I won't be able to be there on Sunday as I am with my daughter and her family and will be driving back to her home in Arizona from California during that time. Wish I could be there.

Thanks for setting up the Zoom calls, Lynnie. I obviously missed the notice on the Sunday call, but will do my best to join the Wednesday call.

This weekend was super packed for us... at times, we were triple booked and we really had to pick and chose what we were going to accomplish and which friends we were going to see. It was a great weekend, lots of miles driven, and now I'm in desperate need of a nap. Ha. Think my coworkers would notice if I took a snooze on my desk? LOL! Probably so. Better keep working.

Have a great Monday, all!

I'm sorry I missed the Zoom yesterday too. I didn't know until I logged into my computer Sunday evening, so I'm glad there's another Wednesday afternoon! Thanks for setting these up, Lynnie!

We had a fun weekend watching drum corps battle it out at Lucas Oil stadium in Indy. We're lucky to be only 3.5 hours away, so it is an easy trip. Those plastic seats get pretty hard though, especially after 2 days of sitting in them!

This week is going to be packed! Eren moves into their dorm Thursday morning, and of course hubby and I are helping. Luckily they'll be only a 30-minute drive away, so if something comes up, I can be over there or they can come to us quickly. But first we have to go through all the stuff they brought home from freshman year and decide what's going to go and what's going to stay. Should be fun, ha ha!

Have a great Monday, everyone! :)

I didn't see the earlier zoon either; hopefully I will remember tomorrow's!

Oh my mom would have loved to have been the caregiver for either or both of my keiki back in the day. She did come of course and stayed for at least a month, probably more like 6wks, when each was born. Though that was nice, I was on maternity leave so later would have been better. But you canna tell a gramma don't come yet!! She had my first born in the bath in the kitchen sink w/in hours of meeting him.
My MIL on the other hand came at 3mos and said, oh i'm afraid to even pick him up. (what the heck?) yeah, that pretty much says it all.
hope to face time w you all manana....

Hi ladies. I'll miss the upcoming zoom call, we are so busy with prepping and staging the house. The listing goes up tonight and we are hoping for some showings this week. As soon as we get a good offer we'll hop on a plane and head to Calgary. We'll stay there for a week or two until we find a home and do the paperwork. Fingers crossed we get a good offer. There are 4 homes that are my top picks and I'd be happy with any of them but how long they stay on the market, who knows. So, the sooner this sells, the better. Trying to think positive. It is so stressful. Wish us luck.

zoom starting now. You can join any time.

another meeting is scheduled, hopefully, more folks can make it with a slightly longer warning :)

It was lovely seeing everyone today. If anyone wants to 'friend' Alexis on Facebook, her name is Alexis Mlh. She is a pretty awesome young woman :) if you want to 'friend' me, you can find me under Lynnette Parsonage Siler.

The family called for a beach day, and that happens rarely these days. It was a good one. Sorry to have missed y'all, but know you had fun. Next time.

Thanks everyone, I slept through the zoom, need to report to the hospital at 5 am tomorrow (Friday) that means leave home at 3 am ick.

I bet you all had a great time on zoom, sorry to have missed it. We were showing the house but no offer, they want a bigger, newer home. Yikes...our home is 3400 SQ F with 5 bedrooms. How much bigger do they need? Must have a big family. Sales out here are almost non-existent b/c of the economy and interest rates so I have a feeling that we aren't going to make a sale this fall. It makes me very sad to have to stay here with the terrible medical but if we don't sell, we can't move. I have to leave it up to fate and prayers, if it's meant to happen it will.

The air quality with the wildfires is really bad so I am stuck in the house most of the time except for going up to the hospital. Poor Darrell had a third operation last night (fistula/crohn's disease). This is the third one this summer. I think I'll scrap later this afternoon if my headache goes away.

Hope you all have a great day.

Thanks again, Lynnie, for setting up the Zoom call. I am glad it was Wednesday not Thursday. On Thursday, we spent all day moving Eren into their dorm at their new school (St. Louis University). It is a huge campus--I walked over 4 miles that day! They are settled in and attending various welcome events. They are close enough to come home and see their cat whenever they want. I count myself lucky that they are so close. :)

How are all your weekends going? Any news on Sherri's surgery? I am anxious to see how she and Alexis are getting on.

Ane, glad that Erin is closer to you and I think they would also be happy to see FAMILY and the cats (makes life at school easier). My kids went to schools within our city so thankful for that.

Sherri's surgery sounds like it went amazing, she already home! Alexis has posted this 10 hours ago.

From Alexis Mlh's FB page" Update 3: After a very successful surgery, I got to bring mom home today!!!

"She was discharged from the hospital this afternoon, and will be continuing her recovery at home for the next 6 weeks or so. The biggest challenge so far has been trying to manage her pain to gain better control of it. She especially didn’t expect her new ICD/pacemaker implant to hurt this bad.
Although not yet in her own bed (she’s sleeping in the recliner, which is common following this type of surgery), she’s very glad to be back home. The next few weeks will be crucial, and we are hoping she will be able to heal without any infection or complications of any kind.
In the meantime, since she now has a pacemaker that will not allow her heart to stay below 60 beats per minute, her Nadolol dose (beta blocker/heart medication) was doubled. The hope is that this dose increase, combined with the pacing from her new device, will provide greater protection against the type of highly life-threatening arrhythmias she has been experiencing from our rare, genetic sudden death syndrome heart condition. She will also continue to be on another medication that is sometimes used to help Long QT patients (Spironolactone).
Then, if mom were to still have an episode of a life-threatening arrhythmia despite all of these preventative treatments, she has the defibrillator function of her new ICD (as a backup) that should be able to shock her heart back into a life-sustaining/normal rhythm to keep her alive. She has multiple layers of protection that will hopefully work to both keep her around for a long time yet, and also enable her to live her life as much as she can. Although it isn’t an easy journey, this surgery is her best option to be able to truly live."

I am so happy for them and continue to pray for her full recovery!

Getting a little cooler weather lately, summer's end is bittersweet. We have our last car show tonight, the "British" cars so I am excited just hoping there will be no rain. The smoke is lingering here as well so probably will have to mask up outside. If you don't know, NWT and BC has some tragic firs ongoing right now. Alot of communities beinn evacuated, our province is providing temporary shelter to about 2300 folks. I am hoping these devastating fires will subside soon so no more homes and forest is lost.

Lynnie, thinking of you since I heard of the tropical storm heading your way, hope you are safe!

Have a wonderful Sunday everyone!

I had a lovely time on the zoom...

I am super sick at present. I have a cough that won't quit, and I am exhausted. The tropical storm hit today, but it was not too bad here. There was also a decent earthquake up by my brother's home, so they had both the storm AND the quake. I told him to repent; the end is nigh! He just laughed at me :)

Lynnie, glad to hear all good for you & brother on the storm front, hope you are well soon!
Hi ho,Hi ho...it is off to work I go. It is much easier these days with only 21 days of work left.

Have a great day everyone!

Happy Monday, all! It is HOT! Triple digits. It was 118 on Saturday when we were heading to a suprise party. The party was supposed to include a bon fire. Thankfully, they opted to not light the fire. Good grief!

I'm in training all week in Wichita, KS, but I have my favorite instructor out of Florida facilitating the courses. He's incredibly knowledgeable, but he's able to make anything topic a lot of fun. So i'm looking forward to this week. And the fact that we'll be inside where it's cool is a plus! Ha!

Hope everyone has a great week! :)

I hope everyone is doing well! I am still sick. I have been coughing for days and days. I can't wait until this is done. Before it started, I had gone 315 days walking five miles a day or more, through rain or shine, no matter how I felt. I walked for the first few days of being sick but finally acknowledged that I needed the rest and gave up my walking streak. I will start again when I am not coughing as much. At present, I am so tired from coughing that I count think I can walk.

And having whined, I think about Sherri! Oh, my goodness. We need to get her well and back here with us. I miss her, don't you? I wish she could make our last call, but it was lovely to hear about her from Alexis. Alexis' updates were all so beautifully written and so filled with detail. She is a gifted writer, that one!

I haven't been scrapping much lately. Babysitting four days a week has really taken it out of me, and in between, I have so much other stuff. This week, I am babysitting Thursday, Friday, Saturday (and yesterday). The difference is that Nessa is off on a Bachelorette party with her cousins. She will be in Las Vegas. I think she is looking forward to the break. I will be here with Steven, and we are on 24/7 duty. This means I don't get off at 8 pm, I have to keep going through the night with a 3-month-old baby, well almost four. I am going to need a holiday when I get back home haha!

Today and tomorrow, my goal is to rest!

Lynnie, hope you feel better soon!

We had quite a shock this morning in my class. One of my attendees had his pick up tires stolen! Egads! His truck was jacked up and all four tires were GONE! The hotel had video footage where you could see the truck being lifted up around 3 a.m., but no people were visible. It was a company truck and insured, so I called my nephew who lives locally to take him down to the tire shop for new wheels and tires. And, of course, it's still triple digits out there. So my attendee will have new tires by this afternoon, but still... I feel awful for him.

Hopefully we won't have any more excitement this week.

Wos Shana, the crooks are getting more brazen than ever. We have had a rash on the Catlyct convertors here in my home town. I wish these people would get a real job and contribute to society!

Lynnie, I feel for you , so sorry you are still sick. HUGS!

Good news, I saw on FB that Sherri is making posts which I take as a good sign that she is doing well after such a complicated surgery! I hope she makes a full recovery soon so she can Zoom with us!

Sure looks like our summer is fading, cold and partially rainy today...wehre is the sunshine and warmth for the rest of August??? Please send some our way.

I’m sleeping odd hours here and there, ca n never quite get comfort able in the recliner or my bed. Today we took off the big clunky thick bandaides. And went down to just steri-strips. I have the new device planted right side chest, and then three incisions removing my old device and leads. And I have some real skin irritation on my back from the aed pad tearing my skin when it was removed.
had a friend drop off supper last night which was great, and another stop by to say hi today, and another two with Covid staying far away.

I feel week, frail, but I’ll improve in strength soon enough.
‘’Lynnie take care of yourself. ‘’

rae there was a segment on global news today about how rare doctors are taking new patients in alberta.

‘’and spreading of news having Facebook ban Canadian news sucks. Just saying

Sherri, so GLAD to see you on the forum so soon. I am sending you BIG HUGS for a speedy recovery!

Canadian news blocked on FB...money grab again!
