I think I used to do that "take on too much" when I was younger and had more energy for creative things. Not much time for creative these days so I feel like I can barely manage the required CT stuff. I wish I had more time to devote to what I love to do. I gotta figure out how to quit a job or two. Actually in two years when my soccer player is graduated then I can quit my jobs. Now that puts a smile on my face. Oh but then I will miss the soccer. Dang it!

Yup - you got the image :) that is exactly what I am looking like - on a daily basis. I am 63, Heidi, so not so young :) I can barely manage CT and Sugar Cookie, along with church, charity and hobbies.

I agree. My kids are all grown, gone or in heaven. I look back and think how things might have been different, but they aren't. I miss them being around, but I keep in touch and have grown up relationship with them.

Exactly the same thing happened to me. My mother and I got sick, so I had to call my brother and my kids and tell them to not come. We had cooked and everything. We rescheduled to next Sunday.

Then he got a load back home earlier than he thought he would, so I stayed here in Arizona hoping he comes back next week. Where are you getting your degree from? I'm in Western Governors University right now pursuing my Bachelor's in Health Information Management!

I'm finishing up my 2 year degree at Shoreline Community College and will be eligible to sit the RHIT exam this summer. I want to do some studying before I do that though! I've also completed a certificate in Medical Coding and Reimbursement at the same time, so I can also sit the CCS exam as well. :) When are you set to graduate? Are you going for the RHIA credential?
 
Does anyone have a recommendation for a good printing service I could use to get my layouts printed?

Good luck! I am going for my RHIA - set to graduate in Feb 2021, but hoping I can do a few extra classes per term to knock that back to August 2020. I used to have my RHIT, but let my credentials lapse when I was a stay at home mom. My suggestion, don't wait too long after finishing to sit for the certification exams, gotta keep the material fresh!

Hang in there...work hard and be persistent...you will get there! I am going to apply to take the exam after my father leaves from his visit. :)

Happy Saturday. I've had a busy last 8 days [mostly g'kiddo's and genealogy finds] and looking forward to my grandson's baseball game this morning as well as the hockey game this evening. Plus some quiet time.

I have a question: From browsing around the forum, I have noticed that the majority of layouts that people do don't have any journaling. Does anyone know why that is a trend? I kind of see scrapbooking as a way to get out all the stories I have related to photos and it kind of defeats the purpose if I do a layout without any extra text associated with it.

Well it could be a two-fold...
1. The poster wishes to keep the journaling private.
2. They have used a stock photo and creating the page to promote the designer.

both occur. Frequently.

All my pages are about us. My family and friends. I do sometimes blur faces of other children [not related to me, or that do not wish to be seen on internet] as well as journal, because it is private. I CT- [creative team to promote designers too].

Just got back from 3 days of camping/Scout training. It rained every day and I didn't sleep well, but I survived. Yahoo!!! :D
 
I went with my son in his semi to take a load to Arizona. He got a load rather quickly back so I stayed with my daughter's family for a week while I waited for him to come back to get me. I had a lot of fun riding with him in his truck and spending time with family down in Arizona

I journal some and don't journal others. Sometimes I have pages with the pictures and I do the journaling on a separate page in handwriting. I think a lot of people just like to see their photos all prettied up or the pleasure of creating artwork :)

Surviving is always good :)

Well, my husband and I got up in the middle of the night and watched the Royal wedding. I loved it. I love the drama of the wedding and I totally LOVE the hats :)

I spent yesterday in downtown Los Angeles shopping for wedding stuff for my niece. We bought her a wedding veil, a headpiece, chargers, champagne glasses, and a gazzilion other things. I also got more stuff for hats. I have a charity faire coming in June and we are selling fascinators. I have a bunch to make still. I also found somewhere that sold them really inexpensively and we can resell them.

This morning I went to church, I was managing the coffee shop today. It was my first time, the folks who usually do it were on holiday. It meant I had to stay for all of the services. That was okay though.

Then I actually spent time time cleaning house - rare thing! My son and his wife were coming over. They would not care if everything was a total disaster, but it is nice to prepare a place for them. We were celebrating Mother's Day, since I was sick last week. It was a lovely day.

Back to work tomorrow.
 
I don't usually journal on my pages shared here because I am pretty rubbish at it & when I do it can be a bit personal & not alwasy something I want to share with the world

I'm so glad you jumped in. Congrats on your degree and graduation. That is so exciting and to have your dad fly in is just the cherry on top. So where is PNW?

That is a lot of college! Hey, my son-from-another-mother is heading to Shoreline to play soccer in August. We will for sure be up there to see a game or two this fall. We should meet up for lunch or something. :)
