Hi All,

I have not been on my computer much lately, except for Christmas essentials. I managed to get all my Christmas cards out. They were very late going out, but by some miracle they arrived before Christmas, even the international ones. I was really pleased. I also created my annual family calendars really late, but by some miracle, they arrived on time and were wrapped up under the tree. I hot pressed t-shirts, made photobooks, individual custom calendars and half a dozen other things and was able to take Christmas Eve off and relax. I also had my shopping done pretty early. It all made me really happy.

Christmas was lovely. Daughter Karen did not come over, she was sick and spent Christmas alone, she just did not want to run the risk of passing it along. She was much better the next day and came over. Son Steven, wife Nessa and grandson Bruce came over and we had a lovely meal and everyone was thrilled with presents. Then Vanessa and I decorated cookies. She brought the cookies, we made royal icing and she showed me how she decorates. SHe is quite the artist. I will do a page of her cookies one of these days. I had decorated cookies several days earlier for the neighbours. There are seven in our building and two at the foot of the stairs that we know pretty well. They all raved over them, but they were nothing like Nessa's. They will be dazzled next year haha. Along with the family, we had neighbours join us for Christmas. They are all super-careful about COVID, and everyone is triple jabbed, so we felt pretty safe.

I scrapped today for the first time in forever. (I scrap my calendars and little 5x7 photo album gifts, but it is not the same!). I will post some in the next day or two.

I have a big party coming up in a week or so. so I have that on the horizon. It never stops haha.

Hope all is well with everyone.

Lynnie

Hi Lynnie....I'm back after a hiatus and now I see that you are too! Sounds like you were busy with Xmas gift making and entertaining.

I'm looking forward to one more day of work and then off for 3 days. Tomorrow we'll take the dogs out for some fun at the dog park in the snow before it starts to melt as we are getting rain soon. I have enjoyed all the snow this past week.

I was thinking about my "one little word" for 2022 and I have decided on "purpose". Do any of you choosing OLW for 2022?

I'm getting to bed now, might pop in tomorrow if I have time but maybe not b/c its a work day and then I'll be hanging out with hubs after the doggy play time at the park. We'll have a quiet NYE at home, binging some shows.

If I don't make it back in here beforehand...happy new years, everyone.

Happy New Year's Eve, all!

We are preparing for a big winter storm that should be here tonight. So I've bought ingredients to make slow-cooker chili tomorrow and baked apples with a cheese tray for our celebration dinner tonight. Hubby has been working hard on end-of-year paperwork for his job, and so he's been using MY laptop! Ack! LOL... please note, he has three laptops of his own, but he never keeps them charged or does the updates to software, so my computer is more convenient for him. I do not share well. LOL. When he got to a stopping point, he let me know I could take the lap top to do my "Etch a Sketch".... he meant to say digital scrapbooking. I had a good chuckle over his terminology for this hobby.

This year has had many challenges and ups and downs for me but I am grateful for all my loved ones to get me through it all. Today I am doing a sushi lunch with Mom as she is still shut-in then a night of games with hubby and maybe a glass or two of bubbly but I doubt I will make it to midnight, LOL!

Wishing you all a very Happy New Year!

Just to touch base at the close of the year. My husband is doing much better after taking away the Parkinson medication and now instead of4 different medications he is only on one for low blood pressure. We have wonderful children and life is doing okay right now. I keep busy most of the time. I hope everyone's wishes here come true and you can deal with all the problems that come your way.

Happy new year everyone. Little fireworks show in our neighborhood, I watched through the window. Still bitterly cold here.

We were up until midnight here. WOOHOO! Our fireworks were at 10pm at the local ski area. They do it early for the family celebration but it was fun to watch from the windows. Of course, Harley was NOT happy! He's not afraid. He thinks he can stop them with his super-woofman-barking-strength! Well, he is my wonderdog, so...

I am so sorry for your loss. I will be keeping you in my prayers. Sending you a big "cyber hug". -Joy
Christmas was uneventful. My partner decided I didn't need anything for Christmas, since this year wasn't really Christmas, anyway. He insists that this is just practical, and that if I ever need anything, he'd get it for me if I asked. It felt really rude, and inconsiderate to me, not because I need him to buy things, but because I can't see why picking out 'a small thoughtful thing' is so hard. Especially considering all the time, effort, and money I put into his gift.

December 27th I lost my grandmother to cancer. I cry more than I don't cry. I'm irritable and trying to help my family from across the planet. I volunteered to put together the media slides for her visitation. It's 80 pages long with over 120 photos, I am not sure if that's what they were expecting, but that's what they got. I would still like to scrap some of the pages when I am feeling more up to it, but right now, I am not.

I work this weekend, and as much as I want to have motivation for something which would distract me, I am finding it utterly impossible.

Good morning everyone. I'm back to work today (desk work at home) for a few hours but am glad its not a full day (that starts tomorrow) as I'm not in a working mode. I don't think I will be this year at all, knowing that I'm going to retire at some point throughout the year. I keep telling myself...it's only for awhile.

I had strained my back (I have arthritis) so it's been a quiet wkend as I try to rest and with minimal walking with my back brace. But I feel a bit better each day so that's good. Next week I'll start back on some light exercises with hand weights and I'm going to work on losing the COVID weight I gained over the last year or so. That is not good for my back so it's time to get back on track.

We binged "Sweet Tooth" on Netflix and then caught up on L&O SVU and The Good Doctor. We'll binge a few more tonight, maybe NCIS LA.

I'm getting another coffee and getting out of my chair for a bit. Hope you all have a great day.

Happy Monday, all! My office was closed today, but I went in for a few hours just to get through all of the emails that piled in during my time off for the holidays! Uff dah! I'm glad I was able to get a jump start before the office reopens tomorrow... it's amazing how much I can get done when my coworkers aren't around! HA!!!

After time at the office, the hubster came to town and we ran some errands and grabbed lunch. Then I went to the gym since it's too snowy to walk our neighborhood. I was afraid that the gym would be packed. Usually, this time of the year is when everyone has made their New Year's resolutions... I call it "tourist season." Ha. Typically, tourist season is completely over by mid-Februrary and the gym is back to normal. Honestly, all I ever do is walk on the elipitcal machines and watch HGTV. Ha.

The sun is shining, and I'm hoping it will help melt all of the ice on the roads. Hope you all have a great week!
