Yvonne, I like your blog too! :)

speaking of blogs, I updated mine again. Ideas keep coming, which is a blessing.

Ane, that is good that you are enjoying adding to your blog. I have purchased that book which I will give to my daughter for Christmas.

My plan to add stickers to my calendar each day I do some form of exercise is working and making my calendar look pretty. Since I started doing that I have not missed a day. I measured my waist the other day and since the start of this year I have lost one inch. It does not sound like much but at least it is a start.

Thank you! Can you put a link to your blog in your signature? It shows up with every post, so I don’t have to look for it. And maybe it also attracts other people to your blog!

GREAT idea Yvonne! Just clued me into yours! I didn't even know that we could do that. (and now there it is... NOT that I post often, but that's where some of my layouts are)

Well no exercise for me the last two days. On Tuesday around lunchtime I was just standing at the kitchen sink and turned twisting my knee.... bang! .... instant pain. For the rest of that day I could not bend that knee without pain... 9 ( from scale 1 to 10). That night I had to sleep with that leg completely straight. Yesterday the pain was about 5-6 and I could bend to sit as long as I stay seated after feeling the pain as the knee bent. Today the pain is about 4-5 but only when I bend the knee.

Ane, you are doing great with your book reviews.

OH NO, Anne-Marie, I'm so sorry. I hope you heal quickly! I've done things like that before and there is no rhyme or reason and we're just down!

I had to do some errands yesterday so I got my steps in!

Oh, Anne-Marie, I hope you get that knee feeling better soon! Ouch!

I posted on my blog again today, I think that makes 7 posts so far? I haven't kept track, LOL!

Oh no! And it's so darn easy (too easy) to do exactly what you did.
Take care of it and hope to goodness, the pain goes away and you're back to normal soon.

I'm so sorry to hear that Anne-Marie. It is awful not to be able to walk because of pain. I hope it will get better soon. At the moment I have an inflammation in my shoulder. I can't put my coat on without help, but with some strong medicin it is going a bit better. But luckily for me I still can walk.

Yvonne, I hope your shoulder is better by now.

Thank you all for you kind thoughts. My knee is a lot better but still a twinge of pain at times. The last couple of days I have only been doing a set of seated exercises via Youtube with two physiotherapist. One exercise they stated was good for knee pain and really did help my knee a lot. ( just from sitting you just kick your feet out one at a time and if you can pull your toes back and it then works on your calves).

How's everyone doing? I've been busy, as you all probably are! :) I did manage to post to my blog today, so yippee!

Ane, you are doing well with all those book review. Looks like you now have a link in your signature... that is good.

I have been busy doing my sewing for Christmas gifts. Yesterday I finished a blouse for my middle granddaughter. As all the girls are getting sewn clothing including headbands each I decided to make something for my grandson who is 7 and I am in the middle of making a letter A pillow for his bed. ( A for Andreas)

I have not been doing a lot of exercise because of my sore knee but yesterday it felt good enough to do a 10 minute walk with a Youtube video.

Anne Marie, Sorry to hear you knee is still hurting you. My shoulder is getting better every day. I still walk a lot at least an hour every day. I love to be outside.

Ane, I saw you made a link to your blog in your siggy. I always read your reviews but most books are not available where I live. I tried to leave a comment, but I have to make an account to do so. Like you I also have a book, from my childhood, that I love to read over and over, not especially at this time of year. It is called Kruimeltje (translated in english: Crumb). About a boy left by his mother because she couldn't take care of him. A long story short: after years he will find his mother again.

They also made a film about this book, just love it.

Yvonne, I am pleased to read your shoulder is improving. My knee is still not 100% better.

I did yesterday handle doing a 15 minute walking Youtube.

Posted on my blog today, though I have to admit I'm running out of ideas for the non-review posts. I'll take suggestions, if you have them! :)

I think you're doing great, Ane. I know it's hard coming up with ideas, but maybe don't try so hard to be philosophical and "deep" and just blog about your life too. Give them "a day in the life" sort of thing once a week. You have a very interesting life. Don't know how much Eren is willing for you to share, but you could start with other things.

We've been awfully quiet here lately! Hope everyone had a great Christmas. We finally got to celebrate yesterday. Our oldest grandson, Kolten, had the flu the week before Christmas and we had to postpone. It was still wonderful.

Carla, I am pleased to read you had a good Christmas even though postponed.
We are yet to celebrate with our daughter and family. About an hour before we were to leave home on Christmas Eve to travel to be with them for two nights, she and her husband phoned to ask us not to come. They had a friend staying with them earlier in the week who had just phoned them to let them know he had covid symptoms. After being tested he is! Now my son-in-law is unwell and middle granddaughter has mild symptoms. We will wait some weeks until they are all clear before we get together to celebrate with them.

Therefore this was the first Christmas in our 29 years of marriage that it was just my husband and I on our own at home. We did go out in the afternoon for a drive to a small rainforest to go for a walk but we forgot that we had recent rain so we had to walk fast as there were lots of mosquitos.

The last couple of days I have got back to my walking inside with Youtube videos.

OH NO!!! Anne-Marie....... I have to giggle a little bit though. Rain forest, mosquitos, you think you'd know that one!

Freddy and I were just talking about how our Christmases have changed over the years. We've been together for over 40 years and we thought that they would change 10 years ago when our daughter went into the Marine Corps. Turned out we were very Blessed and she made it home for every Christmas. Didn't see her during the year, but she was here for the holiday! And Freddy being an only child made it very easy for his family to assimilate into ours and we because one, big, happy-happy! So really these last several have been very odd for us.

Another blog post successfully created! How's everyone doing?

I've read that book years ago, I really can't remember what it was all about. Even after reading your blog it didn't ring a bell. Maybe I must read it again.

Christmas was a very quiet one as usual. We have a very small family and my husband and I have no children. So most of the time it is just the two of us. My husband has his Birthday on the 28th of December and we always plan a few days away together. But in The Netherlands we are in a lockdown again. Everything is closed, only supermarkets and drugstores are open. Every other shop has a click and collect system. You call and tell what you want and you can pick it up at the door.

My shoulder is getting worse again. Next week they are going to make an echo and a photo to see what is going on. Happy about that because I have trouble sleeping. I wake up at night having pain.

I wish everyone a great New Year's Eve and a wonderful 2022!

So sorry to hear about your shoulder pain acting up. Hopefully the echo and photo will indicate a procedure to correct that ASAP,

A quiet New Years planned here. Hubby's birthday was yesterday. We did Zoom visits with family and watched a bunch of very good movies. I actually baked a cherry cheese cake from scratch...my first attempt at it and it came out fine. I'm lactose intolerant...so not only did I not have any (which didn't seem to upset hubby LOL) it kept my glucose level even. It's his favorite desert and he got it all to himself. Is that LOVE or what? (smile)
