This year we decided to do a hot air balloon for the children’s Day Parade. Dad helped with basic construction and we used the platform created for us by an engineer friend. Chicken wire was used for the shape of the balloon with it filled with lots of crunched newspaper. To decorate the balloon we used lots and lots of tissue carnations. I don’t think you can get them in colors anymore! Mom helped make the creations as well as everyone else we could talk into helping. Marty and Tim pulled the float with Beth and Eric in the balloon basket. We won 4th place most beautiful!
