Our trip to Hawaii was special in so many ways. Karen and I remembered the anniversary of the day we lost Chris, just two days before we scattered David’s ashes. We chose to remember them with joy. We etched Chris’s name in the sand and filled the lines with glitter. He would have loved it! We took the bear that contained David’s ashes everywhere that day. The weather was beautiful and I like to think that David was enjoying the sun with us. Later in the day, we went to see “Moana.” David would have loved that, too! We had seen the trailer together, but he did not live to see the release. I will never see Maui without thinking of David. If I didn’t know better, I would think the artist must have met David and based Maui on him. We are blessed to have had them both in our lives.
