Everyday Chatting & Waffling {2026} Let's get to know each other!

I have just started this month's Slow Scrap for those interested in joining in this month. You are welcome to join in at any time during the month as long as your finished layout is shared by the 1st of the following month. Come and join me HERE

I need to recreate a siggy still since I closed my photobucket account and had most of my stuff hosted there. Maybe that's a wind down after work project for one day this week.
I have a doctors apt in the morning and I have my fingers crossed that he listens to me about my thyroid and helps me get treatment. Since it decided to start dying, I've gained 40lbs in 3 months. I'm currently the heaviest I've ever been and for someone with body issues already, it is not helping my anxiety ridden bipolar self deal well.
We had an ice day on Monday, but it was back in the 60s today. Supposed to freeze over night again... I live in S. Texas for a reason. I'm so not a winter person lol

Hope this week brings smiles for everyone! <3

I have uploaded my siggie to the gallery and pointed to that this month. I have uploaded it to another place for years because there was always a problem on the old site between the gallery and the forums. I can see the siggie in both at present, though, so I think it might be okay.

May I please asked everyone to vote in the Layout of the Week! It is wonderful when we can all get together and vote for the pretty layouts. It is a great honour to be even nominated, but to win is something special. There are some very pretty pages. Vote for the page you like not the person you like :)

The City of Bridges! Well... Cindy lives in Cranberry, which always drove Freddy (hubby) nutz because he truly (yes, absolutely honestly) hates cranberries. There's a very long backstory there that I won't bore you with. (it's sorta funny, but not now) Roberta lives right in Pitt. We'd stop just off the TP to see both when we were passing through, at a incredibly yummy sandwich restaurant. Of course, I can't remember the name. I can't remember anything anymore. It's heck getting old!
Yep, the City of Brigdes !!! When we went to the baseball game we parked in town and walked across the Roberto Clemente bridge to the stadium. And the view of the city from Mt. Washington can't be beat --- just stunning.

Now you have me curious about the "cranberries" story. LOL !!!

I bet that restaurant you are talking about is Pirmanti Brothers. They make these sandwhiches that have fries and coleslaw on them, people come from all around to eat them.

Yeah, getting old sucks ...... I thought we all were supposed to age like fine wine.

THAT'S IT!!! That's exactly the restaurant @honeybee ! Thank you. Hahahaha... Yes, I like the wine idea. I'll have to remember that one. I'm..... aged.
Yes, the views are just great. It's so fun. Always something different.
Well, long story-VERY short. Hubby was employed as the production manager of the second largest cranberry company in the nation. However, being the second to Ocean Spray isn't saying much. Anyway, every morning he had to go back into the plant and walk through to taste test the vats....... WELL......... you can imagine. They had to wear rubber-soled shoes because, did you know how acidic cranberries are? They eat through leather. First weekend we were there, there was a picnic. Initiation was when they threw him in a cranberry bog. There was "slit-eyed" Thursdays... because there was nothing to do in town so everyone went out together on Wednesday nights and.... yeah and came into work Thursday mornings a little "tired". To say the least it was an interesting life in VERY northern WI, but we loved it there. Once finished however, he didn't want to SEE, TASTE, touch, etc a cranberry again ever in his life! There were a lot more stories, but those are the high (or low) lights. LOL

Good morning! Melissa @honeybee so glad you're here! YAY! Another Disney Adult!!! Can't wait to see your pages!

I've survived my annual meeting, so today is wrap up day... I will send out a summary, get all the event photos uploaded, write thank yous, and put all of our remaining supplies away. So nice, simple tasks that won't take a ton of brain power.

I am feeling sooooo far behind in my scrapbooking these days. I need to clear time in my schedule to focus on getting my 2024 vacation album complete, and our 2025 Disney album complete. We'll see if I can make that happen! LOL! Hope everyone has a great day!

Hope all is going well for everyone this week! How is the scrapping going? It has been hard to fit scrapping into my busy life, but I have tried to make it a priority because it makes me so happy when I do :)

Thanks, Lynnie. I'm struggling to find time to sit down long enough to scrapbook. For whatever reason, this has turned into such a busy time and I'm ready for a break. Randy and I will celebrate our 15th wedding anniversary next week, and we will be running away and turning our phones OFF...so I'm looking forward to some down time.

Hope everyone is having a great day!

I am not currently scrapping much. I've decided that I'll do what I can here and there but won't pressure myself do it anymore. At least until after graduation. The same goes for reading for fun, although my therapist says it is good to help me wind down before bed, so I may add it to my going-to-bed routine. Oh, I'm now seeing a therapist to help me with my sleep, but also other stuff too.

School is going well. I have another paper due in about 10 days. I'm going to start researching for it tomorrow. I will "graduate" at the end of August (that's 3 more classes, not including my current one), though commencement isn't until December.

Ane, I am low-key jealous of you only having three more classes before you graduate. Me, I have a little bit over two years to go, still though, I am more than halfway done with my degree so that is pretty cool to think about.

We have had all that ice and snow here so it has been cold and dangerous outside. In fact, I ended up stuck in my car in front of my house for over an hour (just trying to run and get milk). So, I ended up fighting fire with fire and traded that car in for a new one with all-wheel drive. Honestly though, I had been thinking of a new car for a little while and did it mostly as a gift to myself for all the work that I have done on building credit and learning to love myself. I traded my 2016 Rogue for a 2026 Rogue, which I have named Ebony.

I just finished my degree and I can honestly say I miss the classwork ... it helped me keep my day very structured, now it's all just a hot mess. I am trying to keep my life organized and in line; but it's a struggle. Those classes will go fast and you both will be done before you know it ... enjoy the journey.

I've only finished one Disney vacation scrapbook ... maybe I will finally get my 2016 book done. lol !! I just know me I am going to be distracted the next few weeks with the Olympics on .... I won't get anything done. ;)

I have been a little absent the last few days ... I had a recheck at my oncologist (everything is looking good), but I am still getting B12 injections and they are pretty rough for me. It takes about four days to bounce back, I just feel real sleepy and achy. But hopefully by Sunday I will be back to my normal self. Does give me a good excuse to hide in my home office and scrapbook until I am feeilng better.

Melissa (@honeybee), I am glad you are in the clear, I am sad you are feeling rough, but delighted you have an excuse to scrap :)

So, Wafflers!, how many of you are watching the Olympics. How do you feel about the opening ceremonies? (I love all of them every year!) What is your favourite part of the ceremonies? What is your favourite sport to watch? Have you ever been to any of the places the various sports are being held.

I watched a little of the opening ceremonies. I love the contraptions they built to hold the flames! Genius! I'm not sure what my favorite sport is. Maybe figure skating? We tend to watch whatever they have going on in primetime. I have never been to any part of Italy (hubby has!) but I want to go, especially for the art.

Been doing research for the last couple of days and need to do more. I have a paper coming up and have only found 1 good source. Maybe my topic is too niche? It shouldn't be, in my opinion, but oh well.

Hope you all are having a great weekend! <3

I woke up feeling much better today. Actually enough to get back into my housecleaning schedule this upcoming week.

I <3'd the opening ceremonies .... my two favorite moments is when they came out in those Armani suits in the red, green, and white ... and of course the paint tubes with the sheer material coming down looking like dripping paint. The ceremony was really well done this year and I also enjoyed how they hosted it from three different locations for the Olympian walk.

My hubby and I ... our favorite sport ......curling. lol !!! We're obsessed.

We are gearing up for the Superbowl! I stopped and got two pizzas at Aldi and some snacks. Son Steven and Nessa got chips and drinks and will be over a little later. We will have such a nice day! I have plans to text my friend, Pam, from time to time and say things like "Nice Pass!" "Wow, what a run!" "Oh Good, First Down :)"

It will be awesome...

@AJsRandom Ane dear, I too love figure skiing, I liked that it was one of the first sports at the event, and I'm looking forward to seeing their performances at the closing ceremony.

@honeybee Melissa curling is one of the sports that I really enjoy, a shame that some of the matches are schedule at the same time as figure skating, I'll have to figure out how I can watch both without missing the most important parts.

I've really enjoyed the event coverage so far. Yesterday I had a mild migraine and couldn't sit still at the computer, so I made myself a cup of orange blossom tea, grabbed my knitted blanket, and settled into the most comfortable seat in the living room to watch the Olympics. I thought my head would hurt even more, but on the contrary, I think being relaxed actually helped. Today I plan to scrap some pages, or at least the most important one.
You all have wonderful day! <3

Good morning and happy Monday!

Lynnie, I don't think I've turned on my TV in the past two weeks. I completely forgot about the Olympics starting! I will have to go online and look for opening day footage! I always enjoy seeing all the uniforms from the different countries!

Melissa, would LOVE to see your finished Disney album.

Ane, good luck with your last handful of classes. Are you going to have a big graduation party to celebrate when you finish this awesome achievement?

I managed to get a couple of layouts completed over the weekend, so I was happy about that. I so enjoy looking at our photos and reliving the happy memories. Some of my weekend was spent helping our adult daughter. I gave her my old car when I got a new one a couple of years ago. She has driven that poor car into the ground and Randy told her it wasn't safe to drive. So it's now in the shop and needed wheels to get to work. We're leaving for a two-week vacation to celebrate our wedding anniversary, so I told her she could drive my car. Within the first 24 hours, a warning light came on in my car, and now THAT one is going into the shop today (but it's just a sensor that needs replaced). I told her that whereas King Midas had the golden touch, she apparently has the gift of causing car repairs! LOL!!!!

I'm very much looking forward to our trip and going to where it will be warmer. I'll be back online in a couple of weeks!

And just a reminder to check out @A-M Anne-Marie's Slow Scrap - she is doing some fun pages:

I am busy creating a record of consecutive posts, haha!

Watching the skating brings back memories of when I was little and skated competitively. I was the girl to beat in those days. Sadly, we moved and there were no rinks close by and I didn't continue.

Does anyone else do any of the sports that they watch in the Olympics?
