Karen , so glad you are enjoying the cycling. I am glad you can find to drop in, we would miss you if you didn't!

Carla, Good luck with the surgery. Keep us posted.

I was supposed to go to a friend's bridal shower today, but grandson Bruce was sick all day yesterday and seems to have passed it along to me. I woke up this morning (at my son's house) feeling a little under the weather. DIL Vanessa took baby Scarlett to her mother's house and I stayed home with poor little Bruce. My son had the day off today, so we took care of Bruce and he spoiled me, too. It was a lovely day. I am actually feeling much better, although I have a bit of a cough.

Carla, good luck with surgery, hoping it helps to relieve the pain.

Lynnie, So sorry you and Bruce are sick, get better soon! Glad Scarlett did not get it.

Yesterday was very busy, I am splitting my perennials as they have taken over my garden. I made $70 already with my Peony plant and have more coming today, I will save the money for next year's garden purchases. I have to sand and paint my mini bridge that I have had stored for the past couple years, so hoping to get that done this week. I went to a friend's 60th birthday yesterday, so fun to see so many friends.

Hoping everyone is enjoying the last weeks of summer (here anyways). Summer seems to be slipping away too soon!

Carla, good luck with your surgery! That is the day I'll be having my allergy testing, but I'll be thinking about you.

Lynnie, sorry you got sick! I hope it passes soon. I've had a migraine yesterday and today, and luckily I think it's gone.

Karen, I have a gigantic hosta I understand I need to divide, but I have no clue how to do it! I'll probably end up googling it.

This week we move Eren into their first apartment. They are tired of dorm life (and have not had good luck with roommates). It's small and expensive, but close to school, and they will be sharing with their boyfriend (2 bedrooms). They have been amassing a ton of stuff, so our living room is covered in boxes. I am glad they are learning money management through all of this! I imagine this will be at least a 2-day project. It's exciting and a little sad. I imagine we'll see less of them as they'll be able to entertain their friends more.

Hi all and happy Monday.

Carla, good luck with the surgery. I hope you get the results you want!

Lynnie, so sorry you caught a bug. Hopefully you are on the mend. And the short answer to your question about down time is… no. LOL! I was SUPPOSED to get last Thursday and Friday off as comp time… but ended up having to work for about 4 hours on Thursday and 3 hours on Friday… at least it was all stuff I could coordinate from home. But no… the only downtime I will truly have is when we go on vacation and I turn OFF my phone!

Speaking of which, we are less than a month away from our vacation! WHOO HOOO… Paris for a few days, then London / Southampton, then a cruise that will visit places in Portugal, Spain, Morocco, and the Canary Islands. We’ll be gone for three weeks and I’m trying to do as much research as possible to make sure we stay safe, are efficient with our time and budget, and prioritize our top choices of activities. I’ve been looking up required documents, learning about skip tax, and watching videos of how to avoid scammers and pick pockets. Oy vey. We’ve decided to challenge ourselves to pack as light as possible for the three-week trip. However, we spend Saturday night at a hotel following a fundraising event… and we ended up taking a big suitcase for the two of us for one single night. LOL. Not sure how light we will actually be able to pack.

Ane, I understand about you googling to divide the hostas. I have a black thumb, but have managed to keep our landscaping alive. So far this year, I’ve had to google how to deadhead geranium and how to cut back hibiscus. Both species survived my attempts, so that’s a good thing. When working with our landscaping company last year, I told them to give me plants that would thrive on neglect! LOL!!!

This week, I have a five-day training event. Most of my attendees are electric linemen, but I have a handful of office staff, as well. The linemen like the meeting room to be COLD, so I’m wearing a sweater over my outfit today. And I’m still chilly. LOL. We have had unseasonably cool temperatures the past week (as opposed to the scorcher the week before and the scorcher that will be back by the end of this week). As we are getting ready to do a LOT of walking on our vacation, I’ve increased my walking with a goal of 5-6 miles a day. So as soon as our training wraps up today, I’ll head to our mostly empty shopping mall and walk there.

Hope everyone has a wonderful week! :)

How's everyone doing mid-week?

I got my exercise in today! Moved Eren into their apartment today and made many trips from moving truck to apartment, hefting objects of various weights. Then we unpacked and assembled a few things before we had to return the truck. We are exhausted and glad we don't have to move them out until May. Ugh. Only 2 more years of college this one, and they'll have to go to grad school if they want to actually get a job in their chosen degree program (psychology).

Ane, you're a saint to help with the college move! My parents helped me move into a fourth-floor dorm room "back in the day"... it was a hot summer day and the building had no AC and no elevator. They didn't help me move after that! Ha! Can't blame them.

I've spent the week in yet another conference room as I've arranged for a week-long supervisory development program training. I'm trying to keep moving by walking the hallways of the hotel / conference area. I have a feeling I'll be getting up often today as last night's storms kept me up and I'm afraid I'll fall asleep if I stay still too long today. Ha.

On Saturday, I'm meeting my nephew who just started his senior year this morning... we'll be doing his senior photos and he wants to go out to his favorite cross country race location to take his photos. So we are meeting at dawn before it gets too bright or too hot. I'll see if my daughter wants to join us as she's great about suggesting poses, but she's not great about getting up early. LOL!

Hope everyone is having a great day!

Hi everyone. I'm tired today, didn't sleep much last night as I was worried about Remi (my mini aussie). Last night, she yelped and then wasn't able to stand on her left back leg. She was no better this morning so I took her to the emergency vet hospital. She has a torn cruciate ligament so is on anti-inflammatory and two pain meds and has to be in a crate 24/7 for 2-3 weeks minimum but probably will need surgery. Then we are looking at a long post-op period.

She is sleeping in a crate (luckily Jen still had one from when Bella was a pup) and when the drugs wear off in a few hours I'll try to use a sling to help her get out front for bathroom duties. She won't be doing stairs for quite some time. She'll have to sleep downstairs which will be hard b/c she is used to being upstairs in the bedroom. This just all makes me feel sick.

So it'll be a quiet wkend around here, that's for sure. Hope you all are having a good day. Maybe I'll get some scrapping done.

Happy Friday everyone!

Lynnie, hope you and Bruce are recovered from your flu.

Ane, How are the Hosta splitting going? I have to do mine once it cools down here. My garden is so out of control this year but it is nice to see how much my old plants have thrived. I guess Erin has settled in to her new "dorm life"!

Rae, so sorry to hear about Remi's injury, especially having to be crated 24?7. I hope things improve quick for the poor gal.

Shana, more vacation for you, YAHOO. Have a great time in Paris, London and what...a cruise on top of it. Lucky YOU!

I have been really busy this summer and am finally getting some outside projects done. Of course, my cycling is a priority since the season is so short here so I am having so much fun with the new cycling group. We had a group photo done for our local newspaper to advertise "Cycling for Seniors" and we are having a windup lunch soon.

Well off to get a much needed haircut, my hairdresser was on a retreat for the past 2 months so I am so overdue for a cut.

Have a great day everyone!

I'm sorry about Remi, Rae. It's so tough when our furbabies are hurting.

Read about everything else. Hope all are doing well, getting better, surviving kids coming and going, etc.

Getting packed up to go on retreat this weekend, YAY! with a buncha my girlfriends, just a couple hours outta town. It will just be nice to get away for a change.

Have a great weekend. Love ya.

Love and Blessings.

Good morning ladies.

Karen - how fun to have the group photo taken for the newspaper. You should frame the article. Very cool!

Carla - sounds like a fun wkend away with your GFs. Enjoy!

Remi is handling the crating well, I guess she is in enough pain that she knows she shouldn't be walking and is doped up enough to mostly rest. I went out last night and bought a couple of good stuffed bones for her to enjoy. I can hear her gnawing away at it, she's in the living room in her crate as I'm in my office. I have been lying on the floor with the crate door open so I can lean in for rubs and cuddles. This also stretches out my lower back which is needed b/c of the added stress to my back as I use a brace to lift up her hind end, to walk her outdoors for bathroom breaks. Darrell is gone to pick up a ramp to place over the stairs out into the garage which is the best route to get outside with minimal walking. She won't be going out the back way for many months. She is tolerating the pain meds really well, no vomiting or other issues, which they said often happens. I'm going to go watch a video on the best way to get the pills into her. I'm stuffing them into cheese and lifting her throat up to swallow but she is so strong and tries to spit them out sideways. Ugh. Hopefully I learn a tip or two about that.

I might get a page scrapped later, will watch a bit of TV while lying on the floor next to Remi's crate and sometime later hope to have a nap b/c I didn't sleep much last night.

I'm off to get another coffee which is greatly needed today :)

Karen, I haven't tried splitting the hosta yet- it's kind of on the back burner. Our focus for the last few days was getting Eren into their apartment, ready to start school again. Then I have a couple of medical appointments and start school myself. Woo! I'll probably also wait until it's cooler to split it. Might be October lol. Good for you with the cycling! That's so cool about the picture. :)

Carla, have fun with the girlfriends! Wish I had a bunch of women to do things like that with. The closet thing I have is book club, and I am the youngest at 50 (oldest is around 80).

Rae, oh, your poor doggo! I hope she recovers quicker than expected. I know what you mean about the coffee- I also needed extra caffeine today.

Ane - wish you were here with us. Our group is aged 45-80+ and we go for lunch, dinner, pub night, various game days, photo walks and go on day trips. I never thought such a small community (34,000) would have so much going on.

With Remi's injury, things have been chaotic and I just realized this morning that I haven't taken my thyroid med for 5 days. Good thing I remembered today. No wonder I have been feeling foggy and tired. Remi got good news yesterday at the animal hospital. She is building scar tissue up nicely and is weight bearing on her back leg. They are going to hold off on surgery, hoping that with careful movements for the next few months, she will be ok (at least for now). We are taking precautions, blocking off stairs, eliminating any jumping, have a ramp down into the garage, she has a crate for quiet time and sleeping and on Monday a dog play pen will be delivered that we can set up in the LR so she can be contained but have more space for gentle play and moving around. They said only 3-5 min walks for the next few weeks and then slowly build it up into more walks around the neighborhood. We have a walking path behind our house so its a great neighborhood for dog strolls. We have contacted the surgeon and will call them immediately if she limps/toe touches with her back leg which will mean, carry on with surgery but hopefully that won't happen. Her days of leaping into the air to catch her ball are over, they said that will be too much impact on the joint. She'll miss it as that is her fave thing to do but she'll adapt. I will have to do more mind games with her to work off mental energy rather than physical. We have made going up and down the ramp a "job" and she gets big praise for doing it and is so proud of herself, its so sweet to see.

We have friends coming over this afternoon for game day. Remi will have her pain/anxiety meds and rest in her crate for the afternoon.

What a crazy week. I'm so thankful that Remi might not need surgery.

Rae, so happy to hear that Remi may not need surgery and hoping that she will continue with a great recovery outcome.

Ane, wish we were all closer and we could have a get -together. I guess school will be starting soon for you? You are so brave to take this on for yourself school must be way different these days than when I went. I always wanted to take a university course in photography but unfortunately family and work took up too much of my time but that was always my plan, now I just let my son take most of the photos.

Ane, Hope Eren settles in their new apartment quickly. It is a good way to learn money management. I love my book club. There are only four of us, and three are over 60. One is in her 30s. She fits in with us :) We have been together for about four years, I think.

Rae, here's hoping Remi does not need surgery. Don't forget to take care of yourself, though. Please keep us posted.

Shana, your trip sounds wonderful. Hopefully, you will have your phone turned off. I can pack for 3 weeks in a carry-on. It depends on whether you are taking a camera or a computer. That does increase the space needed :)

Karen, you are keeping yourself busy with retirement and gardening. Our book club is organized around haircuts, oddly enough. The youngest member of our group is also our stylist. Her studio is at her condo and book club is on her day off. We all get there for book club, though, and get our hair done, then have a meal and our book club. It's wonderful.

Carla, I hope you have a lovely retreat.

I am getting better. Still a bit of a sore throat and cough, but feeling better than I was. Life is always really busy, between everything I do and homeschooling Bruce. This weekend was my 44th wedding anniversary. Well, Friday, but I was babysitting. Saturday, I had a funeral. We had intended to go out after the funeral, but there was really good food and my husband was too full. We went for a drive and I made steak and filet mignon for a late dinner. Today, my husband had tickets for Beauty and the Beast (Stage show). It was good, except I thought they could have done a better job with the Beast's costume. I found the poor costume distracting. It is unusual for this venue, they usually have amazing costumes and cast. Anyway, I am taking a break from prepping Bruce's homeschool to do this and I had better get back or I will never get any sleep.

Ha... yes, Lynnie... I debated leaving the DSLR at home, but I think I would regret not taking a "real" camera with me on my trip. I have a backpack where that camera lives, so that will have to be my personal item. I will start packing this weekend and I may have to change my mind about the camera depending on how that goes.

The camera got a good workout on Saturday. My daughter and I met the nephew who just started his senior year at a track in an nearby town. We met right at dawn and got some fun photos at the track (he's a runner), and then we went to his favorite cross country route. Other than having to work to avoid spider webs, we had a great time there, as well. We had all of the photos taken before 10 a.m. while the weather was still nice and cool. That afternoon, I attended a "crop" with a bunch of other ladies who were there from Fri-Sun. I only went a couple of hours. It was a very interesting event... around 20 people were there... some scrapbooking, some stamping, some knitting... it was cool to see all of the crafts and projects that people were working on. But most of the attendees had in their earbuds and were streaming movies. There wasn't hardly any conversation. So after I did a quick edit of the photos I had taken that morning, I went ahead and returned home. No sense sitting in a hard, metal folding chair when I can work from the comforts of my own home. Ha!

The nephew and I are meeting virtually tomorrow night so he can view the photos and pick his favorite. Then I will work on editing the ones he selected. I'm excited to see which photos he likes the best.

Hope everyone has a fantastic week! :)

Lynnie, Happy belated Anniversary!

Shana
, It is a shame that everyone wasn't talking up a storm, I thought this was the objective of having a crop get-together?? Mom & I used to go to one about every second month and we had so many fun times and met ladies and 1 guy from all across our province. Some are still good friends even though I don't attend crops any longer (since I went completely digital).

Our retreat was amazing! I was at a crop like that once Shana, for an entire weekend!!! OMG! Wish I could have left the minute I got there! I couldn't believe that all these amazing ladies were gathering just to "be alone". What's the dang point?!? "Needles" to say, I didn't go back to that retreat. The only benefit to that one was that the food was included and it was awesome!
Of course, we had noise on (they're all into true crime docu-dramas... WHATever) so that was in the background, but we've all known each other for years so we caught up on everything that's been going on that we didn't already know about. We went out to breakfast Saturday at a local place that makes their own strawberry jam for the toast! YUM! Then the county fair was basically two blocks down the road so our "uber" (Carissa) dropped a couple of us off right inside the gate and we ran in for mini donuts, cotton candy and funnel cakes. You know, fair-food-pyramid. "uber-Carissa" picked us up at the other end of the parking lot and we headed back to the house with goodies in hand and scrapped the rest of the day away! What a hoot-and-a-half. Never caught the fair before on one of our retreats, so that's one for the books. Amy had to leave at 7am on Sunday because she was hosting a .5km marathon at church. Yeah. You read that right. .5km! Apparently, it's a thing in SD and she got it from her sister-in-law and it was a huge fund-raiser. They're hoping to make it an annual thing here too. Total FUN-"run" where every couple steps there's something to eat, drink or do. Coffee, donuts, a toe-dipping pool, beer (cuz it's New Ulm which is one of our state beer capitals), a burping contest (I'm guessing after the beer?). Anyway, I'm waiting to see pictures. She also does a HUGE Gala (like dress-up met-gala-kinda-thing) and an "Amazing Race" through their town, both for the church. She's an absolutely ridiculous awesome fund-raiser. And she's my Stampin' Up! upline and has a part-time job in prison ministry. Kinda reminds me of Shana and Lynnie! Go, go, go!

Karen, I wish we could have a get-together too! That would be so fun! I start school September 2nd, which is odd because it's a holiday here, LOL! Oh well. ;)

Lynnie, I'm glad you have a book club too. Eren is settling in nicely. They have a boyfriend/roommate, which is an interesting situation. Yesterday they had an allergic reaction to something they ate (we think it might be agave). They really need to get allergy-tested sometime.

Shana, that does sound like the oddest crop. I'd probably bail too. It looks like you take a lot of joy in photographing your family- sounds like my husband. I used to be the family photographer, but I let him take over, especially as he has the gear now to prop up his hobby pretty well. So expensive though, LOL!

Carla, I'm glad you had a good retreat! Those kinds of things are important, I think. Your friend does sound like Lynnie and Shana, the Energizer bunnies!

I had a pretty good weekend. Saturday morning we spent volunteering at a church activity for kids then went shopping. After that we prepped to make peach jam, but Eren derailed us a bit when they came home for dinner. That was ok though, because we were able to cram everything in the fridge and made the jam after church yesterday. It is nice here this week, in the 70's and 80's, but will be hot again on the weekend when we're doing more volunteering. I don't have any plans this week other than my allergy testing (joy) on Friday. :)

A get together would be so great.

‘’I started outpatient physiotherapy and occupational therapy today.

‘’weather is a hot one here today for us.

‘’desparately need a hair cut

Lynnie, you’re going to have to share your packing tips. Three weeks with only a carry-on? I’m impressed!

Karen, indeed! I’m usually the ONLY digital scrapper at these events so they are kind enough to put me at a table next to an outlet. However, sometimes that has meant that I was off in my own corner. So I would make a point to walk around and visit. When I tried to do that this weekend, I realized how many people had in their ear buds. But who knows… maybe their family life is loud and chaotic and they were happy for some peace and quiet! Ha.

Carla, ha… I hear you. I was grateful that the crop was only 30 minutes from my house and I had my own vehicle and could come and go as I pleased. I can’t even say anything about the food… I’m working VERY HARD to lose weight and all the foods they had on offer were not good for me to eat. But yes… it all looked yummy. They know to never include me in the food count as I always bring my own. It’s difficult for me to justify paying to attend these crops when I don’t feel like I’m getting much out of them. LOL… loving the “Fair food pyramid”… I assuming anything on a stick would be at the top of that diagram? I saw there is a new baking show on Netflix that is all about State Fair food… so I’m sure I’ll watch that at some point! OMG… a .5km “run” sounds so much fun!!! I’ll have to look more into that!

Ane, ha… you’re right. I love being the family photographer. I have one very nice camera, but no other gear. I am happy to take family photos, but they’re always outside. No indoor studio / no lights / nada. And because I’ve been doing this since before the tribe of nephews and nieces came along, every kid in our family has also been taught how to use my camera over the years. So now that they’re adults, they will grab the camera when I’m not using it and get photos of me and others. It’s a lot of fun to see their perspectives. My daughter joined the photoshoot on Saturday as her cousin’s stylist. She’s really good about suggesting poses. She shot a couple of the locations, and it was fun to edit her pics. She has a completely different eye for composition than I do. So that gives my nephew more choices and variety in his collection of senior pics. How cool that you make your own jam! I struggle with any type of kitchen-related project. Like the time I set the cookbook on fire…

Sherri, good to “see” you! We had a week of extremely hot weather, followed by several days where our temps were waaay below normal. I can’t remember ever having to wear a jacket / hoodie in August before! Ha. Hope you get your haircut soon… I know that haircuts always make me feel better!

Shana... couldn't find thing one about the .5k fun on the internet! But I will check out the pix on Amy's page and let you know how it went and get you in touch with her thru FB if you're interested in more info. She's definitely a firecracker!

Good morning ladies. I am tired and a bit irritable this morning. Managing Remi is a handful today. I had to stop the meds as it was affecting her bowels too much. Poor girl. She has been crying at me almost constantly to go out and then can't do much. I managed to get a bit of pumpkin in her but not much, she just doesn't want anything right now. Good thing we are going to the surgeon in the morning and can talk about changing meds maybe.

I'll stay home this afternoon while Darrell goes to play cards at the center. I won't leave Remi home in her crate alone when she feels like this. Tonight we have a few friends coming over to play canasta so that will be a nice diversion for me.

Watched the season finale (had PVRd it) of The Cleaning Lady. I can't say that it was a great episode but was ok. I do overall really like the show so hopefully it will be back next season.

I want to start Apples Never Fall next. Anyone see it, like it? Looks like a good cast.

Shana, I go back and forth about the DSLR. It is heavy to carry when traveling, particularly my telephoto lens, but the pictures!!

Packing, I have two pairs of black pants that I rotate. I pack three tops and three light jackets that can be switched around and are very light. I pack two pajamas, two bras, five pairs of underwear, two pairs of socks, one pair of pantyhose, and one nice pair of shoes (my tennis shoes/walking shoes I wear on the plane). I pack a toothbrush, hairbrush, and minimal makeup.

When traveling somewhere cold, I have a heavy jacket that packs in the outer pocket of my carry-on, with a hat, gloves, and scarf. I add two sets of silk long johns and a silk top for layering. I can squeeze in heavy walking shoes as needed.

In my backpack, I pack my computer, chargers, iPad, and my liquids. For liquids, I pack toothpaste, face cream, shampoo, and body wash in travel containers.

If the kids ask me to bring stuff, all bets are off.

I love that you set a cookbook on fire - that sounds like a digital page.

Sherri, Glad you are getting the therapy you need, and hope the haircut comes soon.

Rae, Poor Remi. My heart is hurting for you both. I can imagine how irritable you feel and how hard all this is for you.

Julia - nice to see you!

Ane, good luck with the allergy testing.

OK - crop events! One of the best things about my last Digi home (that closed) was the laptop crops! We would all get together and crop on our laptops. We would often connect with other people at other locations using Skype. Now we could Zoom! I have been to Digi Crops in England, New Zealand, Canada, Northern California, Southern California, and Las Vegas. We had them all over the US, but I didn't attend all of those. Jill attended one in Australia, I think. Even though the site closed, we have had one or two crops since! It usually lasted several days and the designers gave prizes, we had a photo walk and all kinds of stuff.

How many people would come if we held one in California? I could host it.

What a neat idea, Lynnie. Sadly, I don't think I could justify a trip to California for a crop! But still, very cool!

Of the ladies I used to scrapbook with in the traditional way (back when Creative Memories was all the rage), I've offered to help teach them to digi scrap. Only one was interested and she became so frustrated with the learning curve to use the software that she gave up after an hour. I know this hobby isn't for everyone, no matter how much I love it. Ha.

Gosh... thinking back to the days when Creative Memories used to have this huge regional crops that would bring in hundreds of scrappers. My friend and I attended one in Kansas City. We had so much fun entering the contests, taking classes, shopping with the vendors. The crop also offered a bus tour of all the local scrapbook stores in the city (I think there were 6 or 7 at that time). Now, all of them are closed and the only supplies you can find are in the big-box hobby stores.

I think the best thing about digi scrapping is the ease of storing, organizing, and finding supplies; never "running out" of something; and not having to pick up all the backings of the tab adhesives. LOL! There were a couple of ladies at last weekend's event who have purchased those foldable wagons. They would make multiple trips to their vehicles to haul everything in. Then I come walking in holding only a laptop. Yup... digi scrapping is much more portable! LOL!!!

Exactly Shana! LOVE digi scrapping for that aspect! Now that I do card-making, I'm back to bring much more to an event than I used to with digi, but not nearly as much as when I did traditional scrapbooking. Omgosh... what a trip, when I think back to it. We have these neat kits called Paper Pumpkin. They come out monthly and I usually save them for crops because they're portable. They come in 5x7 boxes, make 9-12 cards, have everything you need to create the cards, except a block for the stamps and adhesive. So, I bring about 6-8 of those and some extra stuff and I'm set for the weekend. Last weekend, I parsed it out perfectly. I "almost" ran out of things to do. I was so proud of myself. hehehe.

Oh my goodness, it's been well over 10 years since I've been to a traditional crop! And that was back when I was a consultant for Close to My Heart, who closed their doors about 2 months ago. I did have a lot of fun, but yeah, the trips back to the car were not so fun!

In other news, our clothes washer died in the middle of a load on Tuesday (I went to a laundromat to finish it yesterday). The part we need to fix it can't be found anywhere (and we looked). So about almost $2K later, we'll get a new washer and dryer tomorrow. Glad we can afford it, but oh, our poor credit card! Hubby wants to stack the washer and dryer, but I'm not crazy about this. I'm 5'3" and don't really want to keep a stool in an already crowded room just to reach the top appliance, lol. Decisions, decisions!

Happy Friday,

Rae, HUGS for a speedy recovery for Remi. Thanks for the review on the "Cleaning Lady:, was thinking of catching that one. We just watched the first 2 seasons of "House of Dragons", season 3 is out but only 1 a week and we saw the first episode and it doesn't appear to be on again...HUH??

Lynnie, what a great idea for book club, lunch and haircuts! And, I like your packing tips and will have to keep that in mind for October's Italy trip...I always set out for a small pack and end up taking too much.

Funny story...NOT! Years ago when I took my first International trip to Japan, I took my LARGE suitcase as I was going for 3 weeks. The trip had multiple cities so a lot of travelling and every time we hit the subways I had to carry my LARGE suitcase up or down the stairs...all by MYSELF. Then on the last day when my son suddenly found an elevator!! I think he took a page out of my playbook from when he was young...I have learned my lesson!

Ane, glad you are getting a new washer & dryer. We had to replace our front load washer last year when I couldn't get the door open. Hubby had to force it open and water gushed everywhere even though it was right by the sewer. If went under my flooring so I ended up having to replace that too. I decided to buy a top loader again and love it!

Tomorrow, my brother & sister-in-law are hosting a pool party to show off their new grandson. I am super excited to meet him, he is already 2 months old but they wanted to play it safe with covid so I understand the caution with a new born. On Sunday, we are attending a family reunion on hubby's side...they have one every 5 years so it will be fun to visit.

How is everyone doing on the challenges? I have 16 done now, hoping for 20 and I have completed a ton of commenting. I love seeing everyone's layouts, so many outstanding ones!

Have a great weekend everyone!

Good morning ladies. I had a bit of sleep last night (finally). Remi is still struggling with severe GI issues but I gave her last canned dog food meal at 3 and then nothing since. She was able to clean her system out at 2 a.m. and then we slept for 4 hours. I'll be going back to the vet for more food and probiotics today. I really hope over the wkend her system settles down, poor girl. They have taken her off all meds which sucks b/c another week or two of anxiety/pain meds would have been helpful but not at the cost of her GI system. We are having pretty good success with crate, dog pen and leash restrictions. We have blocked off the couches and stairs. By the time we get back from our cruise mid Oct then, if she continues to heal and build up scar tissue, then I can increase gentle walking a bit more and let her walk the three stairs outside.

Ane - HOD season 3 isn't out yet so you must have seen some kind of promo for it. Season two just ended this summer. CTMH closed down? I never thought that would happen. I loved being a rep for about 10 years. I had hundreds of stamps and supplies. That makes me sad. I wonder if SU is still around? I was a rep for them for years too. But, once I went digi I never looked back.

Lynnie - I am on the fence about traveling with the big camera too but I just can't justify the weight and bulk when I try to travel as light as possible. Of course, I know the photos would be so much better with the biggie but at least my travel gear is good enough. I'm like you, I bring only a few things, all mix/match, mostly neutrals with one pop of color. I have a few lightweight warm jackets that don't take up a lot of room and bring things to layer i.e. one neutral colored vest, one short and long sweater and a couple of tees to wear alone or layer underneath. I get everything packed into my carry-on and personal bag. I check in one suitcase at airport but only with a few things and they are things I can do without if it gets lost along the way.

Karen - sounds like a fun filled wkend of family visits!

Carla - talking about the kits has me remembering my days of receiving scrapbook monthly kits in the mail. I would get so excited to receive the pizza box filled with goodies. I think I subscribed to 3-4 companies way back when. Good memories.

Shana - I used to love the crops years ago. The one I enjoyed the most was Creative Keepsakes. A bunch of us would drive down for the wkend when the yearly trade show and crop was hosted somewhere along the west coast. Locally, a few ladies hosted wkend retreats that were fun too. Traditional scrapping was very social (too social LOL I hardly ever got anything done except chatting and hanging out).

I'm off to host Mexican Train at the center this afternoon. We have been getting a good turn out for it. First week we had about 12 people and last week we doubled that. We are going to run out of tables if it keeps growing, then we'll have to figure out what we can do. Our little town loves to play games. It's such a social community.

I'm going to get more coffee and get a few chores done while Remi is sleeping. HAGD everyone.

Rae what is this “I'm off to host Mexican Train at the center this afternoon. We have been getting a good turn out for it. First week we had about 12 people and last week we doubled that.
