They are fixing something else on my eye as well. We will see after it is complete. I am looking forward to being able to see again!

Just perusing and trying to catch up again. I'm having to provide back up coverage for one of my colleagues at work so things have been a little hectic.

Plus this last week I was sick. I haven't been this sick in 8-10 years so I guess I was due for it. Finally feeling better. Hoping to get some scrapping done. I'm behind for the month. LOL.

Hope everyone is doing well.

Caught up with everyone's news...Carla, Hope your card making day was fun and productive! Lynnie, best of luck with your eye surgery. Esther, WOW, you are one lucky gal that you haven't gotten sick in so many years. I hope you are on the mend now.

Busy days here! I have been cycling while I can as the colder weather will come faster than I want it to. Today's LAST ride of the season with the group was cancelled due to thunderstorms. :(

I made 2 cards for our ride leaders for our windup lunch on Thursday, itwas fun to finally use my Cricut again. Hoping to start my Christmas cards soon.

I guess today will be a cleaning day, I still have lots of sorting of my Mom's things to do as well. Hoping to get everything cleaned out before winter. And...maybe some scrapping!

Have a great day everyone!

Hi y'all! I can't believe September is flying by!

Tomorrow we're going to my eldest son's house (and also play with grandkids). It's his birthday, and also he and my husband are running a marathon together on Saturday. We'll be there until Monday. Thank goodness school is portable! Also, I'm glad I only have to cheer, LOL! :)

I was just thinking about Christmas cards and getting ready for Christmas. I have calendars to do, and Christmas cards! Eek!

I know, it's crazy how fast time flies. Hope you have fun at your son's house and playing with the grands. My son's birthday is on Saturday.

Greetings, all! We are back safely from our vacation and it was a hoot! I'm now trying to adjust back to our local time zone, but I feel a nap may be in order later today (whatever today is). I have loads of photos to scrap, so I can't wait to share those pages with you as I get them made.

Hope everyone is doing well! :)

Welcome back Shana! Looking forward to seeing the upcoming pages. We leave on Tues so getting last minute packing and errands done. Fingers crossed for good weather along the eastern coast. They have had a flood storm in the Boston MA area and my friend's cape cod boat ride was cancelled. She is enjoying exploring the city though. I can't wait to get there in a few weeks at the end of our cruise.

I too look forward to scrapping my photos when we return. I hope I'll be getting some fall color shots.

Hey everyone! I'm having a great long weekend with my family this weekend. The grandkids are just as cute as ever and it's a relief that the marathon is over. I'm not sure my son will do it again but hubby definitely will.

Shana, I'm glad to see you back! Can't wait to see those scrapbook pages.

Rae, I hope everything goes well for your cruise and that the weather and leaves cooperate for you.

We really need to try cruising one of these years! First we need our passports renewed, lol. :)

Hi all…
around here, we are doing ok. Hubby doing the workouts at the Y. It’s coming ….

fall baseball is back in full swing ( pardon the pun)…
and the little one - the dancer, will be doing her first solo this year. Too say she is excited
it’s l8e to the moon and back. I scrapped her “ excitement “.
Next - if anyone has kit ideas that might work with her song : “ If my friends could see me now”. I appreciate it.
I do have several ballet, but not sure for this. Plus the store is huge and I get overwhelmed.

hurray for fall. Still warm here.

Michelle, do you have Connie's Dance the Night Away? This is the kit, but obviously she has an entire collection. I like it because it has a lot of glitter and it's a more "DANCE" oriented and not "ballet". I think you might like it. Good luck!

Just checking in... hope everyone is doing well.
I've been keeping myself busy and trying to stay healthy but that isn't happening. I got Shingles on the upper left part of my back in January after having severe back pain the last two weeks in December. Now I have Postherpetic Neuralgia which is a debilitatingly painful disease and only 10% of people who get Shingles have this lingering pain that comes and goes. I've had two flares (thank goodness without the rash) one in April and one August into the beginning of September. Lost 8 days of work over 3 weeks due to excruciating pain to the point where I can't even move my arms. Been to doctor, orthorpedist (sp), Urgent Care and even ER. Tried everything. Little helps when I'm in that much pain. Been doing a little better but the pain lingers.

Now, my husband thinks he has Shingles. He goes to the doctor tomorrow. Hope, if it is, that it is mild.

On a good note, we went on a cruise first week in Sept. I was in pain two of those days but I had a medicine cabinet with me with all my meds. It got me through.

Hope everyone is well. Sorry for the vent.

*waves to everyone* Hi y'all!

I'm back from my trip. Hubby and son survived the marathon and DIL made her goal in the half marathon. I got lots of good, quality time with the grandkidlets and didn't really want to leave them. But we will see them again at Thanksgiving and Christmas, one way or another.

Lily Ann, ow! I'm glad you had a nice cruise despite being in pain. My youngest brother had chicken pox before the age of 1 so he didn't get immunity. Shingles got him young, before he was 20, I think. It settled in his spine and he has been in constant pain since. Hubby had shingles a few years ago. I'll go in for my 2nd shingles shot by the end of October, I think. Not really looking forward to it, but it's better than a colonoscopy!

Oh Lily Ann- how I feel for you and hubby with Shingles! Been there...no fun for sure. I hope the pain subside soon.

Ane- yay for the successful runs for those who run. I like the grandkiddo idea best too.

The weather is supposed to get messy around here again. I sure hope the places that flooded a lot during the last one, are not impacted the same.

Now I am stuck. I'm supposed to write a short essay about a topic I've never written on before and of a type I've never written before. Hubby tells me I'm overthinking it, and I am. That doesn't prevent me from stressing out about it. It's due Sunday night, and I've been putting it off long enough. Positive thoughts are appreciated!

Lynnie, hoping everything went well on your eye surgery!

Esther,
sorry to hear you were sick, hope all is well now.

Carla,
so nice that you have all your Xmas cards done, I hope to do that when I return from vacation.

Lily Ann
, so sorry to hear that you and hubby got shingles. I got my shot last year and pray that I never get it as my Grandmother, Mom and Brother have all had it. I hope your pain subsides quickly.

Michi, I hope things are well in your neck of the woods. The reports on the news look devastating!

Ane, I hope your essay writing goes well.

Things have been good here but summer is winding down too fast. I reached my goals this year with cycling with a 31.67 k ride the other day with a cycling friend. and another milestone in getting my childhood friend out cycling this year (it only took me 4 summers of nagging to get her to come and she is hooked. LOL).

I went shopping today for a few new clothes as I have lost a few pounds since retirement and I actually bought small pants and a X small blouse. WOW, I am very impressed with myself with my weight loss and feeling the best that I have in years.

I am getting tons of layouts done but will be leaving on my trip to Italy in less than a week so I must get organized with packing soon.

Hope everyone else is doing well!

Happy Saturday to all. Oh my Hurricane Helene was certainly 'messy' for the state of Florida, along with several other states and it appears even the up north is getting affected!
The good news: Our house is totally fine and only yard debris to clean up. Another plus- we never lost power!!! Daughter's house is fine, minimal yard waste to clean up but lost power 10 hours.
The not that good news, my brother / wife had to evacuate. They are not allowed back to the island yet. The photos we've seen are devastating from that area. [they are on my Facebook page- shared].
We personally know several that have lost everything due to storm surge and driving winds. AND our area did not receive the worst.
The distance between devastation and being unscathed is about 15-20 miles.

So today, more yard clean up, laundry, scrapbooking, crochet, TV and rest.

Michelle, I'm so glad that you and your daughter are okay! So sorry about your brother's family. The news from FL looks horrible. Prayers for everyone down there. We have so many friends there. Haven't heard from everyone yet, but that's okay. We learned in the Corps that no news is sometimes good news. Gotta wait and see. We know that power is sparse. It's just so devastating to see and in the Carolinas and Tennessee too. smh...

Ane, you'll figure it out. You can write about my victory over my 6000 row spreadsheet! haha

Good luck Karen, but don't let it spoil your vacation!

Love and Blessings!

Ladies, I did it! With a lot of help from above and from hubby. It's nice to have a live-in proofreader! Thank you for your kind words. :) I just have regular work, but after that is bibliography then abstract then whole 10-12 page paper. Boy, am I glad I'm only taking 1 class at a time!

How were everyone's weekends? Did the hurricane bother you much where you live? Yesterday we did a fun run/walk at Eren's school, went shopping, watched a few football games, and agonized over my essay. Today was simply church, football, a little more homework, and making apple pie filling. We are now done preserving for the year, woo hoo! :)

Oh so happy you are OK but devastating for those all affected. HUGS!

Ane, when I’m stuck for a writing assignment, I actually go to one of the AI tools to help me get my creative juices flowing. You can use a free site like Microsoft CoPilot and tell them you need an outline for an essay on your topic. If anything, it will give you a place to start. I have used AI to help me generate page title ideas, or to make a paragraph of text more concise. It can be a very helpful tool. So you can keep that in mind for future writing assignments. Just beware that sometimes the AI tools will make up complete gibberish. LOL!

Karen
, congrats on reaching your goals. Hope you have an amazing trip to Italy!

Michi
, so glad to hear your home survived the hurricane. We have a lot of our line crews heading to South Carolina to help with their restoration efforts.

Both Randy and I have been home sick with Covid. I'm not entirely surprised as we did spend 8+ hours on a flight filled with people hacking and coughing. Oy vey! Randy went down first, so I made sure to wear a mask at work and keep my door closed for a couple of days. And then I felt like I was getting sick. We went to the clinic to be tested and, sure enough, both of us were positive. This strain of the virus gave us congested sinuses for the first couple of days, and now we've been fighting migraine-like headaches (sensitive to light/sound, etc.). The doctor gave us some meds, but who knows if that's really helping or just keeping us entertained while nature takes its course. We've both been sleeping most of the time. I'm supposed to travel for work tomorrow and Thursday, but I don't think that's going to happen. I have soooo many fun photos from our trip that I want to work on, but my head will only allow me to be at the laptop for short time spurts before I have to give my eyes a rest. Stupid Covid... getting in the way of my scrapbooking. Bleh.

Anyway, Happy October to everyone! Do you do anything for the Halloween season? We've been watching all the Harry Potter movies while we've been recovering. But we will plan to dress up on Halloween to hand out candy to the neighbor kids. We are also going to a Halloween syphony by candelight event later this month. So we'll see how that goes! :)

Happy Tuesday and October to all.

Oh Shana- I do hope your virus experience will be short and mild.

Granddaughters solo is coming along. I think about 16 counts to go and then it is completed.

The yard waste truck picked up the debris today. Golly those men work hard.

I'm getting ready to see what the new goodies are for October in the store!
