Let's try this again. :)

Please use this thread to post your weekly fitness accomplishments, along with any other health and wellness bits you want to share.

Your host is Caylynn, regsitered dietitian, master of public health, and certified group fitness instructor.

While I can't answer specific questions regarding diet or exercise (i.e. I can't prescribe them unless you are a patient of mine), I will happily provide more general tips and answer any general questions about nutrition and exercise (i.e. general recommendations for the population, my opinion on fad diets, etc.)

Today is a rest day for me. Yesterday my husband and I went to Upper Canada Village, which is a heritage park that depicts a town from Upper Canada (Ontario) from the 1860s. So we did a lot of walking. I also have a dental appointment today, and one of our cats is having a dental as well! So rest day.

What are you doing for health and fitness this week?

This morning I did a 5K walk/run on the treadmill. It's crazy hot and humid out, so I'm very, very glad we have a treadmill!

Anyone else being active this week?

Anyone else being physically active this week, or engaging in other forms of self-care?

I did my physiotherapy exercises this morning. My legs are sore from my walk/run yesterday!

This morning I did a 3 mile walk/run, then my physiotherapy exercises.

I had physiotherapy this afternoon as well.

Anyone else being physically active this week? Or tried a new healthy recipe?

Ever since we came back from our trip, I've been a bad, bad girl! lol... zero physical exercise!
Actually, back in June, I had really bad headaches, even went to the ER one night. Ever since then I've been bad.

I really need to get back into it again, I can feel my body deteriorating :(

I am so proud to say that I only gained 3 pounds while on our cruise!! I even ate/drank whatever without thinking about the calories - I just wanted to enjoy myself. I was way more active than I had been in a while and walked way more than I have since I started having knee problems - and I could tell!! My knee was throbbing most nights by the end of the day, but I wouldn't trade the fun and sights we saw for anything.

This week, I lost 2 of those 3 pounds, and had about 45 minutes of cardiovascular exercise/day (walking most days, riding my exercise bike once). I also did my physical therapy exercises every other day like a good patient.

You're not "bad." It's hard to get back into a routine after a vacation, or an illness, or any sort of interruption! Good luck in getting back into things!
