Hi Sherri. So happy to see you, and it was such a pleasure having Alexis on the Zoom the other day! <3

Sherri!!! It's so wonderful to see you here again. I'm glad you're able to chat a bit. Happy that some friends are able to stop by and bring you nourishment and love. Sending ours vicariously. Hope you heal quickly and you feel healthy and HEARTY soon.

Lynnie, so sorry you're feeling so under the weather. Icky. Bummer about your walking record, but you need to take care of yourself.

Thieves are getting so brazen, Shana! Everywhere! It's just horrible. And they don't care "because it's covered by insurance". Well, so what?!? Then the rest of us have to pay for it by rising costs! And what if they didn't have insurance? And what about deductibles? Grrrrr!!! People have no respect for others anymore. Sorry. Just Grrrrr!!!

Have a Great HUMPday!

Sherri! Glad to see you up and at 'em! I pray for your continued recovery.

Lynnie, I echo the others- you take care of you, and I hope you get well soon!

Karen, you are welcome to take as much of my heat as you want! I live near St. Louis and the temps for the last few days (not counting humidity) have averaged 95. I wouldn't mind so much if it was dry heat, but alas, it is not.

I am bumping along ok! The alternator on my car is dying, so I had friends take me to and from the dentist (no cavities!) today. I hope we get the part in soon- I don't mind being at home but not being able to get out when/if I need to is not fun.

So nice to hear from you Sherri! Glad you are home recovering. Hugs.

We've had a few house showings but no offer yet so still hoping for a sale soon. Two showings tomorrow so, fingers crossed.

I wrenched my wrist somehow today (it sure doesn't take much but no idea how I did it). I have a tensor wrist band on it and will have to be careful about how I use it for a few days. Luckily my hubs is around to help with little things, like opening something with the can opener or twisting a cap off something. I couldn't open the sealed bag of coffee. The injury is such a little thing but so irksome. I've had tendonitis for years, from my days of typing for hours, which left me susceptible to strain. It doesn't act up often but, like today, just randomly.

I'm going to go watch the last two shows of Nancy Drew now.

Morning everyone, we had a terrible storm come through last night. Leaves blowing & branches snapping off trees and of course we live in the middle of the block right in front of the sewer drain...uggg we got everything streaming here. We cleaned up loads of leaves & branches for over an hour to clean the drain and as we got it clean more continued to flow. Then the hail started, golf size and now I have dents all in my cladding on the house, dents on the car and it looks like a tornado went through my flower beds. We just worked for 2 weeks on the yard to clean up from our foundation issues, now this!

I heard storms blew trough Michigan & Ohio too, climate change is just beginning! :(

Anyways, on a better note, it is Friday and the end of another week. Just 15 days of work left, happy dance!

Have a great day everyone!

Wow, Karen, that is crazy! The heat dome over the Midwest US went away last night and it rained today. We sure needed that rain since it hasn't rained here for over 10 days.

I find myself at home today, not doing very much. Maybe I'll scrap today, maybe I won't. I'm not really sure what to do on a day when I didn't go shopping as usual. A lot of time to kill until tomorrow, LOL!

I hope everyone is having a great weekend! Take care!

Karen - that is crazy about the damage from the hail.

Ane - enjoy your quiet day.

I'll head to the dog park in a few hours before the heat ramps up. Then I can stay indoors for the day except for taking the dogs out in the yard. I can't wait for summer to be over, I'm sick of the heat. I want to read some of my bookclub choice, The Couple at No 9. The due date is 4 days so want to finish it.

Hi everyone.

‘’sorry about the hail damage karen.

‘’my steristripes came off all my various surgery incisions today, 4, in all, I’m pretty bruised and they look really knarly. I hope to keep healing, and having the bruises fade away. The cardiac device clinic called and told me the the first remote interrogation went through fine and it showed I was being paced 98% of the time to get my heart beating to 60 beats per minute. Confirms how badly I needed the pacing with the ICD.

‘’Alexis hurt her lower back somehow, maybe a disk or something, sShe is in so much pain. It hurts to see her like this.

the kids dad had a deer hit the work truck last Friday, deployed the airbags and everything. Neither guy was hurt but the deer died. They had to get the work truck fixed and work on the weekend to make up for it.

‘’bunnies are mad. At us today as we changed the sheet on their bed. Two upset fluff balls.

Sherri, I'm so glad you're healing. Wow! Amazing that they can tell all of that stuff remotely. Such a Blessing that you're still here with us and the surgery was successful. I'm so sorry Alexis hurt her back. It always hurts us so much when our kids hurt. Too bad about the truck, but glad the guys weren't hurt. Thank goodness for airbags. Can't help but giggle about "two upset fluff balls"

Have a great day all. Prayers for the southeast! AGAIN!

Welcome back Sherri, happy to hear you are doing better everyday. Give Alexis hugs, hope she feels better soon.

It is great to hear from you all. It sounds as though we have all had stuff going on.

Sherri, I am so glad to see you posting here. Please tell Alexis that we are all here for her and thinking about her, and I certainly have some prayers heading her way. The bruises will fade. Too bad about the deer, and hopefully, the bunnies will be over their snit soon!

Rae, I know what you mean about a 'small' injury really making things difficult. I hurt my shoulder some years back and couldn't do anything.

Karen, that hail sounds like something else!

I am STILL sick, but on the mend. I finally went to the doctor and he said it looks as though I have a bacterial infection in my lungs. They gave me some antibiotics and some pills (like pearls) for the cough. They are the first thing that has worked. (Well, except for Ribena and Grand Marnier, which made him laugh! He said to keep that up!) My voice is pretty raspy, but other than that, I am doing much better.

Katherine reminded me about posting the pic of the Zoom. Thank heavens she did, I had forgotten about it. Here we go.

Lynnie, thanks for the Zoom pic! Sorry to hear you're still under the weather. We're seeing a spike of Covid cases again. Oy vey. I'm hoping that we don't have to go back to the restrictions and quarantines. I don't think I'll ever be able to convince my hubby to wear a mask again (unless it's a Batman mask).

Can't believe we're at the end of August already. I've been wrapping up summer activities and prepping for fall events. Of course, Mother Nature still has the furnace on full blast here. Hoping to take the family to the local sunflower field for our annual photo shoot, but only if we can go before it hits triple digit temperatures.

Taking the girl child dress shopping after work today. We have two weddings coming up in the next few weeks. I told her I'd get her one new outfit to wear to both weddings. One is a family wedding on Randy's side, the other is for my nephew in another state... so she doesn't have to worry about being seen in the same dress by the same people, oh gasp. LOL. Yeah... I'm wearing the same dress to all the weddings this season, regardless of who sees me! LOl!

Hope everyone has a great rest of your week / weekend!

Have to admit the rise of COVID is spooking me about my planned air travel in October...
Take care everyone.

Lynnie, thankyou for sharing that Zoom photo. So nice to see all those lovely faces. Hope your raspy voice goes away soon and that you are back to good health.

My August was a busy month so I have not been popping in here very much. Maybe September which started today will be a little less busy.

Oh Lynnie, I hope you feel better soon! Thanks for the Zoom photo! :)

Shana, I too would wear the same dress to all the weddings in a season, LOL! You are not alone!

Anne-Marie, I'm glad you are able to pop in here now and then, and I'm hoping you have a less busy September.

Tomorrow we are hosting an outdoor get-together, and we've been spending the last few days tidying up our yard for it. Especially today. We're not done and we may not get it all done because we have things to do inside too. Eren will be home sometime this long weekend. I really hope it's sooner rather than later. I miss my buddy!

Besides the cookout, we don't have a lot of plans for the weekend, just good times and good food for the poor college student who has to endure non-home-cooked meals.

I am in the middle of backing up all my folders to an external drive and making sure all is current. I do regular backups, but my son is coming tomorrow to work on my RAID system. I have a NAS with two 12TB drives; one is a mirror of the other, and it failed. I have two new 12 TB drives, and we are changing the system around a bit; hopefully, it will speed things up, and we can fix the failed mirror drive. Anyway, I have to have a pristine backup to do that. I used to have a cloud backup, but it slowed my system down so much I couldn't use it. I hope to set something up again after the NAS drives are fixed.

I am still under the weather. I have completed the antibiotics, and it has made an enormous difference, but I am still feeling a little raspy. Hopefully, that will go away soon.

I am working on organizing my scrap room, and loving the new set up. I backup on hard drives as well. Hopefully it will inspire me to scrap more, I need to work on the Europe book.

Lynnie, I know what you mean, I have had a raspy voice for aa few years now and finally my allergy specialist refered me to an ears, nose & throat specialst and just had my appointment. He notices that I have nodules on my tonsils (not cancerous) but unfortunately it is not his specialty so I am waiting again for an appointment in April 2024 for a voice specialist...how crazy is that!

Are you doing something special for Labour Day? We are heading to our weekly car show today and tomorrow I am going to visit family for my younger brother's birthday. We have to keep the family get-togethers going since Mom was always the hostess with the mostest!

Until next time, take care everyone.

Well, fortunately, everything is backed up. My son had to reset everything and start from scratch on my NAS system. We have set up a new kind of RAID so I can completely lose a drive, and everything will be fine. He will also set up a virtual drive so I can use my system everywhere. I could do that anyway, but it will be easier with a virtual drive.

I am staying home today. I usually babysit, but Steven is home and is with the children. I am glad, I have three days off in a row, which I am loving.Today, I choose to scrap :)

Happy Tuesday, all! I came into work extra early... even stopped and picked up doughnuts. I'm hosting a two-day financial workshop for about two dozen staff today and tomorrow. Just waiting on the instructor to arrive.

No luck with the dress shopping for the girl child. The stores had two categories of dresses... old prairie town or slutty Barbie. There was nothing in between. Ugh. But we still have time.

We did get our annual sunflower photoshoot in this past weekend, and Morgan brought her new boyfriend for us to meet. He seemed quite nice. The rest of the long weekend was spent doing small house chores, scrapping, and watching k-dramas. Ha. It was nice to have a quiet weekend. This week will be busy but I'm home every night. Next week is the Kansas State Fair and Randy has an event in Nebraska. So that will keep us both on the road.

Hope everyone has a great day.

It's a lovely Wednesday here in So Cal. It is a bit grey with clouds poking through, but not overwhelmingly hot. It is in the 70s (F) and my perfect temperature.

I am binge-watching British detective shows, my favourite. One of the things I notice when I am scrapping and watching simultaneously is that I can watch the same episode several times, and I still may not know what is going on. I think I just like the company.

I got so many scrapping pages uploaded yesterday that I hit my limit. I had such a lovely time. Today, I have a few things I have to do so I won't be scrapping all day. I hope my son makes it by to work on my Network-Attached Storage device. I felt so secure with it online, and now it is not. When I get it back, I am setting up an online backup, and Son Steven will set up a virtual drive so I can access my massive collection of photos and scrapbook kits from everywhere!

Big hugs to everyone.

Hey there everyone! I'm just bumping along, not accomplishing much today. I had about 5.5 hours of sleep last night and I'm really feeling it. I may get some scrapping done, but it's hard since hubby is home sick too. He slept worse than I did, so we're a real pair!

My biggest things happening this week are both on Saturday. I'm getting out for a day of crafting then at night we're going to see Guns & Roses. Should be fun! :)

my life has been on fire since august started, and i would just like it to. stop doing that. my partner of almost 8 years decided he didn't think that he could be what i needed, and so in spite of there still being a lot of love there, we called it quits. he will still watch my yorkies when i go to the states, and says i can still count on him if i need something, but it's really not the same, and i am really not ok. i was pretty sure about what was going to happen and now it's going to be none of the things i thought i was building over the course of the last eight years.

work is also an unmitigated disaster, i'm being saddled with 30% more work that i somehow need to work into my current 100% except that i have 4 days of OT i've been carrying with me for over 2 years because 100% is never enough, i threw a tanty, they're trying to help me 'find solutions' but the nuts and bolts is that we have too many people who haven't got a detail oriented bone in their body and no amount of me being obsessive compulsive can fix that for them. i can make all the lists i want to, but if the people handing me projects don't have their ducks in a row, or even in the same gat dang pond... well.

only good news i have, i got a baker's best nom, voting closes 9/9

Lynnie, happy you back in action. I have also scrapped a few Europe pages, so many more to go...

Ane, sorry that you & hubby are still sick. I am beginning to have trobles sleeping as well, 5 hours a night is me too!

Sylvie, so sorry to hear of your split after such a long time together. Your work sounds as if they need a new manager! Congrats on Baker's Best, cute layout of your pup.

Went to Costco tonight, does anyone spend less than $250 a visit? I only bought a few things and my bill was $260 with only 1 pack of chicken& black bean murger patties, the rest was granola bars, fruit, veggies and Corona non-alcohol beer for hubby, geez prices are high!

Ten days and counting...happy dance coming soon!

Ane, I hope you are feeling better soon!

Sylfie, your job is always this way!! It is time you found a company that appreciates you. I am so sorry about your relationship ending. Hopefully, someone will show up who is perfect, and you can start treating yourself well! Congrats on the BB.

Karen, glad you are getting some scrapping done - and shopping. I just shopped at Costco today - $359!! It will last us the better part of two weeks for both of us, and with what we had leftover from last month, it will get us through a month, I think.

Me - heading out to babysit in the morning. I need a good night's sleep.

Rae, I was tickled to see a mention of Kamloops in our local paper...not so sure that's the kind of notoriety you'd want: a realtor was busted on camera glugging milk from the refrigerator of a house he was showing before the clients showed up. Hope it wasn't your house!!

Lynnie, we did a Costco run yesterday, too. In the $400 range. Yikes. But still big savings over shopping at the grocery store.

Karen and Lynnie, thanks for your concern. I think I'm caught up on sleep now, after 10.5 hours last night and 2 today, LOL. Hubby has stayed at work today and he looked a lot better by yesterday evening.

Karen, it is hard to keep costs down when shopping at Costco/Sam's Club (Sam's is closer, so that's where we go). Sometimes we need a lot of stuff and sometimes we need just a few things, but generally, yeah, it's a lot.

Sylfie, I've never worked anywhere long term, and not for almost 30 years. But that is a horrible work environment! I'm with Lynnie--it may be time for a new job. They say the best time to look for a job is while you have one. And wow, 8 years with your partner, only to call it quits. That just sucks--I'm so sorry that happened to you. <3

I am babysitting today and having a lovely time. Scarlett has slept most of the morning. I walked Bruce to and from school and he has been a delight the whole day. It is days like this I wish I lived here so I could be with them 24/7. I would love to be able to help with my grandchildren in England, too, though. I know my DIL is having a rough time being with the kids all day and all evening with everything else she does. James does his best, but he works a lot, too. I am sure they both need a break. It is particularly difficult because their eldest is on the spectrum and has HUGE meltdowns that are loud and disruptive. If I were there, I think I could help a lot.

I am feeling a little down tonight. This morning I drove to our nearest larger town to do some shopping and on the way home if I have been five minutes earlier I could have been part of a fatal car accident. When I came upon the stopped traffic of the accident I was the fourth car back. I then had to back-track and go via some dirt road to get home which was a little scary as there were a lot of trucks travelling in the opposite direction on a narrow road.

For those who pray - please pray for the ones injured and the ones grieving the loss of a loved one. It was a head on collision with one car having travelled to the wrong side of the road in a place where overtaking was illegal.

Lynnie, I like to have the TV on for company when I scrapbook, too. Although, I realize I can look back at a layout I did and I can usually tell you the show or movie I was watching when I was making the layout! LOL!

Ane, hope you get to feeling better soon and get some nice restful nights of sleep.

Sylfie, so sorry to hear that your personal and work life are not where you want them to be. I hope that you’re able to heal and move forward and find something / someone who can be what you need. Hugs.

Karen, I think it’s a law that you must spend a minimum amount to even step foot inside those big discount stores. We have a Sam’s Club in our community, and I’ve never gotten out of there for under $100 even when we go to pick up “one thing.”

Glee, that is horrible and disgusting to know that a realtor would do that to someone. Yuck. I would have to throw out all my groceries. Ick ick ick.

Anne-Marie, I’m glad that you weren’t any earlier and avoided being involved in that horrible accident. That is so awful. Sending you a hug. I’m sure you felt pretty shaken up (I know I would).

This week we finally had relief from our barrage of triple digit temperatures and it’s been quite lovely out. I coordinated a financial workshop, but it was located at my office, so I didn’t have to travel this week. Our facilitator was fun, but it still was long days. Hubby had to give his deposition regarding his accident (our insurance isn’t paying what they should so we’re going to court), and so he’s pretty stressed about that. He didn’t think the deposition went well, but at least that part is over.

All last month, I had signed hubby and I up for a pottery class, and yesterday was the day that we returned to the studio to glaze our projects. We were there for six full hours. Oy vey. My body is no longer made to stand on concrete for that length of time, and I’m feeling very creaky this morning. But everything was glazed, and we do the raku firing tomorrow afternoon. So that should be fun. We’ll see what turns out.

I haven’t had a moment to do any scrapbooking this week, so I hope to be able to do some of that today after my hair appointment. I won’t have much time this weekend. After the raku firing, we’ll be heading down to the state fair (about three hours away). One of our friends is showing hogs… this is her last year and her show time is like 8 a.m. on Sunday morning. Then we have concert tickets to a comedian that evening. My company’s state fair safety demo kicks off Monday morning. So I will make sure everything is set up correctly for that and then I’ll come back late that afternoon. I just hope the weather holds out and stays this nice!
