Mmmm fonts.

I got my Christmas tree taken down. We also trimmed all the Yorkie nails, in spite of the tiny one screaming bloody murder the whole time. I left the light curtain up, but unplugged it for the moment. I need to get it a remote switch, I think, getting down under the Gohonzon is a pain in the tush.

My dishwasher broke, and I have been hand washing everything until I can get it replaced- it stinks!

I can't wait until I can post my latest CT pages... they make me so happy!

Hi ladies. Just popping in to say hi. I've been busy with family, work and scrapping. We had a family loss b/c of COVID, my granddaughter became very sick at Xmas but is recovering and we got a new puppy on Jan 2nd. Life has been very busy. Hope all is well and you have gotten off to a good start with the new year.

hehe I am glad you like it Linnie. I am a font addict too! Do you have a font manager you like? I had one ages ago, but don't like the newer ones I've found.

I use High-Logic Main Type. I like it, but it has its flaws :)

I have everything in my world on remotes, Sylfie :) It makes me happy... We use things that plug into the outlets, then you plug your thing in there. We can then use the remote switch to turn it on. It is especially delightful at Christmas to turn everything on and off.

I have a love-hate relationship with hand-washing dishes. Part of me loves the quietness of it, part of me thinks it takes too long.

I hope you are feeling better, Rae. How is your back? Glad to hear your granddaughter is doing well.

ME....
I am home from the hospital (I may have already said that) and have another 6-7 weeks recovery time. My daughter is here today helping take down Christmas. I can't do any of it, unfortunately. The slightest bending and turning sets off a huge wave of pain that upsets the rest of my day. So I am drowsing in my recliner. I have been scrapping all day every day since I got home. I have a nice pillow that stops things resting on my stitches.

@Lynnie keep taking it easy.

both my kids are finishing up this semesters courses. Alberta cancelled the diploma exams and majority of students are not wrong them. Class marks are based on class work and a final project or end of term test. This is fantastic for my boy that freezes at tests. And just does multiple choice by guess.

we had high high winds yesterday, but snow kept shingles on roof. We need it reshingled desperately.

alberta is slowly opening up again after the last quasi shutdown. Whereas other provinces with lower numbers are doing harder lockdowns. Not much word on vaccines for folks yet.

ive been scrapping Disney: come visit the Fish bowl for a Disney weekend with Miss Fish Templates

and my dear USA peeps, may there be a safe inauguration with no innocent lives lost.

We got a new dishwasher just after christmas, it’s like learning Tetris all over again.

Font addict here as well. Thanks Tricia!

I actually LOVE washing dishes by hand. I think it's the warm water and looking out the window to my backyard and the quiet. IDK. Maybe the memories of our cabin where it was the only way to things.

We've got snow here today. Not as much as the forecasters "PREDICTED FOR AMAGEDDON"!!! Just makes me LAUGH that our local weather people keep screaming about blizzards and inches of snow and then we get trifles. We live in MN for heaven's sake. It snows in January! It snows anyway from September through April! Heck, it's been known to snow in MAY!!!

Welcome, Tricia! That's an adorable font. :)

Lynnie, I hope you are plopped down in that recliner and not doing anything, except scrapping, of course.

Sherri, I hope that dishwasher doesn't give you any trouble!

Carla, we are getting snow today too, but it's a pittance. I wish it would snow for real. I actually don't mind shoveling it.

Me, my hubby had a heart attack scare yesterday, but he's fine. No heart attack. Just waiting on another test to find out if his ticker is OK. There's no reason it shouldn't be.

Sherri, sounds good about the tests. I have done a layout with Miss Fish's new Disney templates. I love them.

We were able to register for the vaccine, but no appointments yet.

I am praying for the same, for the inauguration.

Good luck with the new dishwasher.

Carla, the media does like to exaggerate and turn a molehill into a mountain. Nothing is anything until is is over-exaggerated.

Ane, I am plopped in my recliner and scrapping. I am just curled up and content if I don't move. I am very uncomfortable, but if I don't get up and down, I am not in too much pain. When I move around, it is agony, so I just don't move.

I am so sorry about your husband's scare. I hope they find out what is wrong soon and it is something minor, like indigestion.

We always purchase something for the house at Christmas instead of giving each other gifts (just the tow of us now at home). this year was a new dishwasher ..... its on backorder until February. LOL.

Lol, that's always the way, isn't it Emily? Everything we've been after has been on a ridiculous back order lately. I guess I am just hoping that it comes 'within a week' like the fellow I spoke to at the shop yesterday said it would. The Federal government has ordered a lockdown of non-essential business, so he told me to bring my old one in myself to save a hundred bucks (and he came out to my car and unloaded it for me) and then order online and have them bring it curbside for me.

We ordered it this morning and they'll phone me to let me know when they'll bring it- which doesn't mean much since we're both working from home, we never go anywhere lol.

Got my CT pages put up places, and am thinking I need to have a call with my sister soon. I had a nice 20 minute chat with my grandfather yesterday- I call him every day, it started during grandma's last weeks, and will continue because I can tell he needs it, and if I can help him feel less lonely, then it's worth staying up late.

Happy Saturday- Had G'kiddo's all day yesterday and a sleepover last night. They wore me out!!! They did a lot of bicycle riding which meant I did a lot of walking. G'son forgot his pajamas. Luckily I have fabric in the "magic closet" that worked out just fine.
Sewing machine [which has been serviced twice recently] acted up. I'm wondering if I had the wrong needle in. It's possible.

Hubby had major dental work on Thursday. He's been undergoing the prep for implants. They put 2 screws in and a lot stitches. Monday he has a colonoscopy. Oh tomorrow should be a fun day.

I dislike watching TV at all anymore. I scrap, knit, crochet and read.

Lynnie- I sure hope the pain is improving from your surgery. Good luck with the crochet. Bella Coco on YouTube is excellent. My little Sarah is trying to learn too. Now she wants to knit as well.

Ane- Yikes on the acupuncture pain. I've never done any of that.

LilyAne- wow on the vaccine. We registered. Hubby got in and has had #1 injection. I was timed out. Then I tried again...it acted like it gave me the first appointment then when I went for the second...it rejected as all full. So , no for me thus far.

Rae- Saddened for the of a dear one with the virus and your granddaughter's illness.

Sherri- I hope the opening in Alberta is successful.
m
ps- it's cold here!

Emily, welcome! How nice to have you here. Maybe you will get lucky and it will arrive early.

I am really lucky, the oven, stove, fridge, dishwasher, countertops, flooring and carpeting are part of our condo maintenance. They are replaced every fifteen years for free and all the maintenance in between is for free. Our HOA is high, but it covers the insurance, property taxes and tons of things like electrical, plumbing, painting, etc. I have to remind myself when I pay it each month.

This year, we are replacing all our windows with double glazed windows. We have been promising ourselves since we moved in almost 9 years ago. We are also redoing the blind and curtains on the house, which will be wonderful. The other thing we want to do is replace the carpeting that we picked out when we moved in. The carpet that was here was hideous, but it was not time to replace it, so we did it ourselves. The stuff we picked has not held up over time, so we are ready to do it again. We want to wait until the pets are gone, though. They are old and we have to deal with a few accidents.

Sylfie, are you getting any pleasure from hand-washing at all? I hope your dishwasher arrives soon.

Glad you got your CT pages done. It is tough, sometimes, when you have a lot to do and you have all the emotional stuff that is going along with it. I know scrapping lifts me above the emotion...

I am still recovering from having a chunk of my colon removed. It has been almost two weeks since the surgery and I still can barely walk. The pain is almost unbearable. I just talked to my friend who was one of the top developers for medication at one of the big pharma firms until she retired recently. She used to fly all over the world for meetings. Anyway, she called a few minutes ago and spent 45 minutes on the phone telling me exactly why I was feeling the way that I am and what to expect. She is beyond fabulous. I met her on the DSP site before they closed. We met at the first annual laptop crop and just got closer every time we met.

I don't have much news because I have just been sitting here all day every day since the surgery haha.

My Aurora layout is up for voting in the Jan 1-9 poll, if you want to take a look. Vote if you like it.

new keurig today as the old one died. We got the new one and the boys took our old one.

I’m wondering if anyone can offer ideas for me. My iPad is my life, literally, I love it, it does everything I need it to. But it’s aged, and technology is slowly bypassing it.
I store all my digital kits in Dropbox, and just access my kits directly into Affinity photo from Dropbox. My current ongoing issue is that Dropbox takes up so much space on my iPad. I don’t understand the technology behind it. So my iPad is 128 gb. An older iPad Air. Dropbox takes close to 60 gb of space. I cleared my cache, nothing is saved for off line, so why does it grab that much space from my iPad memory. Anybody techie enough to explain it?

Oh dear Sherrie, I haven't a clue. I scrap and do everything on a desktop computer using photoshop. All my kits etc are stored on one of my hard drives and backed up on External drives.
I have an iPAD, but use it for games, watching a craft Youtube, or texting.

luckily my old dishwasher is still working. It's only 5 years old but it was a cheap model, mostly needed a new one because the racks are breaking and getting rusty. This time I am getting one with stainless steel racks! It cost a fortune but hopefully it will last.

Hey everyone - one of my goals this year is to connect more with people - including my online friends - so I thought I would pop by and say hello!

Emily - Welcome to GS - I hope you love it here! It's a great place to get inspiration and friendship!

Lynnie - I hope your recovery moves along a bit more quickly - I'm glad that you still get to scrap, but I'm sure you would love to be doing more at this point. Hugs to you!

Sherri - I have no tech advice - but a question. Do you scrap on your iPad too? Or do you just use it for storage?

Michi - I can't believe how big your grandkids are getting! When I see them in your LO's, it's crazy to see how much they've grown. I hope Bill's recovery from dental work and colonoscopy went well.

A good goal, Lori. My recovery will take a while longer, unfortunately, but, on the bright side, it is an excuse to do nothing BUT scrap. I never get bored. This is a good place to get to know people better. I enjoy all the lovely people who drop in to say hello!

I scrap exclusively on my iPad. That’s the primary reason all the digital goodies get stored on Dropbox. Easy to access.

Oh cool! I had no idea you could even do that lol. I used to scrap on a MacBook but now I LOVE the big size of my iMac. I don't think my old eyes could handle scrapping on an iPad!

As long as you're making progress, you're improving, right? I wish you all the best recovery vibes. I'm sorry you're going through this.

Stopping by to say hello everyone!

Tricia, thanks for the beautiful font! I too am a fontaholic!

Sylvan, I get ya!! I remodelled a couple years a go and opted for a pot cabinet rather than a diswasher....I am rethinking this by relocating my pot cabinet and making a coffee bar. Then I will have room for the diswasher...why didn't I think of this when I designed the kitchen? Blonde moment...

Rae, So sorry to hear of you loss due to COVID. Prayers for your grand daughter for a full recovery.

Carla, We don't have much snow this year compared to most years but some is on the way...you are not far from us in Manitoba. I miss my US road trips...

Ane, So scary....hope everything turned out for the best!

Michi, You are so handy to be able to whip up pj's...love it!

Sherri, The weather has been unseasonally high for MB and I have enjoying it. Your Aurora layout is lovely, I voted!

Lynnie, I do hope you feel better soon, up-side is lots of scrapping is getting done! Good luck with your renos.

Lori, Hello and welcome!

I am off on vacation this week and am freshing up my scraproom with a fresh coat of paint. I purchased a new sit-stand desk which is awesome. I can scrap alot longer with the option of not sitting so much! Things are always busy here with our new fur-baby, she keeps us on our toes. Didn't remember having so much work with a kitten, she is always in something and needed a bath today. Needless do I say, that didn't go well but she is soft and fluffy once again.

We are still in code red lockdown with a re-evaluation at the end of this week. I do hope that since the numbers are down that they will allow family visits...I so miss my son, DIL and grand-daughter. But...last night my son smoked pork and salmon and we did a drive-by pickup dinner. Bless his heart taking care of his Mom and Pop!

Well off to my painting...have a great day everyone!

Happy Monday to all.
Welcome Lori. Happy to see you here.

Colonoscopy is over- It went went but he was a "polyp farm" a quote by the doctor. Feels everything looked ok, though. Praying. I stayed in the car as not allowed in. I thought about walking the parking lot but at that early in the morning, dark and cold I chose to stay in my car and crochet once the sun was up enough to see.

We were excited the Bucs won the football game against New Orleans last night. On to Green Bay...the battle of the bays.

Thanks Michi... and good news on the colonoscopy.

Yeah, you're welcome. Our loss in Tampa Bay's gain...... I didn't even watch a single Patriots game this year. :(

Hi everyone! It's great to see old and new faces here! :D

Just wanted to check in. I had a nice, long weekend. Both hubby and Eren had today off, so I'm counting today as weekend. I'm in a little pain and hubby's echocardiogram hasn't come back yet, but other than that, everything's fine. I hope y'all have a great week! :)

Oh goodness, I just got an ipad that is powerful enough to scrap on. I have photoshop for my ipad. I was wondering where to store stuff, now I know. Sort out a layout, stick everything on my dropbox, then pick it up and scrap it on my ipad. I am so impressed. It is a hard thing to get used to.

Dropbox takes up that much space because it's accessing everything and holding the filepaths needed - it looks like from their help, they're aware that even if you're not "saving things for offline use" it's gonna be a space eater and they recommend removing things. Rude.

Lynnie - No, I am finding no joy in the dishwashing, though I am keeping up with it. I don't mind washing some things by hand, but the dog plates and the 79 coffee mugs in a day is something else. Especially when the boy starts dipping cookies and I have coffee-encrusted cookie matter at the bottom of the mug.

Karen - My kitchen is so small here, I am just lucky I can get a half-size dishwasher to FIT in the bottom cupboard and that the landlord didn't care if I took off a cupboard door to make it happen. The new landlord might kick me out within a year, but bet I am taking the dishwasher with me if they don't pay me for the value of it.

Work is making me micromanage my micromanagement tool, and it is driving me crazy, since a large portion of my work will now fall under "Emergency hours" when really it's that I create a priority list, and anything signalled from client or internal test mechanisms gets jumped to the top on the fly. But I am not allowed to write out "Updating things" as a task category because somehow it means I am unorganised. It's very annoying, I keep my department running like a Naval Warship, and I am still getting flack, the other girl who runs the iOS end barely keeps her ship above water, and frequently I have to go man her pumps, and she's allowed to do whatever she wants without oversight.

Would you folks complete my poll on dusting Christmas ornaments? Pretty please. My daughter's poll shows clearly that her friends (with the exception of one who thinks everyone else is a heathen!) do not dust them.

Dust the ornaments poll

Then I started a poll on Facebook and it is coming out the same way. It is interesting. It seems like a gap in the dustiness of the world.

Gosh it is quiet! how is everyone doing. I am hanging in there. I cleaned the kitchen counters this morning. It was an emergency LOL. Husband Rand is lovely and has waited on me hand and foot, but I don't think he sees things like dust and crumbs. However, that was the max that I could do, I was in agony when I was done.
