Good afternoon. I just caught up on everyone's posts. I always enjoy reading about what's going on in everyone's lives.
I think my last post was how excited I was to head to Tampa and escape the cold. I did make it to Tampa and it was overcast and rainy, but still about 50 degrees warmer than back home. I had to cut my trip short when my hubby took himself to the ER back home. I flew Southwest Airlines and their customer service lady helped change all of my tickets at no charge. It would have been perfect... except Mother Nature had other plans. I was mid flight to Texas when all of the connecting flights to Kansas City were cancelled due to weather. So I ended up at a hotel in Dallas to sleep a few hours before returning to the airport and heading out on the first flight. Our daughter picked me up at the airport and we made it back before Randy's surgery.
Long story short, hubby has kidney stones and one was the size of a marble. The blasted it with a laser and thought I should be able to take him home that day or the following day. But nope... that was Friday. Today is Sunday. He MAY be discharged tomorrow. He is reacting badly to the stent they put in to help flush his kidneys and is unable to manage the pain. He's also traumatized by seeing blood when he uses the bathroom (my daughter told him something along the lines of "welcome to the club." Ha... she wasn't very empathetic to him on that point). We've had a great nursing staff, and I need to come up with some sort of thank you gift for the main crew. He had JUST had his gallbladder out five weeks ago, and now this... I swear that man can't catch a break. I asked the doctor if we could have a punch card for each surgery, but apparently that's not a thing.
He's sleeping now, so I ran over to my office as I couldn't remote in. Apparently, our new cybersecurity person set the computers to require a password change while I was gone, and I had to do that in person. Ah the joys of technology.
Between my travel, my meetings, my crazy adventures getting back, and bouncing back and forth from the hospital to home... I'm tired. We are expecting another ice storm later tonight. So I'm at the office now to crank out a few things so I can hopefully work remotely tomorrow. The rest of the week will be above freezing temperatures, so I very much hope I can take Randy home. I've been so ancy being at home at night without him, that I've been doing projects instead of sleeping. Last night when I couldn't sleep, I cleaned out the fridge and the freezer. So, hopefully I'll pass out tonight... or maybe I'll rearrange my closet. Ha.
