Carla, thank you for your joy in my retirement, hasn't quite sunk in yet since I am using leave but I am sure it will soon. Your daughter looks radiant and that dress is perfect for her, lovely that you made the veil. Glad you showed us a sneak peek. My hubby has a bad back and whenever we go places that we will be walking alot he rents a mobility scooter. It would be ideal for you in Vegas so you can really enjoy all the festivities withought being in pain. I book ahead and often they will deliver to your hotel.

Karen, my youngest JUST suggested the very same thing yesterday! Your ears must have been burning! She even thought the hotel might have them. I'm going to call today and check. THANKS!

Carla, the bride and the dress are both gorgeous!!

Karen, happy retirement!!!!!

Lynnie, how did the baby shower go?

Ane, how cool that you also make T-shirts!!! We did some research of one of our groups and found out that our original name of our group from the 1960s was The Electric Farm Service Association. So now the members want to make vintage-looking 1960s tees with that name on them! HA! I told them to go for it!

I finally sorted through my pottery photos and created one page for the October buffet, so that will be posted Oct. 1. But I think I will create a couple more. I also went around the house to see what items could be packed away or donated to make room for new pieces I had made. Long story short… I have too much stuff! LOL!

Last week, our member services group had a really interesting working on using Artificial Intelligence as a tool for both graphics and text creation. I had been hesitant to use it at all, but after that workshop, I’ve been playing around with it some more. You still have to fact-check it and make sure everything is accurate. But I’ve been feeding it paragraphs of information I’ve already written and having it “proofread” it for me. You can also ask it to write funny poems, give it a word count, give it a style of voice or an age level, etc. We were using it in the workshop to have it take our articles that we’d written and then extrapolate social media blurbs or photo cutlines for us. I can see this being used for scrapbooking journaling, too! One of our members called it “a calculator for words.” LOL!

Saturday was spent at one of the nephew’s cross country meet. A storm came through so we had to wait a couple of hours for lightning to pass. But he did get to race. (Only one group didn’t get to race that day). This event had THOUSANDS of kids… 168 schools from 7 states. It was very cool, very chaotic, yet everyone seemed to know what was going on.

Yesterday, I stayed home (yay) and the plan was just to do chores and scrap. However, my washing machine had other plans. We watched a lot of YouTube videos and started the process of elimination of what could be wrong. So today after work, I need to go pick up parts and HOPEFULLY we can get our darn appliance working again. The machine is only a few years old, so I’m hoping we can get it fixed on our own without too much hassle. Fingers crossed.

Hey Carla, gorgeous dress, veil and daughter.

‘’you should hit Alexis up on advice for airport help and renting scooters and mobility aids and stuff. She’s done it in multiple airlines and cities and countries.
‘’Hi everyone else.

Carla, the dress is incredible. The wedding will be lovely.

Karen, I am so excited to see you on October 1st. I answered your email. Hopefully, we will have a nice long chat while hubby walks around Walmart.

Ane, I love making T-Shirts. I can't remember if I mentioned I did the ones Karen and I are wearing in my pinning page. I actually have a heat press, and I love it!

Rae, I hope everything comes out how you want it in the move. It feels like yesterday you moved there!

Sherri, I am glad you are up to a little posting :)

It is time to vote for Layout of the Week.<--link! I have a page on there, but please just vote for the one you like. I am not fussy about winning, but it is lovely when there is a nice turnout for voting.

The shower was amazing! The cake, cupcakes, and cookies were lovely. I will create a page on them. Nothing was as perfect as I wanted, but it never is.

Yesterday, I washed all the plates from the shower (they were the elegant plastic disposable ones, but I can never throw them away.), and I emptied the game folders (I make game folders so people have everything they need in one place and something to write on.). Then, I moved on to the High School reunion in three weeks. I am doing the name tags, so I got those well on the way. It is a lot more involved than creating a name tag, though. The school crest has changed since we graduated (this is actually the year after I graduated), and the digital version of the old crest is not available online. I had to recreate it, which was not easy. I created the attendee list (there were two sources, plus the updates of people who have sent in their money since I got the lists). Then I scanned in all the high school pics of the attendees and put them on the name tags; now I just have to print them, laminate them, and add the cords. The only other thing I have to do for that is add grommets to my largest backdrop. At the reunion, I will take pictures, then create a memory book and directory of the reunion. When the name tags are done, I will probably prep a bunch of pages for the book.

Today I am at my son's house. I unloaded the shower stuff from the car and put it into storage, did a bunch of dishes, and sterilized a bunch of bottles. Bruce, Baby, and Mum are home sick today, and it is Steven's day off. I will probably just go home soon now all the work is done.

I am busy a lot, but I realized yesterday that I was not very good at doing nothing :)

Carla, both the daughter and the dress are gorgeous! I hope you can find what you need to be comfortable at the wedding activities. :)

Sherri, glad to see you here for a little bit! :)

Shana, it's been a while since I made T- shirts! I sure could have used Lynnie's hot press. I had to fill the iron with water twice, LOL!

Lynnie, I try to vote for LOTW every week whether I have "skin in the game" or no. I have gotten a few honorable mentions lately as I won in July. But I will look for yours! :)

I survived the long weekend with a nap yesterday, but when I woke up from the nap, I had a migraine. It's still with me today, unfortunately. But I am powering through it since my doc won't prescribe me the 1 drug that works (conflict with some of my other meds). Maybe I'll scrap today. I tend to disconnect from everything when I scrap, LOL!

I get to have a CT scan this week too, though hubby has lost both of our sets of keys and will have to come home early from work to take me (thank goodness I had keys to one of our cars in my purse so he can still go to work). I am stuck at home again though.

Carla, when you get to the airport request a wheel chair. They take you from curb to gate. (I usually walk that one.) My tickets says wheel chair on it so I get to go on the plan with the first group with a companion (this trip my son came with me and my husband waiting for his boarding group). When the flight is over, they have a wheel chair waiting for you (or they tell you to stay seated and will call you when the wheel chairs get on the walkway) and they will take you to your connecting flight if you have one.
We rented a mobility scooter (sorry don't remember the name of the company) and they delivered it to our hotel guest services. Had no trouble using bus transportation to get to Universal Studios each day.

Thanks all for the wonderful words and GREAT suggestions. Sherri, I should have thought of asking Alexis. DUH! Thanks so much for the PM LilyAnn.
Game folders, Lynnie. Of course you do. You're so organized.
Good luck with the CT, Ane... Makes me shudder just to think about it. I cried through my ONLY one. Yeah, not good with closed spaces and really not good with staying STILL.

Happy Retirement, Karen! Kent and I are both retired and loving every minute of it!

Rae, hope all goes well with your retirement and that you keep good health.

Carla, how exciting to have a wedding in the family and she looks such a beautiful bride.

Sorry, I have not been around much lately but I have achieved completing a total of 7 challenges which is pretty good for me. My greeting cards at the local craft store are starting to sell, especially the birthday badge ones I have started to make which means I am home today busying making more.

As some of you have been looking for cookies...... starting next week I will be one again and am so looking forward to being part of the team. I have eased right back being active on the other two digi sites I have been involved with and am now making Ginger Scraps really be my forever digi home!

Yay! More than 1,000 posts! Yup... it's confirmed... we are a chatty bunch! LOL!

Anne-Marie, so happy that you're rejoining as a Cookie! That made my whole day!

My excitement this morning is that I'm getting the rock chips in my windshield repaired. Oy vey. It happened yesterday on my way home from work. I drive the interstate for a chunk of my commute, and the vehicle in front of me sent a rock flying toward my car. Sounded like a gunshot when it hit. Caused two tiny chips, but I want to take care of it before they have a chance to grow into cracks. Happily, we have one of those services that come to where we work and fix the chips in our parking lot!

This afternoon, I'm doing other exciting things like getting my tires rotated and balanced, picking up new hoses for our washing machine repair, and getting other supplies at the 9th circle of hell we call WalMart. Shudder shudder. I really dislike going there.

After I survive all that, I'm taking the girl child shopping for a better bra. We have a wedding this weekend and she's found a dress she loves. I asked her about what bra she was planning to wear with it since it has tiny straps. I about fell over when she said she wasn't going to wear a bra and was just going to wear pasties. Ha. Um... nooooooo. That may have worked when she was in high school and several bra sizes smaller. But now that she's in her mid-20s and has grown into her adult body, that's not going to fly. Especially for a family event.

Hubby has been on the girl child to budget her money better (she blows it on crap and dining out as soon as she gets her paycheck), and he was not happy with the fact that I'm "treating" her to the new dress, new shoes, and now a new bra. Until I reminded him that I'm doing this for US... making sure she's dressed in a manner that we're ALL happy with her appearance. After he had a moment to reflect on what she's chosen to wear at other events, he saw my wisdom and hasn't said a word since! LOL!!!! Besides, it's been years since I've taken her shopping for any type of clothes, so it will be fun. Fingers crossed we can find a bra that makes both of us happy and looks good under that dress!

Getting ready for my mini trip to California, so many things to do when you travel International even though USA is considered a sister country to Canada. We have to board our kitty as there is no one to watch her at home, most family members have dogs and my son is out of town the same time. She is a indoor home cat so she is not going to like it!

I re-arranged my scrap room and finally was able to set up my monitors on an arm I bought 2 years ago. I have a sit-stand desk and it is quite nice now that I have options, allows me to scrap longer without sitting for too long. I still have to clean out my cabinets and closet and hope to sell alot of my and Mom's scrap tools and supplies as I only do digital now.

I am off to do some banking, shopping and then a massage, hoping to be more relaxed. I haven't even been retired 1 week and am more busier than ever. Ha!

Shana, good luck with your shopping, I dislike our Walmart here too but there are few options for cheaper stores these days.

Anne-Marie, welcome back!

Lynnie, I am counting the days, can't wait to meet up!

Have a good day everyone.

Anne-Marie, I'm glad you're back! :)

Shana, does anyone like Wal-Mart? I avoid it like the plague. *shudder* But if that's what you've got, you go.

Karen, I'm glad you get to visit Lynnie! I'd love to swing that sometime too. Have lots of fun!

The most exciting thing happening with me is we got our car keys replaced yesterday, so now I can drive again, woo hoo! And I am an old pro at CT scans. LOL, name a type of medical scan and I've probably had it. I'm excited for next week because we're going to a Renaissance festival on the 7th. I haven't been to one in ages, and we even got costumes (from Amazon, because they come quick, but next year we hope to have artisan made ones). And we'll get to meet Eren's special friend (I don't know if we can call her a girlfriend yet).

Haha, Ane, I love things like that… love that you are the 1000th post :)

crazy day yesterday. I often walk with a friend on the phone. I was chatting with her while she was driving, then hung up when she got to Kaiser for a doc appt. She calls about an hour later to say she fell in the parking lot, was in emergency and they think her arm was broken. It turned out to be her shoulder. It is about a 45 min drive, but I went there, met her at the doctors, got her medication at the pharmacy, took her out for lunch, drove her home ( about an hour drive) in her car and took an Uber back to my car. Crazy day. She is eternally grateful, but anyone would do that for a friend. Glad I had a day off!

Interesting reading about your AI experience Shana, I am in two minds about where it is going and the impact on intellectual and artistic property but in the meantime I am having so much fun playing with AI images generated from my own photos...it is win win, I get to AI play then scrap the results (those that I like anyway:)) I havent tried the word AI yet but have just come from our art gallery where I have been reading the descriptions, the inspirations etc on the art pieces and wondering if they have been AI generated.

Woohoo Ane, 1000th post!!! In my old digi home, I was very into celebrating the numbers...Lynnie would remember that.

I am busy a lot, but I realized yesterday that I was not very good at doing nothing :)
Youve only just realised Lynnie??? i could have told you that many years ago. And spell check doesnt like realised I realised.

Lynnie, I try to vote for LOTW every week whether I have "skin in the game" or no. I have gotten a few honorable mentions lately as I won in July. But I will look for yours! :).
As a cookie, I nominate a Bakers Best every week so when they make it to the LOTW poll, I always vote for the one I nominated. Dont forget, ladies, anyone can nominate a Bakers Best not just the cookies. We don't see every LO that is uploaded and we can only nominate one per week so often LOs of wonderful merit miss out on getting a nomination.

Lynnie you are an awesome friend.

i started out for small walks twice this week without a walker, my son right by my side guiding, or steadying, or keeping me from falling. They were both nice fall days and it seemed so nice to be a little independent without my walker. Although I’d most likely be able to go further with it. Beautiful fall afternoons, although we have had frost warnings already. I can’t believe October is almost here.

How wonderful for you SHERRI!!! That must have felt good. Glad Austin is there for you too.

We've got lots of "FALL" going on here too. The leaves are heading into full color mode now. I love it.

I'm an Adobe Photoshop user, and I update to version 25 this week. And wow... they've added an generative AI filter. I worked through the initial tutorial and my jaw was on the floor. Honestly, I can't wait to start playing with it (like you... with my OWN photos). :)

I survived the shopping experience with the girl child yesterday. I later realized that the reason she wanted to get the stick on pasties and not buy a bra was because she knew she had gained weight and was embarrassed to go bra shopping. She thought we weren't going to be able to find a bra that was going to fit her. When we found several bras that fit her beautifully, and I gave her a speech that women's clothing sizes were pure fabrication and not pay attention to the number on the tag but to the fit, she realized how much better she felt and looked. The sweet sales associate also gave us a tip about downloading the store's app to save some $$$, and they threw in a really nice tote bag. So it was an extremely positive experience. AND... to make life even better, sweet hubby went to Walmart for me. So I didn't even have to do that! It was a good day. :) And now, it's Friday. I'm have about three hours of back-to-back meetings, but it IS National Coffee Day.... so hopefully someone will bring caffeine. :) Have a great day, everyone!

Yay! More than 1,000 posts! Yup... it's confirmed... we are a chatty bunch! LOL!

Funny story - I was at DSP before it closed and we had a long-running thread called the "Granny Thread." When it hit one MILLION posts, it crashed the site :) Yes, our chatterbox friends BROKE the internet :) After that, we kept an eye on the thread and started a new one when it got too big :) It took a few days to sort out, though. We were in the naughty corner for a while.

Our thread has this many posts - I have restarted a new one each year. At the beginning, it was monthly, not sure why I did it that way. I only started posting pages here full-time in September 2017. I was homeless for a while after DSP closed. I am so glad I found my forever scrapping home here. There is no other site like it.

We also had a limerick thing going on at DSP. Here's one I composed about our Granny Thread getting lopped

Sometimes we become too loquacious
and Margie says "Oh My Good Gracious"
She runs for her choppers
Proceeds then to lop us
Removing our posts perspicacious!!

Go Wafflers!! Congrats on all those posts. Great job!! And Lynnie, I agree about GS, so glad I found it after grieving for 18 months following DSP closure and so glad you arrived here too.

Oh my goodness, the limericks. We would have live chats and occasionally they were all done in limericks. It was so funny. We had a thread called QB-HOO (Queen Bee Hall Of Odes) where the whole thread was in limericks. It was SO much fun. One day my friend, Mars, and I did all of our comments in limericks. It is not as easy as you think.

Wafflers are known for their chatter
On all kinds of subject matter
About this and that
there's all kinds of chat
They natter and natter and natter

Try it :) It is always the last line that is the killer. Jill was fabulous at it, as evidenced by the limerick she just shared.

Karen, I am counting the days too!

Ane, rennaisance festivals are so much fun. We have folk festivals here, too, which are fun. There is the Irish Faire, the Scots Festival, Sea Shanty festivals... SO much fun. I am still so happy about the 1000th post. Jill loved doing that too!

Jill, haha, Yes, I remember you and numbers. We would wait and see who could grab a significant post on the Granny Thread :) Yes, I just realised that I'm not good at doing nothing. I am so excited the baby is sleeping and I can catch up on the thread.

Sherri, thanks (about the awesome friend.) She is really feeling the break in her shoulder now, but her family is taking care of her. I have always been there for her when she needed me, and the other way around. I am so glad you are out walking and feeling a little better. I hope you are feeling the benefits of your new pacemaker/defibrillator.

Shana, I have upgraded to version 25 too and I need to explore it. I don't have any time these days. I can't believe how much time babysitting four days a week takes. Well, obviously four days a week haha, but it takes the evenings and mornings, too, then the rest of the time I have to catch up on home stuff. I want to play with photoshop, but haven't had a minute. Love that you took the girl child shopping - it sounds as though you had a wonderful time.
