Oh my goodness, Lynnie, I've done crazy stuff like that too. You're not alone.

Re: Everyday Chatting and Waffling - Let's get to know each other more!

8 inches of snow last night - another 10+ expected this afternoon and tonight - a good weekend for staying in and studying and scrapping.

Re: Everyday Chatting and Waffling - Let's get to know each other more!

Happy Saturday everyone. Yikes on the cold weather some are experiencing. It was a gorgeous day here today but rather warm once past noon. My car said 93. By the time I got home it said 88.

I went to my grandson's peewee baseball game today. He hit the ball -both times at bat and scored twice. Fielded and threw to the correct base from left field-ish position. The did very well at first base. Even fielded and got someone out. He was so proud.

I finished the crochet of a dress for my granddaughter with matching hairbows.

That is a lot of snow for Spring in mid-April. I hope your weekend was as cozy as it sounded :)

You must be so proud of your grandson! That is always fun to watch when they do so well.

I saw the picture of the dress somewhere - it is gorgeous!

Re: Everyday Chatting and Waffling - Let's get to know each other more!

Crazy busy weekend.
  • Reorganized office, changed furniture around, downsized stuff. This was a HUGE job, almost like moving house. I have too much stuff.
  • Made fascinators (hats) for a wedding luncheon. We are selling them to club members Tuesday, at the lunch and also at a fair in June. Out of the four people who showed, I was the only one who could make cute ones. I was pretty pleased with how they turned out. It will be a big job to create them all myself though.
  • Got my hair cut / coloured.
  • Held my scrapbooking club meeting from 9 to 2 on Saturday. I was tired from reorganizing and getting my hair done. My stylist gives me wine!
  • I made wedding invitations for my daughter's best friend's wedding. One batch went 'missing' at the post office, so I reprinted 60 with printed envelopes and directions. Then we found out that several had been delivered over the weekend. Too bad we didn't find out before I put so much work into them. HOwever, we had not stuffed, so she can use the stamped envelopes for her Thank You cards.
  • Son Steven and DIL Vanessa came to visit on Saturday, so hung with them for a while and had fun.
  • Cleaned carpet and various other household cleaning activities.
  • Did some digital scrapping - not enough to post anything, but maybe tonight.

I am glad to be resting at work.

Re: Everyday Chatting and Waffling - Let's get to know each other more!

Thank you Lynnie. Now onto the next set of projects.

I couldn't imagine all the snow the north is having. It was chilly here today in Florida. 61 this morning and very windy. Only a high of 66.

Re: Everyday Chatting and Waffling - Let's get to know each other more!

Wow, my weekend was nowhere near as busy as yours! On Saturday, we went to a church activity with my daughter, then drove a 1/2 hour or so to shop for hiking shoes at REI. Then we came home and shopped at Sam's. Sunday was just church, nice and calm, I taught a lesson. This week I'll be mostly absent, because we're taking a trip to Chicago to visit with my brother-in-law and his family. It should be nice, but chilly. Looking forward to it, to taking a lot of pictures and scrapping them later! :)

Oh, I forgot church as well :) How could I forget that! Enjoy Chicago - and take lots and lots of pictures to scrap.

Oh no, Sherri! That happened to one of my good friends Tuesday. She had a very bad break of the femur that went right into the hip. They did surgery on Tuesday night. I hear it is really painful, I hope your mum is not feeling too awful. And your poor daughter. Hopefully they are at least in the same hospital, and hopefully you have someone around to give you a big hug.

Oh wow, not a good day! (((HUGS)))

I am back home! It was so nice to visit and do things, but my feet are tired, LOL! Now to sort thru all my pix and find things to scrap. :D

Re: Everyday Chatting and Waffling - Let's get to know each other more!

It is so nice to put your feet up when you get home from long and wearying times like this. Scrapping is great therapy. Hope everyone is doing a little better.

Oh Sherri- So sorry to hear about the fall your mom took. Big hugs there and prayers for both mom and daughter and YOU!

I made some genealogy progress yesterday. Connected with a cousin. We share the same 2x great grandfather!

Sorry to hear that Sherri. :( I know what it’s like being in hospitals. My dad suffered a severe stroke back in May, and we spent every second weekend from May until October (when I suffered a severe concussion, which meant travel was no longer allowed) travelling between the city where we live and the city where my dad was in hospital (which was 2 hours away one way). I still can’t travel more than an hour without exacerbating my symptoms, so although my dad in now in long term care, I haven’t had a chance to visit him. :(

Re: Everyday Chatting and Waffling - Let's get to know each other more!

On the good news front: I’ve been accepted to a PhD program with full funding and a nice stipend for a Fall 2018 start! It’s been my dream to pursue doctoral studies ever since I started university, but life and health managed to get in the way somehow along the way. I finally have the opportunity to pursue my passion! I can’t wait for August to arrive (I have a week’s intensive studies in August).

In four year’s time, if all goes well, you’ll have to call me “Dr.” Caylynn!

Re: Everyday Chatting and Waffling - Let's get to know each other more!

Sounds like everyone has been super busy
I have just recently stepped back into my volunteer role at my kids AFL football club so the last 2 weeks have just been gobbled up by football organisation in preparation for round 1 on the 20th April. We are so behind for the season but the weekend went off without a hitch thankfully as I was ground marshall for 3 of the 4 games. My step count for those days was awesome but terribly exhausting
I wish I had a few more hours in the day to scrap as I am having withdrawals not being able to be creative but things will pan out again soon I guess. We are also busy with 2 shop fronts we have to completely re-signwrite before the 1st May & 1 has to be done before the 14th may & I just had a call from a new client enquiring about getting her shopfront done. Good to have work especially as so many companies are undercutting others to get jobs at the moment. Just hoping & praying we can get everything done in time as my daughter has just started her first job to add to our already hectic mix
Enjoy your day everyone
cheers Sam

I go in spurts on my genealogy. I have my mother's mother traced back to 1604, but the balance of the family are pretty stuck in the 1800s, which is very inconsiderate of them :)

That must be so difficult. I hope you can at least keep in contact by phone, or letters. Even if he is still not able to do a lot from the stroke, someone could probably read things to him.

I think this is so amazing - you have my admiration. After I got my master's degree, I decided there was no way I would ever put myself through that much work again. And here's you... wow! I am so impressed.

Sounds as though your life is really chaotic! I have been feeling the same way, but took this whole weekend to scrap and it was marvelous. I had such a feeling of satisfaction and relaxation.

My husband was saying he really felt I needed to get up and move around more. He says that I really need some more exercise. He adores me and does not want anything to happen to me, so he nags me about things like exercise, in a nice way. He is wonderful - 37 years of marriage, almost 38 and he still adores me. I quite like him as well :).

Went to my All Class Reunion Saturday. They happen a few times a year where all the classes who ever graduated from High School get together and have a great time. There were a few hundred this time around. Not as many from my class as usual, but some of my really good friends showed up, so that was fun. I don't usually stay too long, though, the noise gets to me.

I am going to be very well behaved and go to sleep now. I have a tendency to start scrapping or commenting or other things and never get around to going to bed. Then I suffer at work the next day.

How was everyone's weekend?

How was everyone's weekend?

So so busy, friday night & all saturday was aussie rules football for our family. Then hubby went to another game on the sunday & met with a photographer from getty images, got some hints & tips from him about sports photography & took a whole bunch of photos for the local mens & womens teams.
My youngest had a party to go too but it got washed out halfway through so we went to a friends house to let the kids run off their extra energy. then it was home to do a bunch of chores & get ready for another week.
My daughter survived her first day of work washing dishes in a cafe & is keen to go back, pretty proud of her effort
Today is tuesday in oz & I have 9 parent teacher interviews tonight so madly trying to get a bunch of work done before I head out for that. Hubby is out building the base for a 7m (about 22ft) long billboard for one of our clients. Hope everyone has a lovely day, tomorrow is ANZAC day here so I might get to scrap a little after we pay our respects

Re: Everyday Chatting and Waffling - Let's get to know each other more!

wow another week has flown by & still no time to scrap .. sigh
but I did buy some new kits, hopefully I can scrap with them soon

That's so cute about your hubby! And yay to almost 38 years! And super cool about the class reunions you attend. I have never been to any of ours, the latest was 25 years and I skipped out. But there are a few of us who get together when we can, unfortunately many have moved away....

Wow, Sam! You are super duper busy between football volunteering, all your signs (very cool by the way!) and your children!
Hopefully you get a chance to scrap with your new scrappy goodies soon. ♥

Re: Everyday Chatting and Waffling - Let's get to know each other more!

I can't believe it's already Friday! Time has flown by for sure.
Lots of new scrappy goodies coming next week with Buffet and iNSD...woohoo!

This weekend will be fun. Tonight: Avengers, Sat: Joey's basketball tournament, Sun: Joey's Track meet qualifiers.

And in between all that... laundry, laundry, and more laundry... ack!

Re: Everyday Chatting and Waffling - Let's get to know each other more!

Wish I had some awesome plans for this weekend, but my hands are somewhat tied by DD's activities. She's been gone so much this week I've hardly seen her. Maybe next weekend we can catch Avengers, but tomorrow is shopping and hopefully scrapping a bit. Excited about iNSD though! :)

Re: Everyday Chatting and Waffling - Let's get to know each other more!

The darling g'kiddo's just left after an almost 12 hour day. They were wonderful. Today was Sarah's 2 1/2 'birthday'. "We" made birthday cake [cupcakes]. She picked out a new bathing suit and of course I took pictures.

I wish my DH would move more...I am moving all the time, and treasure the workouts I have at the gym.

Back to some LO's. along with processing photos.

OH, and on the genealogy front- the cousin I found has come up with a ton of information dating back into the 1600's that has been corroborated by the state of NY. Still looking at state records in NJ. [where I think they originated.] On my father's mother's side, I am native American.

I hope you get to scrap soon. I have a bunch of hats to make, so my scrapping time will be all used up this week :(

I love our all class reunions, I have met up with friends I haven't seen in years and we get together regularly now. Even when you haven't kept in touch and you don't remember each other well from high school, you have so many shared memories to build a friendship on - shared friends, teachers, football games, classes, places, the time you lived, who was popular in music. It is a curious connection I never anticipated. Since the All Classes started, it has been great. The actual reunions (we are starting to plan for the 50th) are more formal and loads of fun. The All Classes are usually at a nice upscale bar with plenty of room. We wear name tags with our class on them.

Wow, Sam! You are super duper busy between football volunteering, all your signs (very cool by the way!) and your children!

Amen! Hope you can, too, Sam.

I avoid laundry like the plague. I would show you my laundry basket, but I am SO ashamed :)

Is iNSD [inter]National Scrapbook day? Do we do a lot here? Remember how new I am. I forget sometimes because I am so dug in here, but I have really only been active since last September.

Sounds like a busy weekend for you!

I remember the days when every day was being a mum and there was no time left for my own awesome activities. I do miss those days - sometimes.

Me, I have a weekend of making fascinator hats for the Royal Wedding lunch my Daughters of the British Empire chapter is putting on next weekend. Somehow I found myself in charge of table decorations. Busy week getting everything ready at the last minute.

Re: Everyday Chatting and Waffling - Let's get to know each other more!

My son and I went to the library this morning to apply for our passports - going on a cruise with my family in August! Now getting ready to do some schoolwork. I'm sad I'm busy next weekend for iNSD.

its been an extremely emotional week . My daughter got very ill from the infusions and ended up in the ER last weekend. She still isn’t feeling well, but still went to a GirlGuide event this weekend she committed to.

We we received confirmation she was approved for out of country funding to go to Mayo Clinic in Rochester Minnesota for a heart operation. We have been waiting since October for approval. It’s scary but so positive.

Then in within hours of that fantastic news I found out my mom has colon cancer. She is in surgery now, we need to know how severe and far far it spread. A very emotional stressful week.

Spring came, which is awesome.
