Dropping in to say hi.
i haven’t felt well this past week. Not sure if it’s just my typical gi issues, or my allergies, or both. I’m just so tired. Haven’t even gone out walking most of this week.

Finally Friday...it has been a busy week!

Lily Ann, I can't wait to see your photos of your newly renovated home, sounds like it will be fabulous! Congrats to Molly for getting her driver's and lucky girl getting the car. Time does fly when you are living your life doesn't it! I have been with my company for 32 years!

Rae, Nice to spend so much time with family. I haven't heard of Code 404, which network do you get it on? Hoping the fire situation is improving in your neck of the woods!

Ane, How they age us, mine are 35 and pushing 32! Senior year seems like a blur for me!

Sherri, Hope you are feeling better soon.

Olivia, Hello and welcome! Congrats on "Baker's Best".

Last week, I divided my Peony bush, it was so huge and I needed to thin it so I can allow more room for a veggie garden for next year. I made a whopping $80 selling them on marketplace. Next is my lilies, they are so root bound and take up most of my small flower bed. I am hoping with the $$, I can buy some new plants to dress up the garden for next year. One of my friends has an absolutely amazing yard but she spend over $1000 each year and with the dry summer this year probably that much watering! Well, that's her thing and I sure love to visit her.

This week I broke my phone, beyond repair. My oldest son, Brian gave me his old one. He dropped it and it has a slight crack in the screen but works perfect but of course he needed a new one....so lucky me got his old one. I right away ordered a case and screen protector and I love it more than my old phone. So tonight I am going to take Brian out for Japanese at our favorite place. Younger son, Jared is off on his Banff road trip and will be home tonight.

Well off to do some CT work, have a great day everyone!

It has been busy

Karen, I am fasctinated by the concept of selling your divided flowers. What a great idea. And how cool about your phone.

Lily Ann, I can't believe Molly is old enough to drive. I feel as though we have grown up with her.

Rae, How are things going with Bailey? Are they restricting access with the Delta variant? How are the pups doing?

Ane, My youngest is in his 30s, so I have forgotten all about high school. I have grands now and am going through childhood all over again.

Sherri, I am incredibly tired also, I think the heat is very wearing, plus the mental exhaustion caused by the state of the world.

Olivia, How lovely to have you here. Keep checking in. I love cross-stitch. Did you get any done.

Thank you Karen! Quite a surprise to be nominated again :)

Lynnie, I didn't get any done last night, maybe I'll plan some time to this weekend. I'm currently working on my largest piece yet, this one from Marty Bell.. What is your in progress?

I used to cross-stitch when I was younger. I learned all the cool stitches through practice. My favorite piece is a hummel on a swing. It is packed away now because of the reno. I'd love to get it framed when all is said and done! That is a very relaxing hobby.
Packing my area now. The reno will start down here mid week. Than the fun begins!

Lynnie It's so true how we watch our on-line friends families grow. I've been around the digi world since Philip was around 1 or 2 so you could imagine how many families I've seen grow right before my eyes.

Beautiful work Olivia! My great grandmother did cross-stitch but I don't have the patience for it.

Thank you Karen! Quite a surprise to be nominated again :)

Good luck with the reno, Lily Ann! I'd love to see your pieces when they're not in storage. I've made maybe 5-6 so far and none are framed. :( Really need to get on that.

Karen, that is unfortunately the pattern example. I'm maybe 10-20% done. I find it really relaxing but it does require patience!

I used to LOVE to cross-stitch too before carpal tunnel started to set in. It's not serious enough to have surgery yet, but ornery enough to cause tingling when using my hands in that way for extended lengths of time. Even simple mending hurts sometimes now. I have a monopoly board that I created years ago that I have framed. We used to actually play on it when the girls were little! I also created a map of Minnesota with our favorite places on it. I have my mom's original creation of our family lake map with our cabin indicated. Special memories.

Good morning, ladies. Was out for 3 hrs this morning, picked up Jen and Bella and we took the 3 dogs to the park. Until 10 a.m. the whole park is off-leash for the dogs. We walked the trails with them and then let them chase the ball in the big field for a bit before heading back. It was hard on my back (I have chronic low back pain from bulging disks/stenosis/spurring) but it was worth it. I'll be careful for the next few days, doing lots of stretches and laying on the floor to watch tv later to help ease the pain. I took a a lot of photos so can't wait to scrap some of them.

We watched Cruella (loved it) and Suicide Squad (liked it) and maybe tonight we'll watch the Black Widow. I'm finishing up a really good book (The Silent Wife by Karin Slaughter) and relaxing for the rest of the day. I might scrap a bit later.

I'm off to get another coffee and look thru the dog photos I took (400+) this morning. Have a good day everyone.

Lynnie - the dogs are all great. Remi is now about 35 lbs and very happy, healthy and energetic. She keeps me busy :)

That is a beautiful piece Oliva. I too used to crossstitch. I have framed pieces all over my house.

Smokey and hot here, but nothing like BC is, they really need rain. We do too, but they need it more.

Walking is very late at night or early early morning as the smoke bothers my lungs and heart so much.

I found out last minute that my sister is also on vacation this week. So we made last minute plans, and they'll be arriving at the Feldkirch station on the Austrian-Swiss border tomorrow, and we'll pick up her, her husband, and their dog Jack and spend a few days hiking. We brought both of Ale's guitars, and his bass, and his amp up, so the boys can play.

We brought the ice cream maker up, so we can make vegan ice cream, and we're gonna have to swing through a grocery store on the way back, because while we have a lot of vegetarian stuff on hand, vegan's not quite as easy.

I had a really good conversation with a friend of mine who is suffering a domestic abuse situation, and I am relieved at least, if there is no other benefit to my abused mental health and suffering that I can at least speak to it and encourage others to get out. I am really hoping a week to decompress does me good!

Schools are starting up in our part of the world last week and this week. I was asked by my daughter's former dance team coach to take photos of all of the dance team members this year. I was tickled that she asked as I used to love doing that when my daughter was in high school. I don't know ANY of the kids in school right now, but I simply adore the coach and we set up the photoshoot for this weekend. Ha... ah teens... I just got a call from the coach. FOUR of the girls "forgot" about the photoshoot coming up and now can't make it. So we'll have to reschedule. When my daughter was on the team, they only had 9 girls. This year, there are 19!!!! So I can only imagine how full the coach's hands are. The good news is, now that my Saturday morning has opened back up, that means I can attend an honest-to-goodness, in-person, crop. I haven't cropped with my friends in sooooo long. Of course, my cropping area looks very different now. I just have my lap top while my friends will be hauling in load after load of paper, photos, tools, and other supplies. The only drawback to this crop is that there will be no WiFi access, so I'll need to make sure I have everything downloaded before I go. Can't wait! Do any of you remember your first crops?

Sylfie, that sounds like a nice getaway. I'm glad you were able to be there for your friend.

Breoni, I've never been to a crop! Well maybe I have, but not like a set up weekend at a scrapbook event. I definitely have crafted with friends and family before though.

OMG! My FIRST crop?!? Seems like 100 years ago. I remember being scared to death to cut up my first picture! Then I remember having to physically RIP up pictures that I chose not to use or I would go back into the trash to "save" them. Of course, I've been scrapbooking since the rock, paper, scissors era. I've sorta "scrapbooked" since I was a teenager and used the old-fashioned photo albums, with tape and markers and sequins and "stuff" from craft stores, but I never cut up my photos. Just think if I would have thought it could have been an "industry"!!! In fact, the guy up the street created the store ARCHIVERS which was huge here in the US for years! I dated his son for awhile. Maybe that's where I got the ideas???
Now I'm like YOU, Breoni!!! I take my laptop and depend on wifi (or DL ahead) and enjoy watching everyone else haul in their BOXES and LOADS of everything!

Olivia, I crosstitch too! I go through periods where I work intensely in my WIP then periods where I don't touch it for months, LOL. I made samplers for my first 2 kids' births pretty soon after they were born, but I haven't started one for my youngest, who's 17.

My first crop? That would have to be in '96 or '97 when a CM consultant came to a church women's auxiliary craft day and taught us all how to do 8.5x11 pages. I've been to many, many crops since then, though none digi. I'd love to do a digi one someday. :)

I don't really recall the events but... I think I saw a Creative Memories Consultant at a craft fair and signed up to be a consultant shortly there after. I went to a couple of crops at the consultants house. I only had one tote than! My circle of friends wasn't big enough to continue selling as I was buying more than selling so I quit that but have tons of their products and continued to buy some time after that until they came out with their software.
I than discovered digital scrapbooking, became a designer and went to two digital retreats hosted by Scraps N Pieces. Digital retreats are so much easier than paper retreats!!! Can't wait to do another digital retreat!

I love that so many of us cross-stitch! It's now been a week and no cross-stitching for me. :( I really want to pick it back up, like you Ane I go through months of intense work to nothing!

Tomorrow my aunt and grandmother are coming over for pizza dinner. I'm hoping we'll pull out our projects after food; my grandmother does embroidery and my mom stitches as well.

Today I went to the optometrist and picked out new frames! I can't wait to get them.

Good morning ladies. The rain is coming today. BC really needs it. I've got a day of work, chores, grocery shopping and want to bake another batch of blueberry muffins. I have a recipe for a healthy batch with very little oil, no dairy or sugar, just a bit of sweetener and honey. I'm binging "Good Witch" off and on as I work. Then I'll batch "The Beast Must Die". I saw episode one and liked it so need to see the other 5.

I want to do some food organizing this wkend. I've got cupboards downstairs that need to be sorted out. I get motivated when I see Youtube vids and their pantry is so organized and it's so easy to find everything. I spent about 10 minutes hunting for canned pumpkin yesterday, onto to discover that the can I thought I had seen awhile back was not pumpkin,it was soup. So the dogs didn't get their tbsp of pumpkin with dinner last night or this morning. So that's my goal for the wkend, to organize the food.

Hope you all have a great day. I'd better head out with the dogs for some playtime before the rain starts. BFN

Hello Ladies,

It has been a busy week. I lost a friend to COVID last Thursday, it was a big shock, sudden and unexpected. We had been planning her 60th birthday one day and the next she was gone. Now I am planning her memorial service. My spirits are a little low.

Olivia, my last completed cross stitch was finished a few months ago. It was my grandson's day of birth cross stitch and a collaborative effort. My daughter-in-law's mother and I passed it off between us until it was done. It took five years, but that is okay. I love Marty Bell. We have the "The Mermaid in at Rye" hanging in my mother's room. It is a signed lithograph. We love it.

I have a few cross stitches ready to start, but mostly smaller ones these days. I have problems with my hands.

My daughter is so unhappy today. One of her pet chickens died and she is not coping well. Her and her brother are burying it. Karen made a little box for Bunty and a little bed inside the box with a lovely note she made thanking her for all the love and all the beautiful eggs.

One of those bittersweet funny moments in the process was when I was trying to find out the regulations with regard to the disposal of pet chickens. The first three things that came up were Kentucky Friend Chicken, Canes, Chick Filet. I worry.... Of course, we had chicken tonight, I was already cooking it when Karen called to say Bunty had died. I didn't have the heart to tell her.

Lily Ann, I remember you from SNP but don't recall what store you had?

Rae,
It is raining here too and expecting it to last for the entire week. I hope this will help with the devastating fires that have taken so much from us including the forest and wildlife.

Lynnie, So sorry for the loss of your dear friend, life sometimes is so hard and cruel.

Celebrated Emily's 11th birthday yesterday with a outing to the "Centre of Canada" then off to lunch. I was so happy with the photos that I scrapped a page already. We are doing a family dinner as well on Sunday, so nice that we are able to see each other in person. This is so good for my mental health but we are still watching our circles.

Have a good weekend, everyone.

Lily Ann, I remember you from SNP but don't recall what store you had?

I designed under the name A Fish Design at both stores.

Hi everyone! Upstairs will be finished this week. Finishing touches on paint, grouting tiles, painting stair well and fridge delivered on Wednesday and stair well carpet on Thursday.

We bought our kitchen appliances today... fridge, stove, dish washer, microwave, food processor and toaster.
Demo on ours living space should start mid-week. It seems every few days it is pushed up a day or too. One of the tile guys got Covid and that delayed us for a few days until our contractor got someone else to do it.

I've been working on the video for my friend's memorial. I might not be around too often this next week or two. I am still bowled over by Nanci's death. We were working on the invitation to her 60th birthday and a few days later she was gone. Working on the memorial video moves me to tears.

What's everyone getting up to this weekend? I've got guests coming who are fleeing Hurricane Ida and will probably be with us til Monday. So exciting! And lots to do to get ready for 7 people, LOL!

Continuing hugs & prayers for you, Lynnie!
