Hullo ladies, been rather spotty with the online-existence. I'm so burned out by the end of the work day I am struggling to do the "fun" things that require me to be in front of a keyboard. I'm also a little teary, as my "big" project right now is a memory book of the yorkie I lost in November. I miss doing stuff from travelling, but I'm not travelling since my partner can't come with me, and it's not as much fun alone, and I'm finding when I DO go places, I don't end up taking pictures any more. Whole big tumble of emotions. The flat I rent may or may not have been sold, and I have no communication from the guy who signed the contract with me, so I'm a little confused and annoyed by all that.
oh my dear, so sorry to hear about Yorkie, and all what you are going thru, keeping you in my thoughts. Sending loads of love dear lady.

Still keeping myself busy. I'm studying to take another Civil Service test (Administrative Assistant). Hopefully I'll be able to just move within the building I'm at now instead of going on interviews all over Nassau trying to find something that's suitable. It will mean more money. If it wasn't for that, I'd not even take the test. Civil Service is based on set salaries for given jobs and years of service. Everyone doing the same job whether in our building or in the college, gets paid the same. So the passing the test, will get me a pay raise.
Philip is still struggling but liking his new major (Hotel Management and Technology). Still hasn't found a job (although we prefer he focus on his studies). He still hasn't signed up to get his learner's permit to drive. This kid, I swear, needs a fire lit under him. My both kids are so different from one another.
Molly is working 3 part time jobs, living with her boyfriend in his father's house and trying to pay back her student loans. Thank goodness they don't pay rent otherwise they'd never be able to afford anything.
Finally starting to build my relationship back up with my sister after not speaking for over a year after my father passed away. She came over yesterday for a few hours and we went out to Chinese for an early dinner.
Still have boxes to go through from the move from upstairs to downstairs and after the house reno. I don't think that will ever get done. It seems to be just stored in the basement at this point.
Stay well and be safe.
LilyAnn

would love your help if you have time :)

@dorannmwin Congratulations on the upcoming graduations. Hopefully we will be celebrating yours soon.

@Route66 Karen, so sorry to hear he is going downhill so quickly. I hope you are getting to spend time with him. I can only imagine how tough it must be right now.

@Carla minicooper452 Carla, have lots of glittery fun!

@Sylvan It is so good to see you back. I am looking forward to the memory book of your little Yorkie. Sorry your life is in a bit of a turmoil.

@LilyAnn Glad to hear you are rebuilding your relationship with your sister. I remember how hard that was on you.

Is it me, or are we missing more siggies than usual?

I am off to bed. I have been burning the candle at all ends and in the middle. I realized today that I had not filed my taxes and it was about the last day, so I rounded up the tax forms and did the taxes. I am so glad it is all done. I am off to bed now.

It broke mine so bad I had to remove it. I ASSUME it's because it was an old image and didn't get ported in the right way, I just haven't taken the time yet to fix that.

The updated version of information I have is... that the landlord ALSO didn't know that someone would be sending me a letter demanding I stop pay him and instead pay elsewhere, so now I'm even MORE confused.

Holding on a little under two more weeks, and I'll have a little cheeky break up to London to see the man, and I am counting the MINUTES this time.

Ive noticed a lot of missing siggies since the upgrade to @FormbyGirl . My old one came across (I think..can't remember exactly) but I have made a new one since then, smallened to fit the size criteria. Little Jill has lost width and height 😲. Wouldnt it be good if weight loss was that easy IRL!! I AM losing height as I age and I didnt have much to begin with...yikes

dear I am worry that you and your landlord are victims of a scam. Please when you receive those kind of letters, contact immediately to your landlord, or to the institution that sent you the letter. Actually those kind of matters, never are handle by letter, my logic is that the landlord would visit you along with the possible buyer and let you know what it's going on and the reasons, those kind of matters are always handle face to face, not by letter. I hope that you didn't payed the rent elsewhere, because for sure is a scam.
I have read, from the last year, that there are scammers that have sent letters from banks, etc., and asking to people to pay elsewhere, and all of them are scammers operating in Europe, and all around the world of course, but as I'm living in Europe, I have read what it's going on in these neck of the woods. Another scam is that the scammers send you a message from "x" delivering company asking you to pay 1 or 2 euros, please never pay a single coin, don't either open those message or go to the link, because they'll empty your bank account, here the police has warning to all of us, that never pay a single extra coin for a delivering pack, simply when you order, you do all the purchasing and don't believe that you must pay extras, it's always a scam.

Happy Tuesday to all. We've had some busy times here at home.
1. Termites [again] in the kitchen cabinets!
2. Both g'kiddo's- busy with their activities [baseball and dance]. There are pages in the gallery.
3. Assisting with fund raising for both. I've been embroidering towels etc to assist.
4. My ear....it's past 2 months. Although improved, not quite there yet.
5. On a good note, hubby helped untangle yarn for me!!!!!
6. AND - an orchid I had given up for dead- has come to life! I was planning on throwing all 4 into the garbage as they looked like a dead stick. On a whim, I stuck them outside in the ground with zero prep or fertilizer or anything, just up to Mother Nature. Guess what? ONE is blooming like crazy~ Leaves, 12 buds , and 4 flowers have opened. I don't get, but I'm happy.
A page on it - Friday.

Well, I know it's 99% not a scam because it was an official letter sent via the city with the federal stamp of approval. I did know that he had intended to sell the place- because his wife wants a house in the mountain, but the last walk through was over a month ago, and it had been a person interested in owning the house to LIVE HERE. It's sounding more like they sped things up where he had expected it to take more time. Today he sent me a screenshot of an email and phone number, so I guess today I'll need to make some calls.

Even if I had WANTED to pay someone, they included no IBAN or contact information, so it was a pretty useless letter, and I am very nonplussed about the whole behaviour, including from the landlord. But then, he's kinda sketched me out for a few months, pushing me to buy the garage (an open small stone structure for CHF 145,000?!?!?) and saying that if I wasn't available to do a walkthrough then he would do it without me present, no problem. ... Um, no, that's a BIG PROBLEM. So now I have security cameras installed which notify me of movement when the door opens so if I am not home, I can see. It's probably more paranoia than anything, but I really dislike the way of operating. And I have no idea who bought the place or the terms, if it was the one who wanted an investment property or the one who wanted to live here, and so is going to expect me to leave even with a two year contract still in force.

Usually in Switzerland, the scams we get are an English-language phone call claiming to be the federal police because you've been accused of a crime and quickly answer to avoid jail. As if anything official would ever be in English, dai.

Oh my dear, I feel glad that isn't a scam, but I feel upset for the way that the landlord is acting, pretty weird to my mind. I hope that the one that bought the place is the one who wanted an investment and you can continue living there, and hoping that the new landlord is better mental state than the actual.
Federal police speaking in english  in Switzerland that's a new thing, here in Finland we received text messages from "x" delivering company, and the weird is that many of us we don't order from Amazon  and in so bad finnish that anyone notices that google translate has a hand on it, good thing that finnish language is one of the most difficult after chinese mandarin.
Take care dear lady, hoping that all is resolved well and soon.

Hi everyone!

The oratorio may be over, but its music still reverberates in my head, lol. Can't get it out, but at least it's good music. My current course is winding down, but I still have a 6-8 page paper due in 10 days. Today I think I eliminated some sources, but we'll see. I had lunch with friends yesterday and book club last night (still need to finish the book, lol). Hubby has tomorrow off (normally he wouldn't) and I think I will be doing homework while he bakes bread. :)

And an update on the is-it-a-scam house trauma... Lol.

I got a letter from the Swiss courts this morning outlining the full case against my landlord and the "penalties" including loss of properties so it's not JUST about mine. I also spoke to the neighbour (that he had in the past told me not to trust because she's a busybody) and she said he's already had two businesses go into catastrophic failure so she's not surprised that it's happened yet again, because when you try and play fast and loose with the rules, what do you THINK is going to happen?

The court fella called me yesterday and confirmed that the property will be going up on auction, but not sooner than a year from now, and there's no guarantee that the person buying would not be someone looking for an investment property where having a renter would be a net benefit. So I should be calm about everything- and I am. I knew I didn't necessarily want to stay here forever, but at least I know that I am "safe" for now and have the time to look for the real perfect place.

Thank God, sweetie! What I've been praying for... or at least some form of it.
Now you can just relax for a bit and look around for something that suits you and your little family. Love you loads. Hope you can find the perfect solution soon. Take care.

I really hope so! In the meantime. I am headed out to London on Saturday and then back for one day of work on Wednesday before leaving Thursday morning for a long weekend on the Tuscan coast. Because I am a serious person (who seriously needs vacation!!)

What an odyssey! Well, at least you're clear on what's going on now thank God! and hey, you've got an interesting story in case that someday you would like to scrap it. I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers. Have a safe trip to London my dear. Enjoy and have a great time on the Tuscan coast too.

Sylfie, wow! What a story! I'm so glad you're safe for now & I wish you luck in finding a better place!

I have been researching for my paper that's due Sunday. It's pretty much why I haven't been around. But I am done for the day and am taking some me time. In other shenanigans this week, I've gone to the dentist and dropped off my desktop at the fix-it shop. That's my scrapping computer, so I'm feeling a bit put out that I can't scrap.

I'm glad everyone is doing all right! That's what I love to see. :)

I noticed that too, Mine had gone all screwy as it was an incorrect link - so just deleted & saved a new one to my photohost. I wasn't able to share the image link from the gingerscraps gallery for some reason
