Doran I am so sorry you are going through this. When I read your page it touched me deeply as I experience much the same. I had wondered if I had just missed you posting about it earlier.

Oh Dorann, I am so sorry. It is the hardest thing in the world to see the person you chose grow in a different way, become a different person, and become something that hinders you rather than enhancing you. If you ever need to talk, please reach out. Inbox, I have facebook, I have an internet phone for international calling, even. I've been there, and you're right. It never becomes an easy feeling, but the grief does fade and change somewhat.

After being told that my counterpart in the US would be taking in hand everything for her department... She has called in sick/late both days this week. I would laugh if I wasn't so disgusted. I am trying a new thing. When it gets to be 16:30, whether they're in, or not, whether they've given me feedback... I walk out.

You certainly did let the cat out of the bag and I hope it feels cathartic! You are a good person, you kept things going through so many tough times, losing your home, when your husband was away, when you were struggling to find a place to stay, you soldiered through it all with a good attitude and strength. You deserve to be appreciated. Hopefully, he will see the need for counseling and you will be able to work it out. If not, then you will get through it and you will make your life amazing.

On my day off, I have accomplished very, very little- but I did manage to do a lot of scraping (not to be confused with scrapping) to find some stuff for my best friend's wedding. They got engaged on Sunday, and we had a two hour long very late at night phone call talking about everything she's thinking, and she asked for my assistance in doing 'stuff' because she doesn't know where to start. ... Pinterest. Always start with Pinterest. So that is what I have done today. Found a bunch of available-for-purchase dresses which match the inspo pics she sent me, and a bunch of cakes / cupcakes that "felt" like they might be something she'd vibe with.

Survivor is now over and it was a lot of fun. So , hopefully I will be popping in here more often to keep up with all that you are sharing.
Next month I am a guest on Connie Prince's CT which I always enjoy doing.

Doran, I hope that life goes more smoothly for you and the outcome will be a happy one.

Sylfie, I hope your friend's wedding plans go well for her.

Anne-Marie thats awesome to be a guest for Connie, she is great to work with.

I am so happy to have made honourable mention in survivor. I love all the LO I did for the topics and the immunity.

I had so much fun this year with Survivor but now that it is over, I hope to have have more time to clean up some projects I have started. Thanks again, Lynnie for keeping us organized! Congrats Sherri on your honorable mention, your layouts were amazing.

A-M, nice to see you here and have fun with guesting with Connie, I adore her kits!

Dorann, I hope you find peace with wherever your marriage takes you, you can be strong with or without. Hugs!

Sylfie, sounds like so much fun to help plan a wedding.

I had an amazing day on Thursday, celebrating my 60th birthday. My hubby and boys surprised me all day. The day started off with a heartfelt video from family and friends (lots of tears but happy ones), then a bouquet of the most beautiful arrangement of flowers arrived. I had so many friends and family call or send me wishes on FB that I was teary all day! Since we are still in a deep lockdown and keeping within the restrictions, we went to my son's for a quiet dinner with the most scruptous Italian pastas and pizza and let us not forget the fun drinks I was served. The cake was made by my DIL's sister and had photos from over the years, so delicious. Since I had to postpone my dream trip travels to London, my family gifted me a "Guided Virtual tour of London" for me and 15 friends. I can hardly wait for the pictures so I can scrap my LO's.

Back to reality today, we are getting our vaccines. And I am praying for my sister who tested positive last week.

Have a great weekend everyone.

Hey y'all! I got my 2nd Covid vaccine this week, and so far it's just left me with muscle aches and pain at the site. Feeling much better today though, just when I got to be on my feet for much of 2 hours- helping with a band fundraiser (yard sale). 2 hours is a lot for someone like me who mostly sits, LOL! So now I ache all over for a different reason.

Tomorrow should be lots better. Just a walk to church and back, and maybe a nap. Hopefully no aching. :)

Karen, I hope your sister is doing okay and recovers quickly and well if she really does have the virus.

Ane, take care of yourself and do no overdo things.

Today here in Australia is ANZAC day when we remember those who fought in the past wars to protect our country. I will be doing my fortnightly worship time at the Aged Care where I volunteer and then I will show a DVD of a documentary made of the Battle of Milne Bay which took place in Papua New Guinea during World War 2 and was where my Dad was in the army. He fought in that battle.

Hello Ladies!...
Dorann- Sending hugs and prayers, been there so totally understand. I have learned I am better living without a man in my life. I have been divorced since 1996 and have been happy alone. I hope you follow your heart and do what's right for you. Stay strong... You can and will get through this.
I have had a busy month, got back from my vacation at the resort, and 2 days later my sister is here for a visit, then my daughter pops in and surprises me, so we had about 2 weeks of card games and lots of laughs and some tears. We had a great visit, my sister left late Thursday, and ,my daughter left this morning. Wore out but had a great time, I miss them so when they are gone. But we hope to get together again soon. My sister lives 12 hours away, so we don't get together as much as we would like. We are very close and miss being close enough to have coffee time every 2 or 3 days. So we try to make it up in 2 weeks... I had 5 sisters and 7 brothers and we were the only 2 that still lived in our home town, but then our children all left, so we decided as we got older we wanted to be near our kids which were in opposite directions, so now we live so far from each other. So that makes our times together more special. All my siblings live in different states, and it is so hard to get everyone together at the same time. It has been since my mother's funeral that we were all there. Everyone working and kids and life makes it hard to plan a time that everyone can be there. Miss that... our family had family reunions and we were all there when my parents were alive, now the younger generations just don't make it a priority.... I miss that so much. It is so sad they don't realize what they are missing out on. But the world is changing and not for the good I'm afraid. I pray everyday for a better tomorrow...
Well I hope I haven't bored you to much... My mind is wondering today, need to scrap and relax a bit... I hope you all have a great week praying for all of you as we all struggle with life. Hang in there and keep scrapping...

Hi again... forgot to mention my layout is up for voting in the week of 4/11 - 4/17 voting will start soon... would love a few votes... the layout is my jewelry layout for survivor, my favorite ring. The last gift from my daughter before I lost her and my grandson in a car accident. I think about them everyday. I wish no parent had to go through loosing a child or grandchild, it is a pain like no other....
Appreciate all the votes I can get... Hugs Ladies

Hi ladies. Just wanted to check in and say hi. I bet you all had fun with Survivor. I wish I had had the time to participate but my CT duties elsewhere and life in general has kept me too busy for much "me" scrappy time. Our new pup seems to be getting better (she was deathly ill when we got her) and if the next set of blood work is clear then she is definitely on the road to recovery. She is active and eating well so I take that as a good sign. I'm very busy with doggy potty time right now and she is a stubborn one LOL. I love her to bits but she makes me want to rip my hair out sometimes.

Dorann - just want to send positive thoughts and hugs to you in this difficult time. No matter what the future brings, take comfort in knowing you are trying to take the steps needed to give you the life you deserve and need.

I'll check in again, here and there. It's nice to pop in and see how everyone is doing.

It is interesting to see that a few of us wafflers are in the LOTW voting.
I have never won one of those and never expect to. I was just thrilled that Jill added my layout to the Bakers Best and now I see it among the ones being voted for.

Karen Alta Anne-Marie and I all up for voting the same week. Good luck ladies. Mines the bunnies.

Found out yesterday my heart heart has been acting up. Having some runs of Arrythmias recorded on my ICD. Going to be getting a 48 hour holter. See what it shows. It’s unsettling.

Sherri, big hugs! Although all heart surgery is scary, they've come a long way with the technology. There are many heart patients out there that you'd never knew they had problems. My mom had a triple bi-pass and lived 20 more years after! And it wasn't the heart that killed her, it was her lungs from smoking.

Oh dangit, Sheri. Stay positive. You've been through WORSE. I'll say some extra prayers. Don't want you to have to go through any more surgeries. Love you, babe!

Sheri- Sending prayers your way.

Good luck to all in the voting this week for Bakers Best. I also have been in there several times and have never one... But that's OK just glad some like my layouts... and there are a lot of great layouts there... So makes the voting hard. It won't stop me from trying to improve, maybe one day!... LOL But I won't hold my breath... LOL I have been relaxing and got a few challenges done, so tired from the trip and then company when I got home... But it was nice to visit with everyone, we played a lot of games, and learned a card game we never played before. It was a lot of fun and will be added to our favorites when we get together. You all take care will pop in again soon...

I'm sorry you're having to deal with such a scary thing, Sherri. I don't know how I would deal with that. (((HUGS)))

My abdominal pain has flared up the past few days, and I am no closer to a solution than I was 3 years ago when it started. I have no idea what the next steps are, and that kind of scares me. So I have to deal with this for the rest of my life? If so, how will I get to do things hubby and I want to do later in life? *sigh*

Thanks for letting me vent. For good news, I'm going to visit my grandbaby in less than a week! She just figured out how to crawl forwards yesterday, and immediately went after mama's phone. I guess she wanted to see what the big deal about them was! :)

I have had SUCH a busy few weeks, I am having so much fun and I am so tired....Both are warring with each other, hahaha. Stay up late working on projects, have fun, be tired, the story of my life and I love it, except the tired part.

Anne-Marie, congratulations on being on Connie's team for the month. I love her stuff. My friends in Australia and New Zealand introduced me to Anzac day. In addition to the remembrances, I was also treated to Anzac Biscuits, which truly are delicious. My grandad fought in the Battle of the Somme and around there for the better part of WWI. He was injured several times. He was a bugler as well as a fighting soldier. When I think we have tough times, I think of how it was for them living in the trenches and the folks at home on rations with the fear of bombs every night. Lest we forget!

Sherri, I am glad you made honourable mention. You certainly deserved it. My friend, Elizabeth Weaver, did also. I was thrilled for her. She is in the middle of moving, so the contest was a bit difficult for her, but she pulled it off.

I am so sorry to hear of your heart issues. I am passing the basic information along to my Bible Study to pray for you. We love to include our friends in prayer.

Karen, your 60th Birthday sounds amazing, my mum's office turned their entired building into England for my mother's 90th birthday. It was the most amazing thing ever. They even gave her a throne and a crown.

Ane, hope you are feeling fab after you have your vaccination and the band fundraiser is done. Sorry your tummy is acting up. I am sure they will figure it out eventually!

Alta, I agree, the younger generations need to get together more! I am fortunate in my family, my kids love to spend time together and also spend time with cousins. DIL Vanessa has a gazillion cousins (her mum is one of 13, her dad is one of 12 or something like that, a lot for sure!) and she has cousin days all the time. She is one of the oldest and arranges things. Love your surprise and spending time with sis.

Rae, nice to see you drop in. Glad to hear the pup is doing better. We miss you on our CT, for sure! I hope you can come back one day. How is Bailey doing?

Sylfie, hope your friend's wedding plans are coming along :)

Everything has been proceeding pretty well for her wedding- we've hit the first BIG hurdle, which is her family trying to dictate to her 'how it's gonna be' under the guise of 'helping her cut costs. Her cousin with a point-and-click and no art background declared HE would be her wedding photographer, whether she liked it or not. She, of course, did not like this. Pictures are a really BIG THING for her, and she's terrified that having him do them, he'll either drop the ball chatting, or not be taking the quality of pictures she wants.

Enter my meddling hind end. I asked my mother if she'd be up for putting on her clicky hat and she said feed her and she'll do it for free, which solves the professional photographer problem, and the argument of price point.

Her family is also trying to tell her they'll just 'cater it themselves' and my magic trick for that is a venue which requires a licensed catering company. I've proposed four places for her, although I am very sure about one of them being THE PERFECT PLACE in terms of their guestlist size, ambiance of Spooky Elegance, and a little rough around the edges.

She'll be looking for her dress with her future mother in law, who has come around after 2 weeks of stonewalling her, and is open to a less traditional dress. I found a bridesmaid dress which I felt was perfect- it's black with a red ombre, and pulls in some of the red they wanted without it being on HER or HIM. Unfortunately being outside of the United States, I ran into a huge hurdle ordering. Sears didn't like my credit card, my credit card won't send what they want unless they send it in a specific format, they can't DO that because their only ability to send mail is automatic and prefilled. In the end after four hours of back and forth, I had to cancel the order and have my mother place it.

I am probably going to fall down the pinterest hole again today, looking at bouquet ideas. We like the idea of brooch inclusion for some of her spooky-fun things, and her fiancé has doubled down on wanting a Spooktastic Halloween Wedding because Spooky is Them. So it's time to put on my thinking cap to balance out the explosion of pumpkins and black cats. Maybe with black cats made of pumpkins.

I went to grab the link to show you guys the dress and it is SOLD OUT. So I guess I feel really fortunate that we managed to do it last night!! I threw together a collage page to show you guys-

OH WOW!!! One of the most FUN weddings we've ever attended was a Halloween wedding. Everyone came in costume and the officiant was Beetlejuice. It was an absolute HOOT! Bride was in white, but had spiders in her veil. It was a gorgeous night for an outdoor service! Hubby and one of my HS besties did the catering, so their "costumes" were their aprons. All the foods had a spooky theme too.
Good luck Syl! I know you'll do an amazing job!

Carla, my mother said she needs to get the officant dressed as the vampire from Dark Shadows, and I just about died! I am really looking forward to it, even if I can't be physically there on the ground doing stuff like I would like to be until we get a lot closer to time!

I'm delighted, I won a freebie from Memory Mosaic, and it worked perfectly for page 98/????? for Angel's trip with me last year. I've gotten through a dozen or so pages this weekend.

May is Asian American and Native Hawaiian / Pacific Islander Heritage Month, 2021

My sons, Chris (who died in 1996) and David (who died in 2016), were both Hawaiian, so my daughter has declared we will celebrate their lives for the entire month. Today I am wearing a pretty flowered dress to church.

So, if you see an unusual number of Hawaiian layouts this month, you will know why.
