Holiday Cranberry Jalepeno Cream Cheese Dip

12-ounces fresh cranberries
1 1/4 c white sugar
1/4 c cilantro chopped
1/4 c green onions chopped
1 or 2 jalapeno peppers seeded and chopped
2 tbsp lemon or lime juice
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp ground cumin
16 oz cream cheese softened
Crackers for serving

Chop cranberries with a food chopper.
Chop green onion, jalapenos and cilantro.
In medium sized bowl, add chopped cranberries, green onion, cilantro,
and jalapenos.
Add sugar, salt, lime juice, and cumin and stir gently.
Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight.
Take mixture out of refrigerator and stir. Strain out all liquid using a small holed colander.
Whip softened cream cheese with some of the strained liquid from the cranberry mixture with
a mixer until smooth (about 2 minutes).
Spread cream cheese over bottom of a pie plate.
Pour cranberry mixture over the cream cheese and keep in refrigerator until ready to serve.
Use a spoon to spread over crackers.
