What order do you do it?

Ok, I just started a layout that I was inspired to do because of a meme I had shared 2 years ago on Facebook showed up on today's Facebook feed. I did the journaling first (all the while crying). I mean there is no paper, pictures or embellishments on the page. Just a long row of journaling.
This got me wondering. What order do you do your layouts? I normally do them picture first.
So my order would be: 1, 2, 4 and then 3

  1. photos
  2. paper
  3. journaling
  4. embellishments

I do papers first (I generally know what photos I will be using)
then I add photos
embellishments
journaling
This is my general order but sometimes I do the papers, then journaling, photos and embellishments

Great question!

I start with selecting the photos and the matching kit. Then I usually choose a template. Once I'm in PS I add all of the papers. Then I move onto ellies. Next comes photos and last journaling.

Usually I start with the kit, find the pictures and then select a template or scraplift. Once in PSE I add in the papers, elements and then journaling. Interesting how everyone has their own way of doing things.

It depends - if I'm doing a layout for a kit that is from a CT then I start with the kit, then photos, then embellishments, then journaling. If I'm using a template for a CT then I start with the photos, then the kit, embellishments, and journaling.

If I'm doing a page that doesn't involve anything from a CT then I usually do photo, paper/kit, embellishments, and then journaling but once in a while I'l start with a great kit that I'm itching to use.

If scrapping for a CT commitment, I start with the kit or template, then find photos to go with them. Then I place the photos, choose the papers, add the title and journaling, and then the elements.

If scrapping an event or photo I want to scrap, I start with the photos, then pick a kit and template (sometimes kit first, sometimes template first), and then the order is the same as before.

I'm exactly the same! We're such creatures of habit. :D

I do photos, then Kit and add papers. then I play with embellishment and sometimes I do that with the papers too and title and journalling is last.

Prior to CT role, I always chose photos first then matched up kit and template (if using one). I often would have the title and story half sorted in my head before choosing a kit as well..then fiddle and faddle with it all ongoing:) It has been a big learning curve for me to do it the other way around when showcasing designer kits for CT work, but also a good experience.

Photos first, then papers, then sometimes journaling or embellishments and vice versa.
