Susan, it is LOVELY to have you here. No worries about how often you can manage it, but we love it when you can. Please be so careful when you go out. My sister in law visited Vegas for her birthday, returned home and a week later had died of COVID. I know you know, I just like you a lot :)

I'm sorry to hear that. So sad.

Yes, I'm very careful. I don't go anywhere but the store, date night, and taking Michael to work usually. We wear masks, we social distance, and use sanitizer liberally. If she caught it and died within the week, it's likely that she was exposed before she ever got here.

On the strip and in the casinos, it's VERY strict. There are police all OVER the place, and I didn't see one person NOT masked, even outside. They followed social distancing, and I even saw a few people get talked to by the security when they were not social distancing.

Even though I vociferously disagree with the casinos being open and our churches being clamped down, I have to say that they are doing everything to keep visitors safe when they do come.

Hello everyone...
Lynnie, Sylvan, Lilly Ann. So sorry for your losses, sending prayers for all of you. I also loss a brother 3 days before Christmas, and a cousin about 4 months ago. My brother was 56, he had a lot of health issues from a motorcycle accident a few years before... and my cousin was 10, she had cancer, both so young. I have lost so many from cancer in my family and 2 very dear froms this passed year from brest cancer... I also have a cousin his name if Ford he is 5 and fighting cancer. I just don't understand why children need to suffer too... and to be a parent watching your child suffer is the worse pain. I know this so well after loosing a daughter and grandchild, I wish no parent had to go through that. And I am praying that 2021 gets better soon.
Glad your here Nora, I am also from WV... How far are you from Fairmont WV? I know a couple other scrappers that live here also, I have loved it here, I have left a couple times, but I always come back.
I am working on some layouts it helps me stay sane in this crazy world. I should be posting some challenges soon. I love doing the challenges, and love learning something new with scrapping. Soooooo relaxing. Well you all take care and stay safe... I will try and pop in again in a couple days. HUGS

Hello my name is Nora I am from West Virginia. It's been a couple years since I did any digital scrapping. I bought myself a new laptop for Christmas and wanted to get back into scrapping. My layouts may look a little wonky for a few weeks until I get back into the swing of things. I use paint shop pro 9 to scrap and have forgotten a lot of things. Scrapping used to bring me joy. I have several albums full. I print my own layouts 8x8. I look forward to meeting you all and getting back into the challenges.

Welcome Nora!!

Hey everyone update from Lynnie

she says:

I am through the surgery and doing well. It was four hours and I was in recovery for a very long time. At the end of the day I feel way better than I thought I would at this point in time.

I will let her know Alta

Lynnie let me know tonight that she is still hospitalized, and in a great deal of pain, and will most likely appreciate the prayers and positive healing thoughts.

What is everyone doing this weekend?

Yesterday I went for acupuncture and ended up with the most painful abdominal pain attack in a while. Not sure if the treatment caused it or not. It is much better today, so the child and I went grocery shopping. We'll probably not do anything the rest of the day as hubby is in an online training class all day. Tomorrow we'll have online church and not a whole lot else. We like taking it easy on the weekends, LOL! Maybe I'll get a bit more scrapping done- I like the new challenges,

We made cinnamon rolls this weekend, and just a BUNCH of laundry. I need to take my Christmas tree down, but I haven't gotten there yet. I need to put some effort into that, but I know that once I start, the boy's gonna want me to do it ALL at once, and it's a rather long process- not as long as making the tree, but glass balls are glass balls and can't be chucked about.

Welcome Nora. My dad and step mom lived in WV. [she was born there].

Happy New Year to all.
I'm saddened to hear of all who lost a loved one during the past year. My prayers for a better new year for all. I'm mostly just stayed off social media and hardly any online except for what I have to do for posting.

We are overall ok. Life is pretty quiet. We do see the grandkids [still watch them when both parents are working]. My girls have had their vaccination as both nurses. We are still waiting for appointments. Everything is booked and the computer plus the phone lines crashed for booking...

My covid craft of learning to knit is coming along. But then again, it only had one way to go.
Take care.

I am finally home from the hospital. Thanks, Sherri, for keeping everyone posted. I was in for five days and am still in a great deal of pain. The pain medication is helping and I am feeling better every day. If I cuddle up in my chair I am pretty pain free.

While I was in the hospital, I learned that my friend, Mars, died almost a year ago. We were the best of friends at the last site I belonged to. That was the Digital Scrapbook Place, which folded around 2013. There were a bunch of us that remained close, even after the site folded. Mars and I continued to exchange birthday and Christmas cards, and called each other two or three times a year. She lived in Canada, I lived in So Cal. One year, my daughter was performing a few hours away from where Mars lived and we rented an air BNB and met up. We had the best time, Mars and her girls and me and my girl. She did not return my calls this year, and now I know why.

The point is that we form friendships here that are beyond the pics we scrap. Sherri and I are friends outside GS and she was kind enough to keep folks posted. We need to make sure we know what is going on with each other. These friendships are important.

I know what you mean. This year I can't do anything - no bending, stretching or lifting for eight weeks. That means my husband with the injured hand and my daughter will be doing everything. Karen just had a COVID test and is isolating until she comes down. That way she can spend some time and help out. I am pretty excited to see her.

Michi,

My mum is a knitter. I have the most amazing outfits that she hand-knitted. At 92, she gets a little bored and is teaching herself to crochet.

Glad things are okay and you are seeing the grandkids. We have not booked an appointment either. I think they are still working on front-line medical personnel.

That does not sound good. I hope your pain gets better soon. I have to say I like it when I don't move and my tummy doesn't hurt haha.

Good Morning everyone. I'm new but decided to just jump in here head first. My Air Force Son was deployed to Saudi Arabia and left on Christmas Day. Plus, I had the wonderful pleasure of starting thee year off right...Surgery on 1/4/21. (SI Joint Fusion - and another scheduled in April for the left side). Ok 2021 can only get better from here and I am looking forward to whatever it brings my way. I hope to get to know some of you.

Welcome! It is lovely to meet you. I had surgery on 5th, so you have my sympathy. I had a colectomy and I am in quite a bit of pain still. I got out of the hospital on Saturday night. I did not think I would be able to be on computer for a while, but have sorted out how to put computer on lap without hitting any of the six incisions. I woke up this morning in a ton of pain. I had slept on my side because my lower back was hurting from sitting on my butt too much. I did not realize I was not supposed to sleep in my side for at least four weeks. Anyway, I had to take pain meds a little early and wait for them to take effect before I moved too much.

So sorry that your son left Christmas day. I hope you had time to spend with him before he left. I have not seen my kids in quite some time, except from a distance.

Welcome Emily! Our appreciation and thank you to your son.

Oh Lynnie how amazing your mom at 92 is learning crochet! The folks in the knitting group are supportive, I might just branch out past dishcloths! Good to hear you are home from the hospital. I'm saddened to hear of your friend passing.

Yes I totally agree that first meeting our scrapping friends in an online group can and are true life friends! I've been blessed to have met several now in real life.

Chilly here in Florida. Have a good day.

As I said earlier, a bit of a rough night last night. I tried to sleep on my side and it was incredibly painful. I am still recovering. I also feel as though I need a nap lol.

Katherine, nice to hear from you. Keep us posted on your husband's test results :)

Michi, She is a gem, mum is. I am trying to teach myself to crochet as well. We will see how well I do.

Welcome Emily! Thank you for your son's service. I'm a Marine vet mom. It's tough, but we live through it, don't we?
Glad you're home Lynnie. Hope your pain subsides soon.
I can't take my village down just yet. Still gives me too much joy to look at and hubby likes it too, so it stays.

I am so sorry!! I liked DSP also! I was addicted to DST and had over 30k posts there! LOL I can't seem to get into posting that much anymore anywhere!

*Waves HI to everyone*

Welcome, Emily! I can't say my hubby was ever deployed on Christmas, but he was definitely deployed over Christmas and once on Thanksgiving. It's rough- I hope he stays safe. :)

Lynnie, I'm sorry you were/are in so much pain. I hope the meds work for you and remember to sleep on your back, owie!

Me, I had a really rough day yesterday. I didn't get a lot of sleep and my pain was really high, but I had a nap and it went almost completely away. Today is much better- I slept well and am mostly free of the pain. I really hope we can figure out what it is soon. I've been having it off and on for almost 3 years now.

Carla, keep up the village as long as you need to. These days anything that cheers us should not packed away in a box.

Susan, I had a ton of posts at DSP, but I posted and commented every day. It was a huge part of my life, as was Mars. There were days when we chatted on Yahoo chat all day and on Hello before that shut down. We had such a good friendship.

Ane, I do hope they sort out your pain soon. I know mine is going to go away, so that helps. It is pretty awful, though.

Emily, hope we inspire you to scrap soon!

Sylvan, what a wonderful crop of photos you have of her life. The one thing that stands out to me is how she is surrounded with love with all her family and friends. Thank you for sharing!

I read about everyone's trial and tribulations. Wish I have time to comment on them all.

As you know I work in the Nassau County Health Department. Part of my job is answering phones specifically dealing with my department but I also answer for "information and referral" which is basically answering and directing phone calls. MANY of those calls are about Covid questions which I redirect. Last week I was given a link to the Nassau County Covid Vaccine website to make appointments. Now I get complaints that they can't get through. So frustrating for me and all the calls from people I really can't help.

Yesterday it was my turn to work one of the Distribution Pods for the vaccine. Things went smoothly. It is very well planned out with all the logistics. It's amazing how quickly this pod was set up. I know I'll be working these pods through out the distribution period. At the end of the day they had extra vaccines available from the last vile they opened and I was able to get the vaccine!!! Next shot is Feb. 8. My arm hurts today but it is a little pain now as opposed to what could happen if I didn't get the shot.

Stay safe. This is real!

Hope all is going well for everyone. I am drowsing in and out a good part of the day - can't believe how tired I am. I tried to unload the dishwasher today and cook spaghetti today and I thought my gut was on fire. i am so worn out.

Hello I like to play with design. I found this free CU Valentine font online which says one week only. I wasn't sure where to share.

Definitely the wrong place to post it... hahaha. I am a font addict and it is feeding my addiction :)

Seriously, thanks! It is a fun and fab font, I LOVE IT.

hehe I am glad you like it Linnie. I am a font addict too! Do you have a font manager you like? I had one ages ago, but don't like the newer ones I've found.
