WTG Dorann, for standing up for yourself and not letting yourself go to work today! :D

I've had a pretty good weekend. Did some shopping yesterday then watched some TV in the evening with my family. Today we all went to church then I had a nice nap. Now I'm sitting here, contemplating scrapping or joining Eren on the couch for some TV.

It was an adjustment moving to a retirement community. I opted for things I never thought I would enjoy. For example, I swore we would put in a washer and dryer soon after we moved in. I found that I liked being able to wash multiple loads at once in the laundry facilities we have at $1 a load (drying is free!). I love not paying for the upkeep on a pool and having the freedom of multiple pools - often with few people. I love having a free gym. No matter where you end up moving, there will be pros and cons. You will be able to decide what works for you.

Good for you, putting you first for some much needed time to take care of things, Dorann.

I told you about my Saturday, my Sunday was as busy.

Church, Bible Study, Make mum's food, walk the dog, Book Club, walk the dog, pick up mum, go to Steven's to see baby Bruce and home late. That is a lot in one day.

I am sometimes worn out by the time I go to work, but I love the excitement. I have too many friends and do too much - but I love it :)

Cleaning and treating our pool is actually therapeutic for me, I find it SO relaxing no clue why. Maybe I can help with our community pool upkeep lol

Well I can start this off by saying we are safe and all my students and their families are safe!

I went out with my family last night to celebrate my birthday in downtown Nashville. We had a great time, the food was fantastic and we were at the top of a tall hotel with a view of the city.

I woke up at 1 am this morning to the tornado sirens going off and managed to wake up and watch the tv to find out what was going on. Luckily at that point the storm was past our house. Unfortunately a very violent wedge tornado was on the ground for over an hour and demolished several buildings in East downtown Nashville all the way through Hermitage, Mount Juliet, Lebanon, and Cookeville. Public schools are probably closed for at least the rest of the week, we know of at least two private schools that were destroyed. Our side of town and my school is safe but the destruction is unbelievable. Some of my coworkers were trapped in their neighborhoods unable to even make it to the school.

Needless to say today at school was rough with many of us teachers not having slept and our students in the affected areas or nearby the affected areas didn’t sleep either. Many of us are still in shock and just watching the news, those of us with power that is. So now I’m off to catch up on my sleep!

Glad you are safe Elynnia. Nature can be so destructive. We had hurricane Sandy here so I can only image the destruction with first hand experience!

I completed my response to this month's book club here. Someone had to go first. LOL! Never participated in any book club before and digital here will be an experience!
Lots to do this week but hopefully I can get a layout finished tonight. That template for the template challenge is awesome!

Elynnia, I saw the aftermath on the news. So glad you and your family are OK. I have been to Nashville and Memphis and loved it, so sad to see all the destruction!

My daughter texted me early in the morning after the Tornadoes had hit. She moved back a year ago, thank heavens, because the place where she lived was completely demolished. She was in tears, she loved that little rental, above a garage, next to a willow tree. She called it her treehouse.

Good morning ladies. I've been busy with CT stuff, editing and desk work. This month is busy but then my work schedule lightens up for the rest of the year. I was hoping this would be the case. I'll still be busy but not "as" busy. Having Friday as a catchup day is good so that I don't have to work so hard the other days and frees up my wkends. So.....if I can just get thru this month...there is a light at the end of the tunnel!

I am editing baby shower pics and if the little mama is feeling ok, we'll do maternity shots this wkend. That'll be fun.

So, I'm around, just a little extra busy right now. Today I need to fit in some scrapping too. That is never a chore though :) That is my therapy from stress LOL.

Hey ladies! I've had a hectic couple of weeks! I always feel overwhelmed jumping back in after being out of the loop for a bit because it's hard to go back and get caught up with what everyone is up to. :)

Let's see, in the last couple of weeks, my oldest daughter, Jennah, got accepted into her college of choice, which is a cosmetology school. She'll be starting in June and is very excited. Now, she just has to save up for a car because the one she has is not really reliable enough for her to be traveling far in it.

I've been itching to scrap, but haven't had the time for a bit. I'm going to get some time tonight finally though, so I can't wait for that. Well, I'm off to read through and see what everyone else has been up to :)

Hello everyone.
Well I obviously cannot do a multi -quote. I thought I had learned it but apparently I did not.

Lynnie- You continue to amaze me with all you accomplish on so many levels!
Ella Rose - I sure hope hubby is improving... and finding success in his surgery.
Sherri- How did the wisdom teeth go... Lost the after.
Karen- that is great on the AZ and the snow skiing. Our AZ visits have been hot ones.

Ane- Happy y'all had Mardi Gras fun. Hubby is from N.O. We went once with Megan when she was 5. Enjoy the kitty.

Lilly Anne- I hope your dad improves. I have a leg a bit shorter from back surgery in 1990.

Lynnie- I LOVE your LO's from NZ and Hawaii. Brought back so many memories of our visit in Hawaii [and that book is finished!!]

Back in a bit with updates from me.

Now back as an update for me.

My new embroidery machine hit a snafu... and I had to take to the dealers to send back to Brother technician for fixing. That alone gave me tummy upsets as I have 12 towels to embroider by March 10, and I need it back sooner than later! I am able to embroider on the other machine however it is smaller and more difficult to combine designs.

My newest crochet blanket is almost finished! Getting ready for new ones.

Hubby has played golf and actually happy with a few games.

Grandson is back into the swing [forgive the pun] with spring season baseball. Two teams again... Rec league and AB [advanced ball] travel ball. Actually..it's travel lite. IF you would like a great chuckle- see my FB for grandson getting hit by 2 pitched balls. Talk about 'actors in their roles'.

Granddaughter started "Jin-AS-tics". She was SO SO EXCITED! First class...busted on the trampoline with a major bloody nose!!! Oh my stars... in the 30 years, teaching PE [of 40 total years teaching] plus coaching judging competitive gymnastics...I'd give it 6 out of my top 10 nose bleeds. And of course it was on Grandma's watch.
The bleeding continued off and on for 4 days. Went to the doctor's on day 5. She's ok, and cleared for another round. Second class was super successful. Her biggest gripe was not completing the class. A page eventually. I need a kit.

The the freezer went out, quickly followed by the refrigerator part. So we have a new one! [page on Friday]

Then I'm sick! Geez, A major GI flair up. No idea why. It lasted about 12 hours, probably my usually. No fever. NOT the flu or the Corona virus.

That said, we are taking a cruise March 14-20. Praying hard - all is good!

I'm not over the top concerned about 'us' with the virus. I just wish people would be more vigilant regarding themselves - with their affect on others.

Ok, folks... I think I'm pretty much caught up here and with CT stuff.

Back as I can.
Hugs to all.

And as for me, been a busy one at work this week. It is one of my goals to be a major team player and after not going to work on Sunday for the benefit of myself and the family, I feel like I need to kick it up some during the week and that is what I've been doing. But, on the bright side, only two more days until the weekend. Tomorrow is going to be a long one, I know, but Friday should be a pretty easy peasy day.

I found out on Sunday that one of my old managers had passed away and that combined with the fact that Monday was the 25th anniversary of the day that my dad died has hit me hard. I have pretty much been an emotional mess.

Good morning ladies. I've been catching up on desk work and CT work these last couple of days. Looking forward to the wkend. I have lots of fun stuff planned.

Dorann - hugs for the sad thoughts. Glad your schedule will be easy on Friday.

Michelle - better you get sick now than later, so you'll be healthy for your cruise. I'm so jealous! I really want another cruise (its been about 5 yrs). It's not in the cards for another couple of yrs but is something to look forward to.

Kelley - how exciting for your daughter to get into the school she wanted. Hope she finds a dependable car soon.

I'm off to get some desk work done and head out for errands in a bit. Hope you all have a great day.

Congratulations on the college! That is wonderful news. You are beautifully preserved for someone who has a college age daughter! I think you must look more like sisters.

I have been itching to scrap, too. I have fit it in between stuff, but I have illusions of completing tons of stuff and I fall behind on my dreams daily!

I hate having something new that doesn't work!! I hope it is better soon so you can get your towels done. I have often thought I would like to take up machine embroidery - but the last thing I need is another hobby and I am not sure I would be that good at it :)

How do you find the time to machine embroider, do crochet and all the other stuff you do! Amazing.

Oh my gosh, that nose sounds terrible. I am impressed that she went back for more 'Jin-AS-tics!' I think Karen came out with no injuries when she was in gymastics, but I worked behind the scenes at a meet one year and listened to the mothers talking about recovery times for injuries and decided she would focus on dance instead...

I hope you feel better soon. I came back from England with a really bad sinus infection and was convinced I would be quarantined when I came back into the US. The cough lingers on.

I am not overly concerned with the virus over, but I agree that people need to be conscientious in general. They say the number one prevention is washing your hands and not touching your face.

I think you are a major team player - filling in for people all the time. Taking one day for you and your family does not make you any less a team player. I read once that at the end, no one wishes they had spent more time working - only that they had spent more time with their family. When your children are grown, you will not look back on their childhood thinking "I wish I had spent less time with them!"

I love hearing about your days, Rae. I live vicariously through your walks through the beautiful place where you live.

Hi everyone.

Had Been down with a migraine for over a week.
The girl is off to Toronto on an inclusion group "thing", I can't keep up with her.
The boy and I have a meeting at his school early in the morning, they refuse to follow his IEP, please send positive thoughts I can express myself and hold my temper.
and the last question:
If you were digital graduation kits hiding in my dropbox where would you be?
I know I've bought kits, I remember explicitly seeing one cap being called a mortarboard and going mmmm. but I cannot find it by searching, names, cross checking to the store. So frustration, I have also searched diploma thinking they might be together etc. grrrr

Did you do a store search for what you are looking for. That might help with the designer name than you could search your stash with that.

Search for grad, cap, gown, tassle. If you are using the windows search function, you could try doing *grad*.png - that sometimes brings things up that searching for grad will not. Not sure why, but there you have it. All the kits I have contain diploma, grad and cap. You can also search for diploma in the store to bring up most of the grad kits. If the designer listed it as an element, it should bring up all the kits with that element.

Hi everyone, just getting back into the usual grind now that holidays are past, such a great time in Arizona!

Had dinner with an old friend last night, new local place that was supper yummy. My friend is going to be a gramma for the first time and she is so excited. We used to call her the "Baby Whisperer" because she can calm any baby! LOL.

Kelley, Nice to see you back and nice that your daughter got her choice of school, happy car shopping.

Michi, Bummer on the embroidery machine, hope it gets fixed so you can finish your project deadline! My gresat-grandmother embroidered and I had a few pieces passed down to me. One was an embroired doily whcih I had in my bag on my wedding day. A few other pieces are pillow cases which I pope to photograph and scrap one day.

Dorann, Hugs to you! Last October was the 30th anniversary of my Dad, we miss him terribly.

Sherri, You daughter is one busy young lady! I adore her photos and all your LO's of her wonderful experience in NWT. I hope the school meeting went well! Did you search under your downloads? I often upload kits to my computer then not do the download. Thankfully my son showed me where they are stored. Good luck!

This busy weekend agenda include visiting Mom, Yoga, housework, grocery shopping, tax prep, hockey games as our home-town team fight for a chance in the playoffs, fun with the grand-daughter with a sleepover and hopefully some scrappy time!

Have a great weekend - til next time!

Good morning, ladies. The sun is shining so I got out in the yard to take some photos of the critters. Can't wait to go out for a long walk with Taz in a bit.

Sherri - hope you find that kit and really hope that migraine lets up soon.

I'm going to go do some CT and desk work before I head out.

Have a great day everyone.

Did you do a store search for what you are looking for. That might help with the designer name than you could search your stash with that.

Yes, I most definitely search the store by topic, A, B, C and designer as I have so much 'stuff' and half the time my tagging doesn't show up.

Thank you Lynnie- I just do as much as I can. I love the crafting I do. I juggle it around so I'm never bored or feel I have to stay on just one.

Love the activities with the g'kiddo's. I was always there for my daughter's activities and vowed I would be for my grandchildren. When I was growing up, no one was there to watch me. Now I did not have grandparents. 3 were gone before I was born. The 4th mostly bed ridden and passed when I was 11.

Our weather has been so hot then cold. I wish it would make up it's mind!

I'm on towel #5 of 12. They are coming along.

It's starting to warm up here (again) we have been on a weather rollercoaster it seems. Made it through last week and the two fieldtrips, both theater related. The first was to Nashville Children's Theater downtown and the second was to another local Montessori school where their students were performing a play about Maria Montessori, it was wonderful! I spent all day yesterday (10:30am - 7:30pm) with the family of my kindergartener. We had her birthday party at a park close to their house and then had the family party last night. I was asked to photograph both parties. It was alot of fun but I am exhausted! I woke up early this morning and went to our botanical garden which is ten minutes away and spend an hour in the garden photographing the flowers and trying to get better at operating the new camera lens. Their "In Bloom" event began this week though I was surprised by how much was not yet in bloom.. I am hoping to get to back next week over Spring Break. Now I am back on the couch where I will be watching tv and working on scrapbooking stuff for the rest of the morning!

The internet was down for an extended period last night. I had to watch actual television - could not connect to the internet for scrapping purposes an in general felt very cut off from the world.

I was in short - DISCOMGOOGLATED! (I love that actual word!)

I spent yesterday with my grandson. He was really fussy and would not nap. I finally got him down for about two hours, but he was on my lap and I could not put him down. Gee, forced to sit and cuddle him for long periods of time? SUCH a hardship.
:)

Husband Rand and son Steven were cutting down a dead tree in the back of the house. They were being so manly! I made to sure take pictures. Steven is very much an indoor, computer type and working outside is not his favourite thing. When I took Bruce off his hands and told him to go and play, he said, "I did not know Dad knew how to play video games." When I said I meant go and play at chopping down trees he grunted in displeasure. Later in the day he came in, very satisfied and said "That WAS playing!"

Anyway, I am supposed to be at work. I HATE THIS TIME CHANGE! I can't get up...

Good morning ladies! Had a busy wkend but it was fun. Did an engagement session at the lake with my GS and his baby-mama. We had fun. They are so sweet together. Can't wait for the baby to arrive next month. Then on the way back we went to Bailey's for a few hours and went out for a long walk with Taz. I like to get her outdoors as much as I can when I go over. I want to brainstorm some activities to do with her. With her TBI it is hard to keep her attention for long, but we keep trying. Then home to edit some photos, get some desk work done (still had some left over from Friday to finish up) and then sat down last night for a few hours to catch up on Big Brother. Hubs and I always watch that together. He doesn't like many reality shows but he does like this one.

Today I've got lots of desk work coming in so will be working lots other than a lunchtime walk with Taz. I've got household chores to fit into my day somewhere too.

Elynnia - what lens did you get? I don't remember you saying. I love botanical gardens. I'm so anxious for spring/summer and new blooms.

Lynnie - your story made me smile :)

I'm getting another coffee and getting to work. If I get lots done today, I can relax later and scrap a LO which will be fun. Have a great day everyone!

Ever do anything unexpected and loved it!
We got up extra early and were out the door by 6:15 am. We drove an hour and a half just to have breakfast a Cracker Barrel. Than we came home at around 10:45 and took a nap.
I spent some time doing laundry than I finished my layout for the Connie Prince challenge.

Well, that virus that the world is going crazy over has shown up here. There are currently 6 diagnosed cases in Kentucky. Three of them in a county 30 miles away from here, two of them in my county and one of them in Louisville. Kind of scary I have to admit and the fact that I've had a cold that hasn't wanted to stop isn't doing any favors at all. But I know I will be okay in the grand scheme of things.

Other than that, had a pretty long and frustrating day at work today. The store took longer than it should have and then I was having a lot of problems with technology at the office afterwards while trying to get ready for tomorrow. The direct result of that was it is only Monday and I'm already 12 hours in to the week. Tomorrow I have to travel about 2 hours away for work so that looks to be a pretty long day again. But for the next hour my time is mine.
