyone! Does daylight savings still have anyone out of it like me? 🤪 It gets me every time.

I just wrapped up a class last week and started a new one the next day. I had some trouble with the school website and got an extension on my term paper, which I wrote all last week. I got a great grade on it and an A in the class. Somehow I still have a 4.0. I'll give credit to the man upstairs.

I have also been dealing with sleep issues, and have been seeing a sleep therapist for a month. She thinks it might be menopause, which is a possibility, since my body has not been doing its thing. But I have to get a doc to test my hormones. That's my next step.

I hope everyone's having a great week! <3

Menopause really sucks !!! I went through it years ago and then went through it again last year ... a nice little gift from chemo and radiation during my cancer treatment. Sweating and sleep were the worst. I used to lay with ice packs behind my back and a cool cloth on my head just to get a few hours sleep (and the ceiling fan on super high along with the air conditioning). My oncologist put me on a new medicine for my anxiety and it also helps with the effects of the menopause. So far, it is working great. But every now and then I get a horrible hot flash. But not like I used to.

Unfortunately, I am still not feeling well. I thought I was, but I spoke too soon. I don't necessarily think it is still the aftereffects from the B12 but either a UTI or kidney infection. I am going to give it one more day and if I am still feeling the same, a call to the family doctor it is. I am so susceptible to UTI's. I lost count how many I had during the last three years.

I brought my laptop down from my office, so I guess I will just sit here while it storms and scrapbook as long as the power stays on.

Good morning, all! I'm excited to read all the new threads as I'm always looking for new things to watch or read! Yay!

Just returned home last night from Nashville where we had our national annual conference. I was there to chaperone (play paparazzi) for our national Youth Leadership Council. It was a special year as one of my students was selected as the National Youth Leadership Spokesperson. She gave a speech during the general session in front of 8,000 directors and CEOs. I don't think I could have done that at the age of 17, but she did great!!!

I'm mostly unpacked and have almost caught up on the laundry. I'm at my office today in hopes of digging out of hundreds of emails. I'm going to need a lot of coffee today. LOL!
