So sorry to hear this, Carla. Yes, she is in a better place. We all cry in our own time. Just let it be for now.

Carla, this speaks to me when I think of my mum:

I can’t say I loved you. I just can’t

Because it makes it sound as if my love is past tense. Gone, finished, ended.

And that is so far from the truth.

My love is not in the past. It will never be gone.

I love you now. Still.

You didn’t take all this love away with you. It stays. It lingers.

Some days it jumps up and hits me in the face just to remind me that it is still here. Still persevering.

Some days it nudges me. Challenges me to keep going. Daring me to find the strength to get through the day.

But mostly, it just resonates inside of me with everything I do. With every step forward and every glance back.
Every close of my eyes. Every breath.

My love is not dependent on you being here.

There is nowhere far enough,
and nothing permanent enough
to stop me from loving you.

So I will not say I loved you.

Because I love you.

Still.

*****

Carla, you're getting another big hug from me. And I appreciated your comments about how you are feeling today. After watching my mother decline, when she passed it was a great feeling of relief that she was no longer suffering. The grief didn't take hold of me until a couple of days later, and then I struggled with my emotions for the next few months. They say grief is a journey, and unique to each person. Just give yourself time and be kind to yourself as you process everything.

Lynnie, thank you for the lovely poem...it speaks to me as I entered into the second year of my Mother's passing.

Carla, I am sure this will resonate with you as well, give your self time. BIG hugs!

Carla, I do understand your emotions at this time. I did feel somewhat the same when my husband passed as he was no longer in pain. Just always remember the love you had and it will work out. Sadness will come but love will always be there.

You ladies are so wonderful. Thank you so much for your kind words and thoughts and prayers and BIG (((HUGS))). I can feel them.
I'm........ good. Set up the funeral yesterday. It's not until June 26th! smh. Who knew that funerals were just as busy as weddings in June?!? (SICK humor) The national cemetery was completely BOOKED until then for afternoon burials for spouses/children. Actives can be buried just about any time of day/evening, but they limit spouses and children to certain hours. I get it. So, that's set. It went well. The boys cleaned out her apartment Monday morning and yesterday and brought the things that I wanted down with them, so my car is full. Now I have to find some hulky men to help me haul a couple things up and downstairs so Lacy can use my car this weekend. lol. Mom prepaid for the funeral so it was just making some final decisions. That was cute because every question the director had, the boys' heads just swiveled to me! HA! So, yeah, I made most of those decisions. Seems only fair since they did all the "heavy lifting". Our dear HS friend is doing the catering for her lunch and the visitation is going to be an hour ahead... all in one day and we'll be done.
I decided to take the rest of the week off just cuz I'm not feelin' it and dangit, I deserve it. (and I'm kinda mad at work right now) So, that's it. I really am still okay. I know it will hit and hit hard at some point, just not right now.
Love and Blessings to all of you amazing friends.

I am glad everything went to smoothly and so quickly, Carla. It sounds as though your mama is smoothing the way for you. Big hugs. It is when it all 'settles down' and you aren't rushing around that it hits you though. Big hugs.

Hugs Carla. I'm glad the preparations have gone smoothly. I know what you mean about being glad she is not in pain anymore, not struggling with aging life. I felt that way about my mom. I miss the relationship we had but I know the last few years she was not happy with how much her health deteriorated and her quality of life was miserable. I felt sad for my loss but not for hers. She wasn't happy at the end so now I think of her up there with her family and friends and all her pets too maybe, just being free.

Shana - yes, Friday still gives me joy, even tho I don't work anymore and it shouldn't really matter :)

Got a call from the hospital on Wednesday, they needed my doctors clearance for my upcoming stay, which worked out well as I was seeing her Thursday for my physical. Friday I got the call from the hospital I’ll be checked in on Tuesday. (Mondays is a holiday here). I’m both thrilled and terrified to be going. First admittance will be two weeks. If they see improvements in targeted areas then I’ll be there longer for more areas. Wish me well.

Sherri, Wishing you the very best news on your appointment. You will be in my thoughts and prayers!

How did everyone survive the weekend? We did our usual shopping early on Saturday then came home and did some yardwork with a couple of kids we hired. We did that for about 3 1/2 hours in 80 degree heat, woohoo! The rest of the day we just relaxed. Yesterday we just had church and I watched a bunch of anime with Eren, who is home for the summer, working.

Today I got a laptop! Now I can digiscrap on the go, which will be very helpful while I'm traveling and need to do CT work, or participate in other fun events. Like this weekend, we are going to Ohio to visit my oldest and his family. It'll be fun to see their new place and play with the grandkids. :)

OMGosh Ane, how exciting! You've never had a laptop? I can't imagine being without mine. I don't think I've had a desktop in over 20 years. (except at work and I'm even on a laptop there now) Have fun playing with your new toy!

Good luck Sherri! Much love!

Congrats on the laptop, Ane!

We survived a second weekend of graduation receptions and ceremonies, and we attended a celebration of life event for a brother of one of Randy's customers. On Sunday, we ended up having NOTHING to do and it was wonderful! I hadn't had a day of nothing for about a month. And I relished it... we did NOTHING! Ha! It was good to just be home and rest. We did watch the first four episodes of the new Bridgerton season, and I did some cooking, but that was about it. Love days like that.

Ane, nice to spend time with family, enjoy! I don't have a laptop any longer but don't miss it.

Shana, you are such a busy lady and it is nice to see you resting for awhile.

We have been busy with yard work and hubby had to take his classic car in for some work on the seals in the transmission and shocks. We usually do the classic car scene most of the summer so we hope to have it back in time. We are nearing the end of hockey season too, one Canadian team made it to the semi-finals!

I have been busy working on my Europe book since I pre-purchased the printed book and it expires in June....I am a little over 2/3rds done...yikes!

Karen, tell me more about pre-purchased printed book?

I'm spending most of my office hours this week tracking down our members and reminding them about upcoming deadlines. I'm not a huge fan of enabling people who don't read their emails, but I need the information. But oy vey... it's excruciating!

I'm having an outpatient procedure on Friday that I'm so not looking forward to. But then this weekend, Randy got us tickets for a traveling exhibit called Disney 100. So I'm looking forward to that. We also have Monday off for the holiday, so I will have an extra day to rest. I plan to spend that time memorizing the faces and names of the students who will join me on Youth Tour in a few weeks. My intern made me flash cards to help me learn the names! Love it!

Karen, tell me more about pre-purchased printed book?

Shana, I order from a company called Photobook (Canada), they also have US and other country versions. I purchased a book when it was on sale for 60% off that must be used within 3 months. The books are printed overseas but I find them good quality and I have had excellent service with them. Just look up Photobook America for more details.

Karen, checked out the photobook america. looks like some decent prices. How often do they have the pre purchased deals? The one they have now looks like there are only 3 days left to purchase it. and for anyone else that is looking I did see they have a 60% off first time order (not on prepaid though). and I see Shutterfly has unlimited pages through may 27 (memorial day sale)

Just hopping in to say hi! I have been crazy busy (even more than usual) and I am a little frazzled. It will be that way through the rest of May and beginning of June.

I hope all are well.

Sherri, love and prayers for your hospital visit. Please keep us posted, or have Alexis keep us posted.

Ane, love that you have a laptop and you will be scrapping more.

Shana, a day without doing anything! You deserve to attend an event where someone is doing the hard lifting. I am sorry it was a celebration of life, but I am glad it was wonderful.

Karen, I hope the photobook also has a digital link so we can enjoy it too :)

Debra, how nice seeing you :)

I joined the Camera Club here in my village. It has some great classes, and I love their printers! They have amazing wide-format printers, archival printers, and printers that will do 12x12 prints. They will end up costing me about $1.25 each, I think. I purchased the paper, which was less than $1 a sheet, and then they estimate the ink would be between 25 and 50c per page. They will know better when I bring in my pages to be printed. I am pretty excited. I have a few hundred pages that need to be printed.

I have strained my back. I don't know what I have done, but I am miserable. I have to babysit tomorrow and I don't know how I will be able to lift Scarlett. I am a little anxious.

Debra, Photobook has sales a few times a year, usually around the holidays. If you make an account, you can sign up for the emails.

Lynnie, I will have to look and see if the on-line link is available, I really like that idea then I can share with family and friends far away! How fun your new camera group will be, great price for 12x12 prints! Hope your back heals quickly, HUGS!

I was out for a ride today in preparation for our weekly cycling club that start in June. It was so windy but I was able to do 10K. Now on to yard work today!

Happy Thursday to all.
Carla- glad things went well for you.

Sherri- thinking of you with the next medical visit.

Karen- yay for the photo book. Oh how I need to get some finished and printed.

Things are coming along here with Bill's recovery. This evening makes 4 weeks to the day of his surgery. We have a big trip planned leaving July 4. How I pray we will be able to do it.

School is out tomorrow for the kids here.

I've been doing a lot of knitting, crocheting and just on the 24/7 as needed line. Some scrapbooking but not as much as I would like.

Happy Friday to all. I was noticing a decrease in the available space on my drive that houses most of my digital scrapbooking 'stuff'. So, I did a duplicate scan [which took awhile].

It scanned:570,778 items. There were 3,184 duplicates. That equaled 3,33 GB.
Now I know, sometimes designers will use the same flower in another kit, but golly that's a lot of duplicates! This doesn't even count what is on the other drive with digi stuff. You know...like when you move the old old items from retired and no longer existing designers.....
Oh my!

I commented this to you on your Facebook message too, but wanted to post it here, just in case anyone else does a scan and sees "duplicates".
I wonder if it is just picking up the same file name… like there could be a lot of flowers with eh same name, but that doesn’t mean they are all the same.
Even if it has the same data, that same flower could be a totally different color or have a style applied etc.
I wouldn’t just trust the scan and delete them all either.

Totally Ginger! And I don't just delete willy-nilly, but I've found that a lot are exactly the same! I've done the same thing and become incredibly frustrated. One of the first things that usually pops up on mine are alphas and it's the precise, exact same alpha. Same font, same color, same. Just a different prefix because it's with a different collection. And I'm not an "alpha-gal" so that's really frustrating for me in particular. I don't need five, red, collegiate alphas. But I also don't need five (or eleven) blue mums. I've learned how to recolor them myself. I can keep five and trash the rest.

Jumping in here to say I'm having fun with the grandkids (they wore us out yesterday!) and enjoying time with my son and his wife too (parent of the grandkids-can't leave them out). I just wanted to check in and see how everyone's doing this weekend so far. :)
