I love Cornish Pasty. I've travelled a few times to Cornwall and whenever I am there I go eat one!

I look a bit weird now, I had itching in my eye and a blood vessel broke during rubbing. I have one red eye now. Everyone asks if I had a fight with my husband, LOL.

That is too funny. I got that same comment when I fell, broke my nose and got two black eyes.

Well, I'm saying goodbye to my current bedroom. The painters will be here Tuesday to paint. We have to have everything out of my bedroom before than. Thankfully it is just about done. Two more scrap bins have to be boxed and one closet that I was throwing stuff in. I'll be bunking with my kids for a few days. My new bed will be delivered May 28th. Than I can set up my room and order a new computer/hutch desk.
Than we have the dining room and kitchen upstairs to pack as well. Two closets there as well.
Than to pack the downstairs kitchen. I only have to wrap two closets of breakables.
The house still isn't in my name. I thought it was supposed to be this week. Hopefully next week.

Stay safe and I hope everyone is doing well.

Hello Ladies,

I am so heartbroken, I lost another close friend from cancer... I have lost so many family and friends from cancer and there are so many still fighting, My niece 11 has been fighting it for 2 years now and is in remission now. Another cousin 5 is fighting and in the hospital right now having so many issues that I wish children never had to deal with... it just seems to never end. I pray for a cure...
Praying for a peaceful and happy life for all of us... living in this world is getting harder and harder everyday.
So thankful for all my internet friends and family and for Gingerscraps... You all are FAMILY... scrapping helps me deal with all that's happening in this world. Have a good evening ladies will try and stop in soon... HUGS

(((Hugs))) to you, Alta! Cancer sucks!!!

I’m doing all right, taking care of Lena. Strained my back, but it feels better today. I get plenty of cuddles and also scratches, lol. But it’s worth it, because I’m being useful! :)

Here's a hope and a prayer that you are able to get the house in your name shortly. It is so frustrating having to wait. My uncle died a year ago last February and my inheritance is STILL in the works. It is down to a refund on his electricity bill. They can't distribute the estate until it is refunded. Some things take forever and they are taking even longer because of COVID. On the flip side, at least you are moving your stuff and getting your new furniture on order. How exciting it all is. Just think, in a few months it will all be done and you will be nice and settled.

It is hard, isn't it. They have made such progress on the cancer front and yet there is so far go go. It is hardest of all in children, I think. The world is a hard place to live, but there is so much amazing stuff to be thankful for, too. Some days we have to focus on the good parts as best we can.

Yes, cuddles make EVERYTHING better, don't they :)

@alta I am so sorry for your loss.

I hadn't been feeling well, a few nights with no sleep, led to a sleep fest today. I get tired of always being tired. LOL.

Nicest spring weather we have had was today, the house is hot and stuffy.

I hope you get the house in your name soon.
I would love to have our place painted, but I just cannot do the physical stuff you are doing.

Congrat Sherri!
Hugs to you Alta...cancer SUCKS.
Feel better Ane, but I bet looking after Lena helps the soul.
Yay, LilyAnne, almost to the finish line. It is going to look awesome!
Lynnie, those pastries sound wonderful! I will have to look them up and see if they are available here.

Mother's Day was a delight, with heavy restrictions still on, the boys bought me a virtual cooking class to make my favorite Japanese dish. Okoynomyaki. Both my son (at home) and I then my son and grand-daughter joined a private session with a Japanese cook that was so delightful. Mine turned out awesome and I am so happy I now know how to make this dish myself.

Heavy forest fires in the province that has led to my favorite biking trail beingclosed this past weekend. Then there was another fire in the neighboring town just 20 minutes away and we had to close our windows the smoke was so heavy. A friend of mine took a video of the water bombers dipping in the lake to reload their plane. Praying for all those that have houses and cottages in the areas. Pray that everyone is safe and they are able to contain the fires soon. Please pray for rain for us!

Take care and be safe everyone. :)

Alta.... That is sad that so many you know are dealing with cancer or have died. It is good to have online friends and digital scrapbooking is very therapeutic.

Lilyanne.... have fun doing up your new bedroom, hope the new bed is comfy and you get the desk you need for your computer.

Ane... hope you do not hurt your back again and cuddles of little one is such fun !

Winter has come early here for us as it has turned cold. My sweet husband hurt his back cleaning the car yesterday so he spent most of the day lying down as that was the only way the pain went. Today he is a lot better but still taking it easy again.
I have been busy doing some design work for the things I give away on my blog. My guest spot with Connie Prince is going well and I have enjoyed the pages I have created so far.

Hello Ladies,
Feeling a little better today, thank you all for the kind words. Scrapping helps it is good therapy. I hadn't been able to eat anything for a couple days but today I had a good lunch. Stomach has been bothering me a lot lately. Better today. I might be very busy this summer, after school is out my youngest son might need me to babysit every other week, he and his wife both work and he works different shifts each week. Always glad to spend time with the grands but they sure can wear me out these days... But worth it... Behind there house is the church rec center so they have lots to do in their backyard, a hiking trail, mini golf, so we will stay busy all summer. My daughter-in-law works at the church and they are all very active in church activities. It is a great church I go when I am there, and I watch the Sunday service on line when I'm at home. The Grandkids are better at Bible trivia then I am...LOL, so proud of them. My grand-daughter loves learning how to make layouts when I'm there she is catching on fast. So we will be doing some layouts while I'm there. Well I better get off of here and get a layout started, got to get at least 10 challenges in... Will stop in again soon you all have a great week!

Alta, I’m glad you’re feeling a bit better. Scrapping really is god therapy!

I talked with my doctor today and it seems that I did strain my back muscles. He said to apply heat and do back strengthening exercises. I will also have physical therapy when I get home. Karen, being with my granddaughter is truly good for the soul! :)

Spent a long time on Zoom chatting with Sherri and her daughter, Alexis today. It was LOVELY getting to know them better.

Alta, Glad you are feeling better and I am sure the grands will bring you much joy this summer!
Ane, Hope your back therapy is working and you are feeling better.
Lynne, How wonderful for you and Sherri to Zoom up!

Have to VENT...last weekend I spent most of my time going through furniture stores looking for a chair for my Mom. She has special needs due to her condition and I bought one and they told me I could return if not suitable and so I did and now they charged me $150 for re-stocking fees! I called customer care but they said it was marked on the call that they explained that to me, so very angry. Spent $150 and still no chair...

It is HOT here this week but the much needed rain is coming for the next 4-7 days. Hoping the areas that are still hot spots for fires get what they need to put them out. The air quality sucks and with my asthma it is hard to carry on with my outside cycling excursions. I hate to be kept indoors in the summer...guess I will have to resort to raking the lawn to get my excercise.

Have a crafty week everyone!

If they didn't explain it, I would give them a dreadful review anywhere you can find to review them.

It was so nice, thank you so much. I had such a good time, and the highest compliment ever from Alexis, "Lynnie didn't bring out any of my anxiety at all", she loves you, as do I.

Canada's long weekend for Victoria Day (Queen Victoria's birthday), is this monday coming up, it is always the first real long weekend after a very long weekend for us, and it was snowed in parts of alberta today with a cold front coming down from the arctic. campers are furious. The rain, cold, humidity, is playing havoc with my pain. Many places got hail yesterday. We got a loud thunderstorm which scared the bunny Frost, he hates loud sounds. Alexis had him wrapped as a burrito.

Austin is taking Social Studies 30, it is a grade 12 level course, required for graduation, but this year due to covid there will not be a provincial exam written in the course. Just course work and school level testing. He has been constantly told he cannot work ahead, waiting for other kids in the course to get to where he is, there is a Monday mandatory zoom, and yet he is the only one that ever shows up, but they still won't let him work ahead. It bugs me, it is so hard to keep him focused, and I hate stalling him when he wants to work forward. He would have had the course finished by now. grrr

Sherri, if he can't work ahead, can he work depth? It would require some ingenuity and Google digging, and maybe some library books, but whenever I stalled out in year 11 waiting for people to catch up, I just started digging past the curriculum provided content to learn more about whatever it was I was assigned. It's annoying as all get out to not be getting the most out of your schoolwork, and for me at least, busywork and wait made me completely check out, so my sympathies there.

I have been getting through my Spain scrapping at a pretty good clip, the last two pages I did are a CT release, so I am anxiously waiting for it to drop so I can upload because I really love them. They're so bright and fun, and it's what I needed in my life.

The bridesmaid dress drama is ongoing... not only did they cancel MY order... they also cancelled my mum's. So now she's going to call the store directly and maybe take a roadtrip if they can't be convinced to send it closer for pickup. Sears is apparently THE WORST and it's no wonder they're having issues if they've dropped this far in terms of service. I'm glad that this is all happening with a year and a half space to figure out a plan B if plan A fails completely.

At work I was assigned to a direct-CS inbox, and so I spend at least 2 hours a day going over customer complaints and trying to fix stuff on the backend. I don't mind it, and I have a list of canned replies so I don't have to spend more than 3-6 minutes for MOST of the mails in there, but good lord, there are some really angry folks with the profanity and the CAPS RAGE. I'm a little conflicted here, because part of the reason I have the inbox is because I can expedite updates as needed, but everything I see belongs to my 'department twin' in the US. We handle the Android apps from Switzerland, and the iOS ones from Minnesota... and it's really frustrating, because she is so far behind the level of 'acceptable' I'm held to. She doesn't communicate at all with what she has going on, and I feel like I am on a scavenger hunt every time I try to understand what's going on. It's a short drive to crazy, and she keeps moving the roadsign closer.

On the other hand, yesterday with the EU team I was able to help roll out a 30 block update for a critical error, so I'm quite pleased with that.

Good morning, all! I've really enjoyed getting caught up reading this thread and learning more about my fellow scrappers! What a lovely treat! :)

I live in Kansas and it's definitely spring. Everything is green and blooming and we've had lots of rain. Now that my hubster and I are fully vaccinated, we feel safer getting out and about. To celebrate, I treated myself with a new camera!! YAY!!! My old camera was such a work horse and it was starting to fall apart. So we went to a local park to take photos of the flowers... and we had to go back to the vehicle to get some tissues. So I'm thinking about making a scrapbook page featuring all of the pretty flowering trees and bushes that attack our allergies and title the page "Why we cry in Kansas"! Ha!!!!

Last weekend, I got to spend time with one of my nephews to take prom photos for him, his girlfriend, and their friends. This weekend, I get to spend time with another nephew and HIS girlfriend for their joint baby shower! Seeing family and being part of these major life events makes me so happy! :)

@breoni (Shana) so nice to see you pop in here and share with us. Congratulations on being on the Creative Team and how great to have a new camera. Your title for a page sounds a good idea! So nice for you to spend time with your nephews.

Hi everyone. I keep meaning to pop in and say hi but the days fly by. Things have settled into a good routine lately, I'm up around 6ish with the dogs, feed them, go out in the yard for a bit with them and then can get in a bit of scrapping time before starting work. We've gotten used to my daughter and Bella (her dog) being gone (they moved out a few months ago) and I miss her but don't miss cooking for her. She's keto, I'm plant based/vegetarian and hubs is a bit picky so it was challenging with meal ideas for everyone. I managed for the year she lived back home but now that its just hubs and I, dinner is so much easier.

I don't get onto the computer or scrap quite as much as I used to b/c the pup needs a lot of exercise and training. I've been doing an online puppy training class every day (I'm halfway through it now) and after that want to do some boundary training with her.

Lynnie - you asked about Jen moving out and yes, she did, at the end of February. A larger apartment became available in the same house she lived in before, they called her and asked if she was interested and gave her a really good rent reduction to come back. She's 5 min away so her and Bella come over every couple of days for a doggie playtime.

Sherri - you got a CT spot, good for you! Enjoy it.

I'd better go feed the pups and get them out for their evening walk soon. Just wanted to say hi to you all and check in. BFN

It's been a whirlwind of activity here. Lots of packing and things are moving quickly. I go for the signing Tuesday and the house is finally all mine. Limited internet access as we are downstairs now for the most part, running off phone hot spot temporarily. Talk to everyone soon.

I'll be a HOMEOWNER!!!

Congrats Lily Ann! We just bought our first house a few years ago, and there’s just something different about owning as opposed to renting. :)

Still enjoying time with granddaughter. This week, she gave us a cold! It’s not bad but I hope it clears up before I fly home on Friday. Can’t wait to get back to scrapping!

I hope y’all are having a great weekend so far!

Congrats on being a home owner, it is something special.

Rae: I miss your daughters puppy pictures but am enjoying yours.

breoni woohoo on creative spot

Ane enjoy the baby

I took my girl to go visit my mom, her only grandparent today, it was a great visit, but mom did not know either of us, she was just glad to get a visitor and talk. It was hard on Alexis, she hasn't seen her in person for so long. But going out in the sun always has affects, and todays allergic reaction (she has solar urticaria) was over exaggerated because its been so long since she has been exposed. Came home shakey, rash, hives, and feeling really ill.
Hopefully we got our internet fixed today, seems to be better.
Can we have good thoughts Thursday evening: Alexis is presenting / doing her evaluation training workshop that may allow her to become a trainer of Girl Guide adults. Its a huge thing at any age, but at her age, with her anxiety its a big deal.
Alberta is still leading USA and Canada for covid cases, still a shortage of vaccines.

Hello I am new here but I know a few here at GS. I meant to come and join the chat and read the last few pages. I live in Canada and we got our first heat wave last week.. with temp over 30 C (86 F)... for us here it's a lot if you think that only 3 weeks ago we only had 6C (42F). I am in the middle of moving and with 3 girls it is CRAZY !

@Sherri : I feel for you with the covid :( I live in Quebec so we were sadly the top ones for death and cases on the first wave.

Hi maskyra, welcome to the thread! Heat waves are the worst! Where I am we are having a cold snap, but it will warm up later this week. I have no idea what it will be when I return home on Friday, lol!

Welcome here maskyra! I love Quebec. Haven't been back in years, but the memories are still fresh. It's where my paternal grandfather's family settled.
