Sugar Cookie : GingerScraps Praise
One of the wonderful things about GingerScraps is the camaraderie that we have here. In this thread, we are working on getting to know each other better and learning a little more about what is going on in each other's lives.

June is a busy month for me.
  • Daughter Karen is visiting from Nashville
  • Son James is visiting from England
  • (Above means I have seven people in a 1000 square foot home!)
  • Wedding on June 29th
  • Video to get ready for wedding
  • Daughters of the British Empire Faire on June 9th
  • Hats to make for June Faire.
  • Annual church meeting to prep for (I am on church board)
  • The never ending battle against my weight
What's going on in YOUR life ! :)

WOW! a busy time for you for sure!!

Well- school is out for my grandson [he just finished Kindergarten].
We took my vacuum in for a full cleaning etc, and ended up purchasing a new sewing machine [for me!].

My knee is doing better [only had one way to go],

My scrapping and photo processing is a never ending story...

and we are taking a trip later this month.

Happy June!

This month is a big one for me too - it's graduation time! My dad is arriving from Australia on the 18th to come to the ceremony on the 21st and then we are going on a week-long road trip.

And I know how the weight battle goes. I've battled it all my life with very little success. :(

well we have the 2nd footy game out of the way for the weekend, I am just about to head down to print out tickets to sell for our red, white & black ball for later in the month then hopefully relax for the rest of the day.
We have my youngest son birthday at the end of june, he turns 5, I feel like the are growing up way too quick.
My teenagers seem to constantly fight & the younger kids copy, so I feel like I am just constantly breaking up fights.
Winter has kicked in here so the nights are pretty cold but living in the tropics the days are beautiful & still warm enough to wear t-shirt & shorts ... until the sun goes down
Take care everyone, have set myself a goal of attempting at least 1 layout this week

Glad your knee is doing better - how is your vacuum now you have a new sewing machine :) I love your layouts - they do tell the story of your life! And let me guess, is your trip a cruise?

Does ANYONE else out there clean house before a housekeeper comes. I thought I would treat myself to a housecleaner today. My daughter arrives on the 6th and my son arrives from England shortly after that. I thought it would be lovely to have a clean house when they arrive (they wouldn't care, but I think it is a nice gesture!) I got up this morning and started cleaning frantically so she would not think I am a slob. Then I stopped when I realized how silly that is!

I just got home from a 4 day spur of the moment trip to Disneyland and California Adventure! My niece Kayla (she is 26 and an RN working in the NICU at Stanford) was up for my daughters baby shower and said "Hey aunt Ginger, wanna go to Disneyland on Tuesday?"

How could I resist?? LOL
So I packed my bags and my trusty laptop (so I could still work when needed) and off we went!

My other "niece" Rebecca (she is 21 and in school to become a elementary school teacher) went with us. She is actually not my niece - she is Kaylas cousin, I know it's a bit confusing lol, but she has always been like a niece to me too.
We had so so much fun!! It was really a perfect trip!

I got home yesterday and I am now packing another bag to go camping with my kids in a few hours.

My son graduated High School on June 7th.
My first granddaughter is due to arrive in 4 weeks! I am sooooo excited! :)

I'm surprising my kids with a trip to DL/CA next month! They know we are going on vacation but have no idea where and won't figure it out till we get to the airport!

I'm trying to get up the motivation to finish a paper for the class I'm in right now, it just isn't happening though, may need to take a nap instead. My knee is bothering me more today than it has in a while and so I didn't sleep as well (knee replacement the end of November).

Oh my goodness!! That is awesome!!
The best tip I can give you is to use the Fastpass system! We paid a little extra to have the Maxpass on our phones using the Disney app. One person in our group logged it all on their phone, we got fast passes for every major ride. We virtually never waited in line for any rides. It was awesome!

I finally got round to designing a signature and entered this month's challenge. I'm now trying to actually add it as my signature and I can't get it to show up. I've into my settings, uploaded the file, and it says it is there as my signature, but it isn't showing up on my posts. Any ideas what could be wrong?

I will definitely be doing MaxPasses! I've preordered and everything will be ready when we get there! I'm so excited to surprise them and we will be staying in the Disneyland Hotel as well. :) Lynnie is planning to join us for part of our first day to be a tour guide and show us how things work! :D

I'm sorry - but Disneyland and I was not invited? I may have even been there on one o those days :) You should come back down when Sarah comes down and make it a GingerScraps event!

Congratulations on your son's graduation and your new grandchild on the way.

I believe in naps! I also believe in procrastinating on papers. I hope my knees last forever.

OK, so I did take a nap this afternoon, went to church with my son, celebrated his birthday with a special meal (and ice cream from our favorite ice cream stand), and then worked on my paper. I made good progress and only have 2 questions to finish writing - which I hope to knock out tomorrow so I can get it to the course mentor for review prior to submitting it for grading. Then I'm half way done with this class!

Glad you had a great day and well done on getting some work done! I'm currently working on my assignment and the AHIMA website is down, so I'm kinda stuck right now.

Whew - got my paper done, e-mailed it to one of the class mentors for review prior to submitting it - fingers crossed that it looks good and I understood everything that was asked! Now to work on the reading and other paper for this class. Ideally I would like to finish it this week, but not sure that will be possible since I don't find enough motivation on week nights to work on stuff....especially when I would rather be scrapping - something I've neglected in the pasts few months.

Contests have winners (like "Survivor") and challenges are participation, and personal stretching!
