What Are You READING? ☀️ {SUMMER 2026} June, July & August

I just finished Guest by Mary Downing Hahn...
Last November, I asked my 16-year-old to grab me a couple of 'easy' reads for a couple of 4 hour plane rides. I did not read much on the plane...and only read about 1/4th of the book at that time. I recently decided to finish it so that I could start reading Project Hail Mary for July's book club. I started that last night and I'm already loving the humor. (I'm only a chapter or two in...)

I looked up Guest and it sounded a little like the old movie Labyrinth :) I loved that movie!

I hope you enjoy Project Hail Mary, I loved it!

I'm currently reading Count My Lies by Sophie Stava : Description from Google : The story centers on Sloane Caraway, who tells harmless fibs to make her life more interesting but accidentally cons her way into becoming the nanny for a wealthy and privileged New York couple, Jay and Violet Lockhart. Once inside their seemingly perfect brownstone, Sloane quickly realizes she is not the only one harboring secrets, and the household's web of lies threatens to explode.

I picked it up because it it soon to be a Hulu original series, and I love to read the books before shows or movies come out :)
It stars Shailene Woodley as a compulsive liar who nannies for a glamorous couple played by Lindsay Lohan and Kit Harington. So excited about this cast!!

I'm about 40% into it and excited to see where it is going to go!

You know what I love about this chat...it has inspired me to read more and books that I would not normally choose. I have always been an avid reader but for years I was so busy with my growing family and work it made it hard to fit in. I love all the recomendations and everyone's take on the books and I am trying to fit in as many books as I can now as I rekindle my love of books. Thanks everyone!

I've been seeing things about this show for a bit. Had no idea it was based on a book. Definitely gonna put this one down to read next!

I haven't been reading much but plan to get back into it. I love to start the day with my coffee and book. I got sucked into youtube first thing in the morning and am going to change that. I read Jojo Moyes' Me Before You and now am going to read the following two in the story - got After You downloaded today and then will read Still Me to finish up the trilogy.

I also reserved The borrowed life of Frederick Fife by Anna Johnston

I put the Susan Lucci book in my kobo app.

This will keep me busy for awhile.

Attention all readers! Come vote in the poll for our GS Book Club August read :)

I just finished reading "My Next Breath" by Jeremy Renner. WOW, I heard on the news about this accident he had but WOW an ordeal he went through. I highly recommend this read to anyone who wants to hear a heartbreaking story of survival!
I'm a big fan of Renner. I will put this on my list.

I added Me Before You to my list! <3

I hope you love The borrowed life of Frederick Fife by Anna Johnston!! I LOVED it so so much!! I've read 2 books since that one and I'm still thinking about it and all the characters.

Count My Lies is now reserved at my library too. I've got lots to read now over the summer. I have a digi subscription to Queens Library in New York and here in my little town in Alberta. I still have long wait times for most books but eventually I get them. I can listen to some audio versions too when I am driving back and forth to Calgary. Glad you guys have inspired me to start up my reading again.

I have a library app too! It has been amazing! The waits can be long for some books, but there is still SOOO much content, I have lots to read (or listen to) wheel I wait for my holds to become available. I use an app called Libby and I have 2 library cards from the counties close to me, I live in the border between two counties, so its great I can easily have library cards to both, it opens up a lot of books for me to choose from! And if one library doesn't have a book, usually the other one will have it.
So fun that you are reading again! <3
