As all of you know, in this thread we can discuss anything about the current book. Please feel free to share your thoughts while you are reading or whenever you want, or as you progress in your reading, it's up to you, this thread is yours, so express all what you think about the book and reading. You can write parts of the text you're reading, and that you think are important to understand the plot, comment on what you think of all what you have reading so far, whether the author is easy or difficult to understand and follow?, how the plot and characters develop to your mind?, and if there's a quote you'd like to share, please do it.

Once again welcome, I hope several of you will choose to join us!

I started this yesterday :) I'm enjoying it so far, interested to see where it will go. BUT not totally hooked. We shall see how it develops :)

What did you think @Grace. ?
I'm on chapter 6 so far chapter 1 was a bit boring, with the party, Dale, etc., or maybe it seemed too trivial to me, even though it was like an introduction to the characters, who would be developed later I guess, but Chapter 2 was more interesting, especially when she wakes up as a 51-year-old woman instead of a 19-year-old, and she doesn't believe Kenzie, and doesn't even let him explain anything, and all she wants is to leave the house, her house, and not even seeing her reflection in the mirror makes her sit down and consider listen what Kenzie has to say; I thought it was a bit stupid, but I understand that someone would react in denial due to the shock; at first, I was intrigued that Kenzie didn't tell her where Dale was, even though she asked him about Dale a couple of times, he never answered, but then I understood. I've been enjoying the way the plot is developing, and I'm interested in learning more about Oona, her life, and how the story will unfold, you see I loved Quantum Leap, actually, I grew up watching that series, so I'm finding the book interesting, the plot reminds me a bit of the movie "about time," where Tim and James (his father) had the ability to travel back in time to moments they had previously experienced simply by clenching their fists, although they remained aware of what they had lived through, they didn't jump randomly, that happened more in "Quantum Leap," but Sam Beckett didn't jump back to his own life, but to the lives of other people.

I'm 75% done, on Part 5- chapter 22, I'm going to finish it but to be honest it just really never got me totally invested. I'm curious how it will end, but it isn't a book I would recommend as of now.

@Grace. it seems like we are kind of both thinking the same thing. LOL

@GingerScraps I hope the remaining 25% improves, making for a better read. I know that after reading the previous book, it will be difficult to find another good one, it happened to me after reading "Remarkably bright creatures", it took me a while to find another book where the characters became a part of my life, like beings you get to know and want to read more about, I suppose it's also the author's role, some writers have the talent to draw the reader into the story, and others don't. The plot of this book promised something interesting, but if the author doesn't develop it enough, it remains an unfinished idea, something that doesn't convince because it feels forced. I'm on chapter 10 so far, I hope that I'll finish it on the weekend. Waiting to read your review dear Ginger :)

@Grace. I totally agree, I felt the same about Remarkably Bright Creatures too!! That was just a gem of a book!!

There was one interesting development towards the end... but not interesting enough to rally recommend the book to anyone. In my opinion it got about 3 out of 5 stars. It was fine... but there are SO many amazing books out in the world, I would pass on recommending it to others.
Let me know what you think when you finish Grace (and anyone else that ends up reading it).

So Grace, were you surprised when... you found out the young man (I already forgot his name) was he sone?! that part did pique my interest. That pushed me through to the end, interested to see how it would wrap up. How did you feel about the ending?

@GingerScraps I haven't finished it yet, but I only have a couple of chapters left, and I feel like key plot points are gonna be left unresolved. I was interested in knowing how Oona revealed what was happening to her mother, but so far nothing has been mentioned, and although the idea sounded promising, I'm wishing another author had written it, because I don't like Margarita Ontimore's Oona, she's egocentric, lacks self-awareness, whiny, self absorbed, makes stupid decisions, and even with a super unstable life, decides to have a child, which I found to be the height of selfishness, because throughout the book, it doesn't seem like she cares about her child at all, she only cares about her own emotional needs. She doesn't listen to her future self, even deciding not to help her future selves, and she spends her time idealizing Dale, a guy who wasn't great but whom she elevates to almost a demigod, just because he died. Besides, Oona isn't a great friend. I hope her friend went to London and enjoyed life without Oona. And well, she's not a good daughter either, she treats her mother terribly, attacking her as if she were to blame for everything that's happening to her, and to be honest, I liked her mother more than Oona, who, in everything I've read, does nothing but complain about getting older and gaining weight. I really wanted to like this book, I even downloaded Kate Bush and Velvet Underground's music, but I didn't even like the music.
