I don't write much here but read it all the time. I have felt sorrow for each of you and your problems and rejoice in your accomplishments.
We are on a roller coaster ride here with good days and bad days. We ended up in the ER on Tuesday night with my husband have a low low blood pressure and being dehydrated. We came home and went to the neurologist yesterday. He changed my husband's diagnosis Parkinson's to MSA, Multiple System Atrophy. It is a rare disease and no know cure. We are going into the clinic today to see about getting the new meds. The neurologist said even though this is a neurology disease he does not deal with it because of blood pressure and needs either his primary care or a cardiologist to take care of the issue. Even thought life right now has it's ups and downs we have been blessed with good health until this last year. As I hear each of your stories I am amazed at how well you are dealing with them. I pray for each of you.

The new challenges sound awesome as does spicy motivation. Please please remind me if I forget

carla thank you for posting here. It was a mad scramble when we got the call that night and checkin was 6 am three hours away.

alexis is in lots of pain, is cranky (don’t blame her at all), and just overall misery.

the house coming together must really be fulfilling.

Lynnie I don’t know how you do it all.

in the midst of this crazy week Canada held a federal election and not to much changed. Liberals under trudeau still have a minority. Huge waste of resources and money

i had a remote transmission done on my internal Defibrilator (ICD) it’s battery is currently 68% which is a relief as it’s on recall for premature battery depletion.

Katherine, So sorry to hear of your husband, praying for a better outcome.

Sherri, so happy that Alexis was able to get the surgery but yes bad timing. But it is over and now the healing begins. Hoping she is feeling more like herself soon, such a resilient young lady! I agree on the election too, but it is, what it is!

I am on holidays for two weeks and have loads of projects to do in the house and yard. On Saturday, I am going on a day retreat at my DIL's for a fun day cardmaking with my tribe. Will be happy to see us all together again and letting the creative juices flowing. We are doing a card exchange too, so that should be fun day! On Sunday, I have my grand-daughter and we are going to enjoy the great outdoors with a bike ride at the park and a lovely picnic lunch. I will have to see how much time I will have to play here but I am working on another travel book and it features The Travelers Notebooks by Miss Fish, adore these templates and happy to see she added a collection of book rings.

Hoping everyone is well and being creative!

Oh my Karen, that sounds very scary. Sending prayers

Sherri, I feel so bad for Alexis. I hate toothache pain and this has got to be the worst. Keeping her in my heart and prayers too.

Aren't those rings the coolest Karen? A lot of people were asking for them. Can't wait to see your layouts. Wish we were traveling, but we're......... HOME.

Anne-Marie, your new challenge sounds fun! I'll probably need reminders too. :)

Katherine, I'll be praying for you and your husband.

Sherri, I'm sorry Alexis is in a lot of pain, but I'm glad she got to have the surgery done. She won't regret it (eventually).

Karen, have fun playing!

Tomorrow is my son's wedding. We are flying out and coming back within 24 hours (just can't miss school or work). It will be super fun and super draining, but I'm excited to see my boys again and meet the fiancée for the first time, LOL. I'll also get to see one of my brothers, as I invited him. :) I just hope everything goes smoothly and we get them married!

:hi Hi Wafflers..... come and join me over in the Healthy Kitchen and be a Spicy Motivator if you feel you need some encouragement or would like to give some.

Well, it is over and I am back home! We were gone just over 24 hours. After sleeping less than 3 hours last night, I slept almost 4 after we got home. I think we'll still have an early bedtime tonight!

The wedding itself was pretty simple, which suited the bride and groom. It was nice to finally meet her! It took place at a venue that was both chapel and reception hall. Very unique and perfect for the amount of people who came. Everything just came together beautifully and we had a lot of fun. As soon as I get the pictures, I'll scrap them! :)

How's everyone doing so far this week? It's been pretty quiet here, so y'all must be busy!

I've been slowly recovering from our whirlwind trip to the wedding and back. I don't ever want to do a trip like that again- it was just too hard on my body. It was worth it, but I hope our youngest has better sense about this than my middle child! I love him, but man, 3 weeks' notice is like no time at all, LOL!

Glad the wedding went well.

I am still nursing Alexis along, the pain from surgery and the jaw has made her "in misery" as she describes it. I get lots of texts from her as she can barely talk. Doc isn't doing anything to help.

I got the nicest note from one of Austins teachers calling him a star student. It made me feel all warm and fuzzy, complements from his teachers were few and even fewer as he never fit the square kid in a round hole at school. This is just awesome. If nothing else COVID helped him to learn by going online.

My doc appointment for me, was good and bad, for once my magnesium and potassium are in the low end of normal ranges which is awesome, they usually are far below that which is bad for my electrical heart issue. But then I got told my bad cholesteral has risen dramatically, and I need a med for it, that might make me ache. grrrr. And of course living in Canada, and having a kid allergic to the sun, with blackout blinds always pulled down, my Vitamin D is low as is Vit B.

We think the house that exploded a few houses down from us in July is finally going to be torn down. A new metal fence is up all around it. Hope it is down, as many animals are going in and out of it. Skunks, cats, dogs, etc.

Ane, I can not imagine planning a weeding in weeks but glad it worked out well.

Sherri, Sorry to hear Alexis is not much better yet. My brother just had 5 teeth pulled due to an infection in his jaw that wouldn't heal due to his diabetes. Very happy to hear your son is improving and teachers are noticing. Too bad he didn't have the encouragement sooner.

Yesterday I worked in the garden and yard and accomplished so much. I had a river bed in the front yard for the past 3 years and although the design and bridge looked awesome, I could not keep any plants growing due to a large rabbit situation here. Last fall I put up a chicken wire fence to deter them but unfortunately it did not deter many and was so unsightly for the front yard. I had to dig up all the layers of dirt to remove the weed fabric to ensure when we grass over it would grow. I felt like I was digging my own grave, LOL! I might spruce up the dirt with a Halloween scene.

Today I am getting my back yard winter ready and hubby is going to spruce up the bridge for the back yard, maybe I will have better luck. Luckily, I just started a new morning yoga program and it has done wonders for my aches and pains.

Hoping to get some scrappy time in later tonight as I have a few Xmas cards unfinished and have a doll card swap coming up and I think NSD is soon.

Have a happy, scrappy day!

Hello all, I know it's been a minute since I've posted, I had a not-so-tidy breakdown of my mental health and basically spent the entire month of September with bare minimum functionality. I woke up, I dressed, I worked (from home), and then I shut off and just kind of. Existed. Sort of. I'm not entirely better, it still takes very, very little to rock my boat, but I am doing the best I can, and that is going to have to be good enough. I set a hard boundary to finish work today by 16:30 because I know tomorrow starts the invoicing cycle which is ten hour days. I failed, but only by ten minutes, so that's still a great improvement over yesterday's hour and a half late because people needed 'stuff'. We are tentatively planning a trip to see my family in Minnesota for January (yes, I am aware that's some questionable timeline choices, but he hates the hot and I have to use up my vacation time from this year). It all depends on him being able to cross the border, of course, and I am really hoping that it's doable.

I had a doctor appointment yesterday to check up on the state of my ovaries. I've had diagnosed PCOS since I was 12, and it has in turn resulted in anemia and almost dying a few times from haemorrhaging, but the treatment seems to be working- not a single cyst on the ultrasound. I'm stunned, but pleased. Now if I could just get all of the other 'stuff' out of the way, maybe I could get a handle on my mental health since it seems like the physical's going ok enough. A year ago this week I said goodbye to my grandmother for the last time and it has been weighing on me terribly and no amount of logic will alleviate any part of it.

I will try to be around, as my overwrought brain permits. x

Sending love and hugs Sherri and Syl AND everyone else!

I hope you can find some time for me if you are able to make it back home in January, Syl. Miss you, sweetie. I'm so sorry you're dealing with so much mentally. I remember that time in my life too. It is absolutely exhausting. Please take care.

Hope Alexis is feeling a bit better. I hate toothache almost as much as headache!

Well, my DD is no longer a practicing nurse and I'm bawling. She had to make her choice and she did. Now she's out of the profession she loved and I HATE THIS GOVERNMENT!!! That is all. Thanks for listening.

Carla, absolutely! I wouldn't dream of swinging through the state without saying hi!

Today we took his parents to change their cell phone providers and it was our very own three ring circus. Came home to find that the littlest Yorkie was in a complete froth for reasons unknown, and wouldn't settle down until she had been held for a good ten minutes. She doesn't like when she can't come with on the errands.

I am staring at 6 PDFs with an average of 15 pages per for Austria and thinking I should get into it, but instead, I am going to unpack some downloads and arrange things because my creative spirit is having difficulties.

Yeah Sherri. They're trying to have a baby and she's done her research. She worked ALL THROUGH the d***** pandemic, with barely, basic PPE and now they're demanding they take the jab. She won't do it. And if she waits to be "fired", they'll call it "insubordination" and she'll lose her PTO. She's just decided she doesn't want to work for people like that anymore. I think I'm more "upset" than she is, but she's had more time to digest it.

It sounds like a lovely start to the holiday. I love spending time with my grandchildren.

There is a lot to be said for home. I love being here. :) I have a holiday planned, though.

I need to go there. I am going to spend time on computer tomorrow, I'll check it out. Today I am catching up on a hurry.

Well, it is over and I am back home! We were gone just over 24 hours. After sleeping less than 3 hours last night, I slept almost 4 after we got home. I think we'll still have an early bedtime tonight!

I am glad everything went smoothly. I am looking forward to seeing the pages of the wedding. They will be beautiful and your new daughter will be so delighted with them.

I am not sure what is going on, but I can't do a reply with quote any more. It brings up a tons of stuff.

Sherri, Alexis does not need any additional pain. She is sensitive to it in the first place. Then this on top of everything. The poor lassie.
So lovely that Austin's teacher gave you that note.
Hugs and prayers for your health.

Karen, Oh goodness, your description of reworking the front garden sounds like a lot of work. Those rabbits. You sound busy with marvelous, wonderful projects.

Syfie, I am so sad for you and the issues you are going through. It sounds as though you need a few more people around who appreciate you! Work definitely doesn't and I know there could be more appreciative people in your personal life.
On a funny note - I read "overweight brain" in the last sentence at first glance. I was thinking how smart you must be to have an overweight brain. Then I re-read it.

Carla, I am so sad about your daughter. Some choices in life are tough.

Me, I have not been around as much lately. I seem to get wrapped up with these big projects that demand my waking hours, then don't have time for important things. My sister-in-law was visiting from North Carolina this week and we had dinner with her last night. Husband Rand decided it would be a good thing to digitize all their childhood family movies and slides to give to her while she was here. That way he could downsize the originals.

The only real way to digitize the films was to play them and film them with a high quality camera, so we did that. They are from a unique camera with strange cartridges. We had to get the projector fixed to do them. They are old with no sound. The project involved filming them, then reviewing them in an editor to detach and delete the sound, then brighten and sharpen them. They also play in a loop, so for many of them, the loop did not start in the right place, so I had to clip sections and rearrange them. For fun, I added silent movie slides at the beginning to provide the date and content, and an end slide with just a little scroll on it to mark the end. When I was done editing the individual ones, I compiled them into a larger film of all the movies and added music.

The slides, I used an app called "Slide Scan." We put them up on the slide sorting board (which was my dad's from the 60s!) and just scanned them one at a time. There were almost 600 slides. I first had to sort them into dates and events, which was tough. The scans are not super quality, but many of the slides were poor to start out with. We looked at the scans and decided they were good enough. We ditched all but the main ones. My husband also ditched the projector and film cartridges. I can't believe it after all this time. Again, the quality is good enough. Not brilliant, but good enough.

Now I have to be brave enough to rescan the black and white film negatives I have, then let those go too. Our children will not want them, so digitizing them, scrapping them and putting them in books is the best thing we can do. They love looking at those.

Today I will be going to a meeting of our 50th class reunion committee. I have said I will NOT be on the committee. They were not kind to me last time and I don't see why I should suffer through that again. The mean girls are on this committee too. I do want to help, but only doing things for the members I adore. I am excited to help, but not to be part of the committee. Then, I have a Harry Potter day with my hair stylist and her son. They come over once a month and we do a film. It is fun.

Last night I did my nails... why is this news, you may ask. Well, I discovered nail wraps and they go on so quickly, they are dry and they sparkle. They do my heart good haha. My daughter's ex-boyfriend's cousin's wife sells the ones by Color Street and they are gorgeous. She is a darling and I wanted to support her, so I just bought some and now I am addicted. I put my second set on last night (they last about two weeks without chipping, maybe longer) and I have spent the morning hunting down bright sunlight and watching them sparkle. I need to get a life.

I still watch baby Bruce a lot, but not full-time at present. I might go on full-time when Nessa's cousin has her baby and the Aunt is watching her instead. I think Nessa will like that much more because when won't have to pack up Bruce every day. I am not sure how I will cope with my crazy life and my mother, but that is another story. We will see.

I lost a good friend in August to COVID. Her celebration of life was in September and I did a slide show of her life set to music that was almost an hour long. I elected not go because of COVID. There were over 100 people there. Even though proof of vaccination and negative COVID tests were required. I worry about bringing something home to my mum.

I think that might be all my news.

OH - except I am going on holiday to England later this year. My mother, my brother, my daughter, her boyfriend and me. My husband is going to stay home on this trip. He and I are going next spring when Karen can come and be with my mother. This trip is for family. We will be spending a week in Ingleton and a week in Southport. I have a friend from when I was four or five who will be coming down from Scotland to see me. We are also meeting up with my sisters for the first time. We spent fifty years trying to find my three half-sisters. We found them last year and are meeting with two of them while we are there. There will also be a cousins reunion. We have to sort out whether we can meet in numbers and how to do that safely.

Sending everyone a big hug on this list. It seems that life is sure bringing a lot of trials to everyone and their loved ones. I'm so grateful to be a part of this scrapping community and hope everyone has an amazing day. And if not a whole day, to at least find one moment of happiness and joy at at time! <3 <3 <3

Thank you, Breoni! :)

How's everyone doing this week? I realized yesterday that I hadn't gone anywhere outside my home since we got back from our trip to the wedding! :O I went to see Eren perform in the homecoming parade, which was short and sweet, but I got out! I'm looking forward to Saturday when I get to go to a craft day at church. I just love crafting- I need to do it more!

Sylvan, I am so sorry you are out of sorts and dealing with so many priorities. I hope your trip goes well, sending hugs!

Carla, How sad for your daughter, the health care jobs have not been easy. I hope she finds another profession that she can love just as much.

Lynnie, Of course you sound busier than ever. I have so many photos that I need to scan, elder son said my grand-daughter would be happy to do them for me. And a bonus for her - she gets to see photos of Dad and Uncle growing up. Of course, I will compensate her for her time but it is such an nice offer, she will start come winter. We also have a friend that transfers any digi stuff to another savable format. We too have so many short movie clips from an old movie camera that we would like to transfer to a drive. So sorry to hear of your friend's passing, Covid sucks but I think you mad a good choice for yourself and your mum, HUGS!

I have been busy the past couple weeks with house repairs and upgrades and I am happy with the results. There is still a lot to do but I am getting there.

Happy Thanksgiving to all that celebrate in October.

Hi everyone. Had a busy wkend (our Thanksgiving here in Canada). I ran errands and took the dogs for a long walk on Saturday, yesterday morning I met a client for a photo shoot and then in the afternoon had a casual family dinner (ham and scalloped potatoes). By the time we sat down to relax at 9 pm I was exhausted. We binged a few shows and I had a really good sleep until 6 when the pup woke me up this morning. Looks like this is the last day of sunshine for a week so I'll get out for a long walk with the dogs this afternoon and bring the camera to get some fall photos. The wkend flew by.

Fall has arrived in Kansas. Our warm temps were replaced this weekend by that perfect fall weather. Temperatures were between 60s and 80s and there was a lovely fall breeze all day yesterday. We opened up the house and let the fresh air in. It was bliss.

But it was over in a weekend. Ha! Today has been rain, rain, rain... and I don't think we are expecting a dry day again until Saturday. I'm just so excited for the mosquitoes to go dormant again soon! LOL!!!

Hey y'all. I've been reading but not responding a whole lot. I was knee-deep in a kit design that comes out this Friday. ;) I have a small procedure on Friday, so I wanted to get ahead.

I'm so jealous of that fall weather some of you are already experiencing. We had a couple cool days last month, and today wasn't too bad. But Saturday I was at a festival and it was SO hot. Mid-80s. :P I hope we get another cold snap soon.

My dad always says this (and it's pretty true) but it always get cold by time for the fair. So I should only have to wait a couple more weeks! Do y'all visit the fair each year? I went a few years in a row, but it just hasn't been on my radar. I think I want to go this year though.

Sorry, that I have not kept up with all the happenings here. I hope nothing bad has happened to anyone.
It is a rainy day here which is good as we needed some Spring rains.

I have just started a new challenge in the Random Section which means it is not for adding to your Cookie Jar. The challenge is for those who like to create ATCs or Greeting Cards. Or possibly you could use the ATC for a Journal card to go on a layout.

You can find the challenge HERE

Happy thanksgiving to my fellow Canadians, hope you all had a good weekend, I think leftovers were better today than the meal yesterday. LOL.

The weather is changing quickly, many parts of the mountains and foothills got snow, it was forcast for here but we got rain.
I scrapped today, as I watched TV.

The end is almost in sight with the remodeling... Kitchen is finally fully functional. We will use the stove for the first time this week if we can find our pots and pans. We don't know if they are in the basement or in our storage unit. LOL! This week we are spending 2 or 3 days at a hotel while they sand and refinish the wood flooring in our dining room and living room. We decided to do the siding on the outside of the house about 2 weeks ago. We got quotes and they are starting it tomorrow!!! That was a lot more expensive than we thought but hey, once it's all done we wouldn't have to worry about it for at least 10 years!!! That was the purpose of the whole remodel to begin with. All new and worry free for at least 10 years. So within 2 weeks we should be done... for now.

We still need to get the oil tank outside replaced, new driveway and walkway in the front of the house and the garage needs to be exterminated and lastly new lawn/gardening and possibly a basement remodel.

But YEAH! It's just about done!!!! Hopefully I'll have time to scrap the progress. I've posted some pics on facebook for those that follow me there!

Love ya' all! Stay safe!

Good morning. We had quite the storms around the western part of Kansas last night, including several tornadoes. I was on the 11th floor of a hotel in Wichita, KS, and was woken up by the storms around 4 this morning. Whee... it's always fun to live in Kansas during storm season. Luckily, our board meeting will wrap up this afternoon and I can head home.

I'm hoping my fall decorations on the porch will still be intact. One of our friends planted three varieties of pumpkins this year and they thrived this year. She has so many pumpkins that she's giving them to everyone she can think of! Ha. She gifted us a huge bright orange pumpkin that it all bumpy and so cool. She gave us several of the tiny little decorative gourds ranging from yellow to orange to green to white. Then she also gave us two of a variety of large pumpkins called "blue pumpkins." They are more of a soft greenish blue color and they are so neat. We sprayed the whole lot down with bleach to keep mold off of them and to extend the time we can display them. I'm sure I'll do a scrapbook page them on them.

Hope everyone has a WONDERFUL day!!!
