Aww the cat sounds like she is already making a big difference! Can't wait to see pictures!

I've been in crazy mood trying to get things done at work and home. Yesterday I went to a photography workshop where he taught us how to set up and use studio lights and things for indoor studio photography. It was a lot of fun and the first time I have worked with professional models, wow that makes a difference! I am horrible at posing people and they didn't need any guidance in that area so it went smoothly. I stayed up late last night editing all the photos so I could send them to the models so I am exhausted but I will scrap a layout from my favorites at some point.

My goal right now is to survive this week and next. This week, two of my students have birthdays and then another at the beginning of next week. My class bakes muffins together for everyone's birthdays so this means lots of baking in the next couple of days! I am looking forward to this weekend, I have signed up for a two day intensive on book binding and the art of book making so that should be fun! Unfortunately it means I will be running on no energy again at the start of next week. I love having things to do on the weekend that get me out of the house especially if they relate to art or my photography but I don't appreciate how much of a struggle the following week inevitably is.

My problem exactly. I love doing so many things I fill up all my free time and I am exhausted at work :) Work totally gets in the way of my crafting.

Back to work for the second day and I am pooped with a headache...can not wait for retirement too!

Ane, I would love to visit New Orleans. We have never been out that way and it sounds like so much fun! Can't wait to see the LO's of your kitty.

Lynnie, Sorry to hear about your mum...hope she will feel better soon. I am in the same boat and my mom is only 76! Keep up the hugs cuz we are going to miss them one day. Mary Poppins sounds wonderful!

Lily Ann, Take care of you dad too...hugs to you!

Ella Rose, Your retirement plan will work out, just keep searching adn you' ll find your dream.

Sherri, I voted for you LO...absolutely gorgeous photos and such a treat for your daughter.

Rae, Thanks for the welcome back Rae...we had so much fun in the sun and now we are back to WinterPeg!

Elynnia, Concentrating on phototgraphy sounds like a dream...hoping to do more of that this summer.

I am neglecting my GS book club, still have half the book to go.. hopefully I will finissh it this weeekend. It is a good read so far. Just booked my next trip...actually my DREAM trip! Paris - England - Wales - Scotland in September.

Leap Year coming...what's everyone going to do for their extra day this year?

Karen, first day or two or week back to work after a vacation always make me feel extra tired. Like they say we need a vacation from our vacation. Hope the headache goes away.
I hope to finish the book within the next couple of days! So much back story!
My dream vacation would be a trip to Hawaii but they is way more expensive than a cruise or even Disney.

Please send growing and healing prayers for my nephew and his wife's baby. They had a baby last week when it was due on May 20th. She's stable but very tiny at barely 1 lb 10 oz. I can't post on FB because my nephew didn't post anything about it yet.
It's a very trying time for them and my sister as well who is bipolar and going for major back surgery next week. Prayers needed for her as well.

LilyAnn - loads of prayers for your nephew and his wife and their baby.

I hope you get your dream vacation one day. I was fortunate enough to live over there for a while. I was married to a Hawaiian man... long story, but it did not work out, lots of soap opera-like details. But I loved my time over there and have so many wonderful memories and so many adventures. I have been over three times since then and loved each visit. There is something magical about the islands.

SO funny, I have read the March choice, but not the February choice in the book club. I will need to catch up :) February looks interesting. I think I can do it before the end of the month.

LilyAnn...yes Hawaii is expensive. I have it on my bucket list and my son is making me jealous as he has a 5 hour layover on his way back from Japan this spring and he says the beach is 10 minutes from the airport. I told him he better not fall asleep and make me come and get him. LOL

This discussion on Hawaii makes me want to go back and scrap stories from when I lived there. I have no pictures from those days, I did not own a camera when I lived there, but I can find images of the things that have stories (like a hammerhead shark and a mango tree!) and scrap them.

I will tell you when they are scrapped and you can go and read them - they are funny stories.

L Y N N I E ! ! ! What a blast from the past!!! I can't believe we haven't "bumped into each other" in our digi-lives before now!

So much has changed since we saw each other in Cali -- how many years ago now?!

The joys of our lives are our three beautiful grandbabies, ages 6, 4 and 2. Besides those blessings, scrapbooking still fills my heart with joy.

I'm anxious to find time to read back through the comments and hope to get to know everyone here @ GS a bit better!!! (I already see many familiar names ...!) Feels great to be back here!

Hubs will be 62 next November and we're both looking to retire then (I'll be 62 the following July). Once we've retired, we plan on traveling - heading to the east coast first. We're weighing our options of purchasing an RV and traveling - or just finding places to stay for extended periods of time. Not sure hubs will stay retired "forever" but I guarantee that is MY goal - LOL.

Good morning, ladies. I'm popping in for a quick hello. I've got desk work and then off to a few appts this morning. Nothing new with me, working and scrapping, walking Taz and hanging out with hubs. We are almost caught on Good Doctor and want to watch the new 911 show tonight, I think there's been about 5 episodes so far. I love binging shows in the evening, I just wish the computer in the LR was faster, it takes twice as long to scrap on it as in my office. Its an all-in-one computer so not sure if it can be upgraded, will have to check soon as its driving me crazy. But, either way, I'm not going to replace it at this point, can't justify spending money for an extra computer.

Ane - so happy you got a cat, I do find animals are so therapeutic for our well being. Enjoy her.

Elynnia - sounds like fun with the studio session. Sometimes I miss the portrait sessions but not enough to go back into biz. I sold all my lights and equipment last year. Keep practicing with the posing, it comes more natural with time and practice. Book binding sounds interesting!

Lynnie - yes.....work gets in the way :)

Karen - finish up the book....it's good! Wow, another amazing trip coming next year! That sounds amazing.

Lily Ann - prayers sent for the little one and the family.

Jill - so happy you joined us here! We're trying to figure out what to do with retirement too, we have about 2 yrs to figure out what we'd like to do. I think I want to work part time but not sure if I want to do what I do now or something else and we need to figure out where we want to move to (further out to a quieter area). Lots to think about.

I'd better get going. I have to head out for a few appts in a bit so need to get off the computer. Have a great day everyone.

Jill :) I saw your comment and picture on the other thread and I thought "I think this is my Jill!" I am working so I did not have time to go back and check. How lovely to bump into you again. There are few of the old DSP folks here, quite a few. Jill (Evergreen100) is here under the name of Jill. You should see her gallery, I am in awe of her scrapping skills. I am still in touch with Mars. I see Sandra and Tara from time to time. We had a DSP reunion last August, which was amazing.

I have four grandsons now - Mark is 23, if you can believe that. In addition to him, I have John (3), Luke and Bruce (<1). Karen is still running wild and free in the entertainment industry. She works more on the admin side now and is getting back from Mexico tonight after two gigs there. In between the two, she did the superbowl. She is not with Disney anymore, but I did get thousands of pictures that will never run out, so I do still scrap her characters from time to time.

Sandra (SSSnoo) has an amazing blog about her travels and does some amazing digital art. She is retired and travels in a glampervan and does all kinds of fun stuff. Tara (OrangeSue) is married to Chris and lives in NOrthern California. We have a DSP facebook page if you want to join up there and chat with everyone.

I have settled in here at Gingerscraps. It is a wonderful site, with active users, beautiful galleries, great products and a super attitude towards everything. I loved posting here when I was on the DET - I always got comments on my layouts. We make everyone welcome and I love that. You will love it here, and you can use your stash from other sites when you post layouts in the galleries. No one will frown on it. I use mostly GS products now, but do a lot with my HUGE DSP stash for home project and if something is really nice I post it here. Meryl posts here a lot, although she is not a designer.

Glad to see you have posted a few things in the gallery :) Look forward to seeing more.

Hey JillW!! I remember you from DSP (I was evergreen100 there) How lovely to see you back here at GS, I think you were active here when I first joined up.

So glad to see everyone knows others from other sites. (So many are closing. :( )
I've been settling in here now for a little over a month and I feel like I'm "home." I do love the open gallery. Can't wait to make some layouts with the kits I've designed over the years when they fit in with the challenges. LOL! And I love the comments on the layouts. Always makes me feel welcome.

Can't wait to see those Hawaii layouts. Maybe I can dream of visiting from layouts in the gallery.

The challenges have to be completed with mostly GS products if you want to earn the bonus, which I think is only fair. It is not 100%, but mostly. Just general scrapping, you can use pretty much anything.

I think when a site closes, folks get lonesome for the community they lost when the site closed. I know that we have a pretty close Digital Scrapbook Place community on Facebook. It is wonderful when some of them come here and I get to hang out with them in the forums again.

But I also don't feel the need to hang out with just them and recreate that same community here. There are so many new friends to make also. But I love having them here SO much.

I have done some. There are probably about 10 more, but this is a start. Some are at the Polynesian Cultural Center, which is why there is Samoa, New Zealand, Fiji, etc. on them. I love my Hawaii pictures :) I have a bunch more from my trip in 2019:

And don't you find that when you binge watch stuff that you can watch them all over again because you were focused on your scrapping in the first place :)

I've bounced around at a lot of different scrapbooking sites and love the community feel of GS! I remember DSP!!! I was NashvilleAngel back then.

Lynnie thanks for sharing those layouts! Love the vibe of them and the ocean is so serene!

Don't get me wrong but "home" is the one forum that you keep coming back to. I do go to others as well and have friends at all of them, especially since I've been around digi-land for well over 10 years. I have had "homes" at Stuff to Scrap and Scraps N Pieces the store. (Hi Lori and Heidi) Love my digi friends. Love watching their children grow, get married and have babies and grandbabies. We've been through the ups and downs of life. Many a night I'd just sit and chat on FB about family stuff that you just can't post on FB. We help and learn from each other.
I hope to make new friends here as well but like you said, Lynnie, it is great seeing the friends you knew from other sites here.

HELLO!! I'm so happy to see you again --- seems like it was a lifetime ago we were @ DSP - the industry has boomed so over the years!! I'm off to check out your gallery :-)

Hey JillW!! I remember you from DSP (I was evergreen100 there) How lovely to see you back here at GS, I think you were active here when I first joined up.

Lynnie - I'd love to get reconnected with my DSP pals via Facebook!

Sounds like you are a busy busy lady …!! I keep in touch with Tara via FB and a few others from DSP -

I'm guesting for Miss Fish templates at the moment, hoping I can snag a few CT spots if they come up here. (I'm currently on the store team @ TLP).

Good morning ladies,

I have been sick and running nonstop. I did manage to get 34 pages scrapped this month (over my goal of 29, and the month's not QUITE over yet!) so I feel pretty accomplished, even if I haven't quite managed to finish my Siena trip. That's a kind understatement for myself- there are 38 pages so far, and I have pre-divided another 37 pages so far, and know that there's still 200 pictures to subdivide... perpetual story of forever, haha.

I usually have to re-save the pictures smaller before I can post them here, and more frequently than not, I forget. I will try to remember to upload some highlight pictures tonight.

We had planned to go to Venice this weekend, but that's on hold now that the Coronavirus has the north of Italy under caution... on Sunday the Swiss government will let us know if they decide to close the border. My partner says we should probably go shopping on Saturday so we have some provisions that aren't overpriced. I am trying to determine how much space I can make in my freezer, and what I can make that will stretch out food. I see a lot of soups in my future.

Friend me on Facebook (Lynnette Parsonage Siler) and I will admit you to the group :)

You are in a pickle with the Coronavirus issues. Soups are definitely the way to go stretching your food. I would also say getting a lot of things like dried beans, rice, pasta, grains, etc. would be beneficial. You can add root veggies - they generally last a while in a cool place. Anyway, keep us posted.

I can't remember what you said you used for a program. In photoshop you can just export for the web and it does a pretty good job resizing. I used to struggle with it until someone pointed that out :)

Good morning, ladies. Got some CT work done last night but need to get more done today. Lots of desk work too. So a busy day for me. Hubs is home today. He's got a dental visit later so took a vacation day off work (he has some left over from last yr). I'm waiting to hear from our accountant as to what I owe this year. I always dread it but no way around it, gotta pay the tax man :)

I will pop out at lunch to spend an hour with Bailey, have a tea and work on a puzzle with her. I always bring Taz which she loves.

Sylfie - wow....that's a lot of pages! You are a scrapping machine!

Lynnie - yes, sometimes I re-watch something b/c I missed so much of it if I was too focused on my scrapping. I've got a computer set up in the LR in a good spot, so the big screen is just to the right of the monitor so I can see both without turning my head much, that way I "see" most of what is happening.

Busy morning, so I'm getting another coffee and getting to work. Have a great day, everyone!

Lynnie, you've just changed the world. :clap:I had completely forgotten about that function. Now as I'm working my way through I just have to remember to save twice since my "standard" pages are 3600x3600 so I have good print quality and no shortage of HD space lol.

For food, my only "problem" is that from my dietician, I am not to eat any vegetable that is not green because it has more sugar than I should have, and should eat no grains at all. I don't always manage that, to start with, but I think the coming weeks it will become more difficult. I suppose he will have to forgive me. You've been a very busy commenter, too, in the last 24h!

Sometimes I feel a little silly with my layouts being 'masked' so my partner's face doesn't show, but he is very adamant that it is OK if I take pictures, provided I don't post them online because he's uncomfortable with that- which is already a large step ahead from "never take a picture of me EVER" so I will take it.

Rae I go through a lot of pages, but I also take so many pictures that it is a never-ending waltz. At least I have fun. Lol. I scrap-and-watch, too. My partner will occasionally fuss at me for doing so, because he thinks I am not giving the needed attention, but I have always done art or projects while watching TV.

I am almost always watching something when I'm scrapping. Hubby is usually in front of the TV watching on the big screen and I'm scrapping in a spare bedroom (aka - computer / craft room) just off of the living room. I scrap using a huge monitor and watch programs from my iPad - seems backwards, but it works! LOL.

Ready for the weekend - hubs has worked for the past 4 Saturdays, so tomorrow we're getting our taxes done and then making a day of doing something - not sure what yet. May hit a few antique shops and then shopping ... the weather here in No IL is supposed to be nice - in the 50's!! Yay!

I am wiped out...

Wednesday my friend gave me some pictures to scrap for a video for her husband's retirement party today. It was my idea! I had Bible Study Wednesday night, doctor appointments Thursday, a Puppy Party Thursday night, more doc appointments Friday, took mum out to dinner THEN I started the video. I also had an 8am breakfast with some friends, another Bible Study until 10:30 this morning, then a walk with a friend until noon. THEN I finished up the video and went to the retirement party. After that, I went for another walk.

I have my feet up - I am worn out.

I know that I've been really quiet this week. We've had problems with the power and heat at the house and that meant not being able to use the computer (except for just a little bit at the office). We mostly have that straightened up now so that is a good thing. I ended up working a whole lot last week because of not having the power the way I would like to have it and also because I am still trying to get everything financial straightened up. I am getting there but still have a little bit to go.

Work is driving me nuts. I said earlier in the week that I wasn't going to work today because I had other things to do and yet I've still been called a number of times today trying to get me to work and I keep saying no. Sometimes you just have to think about yourself first.
