OH No Shana! Sorry you had such a MONDAY! Mine wasn't too bad, but I felt like I got a whole lotta nothin' done.
YOU had a busy, busy week. The pix on FB looked amazing. I'm so glad that everything went off well, especially after having to re-plan it all. You're a marvel!

Not much going on here. Just enjoying summer vaca.
It's Mommy's BD today, so I'm in kind of a funk. It's not bad, but just a little sad. The bright spot is that Lacy called yesterday and asked if I had time for a drink last night. Sure! So we went out for apps and drinks and she just needed to talk and it was so great. Mom and I used to do that and it was so nice to be needed by my "little girl". I just somehow never thought we'd turn it around and turn into my mom and me and here we are. I am my mom and she's me. It just makes me happy and I told her that. And I thanked her for that too. <3

That's all.

Love and Blessings
Carla, in MN

Sylfie, I have run up against medical prejudice, but nothing like you and Shana have faced. How cruel and demeaning! I am so sorry you've had to go through that. You too, Shana! Big (((HUGS))) for the both of you!

Karen, you are in my thoughts. I'm glad you're keeping busy. :) I hope you get your mojo back! When you find it again, can I borrow some?

We (hubby and I) had a whirlwind trip to Ohio last weekend. We drove over on Friday, played with the grands for a few hours, then said goodbye as they were leaving on their own trip. Saturday we went to a big air show, walked around for a while, and parked ourselves for a bit to watch the airplane acrobatics. Very cool. We drove home Sunday and just kind of flopped down, lol. For this week, I have a big school project due, as it's the last week of class. Yikes!

Shana, so sorry to hear you had a looooong Monday. I got to the end of today thinking it was Wednesday and I was so excited when my husband said it was Tuesday. I had to check my phone to make sure. I have another day to get things done before I babysit on Thursday!! I hope the rest of your week speeeeeds by for you!

Carla, I am so sorry you are missing your mum. I miss mine every day. She has been gone for three years, and she was such a lovely lady. I was lucky to have her living with me for almost my whole adult life. She was an absolute angel, and I can only hope I get to be more like her as the years pass by.

Karen, it is funny when we need a rest from our daily life! I know I have been more busy since I retired. I have no idea how I found the time to work. I need to rest more though!

Ane, it sounds though you had a busy weekend! I am glad you had a little time with the grand before they left. I am also glad you enjoyed the air show. I know it was not your favourite thing to do! Some good pics to scrap?? I hope!

I have had a busy few days. I babysat last Thursday and Friday. Saturday, I had a State Board meeting of the Daughters of the British Empire, then in the evening I went to a Summer Solstice party put on by a friend I have known since I was 15. I stayed long enough to help clean up. On

On Sunday, I created the minutes for the DBE State Board meeting and made some new lists that the board needed. I spent a few hours catching up on journals. I have a personal journal and a news journal. I keep thinking I will be able to catch up with my project 52 - then laugh myself silly!

Monday, I had the day off babysitting. I had our Book Club in the afternoon. We just got done reading Court of Thorns and Roses. I love my book club. There are four of us. One is our hair stylist, and she works out of her home. We all get our hair done while drinking a glass of fine wine, then have dinner and discuss the book. It is the BEST Book Club ever!

Today was a fiasco! My grandson has had his phone account at MetroPCS for a long time. He took the account over from his dad, my son, David, who died 9 years ago. We constantly have issues when Mark has to replace his phone. He picked up a new phone last month, and this month his phone was cut off for non-payment. I drove to the group home where Mark lives (about a 1/2 hour drive each way) and picked him up and brought him back to our local store, which can usually resolve issues. I showed them proof that they are taking the money out of my account. They said a new account had been created when the new phone was picked up, and they couldn't stop the payments coming out of my bank account on the old account because they no longer had access to it. They said I would have to go to the store where my grandson purchased the phone and clear it up there. I make a 1/2 hour drive to that store, only to be told that they couldn't help without the old phone (which was destroyed after we got the new phone because it was falling apart!) The only option I have is to cancel my bank card! I was livid. I went to Verizon and added him to my account. It is costing less, and he ended up with a better phone. It took almost all day. After we were done with the phone issues, I took him to get new glasses and then took him home. I canceled my bank card when I got home.

Lynnie, that has got to be the worst customer service on the face of the planet! Holy moly!!!!

I'm currently in reset mode... maybe stall mode... I need time to recharge my internal batteries, so work and home tasks are taking so much longer than they should. Yesterday, both Randy and I were feeling exhausted (this is a busy time of year for his work, too), so we heated up some leftovers and just went to bed early. It was relaxing to do online shopping together (preparing for our next Disney trip lol) and sharing funny reels with each other. I think I feel asleep around 8:30 p.m. Bliss!!!

Right before Youth Tour, I had tubes put in my ears. Flying has always affected my ears, and I usually get a horrible sinus infection after trips where I fly. So the tubes are supposed to help that. I didn't have any problems with ear pressure during the flights, and I didn't get sick... so those are wins! However, I'm now experiencing a lot of ear pain and my ears feel plugged so I can't hear much! So we will see if I keep these in, or if I need to have them removed.

This year is a milestone anniversary of my high school reunion. I actually graduated from a school in South Dakota, but I spent the majority of my school years in Nebraska. The Nebraska friends always invite me to all reunions since we grew up together. I made it to the reunion 15 years ago, but not since. Our reunions are ALWAYS over the July 4th holiday (we grew up in Seward, NE, which is known as the 4th of July City). So I need to decide if I want to make that trip (about a 3 hour drive one way) or if I just want to stay home and relax. I told Randy it would probably depend on the weather forecast... if nice weather is predicted, we should go. If it's going to be hot and humid, I'd prefer to stay home in the A/C! LOL!

Ane, I am going to try and get going tomorrow with some layouts for this month. Yes, and I too find that I am busier in retirement...how did I manage 2 kids too? I will send mojo your way...LOL.

Lynnie, so sorry about all your troubles with your grandson's phone and bank, glad you got it sorted out.

I had a lovely weekend at a birthday party for my grand nephew who turned out. He is splitting image of his Dad.

Did a bit of shopping this past week to spruce up the yard, more flowers and purchased a bistro set for the patio. Hoping to get a new umbrella stand too so I can have a bit of shade, my yard faces South so I get the hottest time of the day just when I have time to relax outside.

And of course, I have been cycling. I actually signed up with my son to ride in the Great Cycle Challenge which raises funds for children living with caner. We are cycling in honor of my late husband and I am pledging to ride 200K in the month of August. Doug used to gather scrap bike parts and make bikes for kids in need, it was very rewarding for him. My son now volunteers for a not for profit organization that also builds bikes for kids called the Wrench. I have donated all his spare parts that were lying around to the cause so it is helping me cope knowing all the good it is doing for children.

Of course I was out cycling this morning with friends from high school. I have turned them into bike junkies like me...LOL! We have a lot of fun together so it is nice to connect with my old school mates.

Well, take care everyone and enjoy the summer months.

I have some very sad news… heartbreaking… our beautiful, wonderful, fabulous Sherri is moving towards the end of her journey. She had less than a week left of her life, which has been too short and fraught with struggle and pain. I will keep you posted as I learn more. (Alexis has said we could share this)

Thank you so much for sharing this, even though it’s such heartbreaking news. Sherri has been such a beautiful part of the GingerScraps community for so many years—not just as a talented artist, but as a kind and thoughtful soul. Her creativity, spirit, and presence made a lasting impact on all of us. Please let her know (or tell her daughter) how deeply she is loved and how much she means to us. I’ll be holding her—and all of you—in my thoughts in the days ahead. Please continue to keep us updated when you can. 💔

I got an email form Alexis as well, so sad to hear of Sherri's condition. I met Alexis earlier this year when she visited my home town on her way home from vacation. She let me know of Sheri's condition at that time and I am so sad as I was hoping to visit her when I went to Alberta this August. I am heartbroken for Sherri and her family! I was wondering if we could do a zoom chat like we did before, I am not a techie otherwise I would arrange it. Maybe someone here is willing to take this on? I think Sherri needs us more than ever now!

Sherri is in the hospital. I am not sure how a Zoom would work, but I can see what Alexis thinks of that.

I started this thread: please take a look <3

Hi ladies. I’ve not been too involved in scrapping since moving to Alberta. Im sure I’ll scrap more again eventually but right now I’m busy with a jewelry biz and lots of socializing and games. I had to pop in to give respect and honor to Sherri. I got the message this morning. I kept meaning to reach out to her and arrange a meetup this year now that we are settled in Alberta so it’s sad to know that won’t happen. Such a wonderfully kind and strong woman!

This is such an appropriate and touching tribute for a member of this community. I do hope Alexis can see the layouts and comments. <3

Cried this morning, because of course I did, and had my first coffee looking over Sherri's work. Glad that the call I had to take was a 'listen and don't speak' so I could mute myself because I hadn't quite gotten myself above board yet. As it's the second of the month, Invoicing is stressing me out. It is a lot of angry people who do not want to pay for services rendered, and I am tired. I keep getting told I ought to work less, but golly. There's always so much to do, and so little time to do it. Since the 4th is a holiday for the US, even though I am NOT in the US... I cannot invoice on that day. I have to finish everything by the 3rd.

I was recognised for my dedication on Sunday, and have been appointed Group Lead for the Buddhist young women's division. It is not really much of a change- my actions are the same as they were before, my heart is the same as it was before, now I just have official sanction to do the things I'd have done anyway, and a seat at the table when it comes to decision making policy. I am also subsequently invited to participate in some events which are pointed at helping to maximise one's ability to help guiding others in living their best life. That makes me happy. That has always been something I've strived to do, anyway, and I look forward to augmenting the toolkit I have available for it.

Coffee break is over, I need to go back to my internal screaming, take care ladies, lots of love.

I did it! I finished Sarah's Gotta Dance Book 2 and it is uploaded to Shutterly. I managed: 90 pages - 12 x12 - for $86! I'm super happy1!
Apologies to those who frequent the gallery because Miss Fish Templates really helped me out, so posting.

On my health...still heart BP and cervical spine issues so cardiology and neuro for me.

SO THRILLED for you Michi!!! That is going to be such a treasure for Sarah and everyone who sees it. I love seeing the pages you've done. No apologies necessary here. Brings me back to the girls' dance days. As a matter of fact, Miss Lacy was just in her studio's 25th Anniversary dance production! It was so much fun to attend. There were a bunch of the ladies that she danced with and taught WAY back when. They asked all of us to provide pictures from long ago. Of course, I obliged! I had a hard time just keeping it to the 25 that they requested. lol

Lynnie, thankyou for letting us know of Sherri's passing. It was so good of Ginger so start the thread for us to share our feelings and thoughts.

Now, I know I am not active here in this chatting thread but I wanted to let you all know that I have once again started a Random Challenge for Art Journaling which you can find HERE
Some years ago I hosted this and there was some good participation. Art Journaling is fun. I am not great at it artistically but I like to dabble in it.

Hello Ladies!
Back from visiting my sister, we had a great time. We went shopping, had steak dinners, cookouts, played a lot of cards & games. Laughed a lot. I also got to cuddle with little Letitia a lot, she is growing fast. My oldest brother surprised us and showed up while I was there. So it was great to spend some time with him, it has been to long since I seen him last. Here are a few pics... We all had a wonderful time! And I will get back to scrapping soon! Hope all of you had a wonderful July 4th.
