Hi All!
I'm LilyAnn. I used to design here under the name "A Fish Design." And along with that, scrapped our life. That has come to a halt but the scrapping bug is hitting again. Hopefully I'll get to scrapping again soon.
I've been married to my husband Jeff for 25 years and have known each other for at least 5 years prior. We have two loving children. Molly (23) is living with her boyfriend of 4 years at his house with his father and brother and his girlfriend. She is a hard worker and currently has 3 jobs. She works at the library a couple of hours a week. Works as a soccer couch a couple of days a week and her newest job is as a pre-school teacher assistant. She did get her masters in education.
My son Philip (19) finished his first semester at college and hasn't done well in his classes. He's undecided whether he wants to go back or find a job. He's come into his own at college and found a bunch of friends that he hangs with. His poor grades are not because of too much socializing but because he is a slow learner with extended time allowed.
Jeff is still working the graveyard shift as a security guard for CitiField (the home stadium of the Mets). It makes for our time together limited because he sleeps during the day.
I've been working as a clerk/typist for the last 4+ years at the County Department of Health in the oil tanks department.

Christmas was quite with only 6 of us. My family, my daughters' boyfriend and an old friend from HS ate dinner and played games. Very low key. New Years was even quieter as Jeff had to work. Molly and her boyfriend (Eric) came over at 9. They taught us how to play Catana. We toasted the New Year in and finished the game and went to bed around 1:30.

I still have Post Herpetic Neuralgia from the Shingles from last year. Thank goodness the pain is no way near as intense as it was between August and October but the pain is constant.

I think this is long enough. HaHa. Hope to be more active this year. Stay safe and be healthy. Happy New Year.
I never knew you were the one behind that design name!

Happy Friday to all.
I'm WAY behind here. This cervical spine surgery has taken a toll and the recovery is slower than I anticipated!

We purchased new computers with Windows 11. {so it has taken almost 2 weeks to get them up and going...]
At present, I am extremely frustrated with it. [that's my nice way of putting it].
I've managed to get Photoshop re-downloaded. However, I cannot figure out how to get the icon on my desktop or the task bar. I have to go to Adobe and start there.
Also- I used to be able to view a video in windows Media player and extract a single frame. Well it doesn't work.
I cannot locate the snippet tool...
Any help is greatly appreciated.

I thought I would be around more during Fall Break but I was in recovery mode all week and barely turned on my computer. This school year I took on teaching choir on two different campuses and it's been a lot. There are a lot of great things happening but the mental load has me worn out most of the time.

I miss chatting with everyone but I think of you all often. I hope everyone is doing well!

@msbrad If you want, I can do a zoom call and help you with all of that stuff :) Message me !!

Lovely to see everyone here. I am in the throes of wedding planning, so have been quieter than usual. (well, you wouldn't say that if you could hear me yelling at my sewing machine haha!)

Nice to see everyone! :) I just finished a class today and will start another one in a week from tomorrow. I hope I can actually scrap this week. Well, scrap and read my book for book club. I have been keeping busy yet taking naps too. My sleep had been everywhere in the past week.

I hope all you ladies have had a great weekend! Mine was a little weird. We shopped Friday night instead of Saturday morning because hubby had a meeting Sat. morning. I stayed home and enjoyed the lovely cool weather while I finished up my paper that was due today. Later I watched some college football. This morning was church and Eren came over early, so we had a couple hours while I finished up some last class things and they watched anime. Then we watched anime together. It's always great when they come over. <3

I'm not sure I even remember how to zoom anymore. Once I figure that out, I will probably take you up on that.

Does anyone have anything planned for Halloween? We typically dress up, play cute Halloween music, and sit outside to hand out candy to the hundreds of kids that find their way to our neighborhood. But this year, it looks like the weather is going to be cold and windy, so that will greatly reduce the number of trick or treaters.

Shana, I typically carve 2 pumpkins and put them outside, turn on my porch light, and wait for the few and far between kiddos to ring the doorbell. It's supposed to be dry but cool that night, so one never knows how many will show up. We buy one of those huge bags of candy from Sam's Club anyway, in case we are left with a lot.

We stock up on the large bags of candy from Sams / Costco each year. Pro tip... if the bag is not opened, they let you return it! LOL! So now I just have to keep Randy from opening all the bags. He's so funny... he wants to have a certain ratio of candy choices. We've learned that the youth prefer the sour gummies, and the adults prefer the peanut butter/chocolate candies. We give candy to everyone and anyone who comes to our house. And Randy very generously "quality checks" each type of candy. LOL!

I actually kept up my Amazon candy subscription that I had for my school kiddies just for this Halloween. I'll be cancelling now since I don't work in a building anymore and I'll be retiring next spring. Lacy is very appreciative that I'll be supplying the goodies this year. Jolly Ranchers were their faves and I have a pretty good mix of chocolate too. I only buy what we like so it doesn't go to waste. Unfortunately, that means, it goes to waist! :ROFLMAO:

Hope everyone had a great weekend. The weather was cold and rainy on Saturday, so we stayed home. Yesterday, the sun came out so we went to the Dia de los Muertos event at the Kansas City museum, and then walked around the local amusement park as yesterday was their last day of the season. A lot of the kiosks and rides were already shut down, but we did get to go on a couple of rides and we did some shopping. Each gift shop had a clearance section and I picked up the cutest long-sleeve paisley Snoopy shirt for $6. So win! Now I am working to readjust my sleep schedule with the time change... I woke up at 4:30 a.m. and just got ready. I arrived at my office at 6:30 a.m. I may need to leave early and go take a nap! LOL!

I have read the chats and it looks like everyone is busy with something these days. Start of a new month and I am hoping to get some scrapping done...it has been tough lately with so many things going on. Fall has come but the weather is still decent but it has been super windy here with periods of rain. I have a roofer coming next week as I saw that there is a bit of water damage on the ceiling of my spare room, son says that it looks like I need to get the flashing redone on the roof so waiting for that to happen...soon I hope as there is cold weather on the horizon.

Halloween was low key this year, only carved 1 pumpkin and never took pics. I bought my cat a spider costume but she wouldn't cooperate so I only have bloopers to scrap. I had around 70 kids this year which is down from the norm but the neighborhood is getting older so not as many kids on my block.

I joined the gym and have been training in a cycle-fit class to keep up my cycling momentum for a February cycling trip to Portugal, super excited!

A lot of Dr. appt's lately that have been stressful but everything is good so I am grateful for that. Lots of downsizing still to do before I sell the house (waiting for a condo to come available) but I am content here for now.

Youngest son is in Japan so I have been admiring his photos, we talk mostly early AM and late PM as it it 14 hours ahead of my time.

My elder son got free tickets last month to see Keith Urban's concert and invited me to come along. It was fabulous even with the nosebleeds seats but who complains with free tickets?!

Well off to another task, have a great week everyone!

Shana, I had a pretty good weekend. Eren came over and we went to a huge craft fair the high school band puts on every year. Then the 3 of us went shopping. It was a nice day. Sunday we went to church, had lunch, then went to church choir practice. We are doing a big Christmas program like we do every year. I also got my final grade for my last class--100% on my last paper and an A in the class to maintain my 4.0. I've been thanking the man upstairs for that. <3

Karen, good to see you! I hope you get your roof fixed to your satisfaction. We just got ours replaced a couple of weeks ago. They were supposed to repair some of the siding too but haven't yet, so the solar company can't replace the panels yet. I know, first-world problems. Our Halloweens are also low-key. We get very few kids so we buy candy we like so we can eat the leftovers. Great idea to join a cycling class at the gym--Portugal, how fun is that? I'm glad you had doctor's appointments, if only to prove that everything is ok. Enjoy your week! :)

We got a little wet on our hike on Saturday. It started to lightly rain shortly after we made it to Cedar Hills State Park so we snagged the ponchos I had stashed in the van and took a look around Penn Farm. Since I was mostly focusing on improving taking macro photos, it worked out to try to capture some water droplet photos. I'm still learning and there were a lot of photo fails (looked decent on camera but the reality was they weren't clear) however I did get a few that turned out well that I'm pretty pleased with. We managed to get started on one trail along with about 8 other hikers before the park rangers closed the trail to traffic due to the wet conditions. There are several other trails that we want to go back and hike sometime. If you'd like to check out some of the photos I took, I posted a few on my blog: From My Heart.

I hope everyone has had a good week!

Hi chatters! Popping in to bring this to your attention, I would love some feedback! :)

Way to go with 100% on your paper! I envy you going back to school to get your degree, brave girl!
