Hey everyone, I just saw on Jumpstart's FB page that there is a sale on all the kits. It says to send a message or your email for details...anyone know if this is for real or a scam??

I don't see anywhere on GS that this is advertised.

I’m not sure, I’ll send her a message and ask her directly :)

Hi everyone! Just jumping in to say that I hope you all are having a great Weekend. We had all of the family over today for a cookout in the yard. The pool is open and gorgeous! In the midst of all of the food and fun, my oldest granddaughter, Alana, broke the news that she is pregnant and due December 30th!!!! I am so excited I could just bust!!! Great-Grandma I will be!!!!!

Stickin' close to home.
Youngest DD's car bit the dust after 11 years so I gave her mine in the interim. We can survive with one for a couple weeks until she's able to find another within her budget. She needs something big enough to house her, the two kids and double as a storage unit for all their sports gear as they're in a multi-unit garage with no secure storage. That's proving a little more difficult than she expected with inflation. smh. But again, we can survive and now summer vacay is coming for me so I'd be staying at home anyway. Wish "us" luck! lol

Carla, what great news! I am so happy for you, and how nice of you to do the car thing for your youngest DD.

Carla- Congratulations! So exciting to hear a new little one is on the way.

Pool time with the g'kiddo's today.

Just popping in to say hello and hope everyone has a wonderful day!

Right back at you, Shana! :)

I survived my trip! Riding away from the grands was pretty hard, but at least we got to see them before we left. My poor DIL- Lena has lots of "big feelings" so when her daddy left to go to work, she had a fit. I think she probably had another after we left. She'd gotten so used to us being around. I had the best time there, going out with them but sometimes just staying home and playing with them was awesome too. I didn't get any pictures myself, but hubby and Eren did and I will be scrapping those. :)

Just popping in to say "Have a great day!" School is finally out and next week doesn't have too many things already planned so of course, I'm scrolling through Ginger Scraps to see what I can get up to. I sure miss being an active part of the community during the school year.

I'm moving to a new school (same job just a different campus where we are opening a "new" school in an existing building) and the choir room needs some love. I'm starting to work on some crocheted plant holders to hang some houseplants around the room to give it a more welcoming feeling and creating some posters to have printed.

Good luck to you. I still have another four days, but I'm "already done". I hate it when that happens, but this year has been really hard. Love my job, don't like the new "boss". Oh well.

Philip only has school 3 more days than it's all the graduation activities. Can't believe he's grown so much. Taller than me! And "acts" smarter. He can't seem to find a job anywhere. Every place wants you to apply online. He got two calls but no offers. He is planning on going to Nassau Community College (a two year college) majoring in Civil Engineering and Technology.
Molly will be getting her Masters in December. There was a little blunder in one of her classes which resulted in her taking that as an incomplete and she'll have to re-take it in the fall.
Jeff is working crazy hours. Almost ever other week he works close to 80 hours. That will be paying for his tattoo and part of our cruise.
We are going on a cruise first week in September (Labor Day weekend). We are cruising to New England and Canada. We've never been to Canada before. Going on the Norwegian Breakaway.
Me.. Had a miserable couple of weeks with a bad cough from allergies. Yesterday and today it seems to have settled in my ear. Can't hear well and it's painful. I started PT this week for my back. I've had pains on and off since December with the same area hurting and swelling. This is the same spot that I had shingles in. I lost probably close to 2 weeks of work on and off because of this. Hopefully PT will work.

Hope all is going well with everyone. I've read all and caught up as to what is going on with everybody.

Lily Ann, A lot going on with the kids but great they are all doing well. I hope you PT helps you with your ailments. I know shingles can be devastating, my grandmother and brother had it really bad. I finally got my vaccine for shingles last year so hopefully that will suffice.

Lovely that you are going to cruise, that will be fun! Where are you heading to in Canada?

Happy Monday, all!

Good luck to those of you still working your way toward the end of the school year. The schools in Kansas have been out for a couple of weeks already and our "graduation season" is complete! LOL! For my job, summer is when I get to switch hats to Youth Tour Director. In 10 days, I'll be meeting up with high schoolers from Kansas and Hawaii, then I'll take them on a week-long tour to Washington, D.C. My intern made me flash cards so I can learn their names before the students arrive. Our delegation will be around 40 people, but once we get to DC, there are 44 states participating with more than 2,000 kids. Happily, I only have to count the kids I bring. Ha. It's really fun as these kids are from all over the state of Kansas and island of Kauai... and most don't know each other. By the end of the week, they'll all be best friends and there will be lots of tears when they say their goodbyes. So you won't hear much from me during that week (and then I usually need a day or two of recovery when I get back). LOL!

Happy Monday!

On Saturday, hubby and I went to pick strawberries and got rained on a little. Then we went shopping at all the places. It's fun to go out with him every Saturday morning- I sure do enjoy the time together. When we got home, I did some scrapping and just relaxed. Sunday was church. We went on a short bike ride and cleaned strawberries to freeze. We love having them to add to our morning oatmeal and other yummy concoctions.

This week is a big birthday for me, the big 5-0. How did I get to be this old? I know that is still young compared to a lot of you. :) I'm also doing lab work, massage, physical therapy, and date night with hubby. So much fun!

I hope you all have a great week!

Happy birthday, Ane! I hope you have a wonderful celebration filled with lots of memories!

I know what you mean about enjoying time together with your loved ones. Each day after work, Randy and I go for a walk. We use this time to just share our day with each other and just connect. It's always the best part of my day.

Yesterday, we walked even though we were between storms and the weather was hot and sticky (yuck), then after supper, we cleaned out his half of the garage. We are one of those couples that you can always tell which is his half and which is mine... whether it's the garage or the bathroom vanity, or the bedside tables. Mine is neat and orderly, and his is... not. LOL! He's been looking at a specific car make and model for the past three years, and he's finally decided to buy it. He found a couple of dealerships that had the vehicle (none were local) and he had a ball negotiating with the different salesmen to see who could give him the best deal. Oh my... I think he enjoys the "hunt" more than the actual purchase. Long story short, he has purchased a vehicle and will pick it up this week. So he was finally motivated to clean out the garage so the car will have a place to keep safe from weather. It's been YEARS since that garage was cleaned out and it looks sooo much better. So he gets a new car, and I get a clean garage.... win/win!

Happy Tuesday everyone!

Happy 50th Ann, wishing you a great day!

I love spending time with hubby too and now that I am retired we do almost everything together.

Shana, Our garage is my hubby's sanctuary, he knows if I touch something on his work bench...LOL! What kind of car did hubby purchase?

So today was supposed to be my first day riding with my new cycling group...and it is raining AGAIN so it was cancelled. I guess the stationary bike is going to get some use today.

I was panicking on getting my Europe book completed as the deadline was approaching but they sent me an extension so now I feel more calm again. I think I have about 10 pages to go but I am getting a creative block and I still have to proofread (I hate when I have a spelling error!!).

Have a great day!

Karen, if you're able, please share your Europe book once it's completed! :) Hubby purchased a Cadillac Blackwing. Or as he's been calling it, his "midlife crisis car." LOL! Actually, that will probably be the title of the scrapbook page I make of his new ride! LOL!

This time of year every year I am working on multiple large programs that require tons of detail work. For our summer convention, I finally was able to reach the logistics handler of one of our keynote speakers. This speaker charges more than I've ever paid for a speaker before, but I found a sponsor to cover half of his costs. When talking with the handler, we agreed to purchase this speaker's book and he will autograph them for our attendees. All well and good... but THEN he dropped the statement that we will be charged $10 per book for his autograph. Good grief. Maybe I should start charging for MY autograph! LOL!!!

In more exciting news, later this month my nephew's family is hosting a joint birthday party for their kids... my great-nephew will be turning three, and his little sister will be turning one! So I'm very much looking forward to all that cuteness!

Have Phillip ask to speak to the hiring manager as a follow-up to submitting his application online. When my son turned 18 and was trying to get his first job, he filled out many online applications (and if you stop somewhere to ask about applications, they normally tell you to fill it out online but they don't tell you to follow up!) and no calls, but when he followed up with something like "Hi, my name is ____ and I filled out an online application on ____ date. I'm just following up to see when I might be able to come in for an interview." After the interview, always follow up with a "thank you" email if they have provided a point of contact. It shows that you valued their time and are truly interested in working there. The first two places my son did this with immediately set up interviews and he got a job offer at one of them.

Good luck!

It is a relief when you finally have some time for scrapping. I am planning a little in the very near future. I am retired, but between babysitting and participation in various clubs and charities, I seem to overwhelm myself and leave little time for the fun stuff.

Right back at you, Shana! :)

Glad you got some pictures to scrap, even though you didn't take them yourself. It sounds as though your DIL has her hands full. Hopefully they get it under control before Lena is a teenager :)

50! You don't look it, you look amazing.

Good luck to you. I still have another four days, but I'm "already done". I hate it when that happens, but this year has been really hard. Love my job, don't like the new "boss". Oh well.

Awww - I was the opposite - I loved my boss and co-workers, but I didn't like my job. I liked some parts of it, but it was my boxx and my co-workers that kept me sane!!

That is some achievement! I like spending time with my husband, too. He is a saint!

Have a great day!

That is too bad about the cycling group We had some rain here, which is unheard of in June! You can finish up the Europe book. Do the pages, then go back and redo them before you turn them in. Getting started is the hard part. I always find a spelling error the first time I open a book I have done, no matter how much I proofread :)

Have Phillip ask to speak to the hiring manager as a follow-up to submitting his application online. That really does work! I had my kids do the same thing.

From Sherri:

I caught a bug right after I got here on May 23, I’m still in isolation, maybe tomorrow I am off it. We had a family conference with the care team today and they offered another 4 weeks to work on things.

I hope it helps, it’s not great in here. I want to be the best me I can be, it’s hard for me to make the recognition of myself for improvement or not.

Can you let the waffles know I’m still alive. Lol. Thankfully.

I think I am caught up on everyone's. I am not caught up on anything else. I am a little tired and crabby and I have to drive over an hour to spend the day with a friend. I am just not in the mood, but I love her to bits and she needs me.

I think I have said that I babysit four days out of the week. I drive to my son's on Thursday morning and come home Saturday night, then I drive up and back on Monday. I get days off from time to time when I have special events. It occupies a lot of time. Bruce is on the spectrum and has some difficult behaviours. Most of the time, though, he is fabulous. Scarlett is easy as pie most days. He is off for the summer, and we are going to do a test trial of home schooling for Kindergarten. He has Childhood Apraxia of Speech and kids make fun of him in the playground. He is getting speech therapy, but it is a lot for a child to cope with. To make it even more difficult, he is smart and extraordinarily talented artistically for a four-year old. We will give it a trial and see how it goes.

On top of the four days babysitting, I am involved in the Daughters of the British Empire at the local and state level. It is a charity, but we do get to eat sandwiches and drink tea! This month was our annual June Faire, so lots of work for that. It was loads of fun, but I worked really hard for it. Then next Saturday, the State Board meets at my home, and I am a bit anxious, because all the houses so far (we rotate) are lovely and my place is more like a flat and is little and pokey. It is not elegant, sort of a mish mash of all the things I like. Plus I have been so busy with the June Faire, the crafting area is a disaster. I got Friday and Saturday off babysitting for this. I have to cook and all.

I am also involved in the Camera Club and had the beginning of month Flyers to get ready.

So yesterday I had a DBE meeting of the Western States at 9:30, met a friend for lunch who had flew in from Illinois for a wedding, met another friend in the afternoon who had flown in from Virginia for a graduation. In between all that, I had to get copies of the Camera Club flyers approved and distributed. Notes from the morning meeting had to be compiled and distributed. Plus I have so much paperwork for the meeting on Saturday. It feels as though my days are all like this.

Today I am still in my pajamas until I head up to my friend's house.

I love everything I do, but I get really tired.

Another message from Sherri:

I should be out of isolation tomorrow, I was very sick for about ten days.

Alexis got back just before I came in, she was on jet lag coming back from Ireland, 9 hour flight. I am an inpatient in the small hospital our city has. I’ve been here since May 23. Next family conference in July hopefully big improvement by then and some leveling off. Or still improving.

She also said she is very lonely and doesn't have much to do. She just has her phone. J

If anyone wants to send her a card or something:
