Y'all sure have a lot to talk about. This is already page 15. I woke up early today and thought I might get a start on posting in the forum and here I find I am way behind. I don't even have anything to say but "hope you have a great day today."

Demma, there is never any catching up, haha! We are a chatty lot. Keep posting and don't worry about past posts.

Lynnie, I like your avatar and siggy too, but your siggy disappeared??? Are you changing it again?

I have a lot of "fun" stuff coming up this week, like visits to the eye doctor, dentist, and PT. I need to schedule my annual wellness exam and think what I want to talk about. They will only let you talk about 3 issues, because they have to conserve time, which is fair. And as a spouse of a retired military member, I'm not exactly high up on the priority list, LOL.

I hope everyone has had a great weekend so far, and continue on to have an awesome week! :)

Ane, I can see my siggie ... I hope you can too... I am not sure why you would not be able to.

I am feeling a little overwhelmed. I have a big event this weekend. My friend is coming to visit from England for a month, and during that time, we have Scarlett's 1st birthday. It doesn't sound like a lot, but there is much prep work. I have to do some craft stuff for the event this weekend. I have to make lots of plans for my friend's visit and I have a lot of things to make for Baby's birthday. The problem is, I just feel like being lazy!!

Lynnie, your siggy is back! I wonder where it went to??? Good luck with all your plans this week- I know you'll be able to get it all done! :)

Wow Lynnie you are the busiest person I know and I am sure you will accomplish it all. Enjoy your time with your dear friend!!

Hi Everyone I remember a few of you from back when I was a more regular poster, unfortunately, life got a bit busy & I had to take a break & I have only just got back to scrapping in the last few months in amongst been unwell.

My 2 youngest boys took up robotics & ended up winning their way to world champs in Texas about a year ago now but we were unable to secure funding to get us from Australia to Texas without selling a kidney. Was super proud they got to be State & National champs for their age. We were unable to compete the next season as I got sick, Dr thought I had ovarian cancer but many months & tests later it appeared to be a cyst & endometriosis. Was supposed to have surgery & an endoscopy over Christmas but nothing happened & have been bumped to another specialist who I am seeing tomorrow & hopefully have a better plan moving forward & finally get this pain sorted.

Life is funny, things can change so quickly. Anyway I better get back to work, had a busy morning at school sorting through the robots for the upcoming lego sumo contest the kids will be competing in

Hey there fellow Aussie Sam...I hope you get some answers to your health issues soon.. Congrats to your boys, they sound like a pretty clever couple of kids!!

I'm pretty sure there are a lot of clever, techie people here so I need to ask a question.....why is my Google Chrome search engine defaulting to Microsoft Bing when I enter a search request?

Up to your ears again Lynnie? You are the busiest person I have ever known I think. Don't forget YOU in all your activities for others.

Into autumn here downunder, my favourite time of year, but it is still too hot for me. On the last day of summer, 29th Feb, the temperature reached 39C and has been mid 30s every day. The days are noticeably shorter now so the sun is shining for fewer hours which makes it more bearable.

Hi to all, take care, stay well, have fun.

Jill, do you do Daylight Savings Time there like we do here in the states?

Keeping myself busy with both jobs, house, family and still unpacking stuff we boxed up during the move.

I was at work yesterday and was having trouble getting on to Facebook to look up a company's information. I think by now everyone knows FB was down for about an hour or so. I got busier than usual with phone calls work related. I guess everyone figured they should do some work that they couldn't get on FB. LOL!

LilyAnn, yes we are currently in Daylight Savings time here downunder, it finishes on April 7.

Hello to you too fellow Aussie Jill, I think you have commented on a few of my layouts since I have been back. Thank you much appreciated.

Finally have a surgery date for next week to remove cyst & get endometriosis removed. Had no idea you could get Endo after having kids so it was quite a surprise to get this diagnosis but hopefully this will fix up that problem & I can get back to my weight loss so I can get off this blood pressure medication.

My boys are currently working on their lego sumo bots for their upcoming contest. Sumo bots are as they sound, a special robot that is a set weight & dimension in a mini sumo ring & they have 1 minute to push the other bot out of the ring. The kids have to build & code the robots to run autonomously as they aren't allowed to touch the robots again until the time is up. Then in May we begin Vex robots again & try again for the Worlds in Texas. I wish we had robotics when I was at school but I am enjoying being the helper mum & learning as I go with the kids. It has been fun helping in the classroom & getting to know all the kids

Its been a pretty rainy summer here & now we are into Autumn but kids & the dog are still swimming in the pool

Better get back to work, have a bunch of things needing to be done before I can scrap. rtake care everyone

I've just realised you must be south of me as we don't do daylight savings in Queensland
We did it for one year as a trial & most people said nope, not doing that. With local elections coming up there is always one wannabe that keeps trying to bring daylight savings in again

LilyAnn, yes we are currently in Daylight Savings time here downunder, it finishes on April 7.

Jill,

I found this:
To completely remove Bing as the default search engine in Google Chrome, you need to follow these steps:

  1. Open Google Chrome and click on the three dots in the upper-right corner of the screen.
  2. Select "Settings" from the drop-down menu.
  3. Scroll down to the "Search engine" section and click on "Manage search engines."
  4. Find Bing in the list of search engines and click on the three dots next to it.
  5. Select "Remove from list" to completely remove Bing from your list of search engines.
  6. If Google Search is not already listed, click on "Add" and enter "Google Search" in the "Search engine" field, "google.com" in the "Keyword" field, and "https://www.google.com/search?q=%s" in the "URL with %s in place of query" field.
  7. Click "Add" to add Google Search as your default search engine.
If Bing keeps coming back as your default search engine, it's possible that there is malware or a browser hijacker on your computer. You may want to run a malware scan using an anti-virus program or use an anti-malware tool to scan for and remove any potential threats.

I hope that helps,
Big hugs

Hi everyone. Alexis gets back from Toronto tomorrow.

I am so glad :)

That sounds amazing - my husband watches Battle Bots from time to time. That is the closest we have come to a competition. I am so sorry you are unwell, but welcome back.

Haha! I like that attitude - if you couldn't get on facebook, maybe you could work instead :)

Lynnie – love the siggy! Hopefully you can recruit your friend to help with some of the planning for the party! My friends and I always put each other to work when we visit! LOL! And no… I do NOT want the “crown” of being the busiest! LOL!! I refuse! Run away… run away!!!!!

Sherri – did Alexis have fun in Toronto? I’ve enjoyed watching her travels via Facebook.

Sam – So glad to see your post! Robotics and Legos sounds really fun! Hopefully your new doctor will give you some answers so you can make a plan.

Jill – it’s still technically winter here, but we had some temps in the 80s… then back down to the 20s… so yeah, it’s all over the place. Maybe I should come visit you during our winter and warm up!

Lily Ann – I was so excited when I learned our government was (again) looking at doing away with Daylight Savings Time. It’s going to be so confusing with some states following DST and other states having a year-round standard time. Oy vey!

I just returned home yesterday from our national convention in San Antonio, Texas, where I got to play paparazzi for the Youth Leadership Council (44 high schoolers, each representing a different state). We had a blast, and I’m sure I’ll have lots of layouts from those photos. Besides the convention meetings, we took the kids to the Alamo, on a river boat tour, an escape room, an immersive art exhibit (they had one installation that was a huge ball pit and another that was a huge trampoline that had interactive lights that would follow you as you jumped around). The kids also put on their own “talent show” – and I use that term very loosely – on our last night. So I’m still feeling very sleep deprived. Hubby finally felt good enough health wise to travel with me, but he woke up this morning with a horrible cold / sinus thing. I hope he feels better soon, and I really hope he doesn’t share his sick germs with me.

I’m looking forward to a quiet weekend where I can start working on all of the fun challenges at GingerScraps this month! Well, after I get the laundry sorted! LOL!

We are going back on Daylight saving time this coming weekend. I was hoping that it would be done away with but (sigh) not just yet. In the meantime, I am not looking forward to the rain that is to come tomorrow and Saturday. We have had plenty rain the past week or so to last for a bit.

I know I do not comment very much but I am here nearly every day reading and keeping up with you all. Have a great weekend!

I think I might be in the minority here in this thread and in fact in our state. I quite like daylight saving, or at least, it doesnt worry me...once the first couple of days of the change are over, I dont even notice it. My Dad, as do most farmers around here, hated it, he would look at the clock and say 3pm, but it is really only 2pm. People I know actually believe that the "extra" hour of daylight faded the curtains, prevented them from getting the day's cash takings to the bank on time, and other weird beliefs. Too each his own I guess.

Lynnie!! That sounds WAAY too techie for me, I am an IT dodo you know. Speaking of which there are some TV ads running in our country advertising Dodo telecommunications server, they are very entertaining.

I like Daylight Saving too Jill. I'm always sad when it comes to an end and it's dark (or very nearly) by the time you get home from work.

I actually like Daylight Savings Time as well. I can get a bit more done outside in the early evenings if I need to. But, if you look at it logically, the daylight hours are going to change on their own anyway. It's all just a clock thing to mess up your brain! LOL

I could probably help with it :) Or you can recruit a grandchild!!! haha.

Thank you Lynnie, I rang my techi guy and he helped me over the phone...I was nervous though, I am scared to play too much in settings.

So how was everyone's weekends? I did the same things I normally do, go shopping, dink around on my computer, watch some college basketball (on Saturday). On Sunday I got up reluctantly (I do not like Daylight Savings), went to church, spent some time with Eren, and went to 2 choir practices. Got some scrapping in too. :)

The week ahead, I have a doctor appointment and the cat has a vet appointment. I've got a couple of church activities too. Should be pretty fun, assuming I don't have any surprised from my lab tests.

I hate when things go awry on my computer and I also get nervous about playing in the settings. I am lucky though that my son is a computer technician by trade so if things needs fixing I just call on him. It is easy for him even when he is traveling so that is one reason to have kids...LOL.

I have been working on my last room in the house...my crafting room and it needed to be cleaned and sorted since it was a dumping ground for extra's in the house. I moved all my cabinets downstairs for now so will probably do card making down there...just upstairs for digital scrapping. It has been a long road to getting the house for sale when the time comes....hoping this spring.

I will post some pictures once it is completed.

I spent the weekend caring for my hubby who managed to catch the flu. And he was so kind, that he shared all his germs with me. Sigh. So I stayed home today and slept for most of it. I just emailed my boss to alert him that I will NOT be traveling with the staff for our board meeting this week. Ah... it's good for my coworkers to have to cover for me from time to time. I'm about to head back to sleep and hope I wake up feeling better. Bleh.

Lynnie - Thanks for the welcome. The lego bots & Vex robots don't battle as much as the battle bots on tv. The age group my boys are in it is just more of a collaboration between the teams. Once we get into the higher league (if they want to go that far but just the field cost is around $3,000 AUD) for Vex robots that is when they start battling but not till the death they each have a strategy they have to come up with to score more points or prevent the other team from scoring points, depending what the game is for each season. Vex is kinda cool as each season brings a new game so the teams cannot make the same robot each season. Looking forward to May when the new game comes out & we can get started again!

Jill - Most Queenslanders are not a fan of Daylight Savings its just too hot & sunny 24/7 to be messing with the timezones. In saying that it does work in other states. Here DLS would be best suited to winter so we get an extra hour of sun in the afternoon as its dark by 4.30-5pm in winter, we could do with the extra hour for the winter sport training cause as soon as that sun goes down its cold.
Hope you got your tech issues sorted. i have when windows changes your default browser. It keeps trying to change my firefox browser to Google Chrome or edge so I just go back into the settings & change it - there was a super easy way to fix it but my memory is like mush at the moment from lack of sleep

Shana - Thank you, Going in for operation to remove cyst & endo tomorrow afternoon, fingers crossed I am in & out without too much drama or complications. Did not think you could get endo after 5 kids but apparently, it can happen but its not common & the specialist said I am peri-menopausal so that will be something to follow up with the GP once I am mobile again.
Sounds like a grand time with the Youth Council, sorry to hear hubby is sick, hope he is feeling better soon.

Ane - Sounds like a wonderful weekend. I went to watch my eldest sons first practice AFL football game of the season & even though my younger boys & I set up our shade tent & umbrella & 1 son & I got sunburnt on our legs. I think the umbrella was actually reflecting the sun onto us due to the lining in the umbrella. I may have to find some special fabric paint & paint over it so we don't get burnt next time. Good luck with your appointments, hope it all goes well

Karen - I know how you feel about cleaning up where you have dumped stuff! As I have been unwell I have just been making doom piles all around the house until I can deal with them properly, only problem is hubby & the kids have been adding to them so I no longer have any idea what is in the piles. Yesterday my middle child helped me sort through a few piles & we have got rid of a bunch of rubbish & have a pile of stuff for donation to charity which has taken a load off my mind. Ther eis still a lot to go but as long as I get it done before the inlaws visit in late April I will be happy

I hope everyone else is doing well & getting some time to do what you love.
I had a tough time uploading my ct layouts this morning, all the credits dropped off every upload & then I finally got them to stick the formatting was all over the place. Not sure if anyone else has had that problem in the gallery before but I did find a way around it in the end.

I better get back to work, have a few things to get done before surgery tomorrow & have to find lunch as I have 1 boy home today doing his online university course & 1 home sick who is supposed to be studying for exams he has next week but somehow keeps ending up watch DragonBall Z

Take care all

Sam: I think the bots are so interesting. I get quite excited :) I am glad you are enjoying this time with your children. Keep us posted on your surgery. That sunburn sounds terrible. You would think the umbrella would be designed so it didn't reflect burning rays onto you. The problem with credits not sticking is an ongoing one. Ginger has invested a lot of time and effort into trying to prevent it, but to no avail. Usually, I just edit and re-add the credits and they stick just fine.

Jill: I am glad you have a techie guy to help you. We have states that are on daylight savings time and states that are not. To further complicate matters, some indigenous reservations do not observe daylight savings time, even though the state they are in does. It is quite complicated.

Shana: I am so sorry to hear you are not feeling well. It is good to just let go of responsibilities from time to time and it is great to have people who will pick up the pieces.

Ane: It sounds as though you have a nice weekend planned.

Karen: My craft room has been on my to-do list for weeks. It is fighting me. Not the actual organizing, but the mental block I have in getting started, haha.

I have had a few busy days (surprise surprise!). I babysat last Thursday and Friday. Saturday was the state Annual Council Meeting for the Daughters of the British Empire. I was elected to the State Board and my daughter was there to take pictures. She is a third-generation member of the charitable organization. It was very exciting. Sunday, Son Steven, his wife Vanessa, and two children came for the day. Bruce was pretty noisy and managed to scribble over a few pages in my Bible. My son was horrified, but I reminded him that children are more important than a few scribbles. I can still read it. I won't leave it out again, though. You turn your back on them for a minute or two and boom! Monday I babysat. Yesterday was a doctor's appointment and a massage. I also cooked and cleaned. Today I am still in my pajamas. I had to prep for the Bible Study I am leading tonight, balance my bank account, and come to visit here :)
