Anne-Marie: How sad to have so much grief in one year, and then have to deal with a bully. I hope things work out there. I hope you get good participation in your challenge. I have created my calendar for 2025. I will have to see if I can sort out the credits and post in the challenge.

Ane: So sorry about your migraine and ankle. Then having all the papers to write. You have your hands full.

Shana: I am so impressed that you manage to keep up with scrapping while you are as busy as you are. I always end up letting the scrapping go!

Lily Ann: How is the PHN doing? I hope you are feeling a little better.

Did I mention that I created a video for my birthday party? When I create the videos, I scrap each slide. For the birthday party, I created 652 slides. If anyone is interested in seeing the slides, here is a link: Lynnette's Birthday Party

No need to watch the whole thing, just to see how the slides are created. it is an hour long. We just played it in the background on a loop through the party. It was fun.

Lynnie, thank you for sharing your awesome birthday video. What a lovely tribute to share with your friends and family.

WOW Lynnie, Your video is fabulous! I am sure everyone loved it and yes I went right to the end! Thanks for sharing.

The rain has started here...yes it is November and it is raining but it is expected to dip down and change to snow. It was inevitable that we get the fluffy white stuff but I am happy that it was delayed by almost a month.

I have been working on Christmas cards, now working on birthday ones for the new year and my craft room is a total disaster!

Karen, I need you to share some of your motivation to work on Christmas Cards. I do not have it it me and I know I need to get on those. I use AmazingMail.com so I can digiscrap my card design, upload it to one of their templates, and upload my list of addresses... they do the rest! The girl child even sent me a photo to include of her and her boyfriend for the card. So I have everything I need to get it done... except the motivation! LOL!!!

Oh, and just because I like to share... I have free HelloFresh boxes to give away again. If anyone is interested, please PM me with whatever email address you want me to share with the meal delivery service, and they will email you how to claim the box. I'm also a HUGE fan of Bombas Socks (who knew I would ever have a favorite sock brand???) But I love them as they keep me from getting blisters when I do all my walking... and they're cute! I have a code for 25% of a first order: https://refer.bombas.com/x/TKVg4x

I just ordered myself and my daughter a pair of the socks that are themed from the new movie, Wicked! She's going to be so excited! :)

Other than that... my only exciting news is that I got a new dentist yesterday. All I needed was my six-month check up and cleaning. And it took more than an hour for them to do basic services. With my previous dentist (who just retired), I would be in and out in 30-35 minutes. I have good teeth and take care of them... so there is no reason it should have taken that long. To top it off, the office was soooo cold that I was literally shivering for that entire time. I brought sweet hubby with me, too. He hadn't been to the dentist in a LONG time and now has to get a root canal and some cavities filled. Poor guy. He came at the same time and it took them almost TWO HOURS with him. Of course, we came together, so I was stuck in the waiting room, shivering cold, listening to the receptionist hack up a lung (she was wearing a mask, but it did not sound like she should be at work). I think that first visit to this dentist may have been our last.

I also learned that when I checked in, they asked for my photo ID... sure... they wanted to make sure I was me. They took my drivers license and ran it through a machine... the dentist office did a CREDIT CHECK on me!!! I was infuriated that they would do that without asking or informing me. I talked to a friend who used to work in a dentist office, and she said that's common practice. But I think it's shady as all get out. Thankfully, I have excellent credit, but that's not the point. I guess next time I go somewhere, I will show them my passport, instead! Ridiculous.

Okay... apparently, I needed to vent about that appointment. Thank you all for listening. I'm going to take some deep breaths and get focused on my next work project. Ha. Have a great day, everyone!

Shana, my only motivation was having a friend say she has never done homemade cards so I invited her over to show her the ropes. My cards are all hand made, no digi ones. I usually go to Pinterest for most of my inspiration, so many ideas but just have to see what paper products I have and can actually make. They are more on the simpler side but we had a lot of fun doing them together. I also made 5 "doll cards" for my senior group, we do shoeboxes for women in shelters at Christams. Hope to get a page done on that soon.

Yikes to the dentist doing a credit check!! I can't believe that would be common practice. I have dental insurance so that is the only thing they check every year. I have a fabulous dentist now, compared to the butcher from my childhood, I was always terrified of dentists. I checked out how much it would cost for braces, no money for those in my childhood and it has always been something I wanted to do to straighten a couple teeth. However, it was more than $10,000...so I decided to use that money travel instead! Good luck with finding a new dentist.

Thank you, Karen. If possible, please share your doll cards! I love your work! :)

Last night, Randy took me to the advance screening of the movie "Wicked." I think this should be required viewing for everyone in Kansas! LOL!!! I'm a huge fan of the musical and have seen it several times over the years. The movie did the musical justice and it was pure delight!

So here's some random trivia of the day... the new Wicked movie is based off the book "Wicked" by Gregory Maguire. He based his book off the "Wizard of Oz" movie. That movie was based off of Frank L Baum's book of the same name. So we watched a movie based off a musical based off a book based off a movie based off a book! LOL! However, please note, while the musical and new movie are filled with wonder and based on the friendship of the main characters, Maguire's book is not at all like that. It's a very, very dark (somewhat disturbing) book. It was a shock when I first read it! Eeek.

Shana, I read the book too and was shocked at it also. Thankfully the musical is not like it at all (saw it a few years ago). I'm looking forward to the movie. :)

Karen, your doll cards are WOW! Amazing story too. Brought a bit of joy to my day. Thanks for sharing that LO.

Thanks to those who took a look at my birthday video and I can't believe Karen watched the whole hour!! I didn't expect that. I just wanted folks to see that I scrapped the slides :) I did 652 or thereabouts and am still recovering.

Speaking of cards, I do digiscrap them. I send out around 150 and am always behind on projects. I used to hand-make them, but no more. I did 100 for the Daughters of the British Empire, including the State Board photograph with our signatures. I created a lovely envelope and merged it with the addresses in a pretty, but clear, font. I am so pleased with them and they dazzled the state board. They went out Wednesday and many received them today (Friday!) I am quite impressed with how quickly they arrived.

I have to do mine now. I am one step behind on everything and living on the edge! I was tempted to let them go this year, but I just couldn't. I spoke to a friend who cut her Christmas card list from 2000 to 700. My jaw dropped. I can't imagine sending out that many. The postage would put a dent in my budget!

Karen, I love your doll cards. They are exquisite.

Shana, I have been dentist-hopping for a few years. I had the BEST dentist, but he stopped taking Medicare, so I couldn't really go anymore. I keep trying new dentists, but they always try to upsell me on stuff. Oh - you have to have a deep cleaning, or whatever. My husband always falls for it, but I am so aggravated with them all. My own dentist said I take good care of my teeth and I don't need any of that.

I read the "Wicked" book after I had seen the stage play and felt the same way. I didn't like it at all. I am glad they uplifted it for the screen. I am looking forward to seeing the movie!!

*** begin whine ***

I am currently babysitting my grandchildren.

Bruce was kind enough to share his horrible cold and cough with me. He is fine today, I have a dreadful sore throat and I can't stop coughing.

*** end whine ***

Lynnie, sorry Bruce shared his cold with you, hope you both feel better soon.

I love your calendar, I used to do one for my Mom every year and had all the special dates marked in with their photo. It was a godsend for her memory and she could keep track better.

Crafting with my Cricut today...so far, I made some Harry Potter bookmarks for the grandson.

Have a wonderful Sunday!

Lynnie, that is exactly the same cold I have. It started with a sore throat on Thursday, turned into massive congestion, and today added coughing. My oldest and his family are coming on Tuesday or Wednesday. I really hope this resolves by then! Yours too!

I have been busy reading, and not for fun. This class is brutal- so much reading and I have to write a paper this week. This is in addition to the deep cleaning I should be doing and the baking I need to do later (Wednesday?). Oh and let's throw a severe cold on top. My bells are not jingling! But I am grateful family is coming and that I don't have strep like I thought. :)

Happy Monday. We just had our standing department head and staff meetings cancelled this morning, so that's three hours of my life I get back and don't have to sit in meetings! YAY!!!

Randy and I drove down to Wichita on Saturday to run some errands and to go to the "Wild Lights" event at the local zoo. The weather was very nice and it was so much fun walking around seeing all the neat light displays! Hopefully, I'll have a page on that soon. I spent all day yesterday working on our vacation album. We were gone three weeks... I'm working on the pages in chronological order... I just finished day TWO and already have 48 layouts. Um.... I'm going to need a bigger book.

Shana, WOW, I thought my Europe book was huge with 84 pages. I would love to see it when it is completed.

Lynnie, Yah for your nomination on Bakers' Best. Off to vote!

We finally have some colder weather and our first snow dump that will stay. It isn't too chilly out but it took me over an hour to clear the front, back and driveway. We have enough now!

I went for our group hike yesterday and stepped into a small hole on the trail and kind of tweaked my knee. I went to the Dr's today and he says that I have a large cyst at the back of my knee. I need to alternate heat and ice and hopefully it will heal quickly. Sucks to get old!!

It has been quiet around here, I guess for US thanksgiving or is everyone getting ready for Christmas? I made a few cards to send out this year and our Postal is on strike so I may not be able to mail them. I did see on the news that the Santa letters they usually receive are going straight to the picket line for the strikers to send to Santa...I thought that was very caring for the kids.

Whining totally allowed. Hope you feel better.

I feel like I'm a turkey running around with no head. Just finished a crap load of mandatory OT (I hate working OT) and trying to get things ready for Thanksgiving. I'm hosting. I need more time about right now. LOL.

Lynnie, congrats on your Baker’s Best nomination. Why doesn’t it surprise me that you would vote for another layout? LOL!

Karen, oh my… this album is getting out of control. But yes, I will post a link to the first volume, once it’s complete. I’m planning to spend a lot of time digi scrapping over the holiday weekend. I hope your knee gets to feeling better soon!

Esther, sorry to hear that you have mandatory OT… I can see how having to work extra hours this time of the year can be stressful. Hope you get to relax over the long weekend.

Does anyone have any fun Thanksgiving plans (for those who celebrate)?

My side of the family are all on a cruise in the Caribbean. My sister-in-law’s parents gifted tickets to my SIL and brother’s entire family of 9, my SIL’s brother and his family of 3, and themselves. Then my dad and wife booked the same cruise. Then one of my SIL’s cousins and her two daughters booked their own tickets. So yeah… there’s a large group on that ship. For a couple of my nephews, it’s their first ever cruise and they’ve been texting me when they have service and it sounds like they are having a blast!

We met with Randy’s side of the family last weekend, as several of them headed to visit other cousins in another state. Our daughter and her BF are having Thanksgiving dinner with his father, so that leave Randy and I with NO PLANS!!! YAY!!!

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. I hosted and spent most of the day in my feet yesterday. Today is a chill day for me. lol. I’m even happier that my husband suggested putting up Christmas decor before Thanksgiving, because at least that is done too!!! lol.

Hey everyone! :)

I'm enjoying the time with my family, especially the grandkids. Lena is 4 and earlier we made a zombie army with her dad's old toys. Fun, but hard on my body, LOL! They leave for home tonight, but we will see them again in 3 weeks as we're going out to Ohio for Christmas.

I'm glad it finally got cold here, and it's supposed to snow tomorrow. Yay! Just an inch or so, but that will give me something to look at while I'm writing the paper that's due Sunday. Ugh.

I hope everyone has a great weekend! :)

We had a lovely Thanksgiving. Son Steven and family, Karen, and friend Lois, friends and neighbours Michael and Michelle were there.

The food was cooked on time and all hot when served - you can't ask for more!!

Michael, however, lost consciousness at the table. Apparently, his blood pressure dropped way too low. We couldn't revive him, so called the paramedics who hauled him off to the hospital. His wife couldn't answer any questions about his health, she has dementia, so I took a paramedic to Michael's place to get his medications. A little drama!! Michael was released late that night and caught a taxi home. We would have picked him up. He is in his 80s, high 80s I think. He was so apologetic for 'ruining our Thanksgiving!" I said he did not ruin it at all, we needed some excitement!

You should have seen us clearing off the table so make it easy for the paramedics!!

WHen he got home, Michael said we should have taken pictures haha!

On a different note - I got LOTW :) I am so excited...

Ane, Glad you got to spend quality time with the grandies. Christmas is just a hop and skip away until you get to cuddle and spoil them. :)

Lynnie, that must have been terrifying for you all! So sorry for Michael and glad that he is better now.

Congrats on LOTW, your layout is very deserving!

Well the snow and cold has finally caught up to us...it is not as bad as some years but I already want less of it!

I have been working on some Christmas projects with my Cricut machine, so much fun to put them together. Stay tuned for a layout! With it being December 1st now, the countdown begins until my younger son comes home for a week (just before Christmas as he has to work during the holidays)...I can't wait!

Happy December everyone!
