This is exactly what most of my students said for "good things" to kick off every Friday for the entire school year. I wonder if they would say the same thing today (since we are out for Summer). :D

IT'S FRIDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Read everyone's posts and all caught up, hugs to those who need it.

Lynnie, Thanks for the update on Sherri and her mailing address. I will definitely send her something so she knows how much she is missed and loved!

My cycling group has had a setback with all the rain so I haven't ridden with my group yet, I am in group 1. But they have a nice contest this week for a flower basket from some of our sponsors. You get one entry for every day you ride (even if it by yourself) and you have to take a picture of a flower and post by the deadline. I have 5 entries so far and it ends tomorrow. Yesterday, I was out riding by myself and I came upon the second cycle group and was able to ride with them...so many nice ladies to chat with as we ride. I have so much more energy since I started riding again, have to keep it up!

This week, one of the 55+ places came up for sale that we have been waiting for, it had recently been redone and looks fabulous but the yard is realllllly small, almost no garden space and just a 6x10 deck. And the asking price is totally out of our price range as we do NOT want to have a mortgage again...so I guess we are staying put for now. I would prefer to spend my time and money travelling and doing things rather than have a over-priced condo with no yard. Hubby feels the same as he would have to put his classic car in storage.

Still witling away at my book, hoping I can share when it is done and ordered.

Nice to see a new face here, hi Susan!

Have a great weekend everyone!

Karen - hope the right place comes up eventually. Sounds like a good idea to wait longer and hope for something more suitable.

We have contractors working on the landscaping and deck expansion now. Hopefully they will be finished by the end of the month. I can't wait to have back stairs leading down to a lower deck and walkway out the side of the yard. We didn't think to ask for a roof covering the deck in the original plan so not sure when they will be able to get that done, fingers crossed it can happen this summer. We need protection from the sun here, we have a southern exposure on the back deck and it gets very sunny and hot. Once a roof is on then we can hang pull down blinds.

We have been re-watching The House Of The Dragon so the storyline will be fresh in our minds for the new season which starts next Sunday.

I've been busy playing mahjong, hand and foot canasta and mexican train dominos with new friends here in our little town, at least 3 or more times a week so my scrapping time has lessened but I'm ok with that, the variety of activities has been fun. My spring birding session finishes up this month. Now I know where most of the good birding parks are and can explore on my own. I am a member now of another group, Nature Calgary, they are an active group with many outings each month so can pick and choose what interests me. I live very close to a popular lake for birding and right now I've been going at least once a week. I can't wait for the grebes to have their babies. I have yet to get a photo of baby grebes on the back of the adult, fingers crossed this will be my year for this.

Hope everyone is well. I need to get off the computer, it has been nice to pop in and say hi.

Happy Monday, all. This is the week that my annual Youth Tour kicks off, so I will be too busy counting teens to have time to log on until around June 20.

Yesterday, Randy and I took his dad and step-mother to a really fun play. Kansas City has a wonderful dinner theater, and they often bring in stars from TV shows from "back in the day." Last night's play was a comedy called Squabbles, and the star was Donny Most... he played Ralph in the TV show Happy Days, if anyone here remembers that show. It was a lot of fun and my in-laws giggled throughout the play.

LOL Carla! I agree... Lynnie is an awesome resource!

Wish me luck... I leave in about 15 min to go pick up our Hawaii delegation for Youth Tour. The Kansas kids arrive tomorrow. I'll be back in a week and my plans are to slleeeeeepppp!!!

It's been a tough week. Last Saturday we had to rush my mom to the ER which earned her a 3 day stay in the hospital with pneumonia. She's back home with us but really weak and it will take her quite a while to get over the pneumonia with her other health issues. Now I'm starting to feel under the weather with sinus junk and a sore throat.

On the positive side of life, Monday was my 29th wedding anniversary and we've added several new houseplants to what we are lovingly calling my "choir room oasis" that is living at home until we return to school at the beginning of August. My oldest daughter is driving in today from college with her boyfriend for a quick visit. She will be moving home at the end of July to finish up one online class before student teaching in the area during the Spring semester. Her boyfriend is moving to Fayetteville, Arkansas to go to grad school.

Happy Thursday!

Thanks Lynnie, I do have a few of these kits already as I currently CT for Magical Scraps Galore. I actually used the Best of England by MSG, I just don't want the whole book with the same kit. I do love my page I posted yesterday. Thanks for listing some new ones, I will have a look at them.

Susan, So sorry to hear about your Mom, hopefully her health is improving.

On a positive note, happy anniversary!

I'll echo Karen's sentiments, Susan. So sorry about your mom, but Happy Anniversary.
Hope she's on the mend soon and you enjoyed your special day anyway.

Sorry about your mom!! Hope you and her feel better.

Congrats on your wedding anniversary.

Trying to catch up on this thread. All my time zone changes has made that fun. We leave Japan tomorrow and head back to HI for another week or so before heading back home.

My dog has severe separation anxiety. Being in my house with family hasn't helped and neither has the trazodone or the gabapentin the the vet prescribed. I get to go back home and do house repairs. LOL My husband is not happy. LOL.

Your travels sound like you will return with awesome memories, Esther. Though I hear you about the house repairs and your dog's separation anxiety. Big hugs on that front!

My mom is slowly on the mend. With her being a diabetic, some other health issues, and being 79, her body takes a long time to recover from most things. Unfortunately, I picked up some sort of crud from being at the hospital with her and I've been out for the count since Thursday afternoon. I'm feeling marginally better today, but nowhere near 100%. I guess it'll be another day spent at home.

Hi everyone, happy Sunday! :)

I've had an atypical weekend. Hubby was involved in a service project yesterday, so we went shopping Friday night. So I chilled pretty much all day Saturday. When it cooled off a bit (it's been in the 90's lately) we went outside and tended to our poor tomato plants. Today I did not sleep well, so I skipped part of church and came home to nap but ended up not sleeping. Sigh. So now I am pumped up on caffeine and enjoying Father's Day with hubby. He got his present earlier, a set of Made In cookware. I got him a Kiss the Cook apron to go with it, lol.

I'm glad to see everyone going about their usual. Sherri, if you're reading this, know I'm thinking about you. :)

Happy Father's Day to All who's Father's are still with us, or Hubby's as Father's or Son's /SIL's as Fathers.

Totally agree- Lynnie it the best at keeping things organized and finding answers for us. I'm most grateful.
Susan- Yikes on you mom and prayers...everything is coming along.
Sherri- I think of you daily, ...I've had such an education about Bill's ordeal with the heart.

What a past week this has been!
Two Dental appointments- found out a cracked tooth and another...old filling so due to my dental anxiety...I will be doing 2 crowns at once. [Oh my starts].
A day with the g'kiddo's
Cardiologist- thankfully all is good there but she want the LDL even lower.. [Me- seriously...]
and a massage.

Managed to complete what Granddaughter and I are calling Gotta Dance- Book 1. Shutterfly was having a sale that ends today and I made it! After submitting it, hubby discovered a mistake on a page- ugh... I UL the wrong jpg that had 'text text...' on it instead of THE text and added 'stuff' . Well, if they cannot adjust as I've paid, I will deal the old fashioned way! And I forgot 2 pages....

to explain... Sarah wanted her dance books since David has now had 2 printed for Baseball [behind there too]. She named it. We decided book 1 would include from her start of dance ...to June 2023 [5 recitals] because I felt a good end...as June 2023 she tried out for the competition company and made it. Book 2 will be from June 2023...to whenever ...[probably 2 years or so] of photos to print.

IF interested, I think...this is the link
click the book.

Michi - Beautiful job on the photobook for Sarah. Truly! Sorry about the two crown ordeal. That sounds like something that would happen to me. I have a fear of the dentist and there's no reason for it but it's there. It's the last appointment that I make for myself because I dislike it so much. Glad you got some good news from your cardiologist!

My mom is doing better, sounding so much more like herself which is a huge relief. It's just going to take time for her to recover from the pneumonia. She has a visit from the home health nurse scheduled for this afternoon and we'll see what they say about how she's doing.

I hope everyone is having a magnificent Monday!

Michi, your dance book is awesome, loving all the costumes and so colorful. What a treasure for your granddaughter.
Wishing the best for your cardio appt!

Susan, glad to hear your Mom is doing better.

I was out for my morning ride today and what a beautiful summer day....finally after several days of rain. Hoping it sticks around.

Have a great week everyone!

Happy Monday.

Thank you Susan and Karen for viewing her book. Some of the pictures from her first year in company have been scrapped so already placed in a folder for Gotta Dance-Book 2.

Yes, Susan, I'm right there with you on the dentist. .... Good your mom is home. I hope Home Health helps.

Karen- how nice for good weather and a ride. We are going to Toronto in July- then on a boat through the Great Lakes.

Today- Hubby started Cario- Rehab at the hospital. AND he admitted that his legs were weak and what the plan was toward getting stronger. Trust me- I earned extra wife credits for not saying: I TOLD YOU SO, when I was encouraging him to move more and offered to assist with some exercises.
It's ok, at least he is there and trying.
Off to scrap. Looks like a busy week.

Mich, I have never been to Toronto...LOL. I have been on the 401 going around it when we did the east coast so hope you enjoy yourself! Glad your hubby is getting rehab and hope he is more mobile soon.

I don't even know where to start to catch up with everyone! It has been a wild few weeks :)

The beginning of June was the Daughters of the British Empire June Faire. It is a lot of work getting things ready to sell, transporting them, setting up, working the day, and then taking everything down. I love doing it, but it is hard work.

The second weekend in June was the Daughters of the British Empire State Board meeting at my house. I had to clean from top to bottom, cook breakfast and lunch, and have all the paperwork ready. We also took our Christmas photo, so I set up the backdrop and lighting for that. It was quite traumatic for me. I have a small home and it is not very fancy. Some of these ladies have gorgeous homes. I had a presentation on Social Media for the group. It was a lot of work, but well worth it.

That week I also had a local DBE board Meeting and a meeting of all the Regents in our state. I was in charge of both of those, so there was prep work.

In the middle of all of this, I was still babysitting four days a week and I lost track of everything else :)

Michi - your photobook is gorgeous. My daughter was a dancer and I can relate to the beautiful book. It really spoke to me.

Susan - I am so sorry to hear about your mother. I am glad she is feeling better.

Sherri - You are still going through so much, I wish we could all help a little more.

Happy Wednesday everyone!

Michi, best wishes for your hubby getting stronger! I'm sure he knew you were right all along. :)

Susan (my mom's name is Susan!), I'm glad your mom is feeling better. What a scary event for you!

Lynnie, I am beginning to think you are Superwoman. Can you lend me some of your energy?

I have been mentally preparing for our trip to Ohio this weekend. We're going to an air show out there with the fam. It's going to be hot, but fun. I can't wait to see the grandkids' faces when the see/hear the planes screaming overhead. I'm also looking forward to more snuggles and finishing my book for book club next week.

I am also thinking about going back to school for an MA in humanities. All online. Part of me wonders if I'm crazy and how I will fit the work in with my existing commitments. I've been thinking about it for a few years now, but my DIL just got accepted into a grad program, and a lot of members of my extended family have grad degrees. I guess I'm feeling a little left out but also kind of unfulfilled. Am I crazy?

Mich, Best wishes for your hubby, he will get there.

Lynnie, WOW, I am not sure how you managed that week with babysitting. Never worry or feel bad about your home, it is yours and yours alone and I am sure they all love you to bits at your British Heritage club!!

Ane, Absolutely NOT...if it is a dream of yours...go for it girl!

Sherri, thinking of you!

Happy Friday to all.
I'm with Karen as I don't know how Lynnie gets so much done!

Ane- Go for it! I've known of many that return for more degrees later on.

Hubby completed a wonderful week 1 of CardioPulmonary Rehab. Even went to the Y on his own on Tuesday and Thursday. I went as well on Thursday.
In addition to scrapping, I am sorting out knitting and crochet patterns for the next items. For our trip, I am most definitely taking something 'easy' and not much thinking to it. LOL.
