Lynnie, do you find you sleep better the night after you get adjusted. My father used to sleep like a baby after he'd come home from being "clicked".

I do, usually, but right now I am really sore.

He adjusts my neck more than anything. It sounds like a machine gun when he adjusts it. He said it is one of the loudest adjustments he ever makes, haha. I always say "Ow!" but it is more the surprise than anything else, it does not hurt and it feels great after. My back will NOT adjust, no matter what and he used his knuckles to press into the ribs on my back where they meet the spine, so they is pretty sore.

Not sure how many of you know Meryl Bartho from the galleries. Meryl lives in South Africa and was away from home when the riots there started.

Meryl and her husband Ray traveled home late yesterday in a group of about 12 vehicles and all made it home safely. They are ensconced at home. There are so many pictures now of the folks from South Africa cleaning up the areas that have been destroyed. They are working hard to restore areas that were damaged, but they say it will take years to rebuild the damaged infrastructure, plus they are in the third wave of COVID. It seems that the worst of the rioting is over, we hope. It was interesting that the former President's son (the ex-president who is jailed) recommended that the rioters "loot responsibly and peacefully."

There are long lines at supermarkets, but Meryl says they have enough supplies for a while.

Lynnie, Oh dear, I am so glad that Meryl was able to make it home safely. Terrible news from South Africa, I am praying for peace.

Good morning ladies. Glad that Meryl made it home safely. What a terrible time.

I've been busy this past wk with desk work, CT work and getting papers off to our accountant (late doing taxes this year...ugh). My new phone came yesterday (iphone 12 pro max) so I've been busy setting it up and learning how it works b/c it's different than my old samsung phone. It takes amazing photos for a camera phone and am happy that I can now facetime with Bailey on my own phone rather than relying on my hubs' iphone.

We're heading out to the bird supply store soon (they sell huge bags of seed so I only need to get a few bags a year) and the dogs will enjoy us all going out together. Later I'll get some desk work done b/c there were software issues throughout the wk and it slowed down my productivity. I'd rather do a bit over the wkend than have Monday be a nightmare with all the backlog and then new stuff coming in to transcribe.

Later we'll binge watch some shows on the PVR b/c we should be getting our new internet/tv installation on thurs so want to watch as much as I can and some of the rest I'll find on netflix or maybe on the new on-demand we'll have with the new provider.

So at the end of the wk if I disappear for a few days you'll know why...the new installation didn't go smoothly but fingers crossed they get it all hooked up ok but we've always had problems with new installations so I'm hopefully but expecting glitches.

I'm heading out now, hope you all have a good day.

Good morning ladies. The wkend flew by. I spent yesterday at the beach with my daughter and the dogs. Then grabbed Subway take-out for us all. We sure were lucky at the beach b/c apparently they closed the gates just a few minutes after we passed thru (COVID rules for capacity). Bella swam for the first time but Remi was hesitant. She is so close to doing it and I think by the end of the summer she will.

Today is lots of desk work and CT work (isn't it always? LOL) and will get the dogs out for a walk later. I've been buy setting up my new iphone and so far am loving it. My hubs should be getting his delivered today or tomorrow I would think as we ordered them at the same time so his shouldn't be too far behind my delivery. Got my pink case for it yesterday and now just have to get the glass screen protector.

I'm getting to work now. Have a great day everyone.

I had a regular, not-busy weekend. We didn't even go shopping! We did get to go to a vocal recital four our friends' daughter. She is a wonderful singer! We also picked some blackberries and bought peaches at a local farm. So fun!

Yesterday was a normal Sunday for us. Church, nap, dinner, etc. Nothing out of the normal there. Today Eren started their 2-week band camp and I have some awful abdominal pain. Sigh. But I had a LO nominated for an upcoming LOTW, so that is something positive! :)

Sounds like everyone is just as busy as me...tomorrow I get to have my grand daughter over for the day. Woot Woot!
There are so many forest fires in many provinces, here in Manitoba we have a few burning and the wind is pushing it through the city. There is a haze over the skies and a warning to turn your air and intake off overnight as it makes it way through tomorrow. Luckily the weather is cooling down some so we may be able to stand the air off overnight without the window cracked open.

Sherri, how is the fire situation your way? You must have some drifting from the BC fires?

Rae, you must be affected too...I hope you can still get out with your pooch!

Well off to eat fresh banana bread, have a great evening everyone.

My area of Alberta has had thick smoke from the BC fires and Pacific Northwest, our air quality rated 10+ on a ten scale. Outdoor pool closed, spray parks, and ball diamonds closed. Cautioning not to do outdoor exercising, or air intake.

BC has so many fires and most out of control as does Saskatchewan. Winds either way will give us smoke.

most of you know my family has a hereditary heart condition called Long QT Syndrome. It was nine years ago that I was found unresponsive and had to be resuscitated. Not from a heart attack but from cardiac arrests from the undiagnosed long qt. It was after that when we found out my daughter had it too, my mom had it and passed it on as did I. Two of my sisters inherited it too. Wanda had a cardiac arrest 14 months after mine and suffered a severe brain injury, and then later passed. Long QT is an electrical fault of the heart, it beats so incredibly fast that it just quivers like jello. So these last three days are the ninth anniversary of me having to be resuscitated over and over. We call it a rebirth day in the heart community. I call it my nine bonus years. I have got to see my then 8&12 year old babies grow into a 21 and almost 18 year old. That makes me so incredibly happy. Very special days for me. I know nothing of that time, my family has the horrid memories of me being on life support, being told to plan a funeral, and seeing more tubes coming out of me than they could comprehend. Saying their final goodbyes to mommy. Just emotional all around. Point being I guess, is I encourage you to learn cpr, and how to use an aed, you never know when you might need those skills. However 911 will walk you through cpr, and an aed will talk you through how to use it.

Sherri, So amazing that you survived, you are a fighter and your journey was not over yet. Hugs your kids everyday and Stay strong, girl!

Last night we had to keep our windows closed and turn off the air due to the blanket of smoke hovering over us. The sun was bright orange peeking through what looked liked heavy smog. The saving grace is the heat wave relaxed and this morning we have thundershowers. The news feed this morning reads "North America chokes in smoke like an ashtray from space." That puts a damper on my bike excursions! :(

On the bright side, I am getting lots of layouts done this month, I am determined to get my Arizona book completed by mid August!

Off to work this morning, have a good one!

Heatwave and fires in the western part of Canada, the highest temperature in Death Valley ever. So weird! I live in The Netherlands and we have for this time of year very unusual floodings due to rainfall. More than 80 litres per square meter! Lots of damage to houses and streets. Luckily not where I live.
And than in Germany, Belgium, Luxembourg and Austria, there are floodings too, even more severe than in my country. More than 150 people died! It is really heartbreaking too see houses, cars, trees to be swept away by the water.

My dear, sweet Sherri! I've known your story for years. I had no idea your rebirthday was the same day as Lacy's birthday! Now I get to celebrate TWICE! So glad you're still with us.

The day I had my first one was July 17 and needed full cpr and resusitation "crash cart" and they jworked on me for around 90 minutes, I was then put on hypothermia treatment "cold" to try to reduce brain injury. On July 18 every time they tried to "warm" me up I would become unstable and need more CPR and resusitation. then on July 19th a nurse checked my vitals and "fluffed my pillow" and again I crashed and needed CPR but converted before the shocks were needed. I was then life flighted to a larger city, Calgary, and stabilized. It is up in the air if my re-birthday is the 17, 18 or 19. I like the 19th as that is the day I was stabilized and the last of them, but the kids like the 17th because it was the first that started all of them. shrug.

I am sorry to hear about the flooding in Europe, the heat warnings and high temps really dried things out which have led to the fires, that and the drought we are in. The town in BC that recorded the highest temp ever in Canada shortly after burned completely. "
Third time is a charm for Lytton, B.C., after setting a new record again for Canada's hottest temperature -- hitting 49.6° Tuesday, surpassing its previous records of 47.9°C on Monday and 46.6°C on Sunday. Jun. 30, 2021" then the next day "A wildfire has burned 90% of the village that recorded Canada's highest ever temperature, the local MP says. Brad Vis said the fire had caused extensive damage to Lytton, in British Columbia, and to surrounding critical infrastructure."

Good morning friends,

Has been a very busy fortnight, and we've been moving back and forth between Italy and Switzerland- when I'm in Italy, my computer setup is dreadful and I barely get to scrap. I can WORK with it, but staying there past the 8 hour point is dreadfully hot and I just can't do it. Need to do some catching up on my scrapping and challenges this month! Yesterday I packed two boxes and threw a bunch of stuff out and I'm feeling good about the progress made. I know that I'm no longer moving in August, but I've decided I'll keep packing stuff I don't use regularly to be ready for the move- in any case, my boxes are superlabelled so if I need something, I know exactly where to look.

Does anyone here know a person who is ordained in Minnesota or Iowa? My friends are not religious, and are leaning towards not having a friend ordained to marry them because they're afraid of drama at the wedding and are looking for a third party who will do it. I know the reverend I used, but the ceremony still ended up being very religious, so I hesitate to suggest him to them. Weird ask, but stranger things have panned out, so!

Second vaccine went well, am a little worn out, but other than that no drastic side effects.

I'll ask around. I'm absolutely CERTAIN that one of my friends around here is ordained. Remind me of the date?

Sherri - what an important week for you. What a difficult time that was for all of you, glad it is behind you.

Temps have cooled off a bit here, hovering in the low 80's this week. Still no rain and everything is so dried out. We can't go to the dog park b/c the ground is so dry that the dirt kicked up by the dogs running makes everyone cough and choke, so is really uncomfortable. The wildfires need rain so hope that is coming for the interior soon.

We've got telus coming tomorrow morning, going to switch providers for our tv/internet/phone. Hope the installation goes smoothly.

Got caught up on "Discovery of Witches" last night and am enjoying the series. I read the first book but not the others so don't know where the story is going to go. We lose the PVR recordings tomorrow so have tried to watch some of it this week. Tomorrow I start with a new PVR/menu to learn as I hear its quite different than the one we have now.

I've got to get more coffee and get to work. Have a great day everyone.

It keeps floating, Carla! They're sure of the 2022 part, but it's between September and October now because they WANT a Halloween wedding but are afraid of it getting too cold, and so maybe September. It would either be September 17th or October 15th when they decide what they want more.

Lynnie, hope you’re feeling better after your adjustment. Ouch.

I’m actually traveling this week! Before the pandemic, I traveled around the country extensively for work. It’s been strange being home since Feb. of 2020. So the fact that this is my first out-of-state work trip is pretty exciting. Of course, I had to dust off the suitcase and re-teach myself how to pack.Ha. And, of course,I packed way too much.

Sherri, what an awesome milestone for you! Congrats!

I'll keep praying for relief for the fires and the floods. The heat over there is just insane! :(

I'm just carrying on, smiling through my pain. What good is it to be upset about something I can't control? Plus I am getting a lot of pages done, which is great. I should do more- it would keep me happy and occupied.

We are still at a stand still with the permits for the remodel. We are waiting on one paper from the electrician before everything is submitted. We were told that once everything is in it would take about three weeks for the permits to be processed. OMG! I can't stand living like this out of boxes and boxes all over the place. It seems like there will be no room but I have to keep in mind that nothing is in closets.
I can't wait for work to begin again. I can't wait. Did I say that enough, I CAN'T WAIT!

On the bright side, we got a membership to our town pool. It's been nice going there. It isn't as crowded as it used to be this year due to COVID you need a yearly pass to enter and no "bring a guest" is being allowed. We actually have room to swim!

Thanks heaps, Carla!

I rewarded myself for my birthday by leaving on time today, and spending an hour rifling through Gingerbread Lady Collabs, it's killing me y'all, I love everything.

Lily Ann, that is so frustrating about the permits! But at least they make sure everything is done right. It's great you have a pool you can escape to. I'm still kind of nervous to go to the pools here.

Sylfie, Happy Birthday! I hope you treated yourself to one of those collabs today. Enjoy the day! :)

I've been nominated for LOTW again! I'd love your vote, but if you like another, I'm OK with that. Mine's the one with Lena in her little Star Wars outfit, titled "Walk." Vote HERE. :)

Alexis and I went to a artists talk and show tonight. Our friend M, when COVID lockdown started decided for the expected two week shutdown to bake bread everyday. Her friend E, thought if M was baking bread every day, that she would paint it. So these two women set out on this epic journey of one baking bread daily, and taking still life photos of it, and the other painting each night. Except we all know the shutdown didn’t last two weeks, it lasted much longer. The two of them did fifty. It was amazing. Most of the paintings had been auctioned off, and money raised for charity. Some were commissioned. People dropped off recipes, and starters of dough, the talk was incredible. The outtakes funny. So glad we went, really our first “social” event since sometime before March 2020. It was weird but wonderful.

Good morning ladies, We have been getting a lot of rain these past couple of days which we so very much need with all the fires in our province and across Canada. The smoke is clearing here after having to keep our windows closed for a few days and our air conditioner off one day when it was exceptionally bad.

Still working on our renos too, Lily ann, sorry yours are taking so long. I know how frustration it is to live out of boxes. When we guttered our kitchen, I did dishes in the bathroom for almost 6 months. We upgraded our electrical and furnace and now we are waiting for our roof repairs from the furnace stack and hydro pole.

Sherri, what a wonderful event to have and all those loafs of bread! Is any photos on FB? I would love to see them.

Sylfie, I hope your friend has a wonderful wedding no matter what date they choose, both months make wonderful photos. And, Happy belated Birthday!

Ane, congrats on LOTW nomination, off to vote!

The past couple weeks I have been thinking hard about life choices... I made a decision to hold off retirement, it was a hard one but there is so much to do around here. My youngest son is on his last year of school and is planning on moving to Alberta. He is off to Banff next week for a summer hiking trip and going for a couple of interviews, so we will see what pans out. I have Mom to look after and can't travel right now so I thought I might as well make a few more $$ to fund that long list of travel plans. But, I am officially on vacation for 2 weeks!

Have a great day everyone!

Good morning ladies. It's been a busy week of tax stuff (I never want to be late again, it is such a hassle), lots of desk work and finally got the new provider to hook up our tv/internet/phone (mostly). The tech was here all day yesterday and a few things still won't reconnect to the new router. I'm having trouble with the on-demand on the tv but now it's working on my phone. I hate going thru all this, it's been a ton of phone calls and troubleshooting but I think we are getting close to working out all the kinks. I lost a day of desk work yesterday so have a lot to do today and will work over the wkend too to get caught up. This all makes me long for retirement next year.

I'm like Karen though (route66) and will probably hold off a bit, maybe 3-6 months, to stockpile a bit of money as we transition from employment to pension but, having said that, I may be so sick of working by next fall, I'll just be done with it all. We'll see.

Karen - have I ever asked where you are located in Canada? If so, I've forgotten...sorry.

Sylfie - glad you treated yourself on your birthday. What collabs did you get?

Sherri - sounds like such a fun outing...you should scrap a page about that story.

Ane - congrats on the nomination for LOTW!

Lily Ann - enjoy the pool. I think we'll get a membership too, we have a new pool in the neighborhood. Now that I can't jog anymore (back arthritis) I need some activity other than walking.

I've got a ton of work to do, so I'd better get another coffee and get at it. Have a great day everyone.
