Please take part in this poll to see what software we all use for our digital scrapbooking.

Also please add a reply sharing with us what software you first started to use and what you now use if you have changed it over the years.

If you have never changed then please still share what you currently use.

I started way back in 2008 using a very old version, possibly the first of PSE (Photoshop Elements) which came free with my Canon Scanner. Once I saw how fun digital scrapbooking was I moved onto PSE6 then in 2009 when I started to dabble in designing I bought CS3 and now since 2012, I use CS6. I still own a PSE on my computer as I use it for when I scan things as my CS6 does not have the ability to import from a scanner.

I use Affinity Photo on my older iPad. The poll says affinity but I wanted to specify because there are more than a few affinity’s.
im open to help others but am in no way a pro.

I use the free version of the Over app.
I only scrapbook on my iPhone. I have no desire to scrapbook on my computer as I love that with my phone I can scrapbook anywhere. I only have an older iPad which can not support Affinity or Photoshop, so my go to app for scrapbooking is the Over app. I started exclusively with the Project Life app, but it is far too limited for my preferences and after using it only for a couple of years I branched out into Over.
There are a few other apps that I use now and then but Over is my main scrapbooking app. It doesn't allow as psd files so there are some things that I can't do or use, but I am pretty good at figuring out ways to make Over works for my needs and am very happy with it.

I started dabbling in "scrapbooking" right out of college but what I think I was really doing was getting to know the software. I had a bunch of store bought products like PrintShop II and lots of Disney PrintMaster programs, even a Pokemon one. It wasn't until I got married that I truly started scrapbooking with those programs. When that computer crashed we bought Photoshop Elements 5. I've had that for a number of years until I started getting mentored to design, that's when I upgraded to Photoshop Elements 10 and that is what I still use today.

I tried PSE many years ago but since I already used PS to edit with, it was easier for me to learn digi scrapping with that. I have stuck with it, never feeling the need to change.

I started with some version of PSE back in 2006 (before that I was all about paper scrapping) until I started doing some designing a couple of years later. I moved to CS2 then 3 after that, and now I use (for a few years now) PSCC.

Thanks for starting this Anne-Marie, it is always interesting to hear people's stories. I started with Paint Shop Pro v6 (I think). I loved PSP for several years and moved on up through a couple of later versions, but found that Photoshop was the more used programme and online resources/tutorials were more prolific for Photoshop over PSP so made the switch some years ago. Currently using PhotoshopCC.

I started out with Digital Image Pro (now defunct) and moved on to Paint Shop Pro (now JASC, I think). then Photoshop CS2 through CS2 and on to Photoshop CC. I have also used Photoshop Elements at work and teach a very basic class on GIMP, which is pretty amazing when you get used to it for a free software...

What a fun poll. I started with an earlier version of photoshop, and then switched to CC when it became available. With all the enhancements, sometimes I feel like I'm learning a new program. LOL! But I'm loving how the AI features help with my scrapbooking. I use the generative fill for a lot of background when using photo masks that are a different size from my original photo.

Translated with IM Translator

In 2007 I got Photoimpact as a gift and learned how to use it in a German forum. There was also some scraping there. Later I switched to PSP X1 and still have versions 2019, 2020, 2022 and 2023. I scraped with it for many years. In the meantime, I got an old CS2 version and in 2023 I bought PSE. Since the beginning of this year I have been using Affinity Photo, and now brand new the free version Affinity from Canva.

My favorite program is PSP 2022 and now Affinity

Ok don't laugh.

When I started out I used the Scrapbook Flair program and then I used photoshop and one of the photoshop elements programs. I've used a little bit of gimp too. But a long time ago my mom, who liked to do use photos in programs wanted to buy this software which cost $100 at that time. So, me and her went halves on it. It is called Microsoft Digital Imaging. I have the 2006 version. And since I've tried other programs but keep coming back to this one. I still used it everyday to make pages and I make kits with it too. Only problem with it is a few years ago Microsoft quit supporting the program. I want to buy one of the newer versions but they're still high in price.

So far, I've still been able to use it with all the versions of Windows. My computer still has windows 10 on it and can't be updated to windows 11 or that's what windows keeps telling me. I have recently bought a new mini pc computer that has windows 11 on it. But I'm afraid to set it up yet because I don't know if my Microsoft Digital Imaging will work. As it is, in windows 10, I can't use any new fonts in it. That's my only battle with the program. I used to could use any font. But then maybe it wouldn't let me because of windows 10.

So that's me. I use Windows Digital Image Suite 2006. I guess you can laugh if you want. But everything I do in this program is so very much easier than using photoshop. I can't find anything in photoshop that I can't do in this program at least for me. LOL

I used Photoshop the longest, then PS CC when it changed to that model.

I then bought PSE to avoid the CC fee. It was hard learning PSE after using PS for so long so a few years ago I switched to Canva. Organization and search in Canva were challenging so I moved to Affinity Photo. And now I'm using Affinity by Canva.

Two computer crashes later I am up and running again. For some reason older versions of photoshop or photoshop elements will not work and have wiped out two computers. Has anybody else had problems getting them to load? I heard they want to charge a monthly fee now? I had used pse7 since I started scrapping but it will not load it crashes the computer???? I guess I have to find and learn another program like it especially one for templates as I use them a lot

GIMP works, Linda, and it is free. It is a bit of an adjustment, but it is a good alternative if you want a powerful program that doesn't cost.

I use Photoshop CS and Affinity Photo.
Affinity Photo is FREE and you can use PSD and TIF templates! It take a little getting used to, but I was able to lear it pretty quick. There are a lit of tutorials on YouTube, not many that are specifically scrapbooking related, but you can still generally find out how to use it.
I plan to make some tutorials this year for Affinity Photo on iPad. BUT I think the tutorial will translate to the desktop version of Affinity too.
It's defiantly worth checking out since it is free!

I switched to Photoshop CC a couple of years ago from PSE and I've never looked back. I still have eons of stuff to learn but that's part of the fun! I also use Lightroom to edit my photos.
